buck is so frantic every time eddie is hurt. always sounds like his heart is breaking a million times over every time eddie isn’t right by his side, shoulder bumping into him, laughing along to his bad ideas and worse jokes. and that’s what gets to me, y’know? at the end of the day, at their very CORE they just like each other’s company. they like hanging out. they’re best friends who do life together, who want to keep doing life keep doing life together as long as they can swing it—and by god will they fight for it. fight to come home. big damn love story or not, they just want each other there, and i think that’s very sweet.
