i just checked the version history on the red thread as i sit here editing it, and if anyone ever feels weird about taking a long time to finish things: i started this fic in september of 2021. this has taken me almost three full years.

extraordinarily glad that i took five years to just write fanfic before attempting nanowrimo on an original project!!! i'm sitting here in front of my word doc like 'wow i'm glad i'm getting words down but this pacing is a mess and i'm going to have to fix it all in december this is awful' and then remembering that i've gone through this process on 18 full projects before. my pacing is always fucked on my first draft and i always manage to fix it later. this is fine.

How do people find betas?

I normally ask my friends or in some discord servers, but this is a bit different.

It's for Scum Villain or svsss, which is already an unhinged brand of ... humor? So I would need someone who actually has read and likes the novel because otherwise I would probably make people go wtf

Also the project is currently 90k+ and still going strong DX and would love help with flow.

A friend already volunteered but I would still like to have a second (third?) pair of eyes to look over it.

I also have yet to finish the fic so they'd have to be patient with me LMAO or be chill with agreeing to working on a fic in the hopefully not so distant future.

tl:dr how do you find a beta for a long, unhinged project? And on that note does anyone want to volunteer?
