I recently rewatched jurassic park and decided to read the books for the first time, and theyre actually so good

#i was nervois because sometimes older books wth such a huge movie fanbase wind up being totally different to the movie #in a way thats kind of disappointing if you liked the movie #but while it has flawed (ellie sattler and ellie sattlers legs are basically two different characters lmao) its actually really well written #and toes the line between sciencey and fun really well. it also explains a lot of the science very well which i appreciate #i havent even got to the actual dinosaur attacks yet (ive just stopped right as they break down in front of the trex cage lmao) and im like.#96 pages in. to a 216 page book. so hypothetically the pacing could be faster but it doesnt feel SLOW at all #anyway. so far would recommend

i bought a soft cover sketchbook a month-ish ago and it said 96 pages on the cover but im already halfway thru it so i counted the damn pages bc i was like. theres no way ive filled 50 pages. ITS ONLY 48 FUCKING PAGES TOTAL

Gloves x Hachi drabble i lazily wrote yesterday!! They might be written a bit ooc, so um. my bad.

this is also an au where gloves falls into the metro instead of gogs. yeah.

The sound of Gloves's heel tapping against the floor and the consecutive bumps of the train filled Hachi’s ears. They were heading off to the next station, but it was a particularly long ride today. He and Gloves sat shoulder to shoulder, just.. existing for lack of a better word.

Captain Cuttlefish was sat as well, but he didn’t exactly try to conversate. So.. they were all just a bit bored.

Hachi’s eyes snapped to Gloves’s leg, bouncing up and down. His hands held each other, and he messed with his own fingers. Even his eyes were busy, looking around the train for something.. anything..

“Gloves?” said Hachi, now staring directly at the aforementioned.

“What’s up?” Gloves's head turned to connect their gazes. He was still fiddling with his hands a little, and his leg was still bouncing.

“Why are you doing.. that?” Hachi gestured to the little things Gloves was doing. He had no idea what to call it, since it was never really something he dealt with while in the army.. or.. at least he didn’t think it was.

Gloves immediately stopped his little fidgeting as Hachi pointed it out. He looked a bit surprised he called him out.. maybe no one has ever done that before.. “Ah.. um..” He managed to get out.

Hachi waited patiently for Gloves to conjure something up. He was now turned to his side, having almost his whole body facing the other.

“I- I dunno. Just something I do..” Gloves then moved one of his hands up to scratch the back of his neck. He hasn't really gotten a question like this ever at the plaza, so he never really had an answer for it..

Another hand stayed idle in his lap, Hachi was able to catch the small twitch of his fingers.. “Okay.” Hachi then rotated again to face the wall opposite of them. His face remained blank, like nothing ever happened.

Gloves then returned to his regular position as well. Just, this time, he tried sitting normally. Both hands were placed on his lap, and his feet were crossed together.

Hachi scooted closer, leaving them shoulder to shoulder once again.

Then, his hand reached out to his side.

Hachi now held Gloves's hand in his own.

Hachi turned to smile at Gloves, and Gloves could only sheepishly smile back.
