12. Does/did your oc ever wish they could change the way they are? Why? If it's in the past, how did they get over the feeling? (this can be about internalized homo/transphobia) [Pick the first OC who comes to mind]

Sorry, it took me so long to answer. I have a few Sims who struggle or have struggled with their sexuality, but Orestes has to be the one who struggled the most and longest. Get ready for a good chunk of Orestes's backstory. Orestes was born at a time when sodomy brought you to prison, and being raised Roman Catholic didn't help either. Despite that, he fell for a man when he was a young adult. Unfortunately, that young man was not only a fellow officer cadet but also a noble. When the noble's parents found out they gave Orestes the choice of leaving the country or even better Europe, or take the blame and go to prison. With a heavy heart, Orestes chose to leave Europe. When Orestes settled down in Simerica he did his best to suppress and hide 'this side' of him. Simerica didn't treat 'people like him' any better. When he worked as a construction worker in Forgotten Hollow he met Marie. He ultimately fell in love with Marie Wedekind and married her. Orestes hoped that would settle his struggles now. He married a woman and became a father of two wonderful children. But fate (read: I) had other plans. Shortly before Marie was due with their third child a pandemic hit the harbor towns around the area. When it reached Forgotten Hollow Marie fell ill. When Orestes began to show the first symptoms he went to Count Vladislaus Straud, the ominous mayor of Forgotten Hollow, to ask for money to get better treatment for Marie. Orestes's bargain with Straud did indeed save Marie, because Straud sent the best doctor to treat Marie, but Orestes paid a high price. As soon as Straud found out about Orestes's sexuality, Straud turned Orestes's attraction to men into a weapon. Years passed, Orestes fought in two world wars and worked as a spy for Straud and Simerica, and things slowly began to change for LGBTQ+ people. But it took Orestes's (short) relationship with Marcus Crow, and a rebuke by Straud to finally accept this side of him, to finally come to terms with his bisexuality.

i'm obsessed with your sims, they're beautiful and so unique! i was just wondering your thought process behind making them, are they based on anyone? any differences when creating your model sims compared to gameplay sims? thanks love <3

Thank you so much 💜! I don't really tend to base most of my sims on anyone (there are exceptions of course!), but I'm sure it happens subconsciously sometimes.

TIME TO RAMBLE!

I'll throw a massive curveball though...Farrah technically came from this model:

Well...actually her brother did. Someone requested a sim based on this model (Alexander Farsi/Uloom) and I made Zaid.

Tumblr had issues back then with actually sending messages properly, so I thought they didn't want him anymore and he ended up being my sim....turns out they did, and it was Tumblr's fault, but he had a full family and was embedded in my game by the time we figured it out (sorry @99simproblems☠️). Over time, and with several tweaks and adjustments, Zaid became very much his own sim, separate to his inspo.

Farrah is Zaid's sister and was basically made from him with a few adjustments, much like the rest of his family was! Much like he did, Farrah also became a unique sim over time with lots of tweaks.

So a lot of my sims have messy and weird origins!

A lot of my models become gameplay sims or my gameplay sims become models, so there isn't much of a difference other than the models not aging.

The sims I share on the gallery (FrostyBreakfast) are CC-free so everyone is able to use them.

Could I have answered this in a much shorter way? Absolutely. Did I? Absolutely not 🤣

#simblr gratitude day

I don’t like to talk about it much, but Tumblr used to (and still does sometimes) terrify me.

I’m not gonna lie - it’s rough. I have had crippling social anxiety for as long as I can remember; so a place like this is not always the best .

After being here for years and not interacting and engaging, I pushed ahead a few years ago and put my stories out here.

@xldkx welcomed me with open arms and made me feel at home. I can’t even put into words what that meant to me.

@budgie2budgie, @therichantsim, @ladybugsimblr , @rebouks , @storiesbyjes2g , @airplanehead @gingerbeardmansim @madeofcc @mysimsloveaffair @99simproblems (just to name a few - so many more came along since then) engaged with my posts and introduced me to their wonderful worlds.

I’ve said it before, but I always saw all of us containing multitudes; whole galaxies of art and stories and magic . Excites me and humbles me to be in your orbit. 

Honorary mention to @cinamun : it’s one thing to be talented. It’s another thing to be intelligent, but to be both, and also kind? Mind blowing. To juggle all the work you do, as well as make everyone feel welcome leaves me awestruck. Every time I wish I could do it as well as you, I change my mind because it looks stressful lol. So kudos my friend .

Brian. When he does, it's a sign that he's stressed about something (not particularly bc of the stressor itself). A lot of the times, he doesn't realize that he raised his voice because John barely reacts to the volume. There's usually a look and a gentle hand signal -- maybe a small "Breathe." Calm down is never used because it never fails to amp him up.

Not that John doesn't but his is way more accidental/situational. When he does, Brian gives him "the look" and he'll stop on a dime. This goes for Were!John too.

Who is the first to apologise?

John. It may take him a while; he's not gonna do it off the bat (unless it is really egregious), but eventually he does and it's always sincere. He's not one to apologize for the hell of it or to placate.

Current obsession: Since around 2018 I've been basically the only person obsessed with the governmental disclosures of UAPs, which makes sense since everyone else has much bigger problems on their plates but still, every month or so I just gorge information on this because holy shit the government admitted there's crazy weird shit in the sky and they don't know what it is and they're kinda concerned about it
