Reasons for High Electricity Bills in Summer
Soaring energy bills during summer months leave many households puzzled and frustrated. While it's natural to increase air conditioner usage in hot weather, there are multiple factors that silently contribute to rising utility costs. Understanding the root causes behind these high expenses helps in taking the right steps toward energy efficiency and financial relief.
Common Causes of High Summer Energy Bills
Increased Air Conditioner Usage
Cooling systems work harder in hot weather, especially if the thermostat is set too low. The greater the temperature difference between indoors and outdoors, the longer the AC runs to maintain comfort. Over time, this consistent strain leads to higher energy consumption.
Poor Home Insulation
Insufficient insulation allows cold air to escape and warm air to enter, making cooling systems work overtime. Attics, windows, doors, and walls without proper sealing significantly impact a home’s ability to retain cool air. Heat infiltration is one of the biggest contributors to summer energy waste.
Inefficient HVAC System
Older air conditioning units or those lacking maintenance are less efficient. Dirty filters, clogged coils, and outdated components force the system to draw more power to achieve desired temperatures. A well-maintained system consumes less energy and performs more reliably.
Phantom Power Draw
Electronics and appliances plugged in but not actively in use still draw power. Game consoles, desktop computers, televisions, and kitchen appliances silently increase electricity bills. Unplugging devices or using a smart power strip reduces this passive energy use.
Daytime Appliance Usage
Running dishwashers, ovens, dryers, or washing machines during the hottest parts of the day generates extra heat indoors. That added warmth makes the air conditioner work harder to cool the space. Shifting these tasks to early morning or late evening hours limits energy waste.
Excessive Lighting
Standard incandescent and halogen bulbs produce heat along with light. Keeping multiple lights on during daylight hours adds unnecessary warmth to living spaces. Replacing them with LED alternatives minimizes heat production and reduces energy draw.
Leaky Ductwork
Conditioned air that escapes through gaps in ductwork results in longer system runtimes. Leaks reduce overall efficiency and cause energy bills to climb steadily. Properly sealed ducts ensure the cooled air reaches its intended destination without loss.
Incorrect Thermostat Settings
Setting the thermostat too low creates a constant energy demand. A smaller difference between indoor and outdoor temperatures lessens strain on the cooling system. Installing a programmable thermostat helps regulate indoor temperatures more efficiently throughout the day.
Heat-Producing Electronics
Televisions, desktop computers, and even large refrigerators emit heat during operation. In rooms with multiple devices, the ambient temperature rises, prompting the cooling system to stay active longer. Keeping these devices in well-ventilated areas and turning them off when not in use limits their impact.
Poor Ventilation
A lack of airflow traps warm air inside the home. Closed doors, blocked vents, or heavy drapes can prevent cool air from circulating freely. Ensuring interior spaces have proper ventilation supports your HVAC system and leads to better energy management.
Using these insights, households gain control over their energy usage. Addressing these causes of elevated costs not only brings relief during warmer months but also creates long-term savings. The reasons for high electricity bills in summer are often avoidable with thoughtful home adjustments and efficient usage habits.
FAQs
Q1: Is it better to leave the AC running all day or turn it off when leaving home?
Turning the AC off or setting it to a higher temperature when leaving reduces energy use. A programmable thermostat can automate this process efficiently.
Q2: How frequently should HVAC filters be replaced in summer?
Filters should be checked monthly during peak cooling season and replaced if they appear dirty. Clean filters allow better airflow and reduce strain on the system.

"Fuck, baby. I'm gonna make you my wife someday." He grunts, all of his muscles tensing as he pumps your insides full of cum. His body cages yours, and your nails rake down his toned, freckled back as he grinds against you, just for good measure.
After you both come down from your high, after you're both cleaned up and only laying in bed, you drop the bomb.
"Can you stop saying things like that?" His eyes dart towards your body, you seem uncomfortable, even when your body doesn't pull away from his warmth as he's cuddling you.
"Things like what?" He asks, cocking a brow. He was just about to fall asleep when you had to open your mouth.
"About us getting married and stuff. I don't know if it turns you on or whatever, but it makes me really uncomfortable." Ironically enough, he freezes for a moment. Only staring at your face as you gently rub his arm, trying to soothe him in case his feelings got hurt. You sigh. "Look, Ace. I- I really like you, alright? You're incredible in bed, and I enjoy it when we also go out and do other stuff. But- uhm... I don't... love you." You give him an awkward smile. "You get it, right? We're just... really good friends who have really good sex."
"What the fuck are you even saying?" He turns to cage you against the bed again, he looks hurt, furiously hurt. The sweat on his skin evaporating as soon as he looks at you, like he's about to burst in flames. "Really- Really good friends?" He asks, letting out a humorless chuckle. "Really good friend!? Since fucking when!?" The bed-sheets are burning under his fingertips, and you feel scared, agitated. Ace has never given you a reason to feel threatened, not even when you knew about his past, his quirks, his sheer power. So how is he becoming so menacing in this moment.
"Come on, Ace. Just- Just calm down, alright? Let's talk about this!"
"I don't want to talk! I want to understand. How- Why?" The look of hurt in his face is making you feel bad, you avert your gaze, biting the inside of your cheek. "Don’t tell me these touches meant nothing..." He asks in a whimper, his hands searching for yours, tangling your fingers together.
"Of course they meant something. Just... just not what you think." You murmur, trying to let go of his hand without seeming too cruel. Although in that second, every thing you do or say seems so cruel to him. "I'm sorry, Ace. I didn't think you felt that way. If I knew that I would've... walked away, to not hurt you."
"You're not walking away." He growls, he lines his cock with your entrance again, and pushes forward, making you gasp, your toes curling at just how good the tip of his dick feels pressing against your sweet spots. "I don't care how, I don't care if it takes months or years or centuries. One day you’ll love me back. And that day, I’ll be sure to make you mine."

You and Ace had been close friends for quite some time now. Very close, actually. Not quite as close as you’d have liked to be, but that did not matter much, as long as you had his friendship. Yes, if nothing else, his friendship was enough.
Lately though, your friendship seemed to have been somewhat shaken. For some reason, Ace had been distancing from you, and all others lately. Sure, he’d still act fine when people talked to him. But that was not quite the way it used to be… The Ace you’d known so far was a bit of a chatter box - that is, when he was not fast asleep on the deck, or with his face in a plate of food. He loved to socialise with the crew, and was always offering to help wherever he felt he could be of any use. He’d often be engaged in some conversation or another, swapping tips and tops, cracking jokes, or regaling his men with tales. Now, however, he’d rather lean over the railing, gazing at the sea, lost in thought, or sit alone, isolated, than engage with others. He’d slip out during group conversations, or spend hours shut in the study, haunched over maps, and documents, working his way through endless stacks of paperwork - a task he’d always dreaded more than any other. It was not quite the same, no.
It would be a lie to say it did not worry you. Ace was your best friend, and, if you were being honest with yourself, he was a bit more than that. It was only natural for you to notice, to miss him, and to worry. You couldn’t bring this up around others - it was clear it was not something he’d want broadcast in front of a crowd. So, you decided to speak to him as soon as you’d catch him alone. It shouldn’t be too hard. Afterall, he tended to seclude himself every chance he got those days. So, you waited. Ace had spent most of the day in the study. At lunch, there was not enough privacy to speak to him, so you let it slide. Afterwards, he disappeared, and you had no idea where.
Eventually, night had fallen, and the Whitebeards were having a party on the main deck. It seemed like your plan would have to wait another day. The crowd grew and grew, as the music played, and the booze flowed. It was not unusual for pirates to party, and the parties on the Moby Dick never disappointed. Or at least, they never had, until this point. For, as expected, you could not find Ace anywhere in the crowd, and a party without him simply felt incomplete.
You spent some of the night gliding through the crowds, slipping from clique to clique, from conversation to conversation, eventually setting camp up by yourself by the refreshments table. You sighed as you scanned the swaying masses, as they sang, and danced, and chatted… as if they hadn’t even noticed.
“Hey,” came a voice from behind you, as a hand gently grasped your shoulder. You turned around to find Marco, and Thatch. Thatch had a compassionate smile on his face, and, while Marco didn’t show it on his lips, the same compassion, and understanding could be read in his eyes as he looked down at you, secluded as you were, camping alone by the booze.
“We know,” Marco says softly. You tilt your head sideways, questioning him with a silent look.
“You must be thinking we hadn’t noticed how Ace has been drawing himself back lately,” he starts, as he takes his hand off your shoulder, and turns to look at the merry-makers. “How can the crew party as if they don’t even notice? But we do notice. We all do.” Now that he mentioned it, it dawned on you that Ace’s presence was not the only absence here tonight - a certain carefreeness seemed to escape many that night, and certainly those close to Ace - you, the commanders, Pops, and the men of his division. Now that you were aware of it, you saw it nearly everywhere - in their eyes, as they, too, scanned the crowd; on their lips, curled in half-smiles; on the very countenance of their bodies. They could all tell something - or rather, someone - was missing that night.
“We were hoping a party might draw him out,” joined Thatch. “The plan was to get some booze in him, and hope it’ll loosen him up enough to tell us what’s wrong - how we can help. But, as you can see…”
“He didn’t show,” finished Marco.
“He never showed up,” you said simultaneously.
“Yup…But!” he added with excitement, and you saw a smile creep on Marco’s face as he turned to look at you once more.
“We got one more thing we’d like to try.”
“Ah, and that is where I come in, I presume?” You turned to look at them, swirling your drink, as you waited for them to continue.
“Yep,” they confirmed in unison, before Marco proceeded to explain. “See, we found him sulking alone on the quarterdeck. Seems he came out for the booze, but didn’t stick around for the company.”
“Ouch! Well, that’s flattering,” you remarked jokingly, knowing full well it was nothing personal.
“Yeah, well, he won’t talk to us,” explained Thatch.
“Yep, we’re clearly part of the ‘company’ he seems to be avoiding… Which brings us to your part.”
“Ah, I get it. You want me to go up there, and see if I fare any better than you two.”
Thatch was smiling, while Marco chuckled at your deduction, giving you a small smirk.
“No,” he answered, “we know you’ll fare better than us.” The small, lopsided grin on Marco’s face made you cock an eyebrow for an instant, but you quickly brushed it off, as Thatch joined in once more.
“Yeah, we know you two are close. Hell, no one’s closer to him than you, except maybe his brothers,” added Thatch, matter-of-factly.
“So, what we want from you is to go up there and bring him back to Earth.”
You looked at them - they clearly cared about him, and were now resting their hopes on you, giving you a chance to help. They were giving you a chance to speak to him alone about whatever it is that’s been bothering him, just the way you’d told yourself you’d do. You glanced at your drink, swirling it around some more. Thatch’s words about how close you and Ace were made you feel warm inside. Maybe there was hope for you yet… But now was not the time for that. Snapping out of your thoughts, you looked up at your fellow conspirators.
“Leave it to me!” you declared, shooting them a grin.
“I knew we could count on you,” cheered Thatch, with a big smile, while Marco kept on his usual lazy smirk, giving you a small nod. They refilled your drink, and shoved a beer for Ace in your hands, before ushering you to the quarterdeck.
You took a deep breath trying to calm your nerves, before you strutted off, shouting over your shoulder “Wish me luck!”
“Good luck!” the guys responded, as you disappeared behind a corner.
It was a warm night, and the skies were clear, revealing a veritable sea of stars above your head, complete with a bright full moon, and with nary a cloud in sight. The music from the party was fading as you walked further and further away, towards the quarterdeck; its spritely rhythms now barely enough to muffle the clicking sound of your footsteps on the wooden planks.
Indeed, way in the back, hidden out of sight, was Ace. Slumped on the deck, with his back resting against a wall, a couple of empty beers around him, and one bottle hanging by the neck in his hand. His head tilted upwards, his eyes fixed on the stars above him. He seemed so calm, so quiet, and yet, not serene in the slightest. It was as if the silent sorrow in his soul crept its way towards you, and took you by the hand, when his eyes suddenly turned to you. A smile made its way onto his lips, but failed to reach his tired eyes. ‘Had he been crying?’
“Hey, Y/N! What are you doing here?” Ace tried to act cheerful, and play pretend; he tried to hide his expression by finishing his drink, but you knew him far too well for that, and saw right through his act.
“I heard you were out here,” you confessed as you went to sit down by his side, handing him the beer. “I haven’t seen you in a while,” you continued, as Ace took the bottle from your hand, “and I missed you. We’ve all been missing you.” You spoke softly, your voice barely above the sounds surrounding you - the music, the clamour from the main deck, with the clanging of beer-filled mugs, and the familiar sounds of waves splashing rhythmically against the sides of the ship. Ace averted his gaze from you, lest you saw the truth in his eyes. But you already knew. You’ve seen it the moment he looked your way.
Shuffling around a bit, you shifted position, and made yourself more comfortable against the wall, by his side. You allowed a moment to pass in silence, not intending to come off too forcefully, as you both watched the stars twinkling above your heads. You took a sip of your drink. The sloshing of liquid punctuated the silence before you spoke.
“Care you tell me what’s got you so down? Hm?” you questioned, as gently as you could. Slowly, you turned your head towards him, giving him a side-look, and a soft, half-hearted smile as you waited for his response.
Ace pulled his knees up to his chest, and wrapped his arms around them; the bottle you’d given him still hanging in his hand. He thought he hid it better than that, even from you. But he should have known you’d see right through, and if he were being honest with himself, deep down, he was glad you did. He needed you to pull him out of the spiralling nightmares that had become his thoughts. But that didn’t make it any easier to get the words out.
Ace rested his chin on his arms, staring straight ahead, at nothing in particular, as his mind scampered to string words together. Though his mouth was hidden behind one of his arms, you could see he was working on an answer by the frown that weighed on his brow. A few moments passed in silence before you placed your hand on his shoulder blade, gently rubbing his back. His eyes darted up to yours, his mouth hanging ever so slightly open, before closing it again, and averting his gaze once more. The warmth of your hand on his skin was comforting, safe, inviting; inviting him to tell you of his woes.
“I’m sorry,” he says quietly, his voice barely above a whisper, barely audible over the commotion of the party on the main deck.
“What for?”
“For making you worry… You, and Marco, and Thatch, and Izou, and Pops, and all the others…I’m sorry for shutting you all out these past few days… weeks. I’m just…” Ace paused for a moment, as he turned his head away from you again, and fixed his eyes on the swaying waves before him. “I… haven’t been myself lately, is all.”
“Ace, it’s alright. We’ve all got our darker days. It’s - “
Ace draws a shaky breath, before cutting you off. “I know it’s not fit for a commander - t’ give in like that, and shut you all out. I should have done better… You all deserve better…”
The hand that was rubbing his back froze in place, as you stared at him in shock - eyes wide, and slack jawed - struggling to believe the words you were hearing. Seeing Ace crumbling down like this certainly struck a chord. You and Ace were close, but this was a side of him you’d never seen before. Was this the same daredevil you’d grown so used to over time? Sure, you were aware that he wasn’t always that same cocky bastard. You knew he had a softer side too, and you knew he was damaged too. You knew that he struggled with his past - his ancestry, especially - wondering if he really deserved to be where he was, and be loved as he was. Sometimes he’d wondered if maybe he could have done more for Luffy - if he was a good older brother. Other times he wondered if he was doing right by Pops, and the other Whitebeards. You knew all of this, and then some. But you’d never seen him so broken before. How long had he been carrying this stone around his neck? At a loss of words, all you could do was stare at him - lips trembling as you tried to form words; throat tightening, as you tried to hold back tears.
“I’m sorry you’re missing out on the party to sit here with me,” he continued, “but I also wanna say thank you. Thank you for your time, and thank you for your company.” He adjusted his sitting position, stretching out the leg nearest to you and allowing it to bend to the side, as his arm hung over his bent knee. “I hope you know how much I value your friendship… despite the past couple of weeks… And thanks for the drink too,” he chuckles, a bittersweet smile on his face as he takes a swig, before quickly resuming his monologue. “And thank Marco and Thatch too for trying to cheer me up. I don’t know what I ever did to deserve you guys. Y'all deserve better than someone like me,” he trailed off. His head briefly dipped down against his arm, before he quickly lifted it up, and tilted it back against the wall. It was as if he were afraid that if he allowed his head to hang like that he might break down, and cry. His lips curled, and trembled with a bittersweet smile. You watched as his brows furrowed, and the corners of his mouth twitched, before he covered his eyes with his hand. From his shaking lips came a sound hard to pinpoint. Was it a sob? A scoff? A chortle? Whatever it was, it clearly captured his inner turmoil.
Seeing him like this disarmed you completely. You gawked at him for a moment longer, unaware that large, warm tears had started spilling from your eyes, down your cheeks, and down your neck. You watched him shake his head, as if in disbelief of the situation too - in disbelief of the things he’s said, in disbelief of having allowed someone to see him like that.
The shock still prevented you from forming proper sentences, but you could no longer sit by silently. “Ace…”
Hearing his name carried on a breathy whisper snaps him out of his spiral, and pulls his attention towards you. Ace hardly had time to register the pained look on your tear-stained face, before you cupped his cheeks in your hands, and pressed your lips against him. You squeezed your eyes shut, forcing out the tears past your lashes. The kiss felt hot, with a thick blend of love, and pain; with all the laden words that have spilt, and all those that would not come; with all emotions that you both had been trying to hide. It wasn’t long before you slowly pulled away from him, keeping his face between your palms. The kiss may not have lasted long, but it was enough to get him to shut up, and cease his self-deprecatory verbiage, if only for a moment. You took a moment to scan the shocked, flustered expression on his freckled face before speaking.
“I’ll decide what I deserve,” you stated, finally letting go of his face.
You watched as Ace, who seemed perfectly stupefied by your little stunt, attempted - and failed - to pull his wits about him.
“Did… Did you just kiss me?” He looked cute as a button as he pointed at himself, confused, as if trying to comprehend his own question. You chuckled at his reaction.
“Was I not supposed to?” You may have chuckled at his reaction, but the truth is that you did it on an impulse, and now the reality of it all was setting in for you too. You’d had a crush on him for ages now, and never in a million years would you have imagined things going this way. But what’s done is done, and this was the moment of truth. Every moment it took for him to answer felt like an eternity, as you kept wondering - What was he going to do? What was he going to say? You couldn’t help but avert your eyes from his, as you felt a blush creep onto your face. You cursed the full moon for its glow so bright, for you were nearly sure Ace could see the deep pink darkening your cheeks.
“I don’t know, but… Can you do it again?”
Looking up, you found Ace watching you, expectantly, with a soft, albeit nervous, smile, and a blush to rival your own.
“Yeah… Yeah, I’d say you deserve some more.”

College!au Furina finding out that you’re sick and takes care of you <3
cw(s): fluff, babying, praising, usage of petnames, not proofread, kind of rushed, men dni.
pairing(s): furina x fem!reader
a/n: first yet tiny fic about furina! enjoy <3
in you and furina’s dorm, you were studying for the upcoming college midterm exams that was already in two weeks. you started to feel lightheaded due to the lack of sleep but you didn’t mind it. the room got slightly colder despite the ac’s temperature being at normal and you were already shivering a bit, but you didn’t mind it either. you were too focused on studying.
after a few hours of studying, you fell asleep on your desk, giving in to your tiredness.
“I’m back!” furina suddenly screamed from the living room as she closed the door behind her and took her shoes off, placing them on the shoe rack. she just came back from buying groceries (probably bought macaroni again) as she placed the bags on the counter. then, she went to your room and saw that you were sleeping on your desk. she smiled softly at how adorable you looked, sleeping on your books and notebook before approaching your sleeping figure.
“such an adorable sleepyhead I’ve got here,” furina muttered to herself as she ran her fingers through your hair. then, her eyebrow raised when she felt how warm you were. then it hit her. “fever...” furina muttered again. she had to wake you up.
“pretty girl, please wake up. your temperature is high,” furina whispered softly as she gently shook your shoulder.
you stirred awake and slowly opened your eyes to see your pretty girlfriend. you let out a quiet and tired groan as you sat up, looking up at her.
“you’re home..” you whispered with a weak smile. furina then pressed her hand against your forehead, frowning at how hot you felt to her hand. she then cupped your face in her hands.
“yes, baby. I’m home, and you’re burning up.” furina whispered. “allow me to get you to bed.” she added as she was about to wrap her arms around you, but was stopped when you shook your head.
“no.. I have to study.” you whined.
“I barely even studied for midterms yet and now I have to take care of my sick girlfriend.” furina retorted with a giggle. “so be a good girl for me and let me take you to bed.” she said firmly, seeing the way you pouted. you had to surrender yourself to her in order to not have a pissy lover in your room. furina lifted you up in her unexpectedly strong arms, carrying you bridal style. her strength was not to be underestimated.
as she did so, she walked towards your bed and carefully placed you there, tucking you in. she placed a gentle kiss on your forehead as she whispered,
“wait here, okay? I’ll go get a glass of water for you and some medicine. don’t try to stand up or else I won’t cuddle you.” she warned. she knew you were going to protest.
“gosh, fine.” you rolled your eyes and sighed. furina smiled and patted your head before walking out of your room, leaving you sleepy.
moments later, she came back with a glass of water and medicine in hand. she walked towards you and sat beside you on the bed, giving you the medicine and water.
“drink up,” furina ordered gently as you obeyed. as you drank the medicine and water altogether, she took the glass and placed it on your nightstand. then, she got under the covers with you and shared her body heat to you by cuddling you close to her. she ran her fingers through your hair in a soothing manner as your face was buried into her neck, taking in her scent as it brought comfort to you and your mind.
“thank you, my love..” you whispered tiredly with a yawn as you started to get sleepy because of furina’s fingers playing with your hair. it just felt so comforting, as furina gently pressed a kiss to your forehead, the tip of your nose, your cheeks, and lastly—
“h-hold on, I don’t want you to get sick..”
“oh, come on~ just a tiny little peck on your lips. I wouldn’t get sick by just that. what’s the worst that could happen, my dear?”
the next day...
“look at you, all bedridden. and who said that she wouldn’t get sick just by giving a sick person a kiss or a peck on the lips?” you shook your head with a sigh, seeing the way furina started to sneeze while laying on the bed. she flashed a shy smile at you.
“a-as long as it’s from you, I wouldn’t mind getting sick at all!”

|| for @sunfloworcs sorry it took me a second baby 😭 happy birthday Oz!
[Heads up!: mention of alcohol, cowboy!Ace, gn reader, usage of petnames (pumpkin, darlin', sugar, babydoll, sweetheart), oral (m recieving)]
"Tryin' to drink me under the table, pumpkin?" Ever the flirt even when he's a few drinks in, Ace watches the tip of your head as you knock your shot back, the smooth work of your throat as you swallow.
You set the shot down with the hard click of glass, raising an eyebrow in challenge. "And if I am?" Your head tilts, even as the world spins just a little.
Ace grins. "I'd love to see you try, darlin'."
If there's one thing you can't resist, it's a challenge ㅡ especially one wrapped in the name Portgas D. Ace, cowboy with an easy smile and a charm that draws you in.
You eye him, the way he seems to glow even in the dingy lighting of this sticky-floored bar. "What do I get if I win?"
Ace's eyes twinkle, then crinkle at the edges with his smile. "Anything you want."
You mull over it, trace a finger over the next shot on the table. After much debate, you look back up. "Your hat," you say, "I want your hat."
Ace looks startled for a second, hand moving reflexively to brush the wide, weather-worn brim of his hat. "You sure about that, sugar? You know what the rule about that is, right?"
For all his flirting, Ace is still a gentleman and he watches you, trying to get a good read on your intentions with this as well. Silly little "rule" aside, Ace wants to make sure you know that if you want to draw the line here, he'll respect it.
You eye him, taking in the freckles across his face to the slope of his neck, the tanned skin you've watched the tight work of muscle beneath when he helps move hay bales ㅡ and your eyes flick back to lock with his.
"Hat or no hat," you say, "I know what I want."
ㅡ
Ace is no stranger to alcohol, but he swears the remnants of bourbon from your mouth tastes better than anything that could come from a bottle.
He chases the soft warmth of your mouth, groaning softly when your fingers find his hair, the scrape of your nails against his scalp making him shiver and press closer.
He kisses you until you're breathless, the world spinning as he shifts his attention to the upward tug of your shirt, warm fingers curious against your skin.
His hands drift over your ribs as he slots a leg between yours, grinning when your hips rock against his thigh. "Want me that bad, babydoll?"
You glare, effect ruined by the flush of heat in your cheeks, and it only amuses him further as his smile widens, the flash of teeth making you lean up to kiss him again. He grunts at the tightened grip in his hair, sucks in a breath when you nip at his bottom lip.
He knows you're not all doe-eyes and sugar-sweet words, has seen you at work on the ranch ㅡ so when you push at his shoulders, there's firm force behind it.
He lets you back him towards the bed ㅡ this is his room, of course, small and modest but inherently Ace for the handful of decor (a guitar propped in the corner, a framed photo of him and his brothers, a signed poster of some childhood hero of his) ㅡ and topples back with a breathless huff as you follow.
Your legs bracket his, Ace's head tipping back with a groan as you grind down against him. Your shirt is pulled over your head and lost to a corner of his room, and he watches the steady roll of your body against his, flush across his cheeks and creeping down his neck.
"You're tryin' to kill me," he whines, tone playful even as he watches you, lust blown eyes on every move that you make.
"Hardly," you coo back, watch the work of his throat as he swallows and you lean down to kiss him soundly. "Just tame you a little."
Ace barks a laugh when you pull away, though he swallows when you move your attention to the bare expanse of his chest.
You take your time in how and where you mark him, feeding off the hushed gasps and stifled groans you get with the nibble of your teeth in his skin, little patches of claim that he can't say he's upset with. He's been yours for a long time, and he's more than pleased to show off proof of that.
There's a stuttered gasp when you rest at his navel, the dark line of hair that dips below, the answering twitch of him in his jeans. He exhales shakily and inquisitive, seeking fingers find your hair to slip through as you unbutton his pants and tug them down.
The dark happy trail leads to the mess of dark curls and his erection, tip red and leaking ㅡ and he makes a noise best described as a moan and a whine when you lick a wide stripe from base to tip.
"Fuck," he breathes, "gonna be the death of me, sweetheart."
You preen at his words, swell of pride spurring you on as you take him into your mouth. Ace's hips jerk sharply at the wet warmth of your mouth, eyes squeezed shut as he tries desperately not to lose it two seconds into your mouth around him.
But then you begin bobbing your head, hollowing your cheeks ㅡ and Ace swears you really will be the death of him. He tries not to yank too roughly at your hair but he can't help it, breathless apology when he hears you gag.
He throbs in your mouth, shuddering whine leaving his throat when you tongue at the vein on the underside, hissing through his teeth.
"Gonna cum," he manages, chest heaving as you suck a little harder, the muscles of his lower abdomen twitching and tensing before he's cumming with a low groan. You swallow what he has to offer, salty and a little bitter ㅡ and only pull off when he's babbling and yanking at your hair.
"God," Ace wheezes as you kiss your way back up his abdomen, humming at the press of your mouth to his jaw.
"Feel good?" You ask, and he blinks dazedly before he reaches for you, hands warm against your skin as he kisses you, tongue in your mouth and muffling your moan before he's pulling away and urging you further up, adjusting until he's between your legs and smirking up at you.
"We're nowhere near done, babydoll."

Negator (Monster)

(Phyrexian Negator by John Zeleznik)
CR16 NE Medium Aberration (Phyrexian)
(The negator is another iconic creature, although one whose card is simply not up to snuff nowadays- the balance of power has tipped so that its astronomical drawback is not worth the creature you get. Still, the obliterator is clearly a riff on it- and got its own, incredibly aesthetically boring riff later- and even then it's simply too fabulous a design not to use. Can you say "xenomorph"?
Lorewise, these explicitly saw most usage in the leadup to full invasion- perhaps, in a hypothetical Phyrexia campaign, this could be the final boss of the second act, before the REAL invasion force finally arrives.)
CR16 NE Medium Aberration (Phyrexian)
Negators are perfected assassins of Phyrexia, designed to eliminate key targets with compleat efficiency. They are singleminded in this pursuit- one infamous document stated simply "It exists to cease." Indeed, a negator's heart is terribly stilled- they are not known to experience any emotion but the satisfaction of a job well done and the desire to achieve so.
Negators, being stealth operatives and assassins, are rarely used once a full-scale invasion begins, although they are often deployed just in the leadup to it. Each negator is given all Phyrexia knows of its target, and is simply placed as close as Phyrexia can get it without garnering attention and sent to kill. Negators are surprisingly skilled at stealth and disguise, able to walk as a hunched figure through whatever streets it may need to to reach its target, and are surprisingly eloquent and skilled actors when they need to lie. Once it makes its kill, however, a negator rarely makes time for stealth. Such negators will begin a return to Phyrexia (such that they might possibly be reset, reprogrammed, and reused), but generally lack the precautions of one who has yet to make a kill. These assassinations are its purpose; it seems some higher part of it shuts off once it is done.
This wicked creature stands humanoid, with razor sharp claws and a smooth nubby head lined with tiny triangular teeth. Its body is dotted with glasslike hemispheres and wires arcing between body parts.

random loonatics unleashed hcs bc I like childhood comfort show binging
only elites watched loonatics unleashed—so for the ATOM SIZED community who still gaf abt this gem here’s some random hcs I thought of
ACE BUNNY
[+] confident, determined, loving
[-] stubborn, cynical, impulsive
since he’s like. the most heroic MF known to acmetropolis, overconfidence is his thing. sometimes it goes too far and people have to smack some sense into him (lexi & tech, most likely) and y’all thought duck was cocky… ace is cocky and smart vs duck is cocky and dumb.
i imagine he has some sort of cooling eye drops he puts in after battles or over usage of his laser vision.
may wear glasses if needed.
he defo has underlying anxiety about his leader position since he’s basically in charge of the universe and his teammates he considers his family. (he confides in lexi with this eventually)
on a similar note, since he feels the pressure of being the leader, he suppresses his emotions all the time until lexi finds out and they teach each other to heal :’)))))
as much as he and duck annoy the fuck out of each other, they complement each other in the sense that ace needs comedic relief and duck supplies it (bratty ass little brother things)
anime STANNNN. anything that’s got good lore—He and Tech love sword art online. they hook in rev and slam in the second season. he and slam like attack on titan FOR SURE.
duck gives ace social media tips (because ace loves the attention but doesn’t know SHIT ABT creating a following)
japanese culture fascinates him, so he implements traditions and holidays into the loonatics' activities.
stubborn as fuck, it’s his way or the highway. since zadavia has always put him in charge, it's hard for him not to boss people around when he's unable to help. (as seen in s1 ep6)
since in the show it’s hinted all the loonatics are in university, I have ace being the second oldest child. he’s a natural-born leader, but still can’t take certain things seriously. tech is a good influence on him.
LEXI BUNNY
[+] sweet, empathetic, fiesty
[-] emotional, hot-headed, judgemental
she wears noise-cancelling headphones all the time if not needed by others. the absolute peace and quiet she needs to stay sane, tbh
the amount of radio traffic and minds around her causes headaches and migraines—but also some paranoia and slight insanity since she can’t take all of these mind voices all at once. she receives medicine after years of putting it off/testing due to her super powered dna
^^ tech is the one who finds her crying and screaming and he takes care of her until she tells everyone else.
also to touch on that, tech creates wrist bands that lexi can put on. they are supposed to cancel any brain waves or mind reading for a certain amount of time (but not forever, as she is super powered and it’s still a wip for him). (she also needs her powers to protect planet blanc)
actually hates carrots of any sort (minus carrot cake, she would die w/o it) ace thinks she’s crazy.
“can you read this person’s mind” is her biggest gripe and she hates when anyone asks her to do so
due to her upbringing, she hates mean girls and anyone who isn’t a girls girl gets to have a not so nice convo with her.
she’s very social savvy and is always in the newest trends, she hates how self conscious she is but funnily enough she and duck relate to one another and do have shopping sprees and Amazon hauls for therapy 😭
she’d like tiktok but rarely post lol, and when she does her social media pops off
feminist. "oh girls can't be heroes" "girls shouldn't be doing a man's job" SHUT UR TRAP. she will prove u wrong in 1000 different ways.
most popular of the loonatics—she’s the only female.
her age hc I have is she’s third oldest. which kinda leans into my duck/lexi hcs but that’s in another post
TECH E COYOTE
[+] intelligent, punctual, organized
[-] uptight, perfectionist, egotistical
perfectionist syndrome we LOVE HER
he’s so father type (big brother to all of the loonatics, everyone relies on him imo) Ace is the leader, but Tech is the dad 🤪
since he and mallory (mastermind’s) huge falling out, he has a people pleasing complex. this is because he feels guilty about putting her in jail as she is his protégée but knowing what he did was for the best makes him uneasy. so not only does everything have to be perfect, he has a hard time saying no to prevent conflict.
that being said, when it comes to danger and safety he’s gonna put his foot down.
he absolutely loves tinkering with rev. the two of them share one braincell, though. call them thing one and thing two. they’re smart. but not together 😅
while tech likes…well…technology, I feel like he’d also like forensics too. And watching crime shows with Ace and Rev.
he also has a bit of an ego. mostly bc he’s the creator and manager of all the technology in blanc. (And the universe, maybe. at least blanc and acmetropolis.)
has some sort of side gig going on for sponsorships. i hc that he loves to help create new technology, but he'd also like to provide said ideas to companies, kingdoms, etc. usually has the loonatics branding on it.
when his powers upgraded, he had a bit of trouble controlling it to the point where their new HQ had electrical issues for a month. yay metal but also oopsies I can create electrical currents and it’s a lot
the idea of him being immortal due to his regeneration abilities scares him because his friends will eventually die off and he will remain on his own :( (if i had to think about this, so do u.)
very protective of his stuff, and his family. this is not debatable.
he tries to hide itttt but he loves kids. he likes to surprise them with things he makes and teaches them how to build objects (with lego, of course. ain't no way is he letting any cheeto-dusted fingers come in contact with his shit.)
he’s the oldest loonatic NO QUESTION.
REV RUNNER
[+] energetic, comedic, caring
[-] oblivious, childish, sporadic
he’s so baby boy. a child. I love him so.
adhd brain on TOP
fears rejection, but works on it with lexi helping him out
I think he’d also play league with lexi and ace.
he loves running around fast, obviously but he also likes to stop and enjoy views when he can. (Defo uses the wormholes to escape to sunny places.)
definitely has lists to keep himself organized (and slam, which he is blessed for)
likes mechanical machinery and modifications (hates detailing though, fuck that)
recites the entire bee movie script to tech to annoy him
relies on zadavia for advice frequently. she’s a mother to him and she gives him hugs :))))
knows the best spots in the universe for anything ever, (thanks internal gps)
may the lord bless him bc he loves his brother so so so much that he'd do anything for him. rip is always welcome at hq and they play games/invent shit together :)
would pull pranks on all of the loonatics and he’d get away with it (but duck sees right through him—helps him anyways) since it's shown in season 1, episode 6 that ace and rev like to watch sports/attend games, they'd love other ones that are hockey, basketball and football-oriented. (since this is the future and all, the sport they play in this episode is based on soccer anyway) duck is also part of this too.
the metabolism popped off this man can EAT. since he's already burning it off. He's unlike slam though—he eats at a regular speed due to conversation-making.
youngest loonatic.
SLAM TASMANIAN
[+] strong, resilient, comforting
[+] aggressive, uncontrolled, moody
has a hard time with expressing himself due to the language barrier b/w him and the civilians.
good news tho, rev and duck help him to learn english :DDD they get him to read a ton of things (rev with different books while duck just shows him magazines with him as the street model LMFAO, also trends and stuff.)
has an action figure collection that if touched, a tornado will destroy your room. (he had them before the meteor hit, as a coping mechanism from all the fighting he did)
obvi fave food is pizza, specifically meat lovers
gets into origami to control his mind. lexi loves doing this w him :)
tech and slam love to do weapon tests together bc slam is BEEFY and withstands more injury than people think.
ace and slam train together the most. it helps both of them with tiny/large targets.
desperately wants a cat, a kitten, something cat related… but ace says no all the time bc it serves “as a distraction” from their job (ace is delulu ignore him)
a chef. amazing in the kitchen. cooks all the food for the house. a WHOLESOME MAN. watches the food network LMAO
gives the best hugs.
VERY BROTHER BEAR VIBES, he'll tell someone straight up to NOT FUCK W HIS FAMILY. just DON'T.
third youngest loonatic but acts older
DANGER DUCK
[+] loyal, self-aware, amusing
[-] arrogant, overbearing, hypocritical
u know this man is one of the ✨g w o r l s ✨
he attends drag shows with rev and lexi (DID I STUTTER ??? I think not.)
he doesn’t give a FUCK this man will do what he wants, when he wants, for as long as he wants. (until ace or zadavia gives him shit, whoever comes first) attention-seeker, but rightfully so as he is very much overshadowed by all of his teammates, when in reality he is the strongest and most deadly loonatic. i mean think abt it. he has three powers. the most out of all the loonatics. ace has laser vision. lexi has telepathy. tech can manipulate metallic objects and regenerate. rev has super speed and is a human gps. slam can create storms/tornados. DUCK HAS THE POWER TO CREATE HOT LAVA ORBS (EGGS), MANIPULATE WATER, AND TELEPORT. u see the vision???
it also doesn't help when zadavia is always shitting on him for his character. in her defense, he is a superhero and should be a good influence and in a professional manner, when in his defense, he should at least be praised and acknowledged for the work he puts in...js.
TAKES HIS TRAINING SERIOUSLY EVEN IF HE USES IT AS A VIDEO GAME SIM— HE'S ON IT IN SECONDS.
he does get a bit depressed abt the whole overshadowing thing sometimes. but he's so cocky that he hypes himself up and forgets it ever happened.
HIS APPEARANCE IS EVERYTHING TO HIM, which is why he and lexi hang out a lot when lexi is in need of a break. THEY LOVE THE SALON.
he helps the men eventually with tinder profiles so they can get out there and find romance and shit (but not lexi, since she knows she can get whoever she wants) he's pretty successful at it too.
BOARD GAME CHAMPION. BACK-TO-BACK MAY I ADD. Slam hates it bc he almost clutches the win but duck suddenly has a trick up his sleeve then BAAM. winner winner pizza dinner. his favourite board game is monopoly. (for obvious reasons, mans' needs to be able to manage his money for future investments.)
if he could be on a version of america's next top model, he would.
might be a sarcastic asshole, but does deeply care about his family, and other beings for that matter ( I mean, s2 ep12 ANYONE ??) tweetums was his everything that WAS HIS SON.
trolls people on club penguin with rev, don't ask, I just know.
blogger typa beat. is the social media editor and influencer for the team.
second youngest, but acts like the youngest LMAO
aaaaand that's it for now, i will make separate hc posts for pairings (platonic and romantic) and obvs the loonatics in general, so stay tuned. :)
if u read this far u THE GOAT >:D
#faves: lu#loonatics unleashed#loonatics unleashed hcs#viv speaks#i love the loonatics and u will never hear the end of it nope not ever#i thought long and hard about these ok#i think i did a pretty good job !!!#but yeah i love my kids sm so take some brain mush#ace bunny#lexi bunny#slam tasmanian#tech e coyote#danger duck#rev runner#MORE SOON

Sally face fanfic
hi, i need opinions on the first chapter to a fanfic i wrote back in early 2023, i stopped writing after the 4th chapter. please give me tips and or suggestions, and lmk if i should continue writing this (if so, i desperately need ideas!!!!)
TW: abuse & f slur usage

Control:
Chapter 1: Travis.
Travis has always been a child of god.
Every morning and night Travis takes time to pray.
Today, Travis slipped on his favorite purple shirt with light purple stripes on the sleeves, kneeled down to get level with his bed, put his elbows on his bed, clasped his hands, and began to pray silently.
"Please god," Travis starts to whisper to himself. "If you are listening. Why--" Suddenly, he was disrupted by the agonizing voice coming from downstairs.
"GET YOUR ASS DOWN HERE RIGHT NOW, TRAVIS!" roared the voice from downstairs.
Travis automatically knew two things. First, his father was mad at him for something.
Second, he was really gonna get it.
Travis hurries on down the stairs, careful not to fall from how fast he was moving. Before he even got down stairs he could see his father standing next to a broken vase.
Travis hesitantly walked up to his father, knowing he was in for a world of hurt.
"Do you boy have ANY clue who broke this vase!?" he asked aggressively while spit was flying from his mouth to Travis's face. Travis knew that there was no way out of this. Even if he told his da-, father, how he broke the vase himself (which is the truth) he wouldn't believe a word that comes out of his mouth.
"I-," Travis says shakily, then coughs in hope to sturdy his voice. "I-- I don't know sir." He says trying to not make eye contact with the beast.
"BULLSHIT BOY. YOU'RE TELLING ME YOU DON'T KNOW?!" he yells into Travis's face.
Travis stays silent. It'll only make it worse--
"GUESS I'LL JUST BEAT THE ANSWER OUT OF YOU." Kenneth yells while pushing Travis to the ground, getting on top of him, and repeatedly punching him.
After what felt like forever, Kenneth stood up, kicked Travis's stomach,
"Weak." he stated.
He walked away while mumbling something like "Stupid, worthless weakling" or something along the lines of how Travis was a disappointment to the Phelps' bloodline.
while it was a struggle to even move, Travis successfully stood up, picked up his backpack from the floor beside the door, and headed off to school.
Travis knew when and when not to speak, like today. Today was one of those days where for the most part, its better to keep quiet than cause a ruckus. Today was also the day before Travis's favorite day, Bologna Sandwich day.
While in the Math classroom, it felt like eternity before the bell rung. It didn't help that there was a test that Travis had not studied up on. He stared down the paper for what felt like 10 minutes with nothing on the paper. He hoped something would come to him as he had no fucking clue what any of the answers were.
"Excuse me, Mr. Fisher." said Mrs. Packerton in hopes to wake the sleeping boy up. He didn't wake.
"Sal, wake up!" she said with a rise in her voice, trying to wake him up. finally he rose from his sleeping spot on the desk.
"Huh?" He mumbled
"That doesn't look like math to me." she stated as an observation.
"Oh sorry, I must have dozed off. I already finished the test." He replied back
Travis's eyes immediately darted to Sal's paper as he tried to get a peak at his work.
"I know, dear. You aced it as well, very good. Just try to stay awake for the remainder of class, okay?" asked the teacher.
'aced it?' Travis clung on to those two words as he started to eagerly stare at Sal's paper and copy down the work.
"Sure, it won't happen again." He assured Mrs. Packerton.
Before Travis could finish copying down the first part of the test, he was disrupted by the teacher calling him out by saying
"And Mr. Phelps. Eyes on your own paper."
"Humph!" Travis grumbled as he went back to staring at his test blankly. At least he got a little bit copied down, Better than nothing.
"Class is almost over. Make sure everyone hands in their tests before leaving." She tells the class
not long later, the bell rings dismissing the class. Travis hands in his test and walks out of the classroom, into the hallway. Travis glances around and spots a blue hair, pigtailed, mask wearing, freak in the hallway talking with his little 'photographer wannabe' girlfriend.
'Stupid. Ugly. Faggot.'
Those words repeat in the back of Travis's mind while he clenches his fists and walks up to Sally face.
"Hey, freak!" Travis starts the conversation off by saying aggressively. "Nobody likes a goody-two-shoes, Saaally Face." he says in a snarky way.
"Nobody likes a cliché bully, Traaavis." Sal retorts back.
"Don't you have something better to do?" Ash asks while budding in to their conversation.
"Shut up, bitch! I wasn't talking to you." Travis says in response to Ashley
"You know, if you took that stick out of your ass you may actually enjoy yourself for once. Maybe even make a friend or two." Sal says trying to defend Ash against him.
Travis almost immediately responded by saying "Fuck off, faggot! I have more friends than you'll ever have!" Travis knew that what he just said was clearly a lie, but it didn't look like Sal noticed, because in response he asked
"You kiss your daddy with that tongue? I'm sure he-"
Before he could finish what he was going to say, Travis, in a fit of rage, takes his clenched fist and throws it at the blue boy. Even though Travis isn't the one dealing blood, all he could do is run away with tears falling down from his eyes in frustration.
"What the hell, asshole?!" Travis hears Ashley say not so far down the hall.
Travis just keeps running, finding the nearest bathroom, going into one of the stalls, and silently crying.
Weirdly enough, he wasn't really crying about what he'd said about his dad.
Travis found himself crying over the fact he had just punched stupid Sally face.
To add to the fact, he was starting to wonder if he was okay considering the glimpse that he got of the blood peeping out of his mask.
Would he hate him?

"AC Maintenance Tips for Homes and Businesses in Saudi Arabia’s Harsh Climate"

Air conditioning systems are vital for both homes and businesses in Saudi Arabia, where temperatures often soar to extreme levels. Ensuring that your AC unit functions at its best is essential not only for comfort but also for maintaining efficiency and reducing energy costs. Proper maintenance can prevent unexpected breakdowns during the hottest months, while also prolonging the lifespan of your system.
To maintain an efficient and reliable cooling system, many property owners opt for professional AC maintenance services to ensure their air conditioning units stay in top condition. Regular maintenance services can help identify potential issues before they escalate, avoiding costly repairs or the need for a full replacement.
1. Regular Filter Cleaning and Replacement
One of the simplest yet most effective maintenance tasks for any air conditioning system is regular filter cleaning or replacement. In Saudi Arabia’s dusty environment, filters can quickly become clogged with dust and debris, making the system work harder and reducing efficiency. Dirty filters restrict airflow, which not only increases energy usage but also decreases the unit's ability to cool properly. For both homes and businesses, it is recommended to clean or replace filters every one to three months, depending on the frequency of use.
2. Inspect and Clean Condenser Coils
The outdoor unit of your air conditioning system contains condenser coils that are responsible for releasing the heat absorbed from the indoor air. These coils are exposed to the elements, and in a harsh climate like Saudi Arabia, dust, dirt, and debris can easily accumulate. When the coils are dirty, the system's ability to dissipate heat is compromised, leading to reduced cooling performance and higher energy consumption. Regular cleaning of the condenser coils helps ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
3. Check Refrigerant Levels
For your AC system to cool effectively, it needs the correct amount of refrigerant. Low refrigerant levels can lead to inadequate cooling, causing the system to run longer and work harder. Over time, this can increase wear and tear on the unit and even lead to system failure. It’s important to have a professional check refrigerant levels during routine maintenance and top off as necessary to keep your system running smoothly.
4. Inspect Ductwork for Leaks
Leaky ductwork can significantly affect the efficiency of your air conditioning system, as cool air escapes before it reaches its intended destination. For businesses and larger properties, this can result in uneven cooling, higher energy bills, and an overworked AC unit. Regularly inspecting ductwork for leaks or gaps and sealing them as needed will help ensure that your air conditioning system is delivering cooled air efficiently.
5. Schedule Professional Maintenance
In Saudi Arabia’s extreme climate, scheduling professional AC maintenance at least twice a year is highly recommended. Professional technicians have the knowledge and tools to thoroughly inspect your system, clean essential components, and identify potential problems before they escalate. Businesses, in particular, can benefit from having a comprehensive maintenance plan to avoid costly downtime due to AC failure.
Whether you own a small home or manage a large commercial facility, regular AC rental service and maintenance are crucial for ensuring the longevity and efficiency of your cooling systems.
6. Optimize Thermostat Settings
Maintaining an optimal temperature setting on your thermostat can greatly impact energy usage and overall system performance. In Saudi Arabia, where temperatures can reach extreme highs, setting your thermostat just a few degrees higher can significantly reduce the strain on your AC unit. Additionally, programmable thermostats allow you to set different temperatures based on your schedule, which can help save energy when cooling is not needed.
7. Keep the Area Around the Outdoor Unit Clear
The outdoor unit of your air conditioner needs adequate airflow to function properly. Debris such as leaves, dirt, and plants can obstruct the airflow, causing the unit to work harder and reducing its efficiency. Regularly check and clear any debris from around the outdoor unit, and make sure that there is at least two feet of clearance on all sides to promote optimal airflow.
8. Ensure Proper Ventilation
Ventilation plays a crucial role in the effectiveness of your AC system, particularly in business settings where large numbers of people and equipment generate heat. Poor ventilation can increase humidity levels, making it harder for your air conditioner to cool the space. Make sure that vents and return air registers are not blocked by furniture or other obstructions, and consider using ceiling fans to help distribute cool air more evenly throughout the space.
Conclusion
Maintaining your air conditioning system is essential in Saudi Arabia’s harsh climate, where efficient cooling is a necessity rather than a luxury. By following these AC maintenance tips, you can ensure that your system operates efficiently, keeps energy costs under control, and provides reliable cooling when you need it most.
Investing in regular AC maintenance service is key to extending the life of your system and avoiding the discomfort and expense of unexpected breakdowns. Whether for a home or business, proper maintenance is a proactive step toward achieving consistent and cost-effective cooling year-round.

ooh! so your spirit guides are calling judgement on your free time usage, honey! 'you shook me all night long - ac/dc' is also playing in my head and it's like while this is all fun shaking, it's like they see you also like distracting yourself all night long when you promised them some creative time! they're calling judgment that they want the creative thing to happen first thing before we have fun and the waste the night away! they're saying even a try is better than nothing! so like just close your eyes and give your creative activity even fifteen or so minutes and if you still got nothing, then move on! they don't mind if you get stuck but they and the creativity activity just don't want to be forgotten and pushed off until it's already time for bed! you know you want to! even if hard! lol and then back to fun or whatever you want to do!
hope you enjoyed it! please give feedback or buy me a coffee/tip when you can! if you want to explore this further, please also consider a private read. also thank you for sharing with me!♡

Mastering Basic Life Support Exams A and B: Your Guide to Success
Mastering Basic Life Support Exams A and B: Your Guide to Success
At Pulse CPR and First Aid School, we understand the importance of excelling in your Basic Life Support (BLS) certification exams. Whether you're preparing for Exam A or B, our comprehensive guide will help you master the essential skills and knowledge needed to pass with flying colors. Let's dive into what you need to know about the American Heart Association's Basic Life Support Exams A and B.
Understanding Basic Life Support Exams A and B
The American Heart Association (AHA) offers two primary versions of the BLS exam: Exam A and Exam B. Both exams assess your ability to perform high-quality CPR, use an AED, and manage choking scenarios. Here’s a breakdown of what each exam entails:
Exam A Overview
Number of Questions: 25
Focus Areas:
Adult, child, and infant CPR techniques
AED usage
Team dynamics in resuscitation
Responding to airway obstructions
Importance of early defibrillation
Effective communication during CPR
Exam B Overview
Number of Questions: 25
Focus Areas:
Similar to Exam A with slight variations in scenario-based questions
Emphasis on teamwork and detailed understanding of CPR cycles
Handling special circumstances like drowning or medication patches
Key Topics Covered in Both Exams
CPR Techniques
Knowing the correct ratios and techniques for chest compressions and rescue breaths is crucial. For instance, the standard ratio for 1-rescuer adult CPR is 30 compressions to 2 breaths. For infants, it's also important to remember specific guidelines, like using two fingers for compressions if you are alone.
AED Usage
Understanding how to properly use an AED is a critical component. Remember to:
Turn on the AED as soon as it arrives.
Apply the pads correctly on the victim's bare chest.
Follow the AED prompts accurately.
Team Dynamics
Effective resuscitation often involves teamwork. Key elements include:
Clear roles and responsibilities
Knowing your limitations
Mutual respect and effective communication
Responding to Airway Obstructions
Both exams test your ability to respond to choking incidents. For instance, if an infant is choking and becomes unresponsive, start CPR and check the mouth for the obstructing object before giving breaths.
Importance of Early Defibrillation
Early defibrillation can significantly improve survival rates during cardiac arrest. Both exams emphasize the importance of using an AED promptly and following its instructions to restore a normal heart rhythm.
Tips for Success
Study Regularly: Consistent study sessions can help reinforce the material.
Practice Hands-On Skills: Practical experience is invaluable. Use manikins to practice CPR and AED usage.
Review AHA Guidelines: Ensure you are familiar with the latest AHA guidelines for BLS.
Take Practice Tests: Familiarize yourself with the exam format by taking practice tests for both Exam A and Exam B.

it's a small thing, but I'm going to add it: if you have a window unit you should be able to put mosquito netting over the intake? outtake? whatever part would be letting in small bugs so that they stay out but cool air comes in. I know some fabric stores sell it, but look into other options that you can use in a pinch if you really need that window unit but really want to keep bugs out. you may need to check it regularly in case something gets stuck in there but it's something.
also all the stuff that saying lay down, keep the lights off, and all that is important; your body cools down when you go to sleep at night so not moving will also help you cool down. this is speaking as a southerner who doesn't see a point in cranking up the AC because they're hot right in that moment when they can just lie down for 30 minutes under the ceiling fan in a dark room and cool off. also most light bulbs do give off heat, we're keeping most of the lights off to save on power both from light usage and from keeping the temperature inside as low as possible.
also this may seem obvious, but avoid cooking during the day if you can! whether it's stove top or oven that stuff makes heat, so heat waves might be a good time to look at no cook dinners. if you have to cook and you have a hood over your stove that vents to the outside turn that sucker on, it'll take smoke and hot air from cooking out of the building.
dealing with the summer heat with no AC is a trial I wouldn't wish on anyone. if anyone who follows me has any more tips they think would be helpful, feel free to add!
For all of the northerners that stood up for Texas during our freeze and said, "Don't make fun of them, they've never dealt with this before. Their infrastructure isn't made for snow and freezing."
This one is for you.
Where I live 108°F with 80% humidity with no wind is normal.
Pacific North West is dealing historic best waves 35-40°C or 95-105°F.
First of all. Don't make fun of them for bitching about the heat. Just like Texas isn't built for a freeze and our pipes burst, Pacific North West isn't built for heat and a lot of their homes don't have AC.
If you live somewhere with a high humidity like 80+ HUMIDITY IS NOT YOUR FRIEND. The "humidity makes it feel cooler" is a lie once it gets beyond a point.
If you live somewhere with a lower humidity, misters are nice to cool off outside.
Once you get over 90°F (32°C) a fan will not help you. It's just pushing around hot air. (I mean if you can't afford a small AC unit because they're expensive as hell, by all means a fan is better than nothing).
If you have pets, those portable AC units aren't safe. If your pets destroy the outtake thing, it'll leak CO2. Window units are safer.
Window AC units will let mosquitoes or other small bugs in. Sucks, but that's life.
Now is not the time to me modest. If you have to cover for religious reasons, by all means. If you don't, I've seen people wear short shorts and a swim top. It's not trashy if it keeps you from getting heat stroke.
If you do have to cover up for religious reasons, look for elephant pants or something similar. They're made with a breathable material.
Shade is better than no shade, but that shit it just diet sun after some point. Don't think shade will save you from heat stroke.
I know the "drink your water" is a fun meme now, but if you're sweating excessively you need electrolytes. Drink Gatorade, Powerade, or Pedialite PLEASE. I don't care if you're fucking sitting in one spot all day. That shit WILL save you from heat stroke.
Most importantly. RESEARCH THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HEAT STROKE AND HEAT EXHAUSTION PLEASE!
If you're diabetic and can't drink Gatorade, mix water, fruit juice, and either lite salt or pink salt
If you can afford it, cover windows with thick curtains to insulate the house
If you have tile floors, lay on them with skin to tile contact. If you don't, laying your head on cool counters works too.
If the temperature where you're at is hotter than your body temperature, don't wear heat wicking clothing. Moisture wicking is safe though.
Check your medication labels. Many make you more susceptible to sun and heat
-Room temperature water will get into your body faster. This is something I learned doing marching band in high summer in Georgia, and it saved all of our asses. Sip it, don't gulp it, especially if you're getting into the red; same goes for whatever fluid you're drinking. And just in general drink during the day.
-If you are moving from an air conditioned space to an un-air conditioned space, if at all possible try to make the shift gradual. When my dad and I were working outside and in un-ac houses a few years ago, he'd turn the air down to low in the truck about ten-fifteen minutes before we got where we were going. This way your body doesn't go from low low temps to high temps. S'bad for you.
-If you can, keep your lights off during the day. Light bulbs may not generate a lot of heat, but the difference is noticeable when it gets hot enough. I literally only turn my bedroom light on in the evening when it gets too dark.
Don't be afraid to just like... pour water on yourself if you need to. The evaporation will cool you off.
Put your hand to the cement for 15 seconds. If you can't handle the heat, it'll burn your dog's paws. Don't let them walk on it.
Dogs with flat faces are more prone to heat stroke. Don't leave them out unsupervised.
Frozen fruit is delicious in water.
Wet/Cold hat/handkerchief on your head/neck will help you stay cool.
Pickle juice is great for electrolytes! You can even make pickle juice Popsicles!
Heat exhaustion is more, "drink water and get you cooled off." Heat stroke is more "Oh my god call 911."
Image Description provided by @loveize
[Image description: an infographic showing the difference between heat exhaustion and heat stroke. The graphic is labeled "Heat Dangers: First Warning." Signs of heat exhaustion: faint or dizzy, excessive sweating, cool, pale, clammy skin, rapid, weak pulse, muscle cramps. If you think you or someone else may be experiencing heat exhaustion, get to a cool, air-conditioned place, drink water if conscious, and take a cool shower or use cold compress. Signs of heat stroke: throbbing headache, no sweating, red, hot, dry skin, rapid, strong pulse, may lose consciousness. If you think you or someone else may be experiencing heat stroke, call 911. End description]
Be safe.

Stay Cool Year-Round: Top-Rated AC Repair Services in Kolkata You Can Trust
As the mercury rises in Kolkata, air conditioners become more than a luxury—they’re a necessity. From humid summers to unseasonably warm winters, a well-functioning AC is vital for comfort and productivity. But like any appliance, AC units require regular maintenance and occasional repairs to keep them running smoothly. That’s why finding dependable AC repair services in Kolkata is essential for every homeowner or business.
In this blog, we’ll explore the importance of AC repair, the common issues people face, and what to look for in a trusted repair service in Kolkata.

Why Timely AC Repair Matters
Postponing or ignoring AC issues can lead to more serious (and expensive) problems down the line. A minor fault can escalate into a major breakdown, especially during peak usage periods. Here’s why prompt repairs are critical:
Energy Efficiency: A faulty AC works harder to cool the space, increasing your electricity bill.
Air Quality: Dirty filters and faulty parts can affect indoor air quality and trigger allergies.
Longer Lifespan: Timely repairs help extend the life of your AC system.
Comfort & Safety: A reliable cooling system maintains consistent temperature and prevents overheating of electrical components.
Common AC Issues in Kolkata Homes & Offices
Kolkata’s humid climate puts unique stress on AC systems. Here are the most frequent problems AC repair services in Kolkata deal with:
Refrigerant Leaks – Often due to corrosion or loose fittings, these reduce cooling efficiency.
Clogged Air Filters – Dust accumulation leads to poor airflow and overworked compressors.
Compressor Failure – Can be caused by overheating, electrical issues, or lack of maintenance.
Thermostat Problems – Faulty thermostats result in inconsistent temperatures.
Water Leakage – Improper drainage or clogged pipes can cause indoor leaks.
Whether you have a split AC, window unit, or central air system, trained technicians can diagnose and fix these issues quickly.
What to Expect from Professional AC Repair Services in Kolkata
When you hire a reputed service provider, you get more than just a quick fix. Here’s what the best companies offer:
1. Thorough Diagnosis
Professionals start by identifying the root cause of the issue using advanced tools and techniques.
2. Transparent Estimates
You should receive a clear quote before any work begins—no hidden charges.
3. Genuine Spare Parts
Reputable services use manufacturer-approved parts to ensure durability.
4. Experienced Technicians
Certified professionals with hands-on expertise guarantee quality workmanship.
5. Emergency Support
Top services offer same-day or 24/7 support—perfect for urgent breakdowns during hot spells.
How to Choose the Right AC Repair Service in Kolkata
With so many options available, how do you know who to trust? Keep these tips in mind:
Check Reviews & Ratings – Look for consistently high feedback on Google or JustDial.
Ask for Referrals – Friends and neighbors can point you to reliable providers.
Compare Prices – Balance cost with reputation—cheapest isn’t always best.
Warranty on Repairs – Good services offer guarantees on their work and parts.
Customer Support – Friendly, responsive communication is a big plus.
Don’t Wait—Get Your AC Repaired Today!
Your air conditioner should keep you cool—not cause stress. With rising temperatures in Kolkata, now is the best time to schedule a check-up or repair. Regular servicing not only improves performance but also saves money on energy and future breakdowns.
Whether you're dealing with a minor issue or a full system failure, choose an AC repair service that values transparency, professionalism, and quick turnarounds. Stay cool, breathe clean, and enjoy uninterrupted comfort with the right experts by your side.
