On recent far-left attacks on the Anti-Defamation League
Before we start:
- I think the ADL is wrong about Musk's salutes.
- I think the ADL's Israel advocacy sometimes comes into conflict with their mission in the diaspora. I think their methodologies for data collection and reporting need improvement.
- I think that the ADL is flawed, imperfect and does much more good than harm.
---
Christopher Hitchens put into words what academics used to live by:
"What can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence".
The burden of proof is on those making the claim, and the claims of droptheadl.org aren't supported with primary sources or evidence.
For example:
To support its claims about the ADL and SNCC, droptheadl.org offers a link, presenting it as a citation.
Tumblr media
This is a link to a Google Books entry. There's no actual text, no citation, no chapter, no page, just the claim that somewhere in this 300-page book exists proof of the ADL denouncing SNCC as racist.
However, that's not in the book. Chapter two talks about this incident in detail, so I read it.
In reaponse to a SNCC newsletter (this is what a primary source looks like!) containing many factual errors about Israel,
...Morris Abram, president of the American Jewish Committee (AJC), summed up their outrage: “Anti-Semitism is anti-Semitism whether it comes from the Ku Klux Klan or from extremist Negro groups
[For those who haven't studied the era: at this point, "Negro" was still the word which the black community preferred. The transition to widespread identification as 'black' got going in the 60s and finished in the 70s. The use of the word 'Negro' here is not a slur. I state this in advance because I know how the illiberal left weilds its willful ignorance]
...
Abram was also careful to echo what the ADL had said: that SNCC’s article put it in the same anti-Israeli trench as the Arab world and the Soviet Union.
That's verifiably, unquestionably true. That's the position SNCC took, because that's where they got their information.
Droptheadl.org lied. This book doesn't say what they claim it says, which is why they didn't quote it or offer a specific citation. Why let facts get in the way of the narrative which makes them feel good about themselves?
The book, which I recommend reading, isn't about the ADL. It's a scholarly examination of the relationships between the wars the Arab world launched on Israel and the US Civil Rights Movement. This requires much discussion of the impact on the complex relationships between black communities and Jewish communities in the US in the context of their views on Israel and Palestine.
It's fascinating. Here's another excerpt illustrating why many Jews saw SNCC as taking an antisemitic turn:
One day in May of 1967, [Stokely] Carmichael and [H. Rap] Brown were in Alabama chatting with Donald Jelinek, a lawyer who worked with SNCC.
Jelinek, who was Jewish, expressed his positive feelings about Israel and his concerns about the Jewish state’s situation in that tension-filled month as war clouds were on the horizon in the Middle East.
“So it was a shock to me,” Jelinek later recounted, “when my SNCC friends mildly indicated support for the Arabs.” Mildly stated or not, their sentiments prompted Jelinek to reply, “But they may wipe out and destroy Israel.”
Carmichael adroitly changed the subject with some humor, and the men began laughing.
Jelinek thereafter overheard Brown quietly singing to himself, “arms for the Arabs, sneakers for the Jews.” When Jelinek asked him what that song meant, an embarrassed Brown explained that he had learned the song as a student in Louisiana. It implied that the Israelis would need sneakers (tennis shoes) to run from the Arabs, who were armed with weapons from abroad.
My qualms with this, my disappointment in and disagreement with both Carmichael and Brown doesn't make me a racist. It doesn't make the AJC or the ADL racist and it doesn't make Jelinek, the Jewish lawyer working with SNCC, a racist or a poor ally.
Zionism is the belief that Jews should have self-determination in their homeland.
Nazism was the belief that racially superior Aryans own the world, should be organized through fascist methods, and that the genocide of the Jewish people was explicitly required because they were the source of all evil and the obstacle to progress.
These are not the same. Suggesting they are the same, as Carmichael did, is morally and intellectually bankrupt. Pointing this out doesn't make me a racist. It makes me literate.
I still own a copy of Carmichael's book, Black Power. Carmichael (who later changed his name to Kwame Ture) was a complex person. Like every other historical figure, he was neither a saint nor a demon.
I can admire a lot about the Black Panthers without falsely claiming that nothing they ever did or said was troubling, poorly reasoned, or bigoted. The world is more complex than that.
There are no saints. Learn this important truth and use it to guide your understanding of the world around you. There are no saints.
Gandhi, for instance, was a great leader for Indian self-rule and a visionary of nonviolent protest. He was also a racist as a young man who said black people "...are troublesome, very dirty and live like animals." Read about his work in South Africa. He was also really weird about sex and slept naked with his grand niece, which we rightly recognize today as sexual abuse. He wasn't a saint or a demon, he was a person.
People are complex and flawed. If you want to understand people, history, and movements, wrap your head around this as keep it with you: People and their movements are complex and flawed.
But the depth of reasoning I see from the illiberal left is "ADL criticized SNCC, so they're Nazis."
No, child. The world is much, much more complex than that. Why did you go to college if you weren't going to learn anything there?
My 14yo is right. US leftists (not liberals, leftists) are allergic to nuance and discard the facts contradicting any narrative which makes them feel good about themselves.
Selah
Deep breath in, slow breath out.
The book is really delves into some of the factors contributing to the deteriorating relationship at the time between Jewish Americans and Black Americans. It points to this essay by James Baldwin, titled "Negroes Are Anti-Semitic Because They're Anti-White." I urge you to read it, it is a fascinating artifact of its time and place.
And this:
Jews had long advocated for black liberation by, for example, playing a role in the foundation of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) in 1909. Jewish support for blacks was well known; as early as February of 1942, the American Jewish Committee published a study titled “Jewish Contribution to Negro Welfare.” Having experienced the sting of anti-Semitism, many Jews believed they were fighting in the same trench against discrimination alongside African Americans. When the civil rights struggle grew to become a mass movement in the 1950s and early 1960s, Jewish moral and financial support was crucial, and Jews were disproportionately well-represented among those whites who lent their support to the cause. Jewish financial contributions to civil rights groups were also significant. Jews even were the subject of criticism from some southern whites for the high-profile role they played in helping blacks win their freedom. All this compounded a sense of betrayal by SNCC that was felt by many Jewish Americans.
It should not be surprising or taken as racist that Jews objected to SNCC's advocacy against Israel's existence and I maintain that any call for Israel to be destroyed is innately, inarguably antisemitic. No other nation endures calls for its destruction. Just the Jewish one.
There was unquestionably tension between SNCC and the entire spectrum of non-black Americans who supported SNCC when SNCC ejected non-black members. From our perspective, decades removed, I can understand both why SNCC members narrowly voted for this AND why non-black members of SNCC were hurt and disillusioned. All of those perspectives were (and are) valid.
When I was an undergrad studying African American Political Thought, we discussed these tensions head-on, using primary sources, and evaluated them dispassionately.
We concluded that there are no villains in this story. SNCC got a bunch of facts wrong about Israel, their staunch Jewish allies were profoundly disappointed, saw hypocrisy in SNCC's position, and said so.
I think that far left Americans overlaid their feelings about a domestic struggle on a foreign one where they don't fit...and then discarded the facts and the complexity which got in the way of a satisfying narrative which made them feel like the good guys instead of forcing them to grapple with an uncomfortably complex reality.
I think that's what the illiberal left still does. It doesn't like complexity, it doesn't like academic rigor, it likes stories it can tell itself about its moral purity and discards facts, complexity, or rigor which threaten their view of themselves as saviors.
The world is complex. People are complex. Movements are complex. Organizations are complex. History is complex. Justice is complex.
The ADL isn't perfect, its leaders haven't been and are not saints or tzadikim, but the good they do for all Americans radically outweighs their failings and I'm going to keep supporting them while yelling at them to do better.
If you're an ADL hater and have any actual evidence and primary sources on racism from the ADL, I really want to see it, because this weak sauce from droptheadl.org doesn't make the case the illiberal left thinks it makes. And they'd know that if they had learned anything in college about how scholarship works and how arguments are constructed.
The illiberal left perhaps forgets how the ADL responded when Trump called for requiring American Muslims to register.
“If one day Muslim Americans will be forced to register their identities, then that is the day that this proud Jew will register as a Muslim. ”
- ADL chief executive Jonathan Greenblatt

Hi, can I ask what OT means? I scrolled a bit on your blog but could not find an explanation. Is it something like caregiver?
Have a great day/night!
OT is the abbreviation for “occupational therapist”. They work on skills like fine motor control (handwriting, picking up small objects, anything that involves small, precise movements of the fingers and hands); sensory integration (decreasing reactivity to sensory input like bright lights or loud sounds); and activities of daily living (“ADLs”) like dressing, eating, grooming, etc.
Other abbreviations you might see are PT, for “physical therapist” and SLP, for “speech-language pathologist” (speech therapist).
Thanks for asking!

Kingsley Wilson, a Department of Defense official who has repeatedly echoed antisemitic rhetoric online, will serve as the Pentagon’s new press secretary, according to an announcement Friday.
“Kingsley’s leadership has been integral to the DoD’s success & we look forward to her continued service to President Trump!,” said Sean Parnell, the chief Pentagon spokesman and a senior advisor to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, in a post on X Friday.
Wilson reposted the announcement to her X account, writing that she was, “Honored to serve President Trump and our warfighters 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸.”
Wilson was appointed in January as deputy press secretary at the Pentagon and faced backlash from the Anti-Defamation League as well as several senators for a history of promoting antisemitic conspiracy theories. Last year, Wilson tweeted a neo-Nazi talking point about Jewish lynching victim Leo Frank, whose murder spurred the ADL’s creation.
The American Jewish Committee called for her removal in a post on X in March.
“Anyone who posts antisemitic conspiracy theories lifted right out of the neo-Nazi playbook should not be in public office,” the post read. “Kingsley Wilson, newly appointed @DepPressSecDOD, is clearly unfit for her role.”
She has also tweeted several times in support of the “Great Replacement” theory, whose original version contends that Jews are orchestrating the replacement of majority-white nations with immigrants of color.
The Jewish Democratic Council of America also condemned the appointment in a post on Bluesky, writing, “Antisemitism has no place in government. This administration is infested with antisemitism.”
The Department of Defense did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

♛ → THE VALE presents YOUNES CORBRAY, the LORD of HEART’S HOME. when the dragons danced in the sky they thought the BLACKS would still fly, but in the blink of an eye, they would all die. the THIRTY year old CIS MAN who was RESILIENT & INDEPENDANT before they saw the first of the flames, is now CYNICAL & UNPREDICTABLE after seeing the last. they’re often associated with once-fine armour, now worn and dented from use, the roar of a jubilant crowd, the restless movements of a house never truly at ease. ( boran kuzum )
history.
house corbray is an old house, with a long lineage, but bad luck through the generations have led them to hard times. this began during the time of maegor the cruel, due to their support of aegon the uncrowned which saw them stripped of lands they have never managed to recover, and it’s all been downhill from there.
younes was the second-born son of house corbray, however, his elder brother, imran, rarely ventures from heart’s home. he’s a very lazy man, who has time and time again failed to pick up the mantle of lordship and steer the family into better times. this has left younes to bear his burdens, and younes is the one who bears house corbray’s ancestral weapon, and their final treasure that has not been sold or given away to pay debts - lady forlorn, a smoky grey valyrian longsword with a heart-shaped ruby in the pommel.
despite his brother’s incapabilities, younes feels quite protective over him. he loves his brother dearly, and will not hear a bad word against him. it is quite obvious to all who know the corbrays that the brothers have swapped roles in all but title, with younes acting as the older, and imran as the younger brother, a dynamic which has existed since early childhood.
from the time he could swing a sword, it was all younes desired to become a knight of the vale, and as a member of an old way family, the teachings that he grew up with informed the sort of knight he wanted to be, and the ideals he held of what being a knight would mean. it was this, rather than any andal oath that he used to redefine what knighthood meant to him, choosing seven for each point of the star: adl, for justice, as-syaja'ah for courage, tawadhu for humilty, sabr for patience, amanah for integrity, rahmah for mercy, and ihsan, to strive for excellence in his duties.
younes would go on to fight in the dance of the dragons, where his brother did not. this was perhaps the moment where it became clear to all outside of the inner circle of house corbray that their future rested upon younes’ shoulders, and not imran’s. It was also the period of time when house corbray’s financial struggles would fall upon younes’ shoulders with the passing of his father. there was little younes could do from the battlefield, and so, the corbrays who remained in the vale turned to their already depleted coffers. by the time younes returned from war, there was nothing left, any valuables the family owned sold to see them through. the last thing they have of any real worth is lady forlorn, though that is a treasure younes will never part with.
the years since the dance have brought out the worst in younes, his youthful idealism slowly eroded away by the reality of becoming the breadwinner of a family with little to their name. with no real skill to exploit, nor any natural resources in heart’s home to make a living from, his primary source of money comes from attending, and entering tourneys, and hoping to claim the winner’s purse.
it was tourney participation that first led younes into murkier waters - the offer of a bribe, if he were to intentionally lose, that dwarfed the winner’s purse. and so, he took it. it was the start of a slippery slope for younes, the proof that there was more to be made in dishonesty than doing right by the ideals he set out for himself when he first became a knight. on the downlow, he’s become something of a conman, someone who would dirty his hands simply to stay afloat.
personality.
basics
If nothing else, younes is incredibly resilient. life has hardened him, certainly, but he’s always managed to find a path through.
similarly, none can doubt that he’s a hard worker - he does whatever it takes to provide for his family, with little help from its other members. this is driven by his protective streak, a deep loyalty to those with whom he shares blood.
over the years, he’s developed a sense of nihilism. it’s led him to become a bit of a trouble maker, with a cutting tongue and a brutal side to him that comes out when he’s in a bad mood. he’s racked with guilt about what he’s become, and that manifests as a deep cynicism, a belief that the world in inherently a bad place and you must do bad things to survive it.
he doesn’t even try to deny the fact he’s very bitter, wearing his resentment close to the surface. this is especially evident when faced with knights who can afford to live up to the ideals he’s abandoned, and doubly so to those who can, but don’t.
his armour is worn, and his appearance is dishevelled more often than not, but he’s a very proud man, determined to keep his head held high. he truly believes his name is one to be respected, even as they don’t have much to back that up these days.
he has never once forgotten a slight against him. an expert at holding grudges, he can cling to his hatred for years.
rumours
it is well known that it is younes doing everything in heart’s home, whilst his brother is rarely seen outside of corbray lands. there is speculation that there may be more to the story than a lazy lord, and younes may be pulling the strings to keep his brother out of the public eye.
he was once engaged to two women at the same time, trying to weigh up who was richer. they found out and both ended the engagement (WC for the ex fiancees pls)
the corbrays have sold everything of value but lady forlorn. there are whispers that this too can be bought for the right price - it cannot.
goals
his number one goal is to find a wealthy woman with a fat dowry and wed her. he sees this as the key to getting his family out of their financial hole. he’s a fortune hunter, and it’s not a particularly well-kept secret.
other
the highest mountain peak in heart’s home is reserved not for the family keep, but the minaret. during calls to prayer, the sound echoes through the mountains, and the muezzin can be heard for miles.
he has quite a wide range of skills, including sewing and smithing. he repairs his own armour out of pride, and is often forced to tailor his own clothing and modernise older pieces.

Dalida in The Sixth Day (Youssef Chahine, 1986)
Cast: Dalida, Mohsen Mohieddin, Shouweikar, Hamdy Ahmed, Sanaa Younes, Salah El-Saadany, Mohamed Mounir, Youssef Chahine, Abla Kamel, Hasan El-Adl, Maher Esam. Screenplay: Youssef Chahine, Hasan Al Geretly, based on a novel by Andrée Chedid. Cinematography: Mohsen Nasr. Production design: Tarek Salaheddine. Film editing: Luc Barnier. Music: Omar Khairat.
The French-Italian pop star Dalida, who was born in Egypt, plays Saddika, a middle-aged woman living in a village during the cholera epidemic of 1947. She takes in washing to support her second husband, who is disabled, and her small grandson. Saddika catches the eye of Okka (Mohsen Mohieddine), who is 20 years younger. He's a street performer who works with a trained monkey, and he idolizes Gene Kelly -- to whom the film is dedicated. Okka doesn't have Kelly's talent as either a singer or a dancer, as a fanciful musical interlude demonstrates, but he is energetic in his wooing of Saddika. When her grandson is stricken with cholera, he helps her hide the child from the public health authorities. A bounty is awarded to anyone who reports a cholera victim, and the village is alive with people willing to snitch on their neighbors. Saddika may have good reason to conceal the boy's illness: The sick are taken to a site in the desert that is rumored to be nothing more than a death camp. The film's title comes from the belief that if you survive six days with the disease you're in the clear. Saddika and the boy end up on a river boat accompanied (reluctantly on her part) by Okka. The Sixth Day is mostly coherently narrated, and it has some fine moments of comedy and suspense, but it also contains some incidents that don't quite fit the main story. I'm not sure, for example, what's going on in a scene in which a drunken British soldier is hustled into a bright red car whose passengers are women. Dakka witnesses the incident, but it's not clear what it has to do with his story or Saddika's. I suspect that it's a scene in Andrée Chedid's novel that Youssef Chahine didn't quite integrate into his screenplay.

Iran has admitted carrying out a missile and drone attack on western Pakistan on Tuesday.
Officials in Islamabad said two children were killed and three others injured in the attack in Balochistan.
Iran's foreign minister said the operation targeted the militant group Jaish al-Adli, which he described as an "Iranian terrorist group" in Pakistan.
As a result the Pakistan's government recalled its ambassador to Iran and has blocked Tehran's envoy from returning.
The Balochistan attack comes after Iran attacked targets in Iraq and Syria earlier this week.
Islamabad said the attack was "illegal" and warned of "serious consequences".
However Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, speaking in Davos, insisted that no Pakistani citizens had been targeted, only members of Jaish al-Adl.
"We only targeted Iranian terrorists on the soil of Pakistan," Mr Amir-Abdollahian said.
He added he had spoken to his Pakistani counterpart and "assured him that we do respect sovereignty and territorial integrity of Pakistan and Iraq".
The latest air strike comes at a time of growing tension across the Middle East, with war raging between Israel and the Palestinian group Hamas in Gaza.
Tehran says it does not want to get involved in a wider conflict. But groups in its so-called "Axis of Resistance", which include the Houthi militants in Yemen, Hezbollah in Lebanon and various groups in Syria and Iraq, have been carrying out attacks on Israel and its allies to show solidarity with the Palestinians. The US and UK have launched air strikes on the Houthis after they attacked commercial shipping.
China on Wednesday urged Pakistan and Iran to show "restraint" and "avoid actions that would lead to an escalation of tension". Foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning added that Beijing saw the countries as "close neighbours".
Perhaps stung by recent deadly attacks on home soil, Iran seems intent on exacting revenge on those it sees as responsible.
At a time of heightened regional tensions, Iran is keen to portray strength and demonstrate to its own population that acts of violence will not go unpunished.
Iran shows missile capabilities with regional strikes
Tuesday's strike in Pakistan hit a village in the vast south-western border province of Balochistan. Tehran said it was targeting Jaish al-Adl, or "army of justice", an ethnic Baloch Sunni Muslim group that has carried out attacks inside Iran as well as on Pakistani government forces.
Last December Jaish al-Adl attacked a police station in Rask, a town close to the border with Pakistan.
Two weeks ago Iran suffered its worst domestic attack since the Islamic Revolution, when two bombs killed 84 people at a ceremony in Kerman to commemorate the US assassination of Iran's notorious Revolutionary Guard general, Qasem Soleimani.
On Monday, Iran fired ballistic missiles at Syria and Kurdish-controlled northern Iraq. Iran said it was targeting Islamic State and Israel's Mossad spy agency, both of whom it said had been involved in the Kerman bombings.
The strike on Iraq hit a building in the northern city of Irbil. Four civilians were killed and six hurt in the attack, local authorities said. The US condemned the attack.
Iran then struck Syria's north-western Idlib province, which is the last remaining opposition stronghold in the country and home to 2.9 million displaced people.
But hitting its nuclear-armed eastern neighbour Pakistan is a dramatic escalation. Pakistan expressed outrage, saying the attack took place "despite the existence of several channels of communication" between the countries.
On Wednesday Islamabad said it had recalled its ambassador to Iran and the Iranian ambassador would not be allowed back into the country for the time being.
Pakistan and Iran have a delicate but cordial relationship. This attack took place on the same day as Pakistan's prime minister and Iran's foreign minister met in Davos and while the Iranian and Pakistan navies held military drills together in the Gulf.
Yet both have accused one another of harbouring militant groups that carry out attacks on the other in their border areas for years.
Security on either side of their shared border, which runs for about 900km (559 miles), has been a long-running concern for both governments.
The Iranian strike is believed to have hit Sabz Koh village about 45km from the Iranian border and 90km from the nearest town Panjgur. Local officials described it as a sparsely populated area home to livestock-owning Baloch tribes where smuggling of goods, drugs and weapons is rife.
"People on both sides of the border consider themselves to be deprived of basic necessities, face discrimination and demand a larger share from their own resources," security commentator Zaigham Khan told the BBC.
In Iran, the Sunni Muslim Baloch minority complains of discrimination in the Shia Muslim-majority state, while Baloch separatist groups are continuing an insurgent movement against the Pakistani government.
Jaish al-Adl is the "most active and influential" Sunni militant group operating in Sistan-Baluchestan, according to the office of the US Director of National Intelligence. It is designated as a terrorist group by Washington and Tehran.
Another security commentator in Pakistan, Aamir Rana, told the BBC he thought the diplomatic crisis "would take a while to calm down but this is also something that Pakistan would not like to escalate".
He said in the past Pakistan had not reacted to Iran's actions along the border - "but now the ball is in Iran's court, whether it wants to get its act right".

Islam teaches that both men and women are equal in the eyes of Allah and should strive to embody certain virtues and values, regardless of their gender. However, there are certain qualities that are often emphasized in Islamic teachings when it comes to being a good and righteous individual, whether male or female. Some of these qualities include:
1. **Faith (Iman):** A real man, just like a real woman, should have strong faith in Allah and strive to live their life in accordance with the teachings of Islam.
2. **Integrity (Adab):** Both men and women should exhibit honesty, integrity, and good manners in their interactions with others.
3. **Responsibility (Amanah):** Real men are responsible and fulfill their obligations towards their families, communities, and society as a whole.
4. **Compassion (Rahma):** Displaying compassion, empathy, and kindness towards others is a key trait in Islam. A real man should treat others with respect and mercy.
5. **Justice (Adl):** Upholding justice and fairness in all dealings, regardless of personal biases, is an important characteristic of a Muslim.
6. **Humility (Tawadhu):** Humbleness is valued in Islam, and a real man should avoid arrogance and vanity.
7. **Self-Control (Nafs):** Both men and women should strive for self-control and discipline over their desires and impulses.
8. **Protector and Provider (Qawwam):** Islam emphasizes that men should provide for and protect their families, not as a means of superiority, but as a shared responsibility.
9. **Seeking Knowledge (Talib al-'Ilm):** Islam encourages the pursuit of knowledge and learning, which applies to both men and women.
10. **Good Character (Akhlaq):** Developing good character traits, such as patience, gratitude, and forgiveness, is essential for both men and women.
It's important to note that these qualities are not limited to men only; they apply to all Muslims, regardless of gender. Islam teaches that both men and women are partners in faith and have equal opportunities to seek closeness to Allah and contribute positively to society. Gender roles in Islam are defined in terms of responsibilities and duties, not superiority or inferiority.

📂 Managed vs. External Tables in Microsoft Fabric
Q: What’s the difference between managed and external tables?
✅ A:
Managed tables: Both the table definition and data files are fully managed by the Spark runtime for the Fabric Lakehouse.
External tables: Only the table definition is managed, while the data itself resides in an external file storage location.
🧠 Use managed tables for simplicity and tight Fabric integration, and external tables when referencing data stored elsewhere (e.g., OneLake, ADLS).
💬 Which one do you use more in your projects—and why?

Comprehensive Fitness and Personal Care: How NDIS Disability Services Empower Everyday Living
In today’s world, personalised care and holistic wellness are more than luxuries—they're essentials. For individuals living with a disability, support services that combine physical wellness, personal care, and daily assistance are crucial for maintaining independence and quality of life. This is where NDIS disability services play a transformative role, especially when partnered with trusted NDIS personal care providers and wellness-focused agencies like Fitness Care Provides.
This blog explores how participants can benefit from the integrated support of NDIS providers, the importance of personal care services, and how tailored disability assistance through the NDIS enhances both daily living and long-term wellbeing.
Understanding the Role of NDIS in Personal and Fitness Care
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is an Australian government initiative designed to support people living with significant and permanent disabilities. Through NDIS, participants receive funding to access services that help them achieve personal goals, increase independence, and improve daily functioning.
Disability services NDIS offers can be wide-ranging—from personal hygiene assistance to therapy, mobility support, community engagement, and yes—even fitness and health-focused services.
That’s where providers like Fitness Care Provides come in—offering a unique blend of physical care, personal training, and assistance with day-to-day activities tailored specifically to NDIS participants.
What Do NDIS Personal Care Providers Offer?
NDIS personal care providers are essential for individuals who need support with activities of daily living (ADLs). These tasks may include:
Bathing and grooming
Dressing
Toileting
Eating and meal preparation
Taking medication
Mobility and transfer assistance
By assisting with these tasks, personal care providers help maintain dignity and health while ensuring participants can live as independently as possible, whether in their own homes or supported living environments.
The Importance of Fitness in Disability Support
Physical fitness is often overlooked in traditional disability care. However, exercise, mobility training, and general movement play an essential role in promoting physical health, mental wellness, and social inclusion.
Fitness Care Provides is an example of a provider that integrates fitness services into a personal care model. This includes:
Personalised fitness plans tailored to ability levels
Physical therapy and strength-building exercises
Group fitness sessions for social engagement
In-home fitness services for individuals with mobility constraints
This approach aligns with the NDIS objective of supporting participants to achieve their goals—whether that’s walking independently, managing weight, or simply feeling better day-to-day.
Choosing the Right NDIS Providers
Finding the right NDIS providers is key to getting the most out of your NDIS plan. Here’s what to look for:
Registered NDIS Provider: Ensure the provider is NDIS-registered and meets the quality and safety requirements set by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).
Range of Services: A provider offering both fitness and personal care—like Fitness Care Provides—can streamline your support and ensure consistency.
Customised Support Plans: The best NDIS personal care providers work closely with participants to co-design services that reflect individual goals and preferences.
Trained, Compassionate Staff: Look for skilled support workers who are not only certified but also demonstrate empathy and professionalism.
Positive Reviews and Testimonials: Feedback from other participants is a good indicator of a provider’s quality of care.
How to Access NDIS Disability Services
If you're new to the NDIS or looking to optimise your current plan, here are the steps to get started:
Check Eligibility: Ensure you meet the requirements under the NDIS criteria (age, residency, and disability).
Apply for an NDIS Plan: Work with a Local Area Coordinator (LAC) to develop a plan that meets your needs.
Find and Connect with Providers: Once funding is approved, choose suitable NDIS providers for the services you need.
Review and Adjust Your Plan: Periodically check that your supports are effective and aligned with your evolving goals.
Fitness Meets Care: A Holistic Approach to NDIS Services
Blending personal care with physical wellness is not just convenient—it’s powerful. Providers like Fitness Care Provides bring a dynamic approach to NDIS disability services, recognising that fitness, independence, and personal care are interconnected.
This integrated model can support goals such as:
Building physical strength and endurance
Managing chronic conditions or pain
Improving mental health through activity
Enhancing mobility and reducing reliance on assistive equipment
Boosting confidence and social interaction
Final Thoughts
The NDIS offers a valuable opportunity for people with disabilities to live healthier, more independent lives. With the right NDIS personal care providers and a forward-thinking approach to disability support, participants can receive not only assistance but empowerment.
By combining physical wellness with daily care, NDIS providers like Fitness Care Provides are shaping a new standard for support—one that recognises the whole person, not just the disability. Whether you’re looking for help with daily tasks or an inclusive fitness plan, the support is out there. The key is finding providers that prioritise your goals, your wellbeing, and your independence.

Zakat al Fitr: A Pillar of Compassion in Deen Relief’s Mission to Empower Vulnerable Communities
In the heart of humanitarian service lies an obligation deeply rooted in faith and compassion—Zakat al Fitr. As a charitable organization dedicated to alleviating suffering and fostering sustainable development, Deen Relief integrates this critical Islamic practice into its broader mission of emergency relief, education, clean water access, and long-term community development. Zakat al Fitr, an essential act of charity required at the end of Ramadan, serves not only as a personal purification but as a vital mechanism to uplift those most in need.
Tumblr media
What is Zakat al Fitr?
Zakat al Fitr, also known as Sadaqat al Fitr, is a mandatory charity that every adult Muslim is obligated to give before the Eid al-Fitr prayer. Unlike Zakat, which is calculated annually based on accumulated wealth, Zakat al Fitr is a fixed amount given by every capable Muslim on behalf of themselves and their dependents.
The purpose of Zakat al Fitr is twofold:
Spiritual purification for those who have fasted during Ramadan
Practical support to ensure that the poor and needy can celebrate Eid with dignity and joy
Deen Relief and the Purpose of Zakat al Fitr
At Deen Relief, we believe that Zakat al Fitr is not merely a donation—it’s a lifeline. Rooted in the Islamic values of compassion, justice, and community service, Deen Relief channels Zakat al Fitr contributions to bring real change to lives across underserved and disaster-stricken regions.
Supporting Emergency Relief Efforts
Many recipients of Zakat al Fitr through Deen Relief are communities recovering from natural disasters, armed conflict, or displacement. In these fragile environments, even a small contribution can make a significant difference. Your Zakat al Fitr helps provide:
Emergency food parcels
Medical aid and hygiene kits
Shelter materials for displaced families
These immediate responses are crucial in saving lives and restoring hope when disaster strikes.
Zakat al Fitr and Sustainable Development
While Zakat al Fitr is traditionally associated with one-time food provision during Eid, Deen Relief takes a broader and more impactful approach by integrating your contributions into long-term development programs that address the root causes of poverty.
Water Projects
Clean water is a basic human right that millions still lack. Through Zakat al Fitr funds, Deen Relief installs:
Wells and hand pumps
Water purification systems
Sanitation facilities in rural schools and villages
This ensures not just short-term relief but lasting health benefits and economic improvement for communities.
Education Initiatives
One of the most powerful tools against poverty is education. With your Zakat al Fitr, we can:
Provide school supplies and uniforms
Fund teachers' salaries and training
Create safe learning spaces for children, especially girls
This creates opportunities for future generations and empowers them to break the cycle of poverty.
A Faith-Driven Mission: The Role of Islam in Deen Relief’s Work
Deen Relief operates under the guiding principles of Islam, which emphasize mercy (rahmah), justice (‘adl), and service (khidmah). Zakat al Fitr is a manifestation of these principles—helping individuals fulfill a religious duty while bringing hope to the most vulnerable.
Our mission is to bridge the gap between spiritual obligation and real-world impact, ensuring that your acts of worship translate into tangible, life-changing outcomes for those in desperate need.
Transparent and Trustworthy Distribution of Zakat al Fitr
We recognize the sacred trust you place in us when you give your Zakat al Fitr. That’s why Deen Relief adheres to strict transparency, accountability, and ethical standards. Every donation is:
Tracked and audited to ensure it reaches its intended destination
Delivered with dignity and respect, honoring the recipients’ humanity
Allocated with a focus on maximum impact per dollar spent
Our dedicated field teams work tirelessly in remote and high-risk regions to ensure your Zakat al Fitr reaches the people who need it most, exactly when they need it.
How to Give Zakat al Fitr Through Deen Relief
Giving your Zakat al Fitr is simple and impactful with Deen Relief:
