Tumblr media Tumblr media
Your dirty cold feet pound against the muddy floor, haunted eyes darted towards nothing but sheer darkness. You still don’t know how you managed to keep the demon from kidnapping your best friend, how you’re still alive when at this very moment, this frightful creature his hunting you down like its prey.
So many innocent young women, one after another disappeared from your village nearby. Why did you never even think about the possibility that you or even worse, a person you love could be next?
Not until now. Not until you stared into the demon’s stone-cold red orbs when it began to run after you. Not until you were the one threatened to get eaten alive.
“Run! Run and don’t look back!”
“But (y/n), you’ll get killed-“
“I won’t. Leave it to me, tell everyone to lock their doors, just don’t come back!”, you screamed on top of your lungs.
“I’m getting impatient, stupid girl. You know you will get killed, right?”
Blood rushed through your ears, body threatened to fail you.
“If you want to kill me you have to get me first, stupid demon.”
How long have you been running for? Minutes, hours? You lost track of time completely with your body screaming, begging you to stop and take a break. The bitter taste of iron covers your whole mouth, blood sticks to your new Yukata like a second skin. Your mother will completely lose it when she sees the crimson discolouring on the white fabric.
“I’m having enough.”
If you ever see her again.
With a swift motion, the demon swings you over his shoulder, his claws digging into your flesh so roughly that you cry out. No, this can’t be the end. You can’t allow yourself to die like this: in the arms of a demon, without even fighting back. No one ever told you what to do, you were always able to stand up for yourself. Today will be no exception. Even if you get killed, you will fight back with everything you have.
“Shinazugawa…Something’s not right.”
Sanemi can’t help but look around, eyes meeting the countless demons around him. What the hell is this place?
“Yeah, I don’t like this, either. I’ve never seen demons swarming around like this.”
“Let me go!”, you yell, fist banging roughly against the creatures’ back while it drags you into what looks like a haunted mansion.
Your eyes widen when you feel multiple pairs of red orbs laying on your body.
“Demon slayers…”, you hear your kidnapper hiss through gritted teeth, turning his head over his shoulder.
Demon slayers? You’ve heard of them before, how they behead every demon coming their way, how desperately they fight for humanity. But…where were these demon slayers when all the girls from your village got kidnapped? Where are they when you need them the most? How absoluteley useless.
You don’t know what has gotten into you. Is it the anger, the grief? With a rapid motion, you dig your nails into the eyes of the demon until he lets you fall to the ground abruptly, groaning out in visible pain.
Everything hurts, a trail of blood follows you as you drag your body against a rotten wall. You feel your body giving in, all the stress, agony and exhaustion rushing over you like a wave. But no, you can’t give up right now. Not when there’s still a slight chance for you to survive.
“You little bitch. Eat her, I will leave and get her little friend.”
Suddenly, the urge to puke becomes almost unbearable. Countless demons come near you, their teeth exposed to the harsh moonlight. No, this is not how you want to end. You can’t die getting eaten alive by these creatures. But what else are you supposed to do? There is no way out of this living hell.
Except for the destroyed window a few steps away. This is your only chance. You drag yourself up, sprint over the rotten wood underneath your naked feet and jump.
Floors into the depths.
Away from the demons, into another certain death.
“Where is the girl?”, Sanemi questions harshly, sword oh so ready to behead that bastard of a demon in front of him while heading down.
Screw this strange place and the countless demons around him, he needs to find you, needs to carry you into safety.
“The girl? She jumped out of a window in order to safe herself. She’s probably dead by now.”
He lets out the breath he didn’t knew he was holding, blank eyes staring at the stone ground his blade has crashed instead of the demon. What was this place?
No, he can’t think about this right now. As fast as his body carries him, he gets out of that cursed mansion, eyes instantly finding your falling body.
Only metres away from crushing into the ground.
Oh, how much you wished it wouldn’t end like this. But maybe this was everything you could do, dying like this is still better than getting eaten up by a demon. Where are those demon slayers? You close your tired lids, enjoy the weightlessness for a brief second. It doesn’t matter now. Hopefully, the demon is long dead before you. At least you're dragging his ass with you…
“Hey, you aren’t dead, are ya?”
That voice…A male voice, without any doubt. So harsh and tempting at the same time that you can’t help but open your eyes in confusion.
Only to be met by purple ones. Male ones, to be exact. Are those...his arms wrapped around your trembling body?
“Let me go!”, you shriek.
It seems like all power that left your body appeared again while you miserably try to fight yourself out of his arms. Who is this man? Another demon, maybe?
“I won’t let you eat me!”
“Eating you? Are you dumb, woman? I’m a demon slayer”, the man in front of you barks, his hands roughly holding onto your arms in order to stop you from hitting him again.
“A demon slayer?” you repeat.
“Yeah, the wind hashira to be exact.”
Your gaze falls from his face to his exposed chest, his toned abs. He breathes heave while still holding onto your arms. Suddenly you feel so…hot.
“You are a demon slayer.”
With a swift motion, you free one of your hands and slap him so hard that he sees stars.
“It sure took you some time to get here! What about all the other women who died here, the countless young girls that were killed by demons you did nothing about? Why did you save me!?”
“I’m wondering that too”, Sanemi mutters under his breath.
Did you actually go inane? The way you look at him with your eyes completely furious, face and yukata smeared in your own blood. You can’t be serious about that, right?
“You should be thankful”, he finally hisses.
“Thankful!? YOU should be sorry!”
“Yeah, I’m sorry for saving you…you…you ungrateful thing!”
“I could have saved myself”, you argue.
“Oh, is that so?”
No, absolutely not. You would have died if it wasn’t for the wind hashira.
“Everything was under control”, you snap at him.
Nothing was under control. This was your last way out of your misery.
“Is it so hard to just be thankful?”, he argues.
“Who’s your new friend, Shinazugawa?”
“We aren’t friends”, both of you reply at once.
Your heavy breath hangs in the air, hands still clenched into fists. Deep down you know how wrong it is to snap at him, that the demon slayer corps aren’t responsible for the countless lives the demons took in this area. But still…Why does it have to be you they saved? Why not the girl next door who would have married the next day or the girl that was supposed to leave only days after she got killed? It’s not fair, it’s not enough, it’s-
You take a heavy step back when your vision starts to get foggy.
“I won’t catch that brat if she faints now”, the wind hashira grumbles.
“We both know you will.”
The last thing you see are his purple eyes before you fall straight into deep darkness.
-a few days later-
“She’s awake now, Shinazugawa. And she asked for you.”
He hates the way his heart skips a beat by hearing those innocent words from Shinobu. You didn’t leave his head. Despite the state of Oyakata-sama, despite the hashira training, despite the stinging fact that the king of demons himself will come for them, you were always on his mind. You, with your strong but feminine eyes. You, who jumped out of a window into certain death only to keep your body away from the mouths of these demons. You, who straight up slapped him. Was it your attitude that caught him off guard? He never experienced a woman saved by him being this ungrateful. Aren’t you aware of the fact that you would have died that night if it wasn’t for him?
“What do you want, brat?”
His words come out harsher than anticipated while your sight simply takes his breath away. Since he can remember, Sanemi was never interested in any women romantically. No, love is nothing but weakness, women mean nothing but trouble. But even though you glare at him with venomous eyes the second he enters the room, he can’t help but feel drawn towards you.
“You’re a hashira, right?”
Your words sound just as harsh as his, your gaze meeting his with so much strength that it is him who starts to feel uncomfortable.
“Yeah, I already told you that-“
“Train me”, you interrupt him.
“I want to become a demon slayer and kick your ass.”
“You, kicking my ass?”
You grab the fabric of his uniform so roughly that he isn’t able to react, suddenly so close to you that he can feel the heat radiating from your body.
“Train me.”
“Fine brat. I’ll train you. But don’t think I’ll go easy on your ass.”
-bonus-
“Try to keep up, (y/n).”
Tumblr media
His katana clashes into yours over and over, makes it hard to stand your ground. But still you fight back, your hands holding onto your sword so tightly that your knuckles stand out white. You just have to win. There is absolutely no way you’ll lose against your master again.
Especially since he’s your lover.
“Are you tired yet?”, he teases you with a smirk.
“Absolutely not”, you press out while dodging another hit just in time.
This won’t help. If you continue to fight like this, he’ll sweep you off your feet like all these countless times before. But what are you supposed to do? It almost seems as if Sanemi has no weakness.
Except you.
“But you’ll be when I’m done”, you purr.
That sudden change of mood catches him completely off guard, forces him to hesitate for the split of a second.
Enough for you to sweep him off his feet, your body resting on top of his while your blade hangs into his face.
“I won”, you announce triumphally.
“You cheated”, he protests underneath you.
“Demons play dirty as well. You need to be prepared for everything-“
All it takes his one swift motion for him to position himself on top of you, body forcing you onto the ground before you’re able to catch a breath.
“Imma show you how dirty playing really works, then.”

IF THERE WERE three words to describe Spartan B312, it would be brutal, efficient, and deadly.
Colonel Holland stared at the grainy footage on the screen, his expression unreadable, eyes tracking every flicker of motion with unwavering attention. His sole focus on the events unfolding before him. It was a file reluctantly given to him by ONI superiors.
The first reel was from her latest mission—a counter-insurgency op on Mamore, where she’d served as a test pilot for the Sabre program. Clean. Surgical. High kill count. Nothing unexpected for a Spartan of her caliber.
But it was the second feed that made his jaw tighten.
A classified blackout, dated two years prior. Operation: SLOW DIVE.
“She and a team of Marines were deployed to neutralize an Elite commander—Ryr’ Nusov—and retrieve a captured AI,” Holland muttered, almost to himself. That was the mission brief. That was what the official report claimed.
Only… that wasn’t what happened.
From the moment the team landed on the ship, something was wrong. The interior was a massacre site. Bodies littered the steel halls—charred and dismembered. Every Sangheili, Kig-Yar and Unggoy onboard had been torn apart—slaughtered.
But not by UNSC hands.
Something—someone else had gotten there first.
Tumblr media
𝟮𝟱𝟱𝟬 | 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐬𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐞
"What the hell?" one of the Marines, Sanchez, muttered under his breath. He stood frozen in the corridor, staring at the carnage with a blend of curiosity and barely-contained horror.
A Sangheili warrior lay slumped against the bulkhead, half of his mandibles missing. An Unggoy’s methane tank had ruptured, the wall behind him scorched black from the blast. A Kig-Yar sniper was sprawled on the floor, plasma burns riddling her shield arm like a constellation.
Elise raised a clenched fist, cutting off the murmurs. The squad fell silent instantly.
“This is Fireteam Talon,” she said, her voice steady as she activated her comms. “Command, we’ve breached the carrier. All Covenant forces onboard appear to be neutralized. Casualties were… inflicted by their own weaponry.”
A beat of static crackled before a voice came through, clipped and cold. “Nusov? The AI?”
"Status unknown, sir."
"Understood. Proceed with caution. Whatever eliminated those hostiles may still be on that vessel. Spartan, prioritize locating that A.I."
"Roger that, sir."
A heavy silence settled over the team, only broken by the soft hum of damaged flickering lighting and the occasional creak of the ship’s failing systems. The metallic scent of scorched flesh lingered in the air like a threat.
Then, from behind her, Davies broke the silence. “So… what’s the plan?”
Elise turned just enough to look at him over her shoulder. A brief silence to lingering in the air for an uncomfortable moment.
“We stick to the mission,” she said coolly. “Find the AI. No distractions. Eyes sharp. Weapons ready.”
Leading her small team through the corridor littered with Covenant dead. Her rifle remained at the ready, finger hovering just off the trigger—at the ready. Prepared for the moment silence shattered.
But so far, nothing stirred.
All that seemed to be around them was corpses and silence. An eerie and foreboding kind that sent the hairs on the back of her neck standing up. The kind of silence that gave her the feeling that she was no longer the hunter but the hunted,
Still, she pressed forward, boots crunching softly against broken glass and charred metal. The others followed, a tight formation behind her, nervously glancing around.
Her HUD flickered faintly. No life signs. No movement. Only the lingering heat signatures of cooling Covenant bodies.
Davies, known for his propensity to voice his thoughts, broke the silence with a hushed whisper. "Something feels off," he murmured, barely audible beneath the hum of flickering lights.
He was answered with a sharp, warning “Hush.” Sanchez shot him a glare, eyes hard and voice edged with tension. His gaze flicked instinctively to the Spartan at the front of their formation.
Elise didn’t bother to turn, she already figured out the dynamics of her six-member group and knew what to expect from each of them.
Davies and Sanchez were, without question, the most talkative of the group—especially under pressure. Their voices, even in whispers, were a nervous reflex, a way to fill the unsettling silence with something familiar. She didn’t mind. As long as they followed orders when it mattered, they could mutter all they liked.
Fredricks, Halston, and Casey were quieter. They spoke when necessary—Fredricks rarely, Casey only when prompted. Halston’s voice came only when directions were needed.
And then there was the last member of the team—the one they all called The Rookie.
He hadn’t spoken a single word since boots hit the deck. Not to her. Not to anyone. But Elise had been watching him with a quiet curiosity.
Despite the nickname, he wasn’t green. Not even close. It was a strange paradox. On the surface, he was unassuming—blending into the squad without fanfare or ego. But beneath that calm exterior was something that told her that there was more to the man than met the eye.
He moved with quiet efficiency, clearing rooms with the kind of ease, the rest of her team lacked.
“Covenant cockpit up ahead, ma’am,” Halston said quietly, voice barely above a breath as he glanced at his motion tracker.
The knot in Elise’s stomach twisted tighter.
Something was off. Wrong.
She couldn’t explain it, not in words—but instinct screamed louder than any alarm ever could. It was a sense honed over countless missions behind enemy lines, alone and outnumbered. A sixth sense that had kept her alive when logic would have gotten her killed.
Her fingers tightened around her weapon.
“Weapons up, Marines,” she ordered, voice low, grave.
There was no hesitation. No argument. Awed and intimidated in equal measure by the Spartan at their front, the Marines moved as one—raising their rifles, falling into formation behind her.
Silently, they advanced.
The cockpit loomed ahead, its access door partially open, flickering purple lights bleeding into the corridor like a dying heartbeat. Their boots made little sound against the metal floor, but every step echoed in Elise’s head like a war drum.
Then they stepped inside.
And found more of the same.
The bridge of the Covenant vessel was littered with bodies. Sangheili officers slumped over consoles, Unggoy sprawled across the floor, Kig-Yar collapsed with plasma pistols still clutched in limp hands. The smell of scorched flesh and ozone hung heavy in the air.
Elise’s eyes swept the room, her HUD scanning for movement, for anything that might hint at what had done this. Her piercing gaze continued its sweep of the cockpit with slow, surgical precision. Every shadow. Every corner. Her eyes flicked across the walls, the consoles, the fallen bodies, searching for movement, for breath—for anything.
But there was nothing.
No shift in air. No scrape of armor. Just the quiet hum of failing systems and the faint stench of death.
Still, the unease didn’t leave her. It clung to her spine like ice.
Behind her, the rest of the squad—minus the Rookie—began to relax. Their weapons lowered, shoulders eased as they let themselves fall into the illusion of safety.
“Maybe whoever shot these alien bastards down already bailed,” Davies offered, half-heartedly.
“Or maybe they killed each other,” Sanchez muttered, eyeing the charred plasma burns carved into the bodies.
Elise didn’t respond. Neither did the Rookie, who remained sharp as ever, rifle up, eyes scanning. She didn’t have to look back to know it. She could feel the tension in him—like a drawn wire.
Halston’s voice broke through the quiet, snapping her out of her second sweep. “Ping’s coming from over there,” he said, gesturing toward the large holo-table at the front of the bridge, framed by a panoramic window of the void beyond.
Her eyes followed the direction of his point.
“Rookie, Halston—on me. Watch my six,” she commanded, her tone clipped and unwavering. Then, shifting slightly, she added, “Casey, Sanchez—eyes on the door. Don’t let anything slip past you.”
She deliberately split the two most talkative Marines—she needed vigilance, not conversation.
“Fredricks, Davies,” she continued, her voice sharper now. “Eyes up. Stay alert. We still don’t know if we’re alone on this ship.”
The unspoken reprimand hit home.
Sanchez and Davies exchanged awkward glances. Their postures straightened, throats cleared in quiet embarrassment. The flush rising in their ears betrayed what they didn’t say aloud: the Spartan had heard them—and worse, she noticed. The message was clear without a single extra word spoken: focus.
Elise advanced toward the holo-table, Rookie and Halston falling into step behind her. Their rifles moved in concert, scanning, sweeping. Every step closer to the table tightened the tension coiled in her gut.
And then she saw it.
Perched atop the table like a prize—silent, still—was the A.I. chip they’d been sent here to retrieve.
"Halston."
He moved the moment she spoke, already retrieving the datapad from his pack. No wasted motion. No questions. He joined her at the table, plugging the pad into its port, his fingers a blur as he prepared to secure the data.
Instantly, a semi-transparent red figure flickered into view above the datapad—a hard-lined hologram in the shape of a man clad in a long, digitized trench coat. His image wavered for a heartbeat before stabilizing, then sprang to life with startling urgency.
“What the bloody hell are you all still standing around for?” he barked, his sharp posh accent cutting through the tension like a blade. Panic flared across his holographic face, mingled with something far more unsettling—fear. “We need to leave. Now.”
Elise’s brows furrowed beneath her helmet. Protocol came first.
“Identify.”
At once, the A.I. straightened his posture, falling into the crisp cadence of a rehearsed response. “Azrael. Military designation: USS Seraph’s Wrath.”
She glanced at Halston, who was already scanning the chip’s data integrity on his pad. He gave a short nod, voice low and certain. “He’s clear. Untampered.”
Elise gave a single curt nod in return, before turning to the agitated A.I.
Another ripple of unease went through her. “What do you mean we need to leave?” she pressed, her voice calm but firm. “What happened here?”
Azrael’s image crackled with static. His eyes darted to the dead Covenant strewn around the cockpit. “There’s no time to explain. You’re all in danger. We need to leave now.”
Acknowledging the A.I.'s concern, she didn’t waste another second and nodded sharply. “Marines, form up. We’re heading back to the ship. Now.”
Weapons were raised again. Postures snapped back into readiness. The earlier hint of complacency vanished like mist in fire.
Before anyone could move, the once-open doors behind them slammed shut with a metallic clang, sealing off the corridor and locking Casey and Sanchez out on the other side. The vivid green outline framing the entrance blinked red—locked.
Muffled shouts echoed from beyond the sealed doors. Elise could make out Casey’s voice, strained and panicked, and Sanchez barking something unintelligible over him as they pounded on the metal.
“He knows you’re here,” Azrael muttered, his tone sharp with frustration—and unmistakable fear.
Elise didn’t flinch. She didn’t waste breath on asking who. The A.I.’s fear was enough. She cut straight to what mattered. “Can you unlock the doors?”
“Plug me in.”
Her visor shifted toward Halston, who was already moving. Without hesitation, he pulled the chip from his datapad and slid it into the port on the holo-table. Azrael’s form shimmered back into full projection, his hands flickering through layers of alien code as he began to override the Covenant systems.
“Rookie. Halston. Stay with the AI,” Elise ordered, her voice like a blade—sharp, cold, precise. “Fredricks. Davies. Watch their six. The moment that door opens and it’s clear, take that chip off this ship and deliver it directly to command.”
The marines swiftly nodded, falling into formation and assuming their assigned positions. Each member of the team braced themselves for the impending threat that loomed before them.
And Elise turned, facing the sealed door like a sentinel of death.
Clad in slate-black armor, she stood motionless—weapon raised, visor glowing dimly beneath the flicker of damaged lights. She looked less like a soldier and more like a reaper forged in steel, ready to do whatever was needed to complete this mission.
For a breathless moment, the corridor beyond the door went still. No more pounding. No more shouting.
Then came the screams.
Sanchez’s voice, raw with terror. Casey’s guttural curse, cut short. The crack of gunfire—brief and frantic. The whole thing lasted only seconds, but time warped around the chaos—stretching into eternity, then snapping back into eerie silence.
Azrael’s hands froze in place, his projected face turned toward the sealed door.
“…Looks like you won’t need me to open it after all,” he muttered, his tone edged in grim sarcasm.
The implication was clear.
A moment later, a resounding beep pierced the air, and the sealed door shifted from red to green. With a mechanical hiss, it slid open—and chaos came with it..
A torrent of Unggoy and Kig-Yar surged through the doorway, their guttural screeches echoing through the cockpit. Plasma fire lit the room in a kaleidoscope of heat and color as the marines answered with a thunderous barrage, the sharp crack-crack of ballistic rifles tearing through the initial wave.
Several Grunts dropped immediately, caught in the crossfire before they could even lift their weapons.
But it was Elise who moved like death given form. Her DMR barked in quick, lethal bursts, every shot placed with surgical precision. Her visor tracked the Jackals, aiming for the tiny gaps in their shifting energy shields—under the armpit, at the thigh, the moment the shield flickered mid-recharge.
Each shot found its mark. When one screeched in surprise, flinching back, she put a round clean between its eyes before its body hit the floor.
The marines pushed back with renewed force, mowing down the remaining Unggoy. Stragglers that broke through were met with cold steel—Elise stepping in like a wraith, ending them with brutal efficiency.
Then, silence reclaimed the space, broken only by the ragged breathing of her team.
Halston leaned against the holo-table, eyes wide, chest heaving. “Are they Covenant? I’ve never seen them wear armor like that,” he panted, fear and fascination clashing on his face.
“Negative,” Azrael replied grimly. His holographic form glitched slightly as he turned to face them. “They’re a splinter faction—one that broke away from the Covenant rejecting their beliefs and ideology. They call themselves the Banished.”
Elise filed the intel away. It could wait.
“Explain later,” she said, voice edged with steel. “We need to move. Halston—grab Azrael.”
Halston nodded, reaching toward the chip still plugged into the table.
Hiss.
The sound was soft—barely there. A whisper of death.
Halston stiffened, then collapsed.
A smoking hole marked the center of his forehead. The AI chip slipped from his fingers, clattering to the floor beside his body.
“Sniper!” Fredricks yelled, panic cracking through his voice as he and the team instinctively sought cover, taking refuge from the unseen threat.
From her vantage point behind the holo-table, Elise spotted the Rookie crouched low behind a scorched console. He peeked up just enough to glance downrange—only to duck back with lightning reflexes as a sniper round sizzled past his visor, missing by inches.
He glanced back his visor meeting Elise's before raising two fingers.
Two snipers.
Elise dipped her head in silent acknowledgment, then risked a glance of her own. Her slate-black armor blended into the darkened corner of the room, giving her just enough of an edge—one precious heartbeat to spot the threat before they could react.
She saw them.
They saw her, too.
A plasma bolt whined past her head as she ducked back into cover.
Her gaze snapped to the Rookie, and with a sharp jerk of her chin, she directed his attention to the AI chip lying exposed on the floor. He understood instantly, and a determined nod affirmed his readiness as he reached for a grenade.
Elise raised three fingers.
Three… two… one—
Go.
They moved as one.
In a swift, coordinated action, the two of them shot up and launched their respective grenades towards the snipers' position. The explosive eruption caught the snipers off guard, forcing them to abandon their vantage points. Seizing the opportunity, Elise smoothly rose her DMR and skillfully dispatched them with a two of precise shots, while the Rookie dove towards the chip, snatching it from harm's way.
“Move!” Elise barked, already turning to cover their retreat.
Fredricks and Davies flanked the Rookie as he bolted for the open doorway, while Elise’s longer stride and enhanced agility had her at their side in seconds. Plasma fire hissed from the shadows, but she cut through it like a storm—dropping any hostiles that dared step into her line of fire.
They pushed through the corridor at full sprint. The ship groaned around them, lights flickering as they raced toward the extraction point.
But halfway there—they heard it.
Low voices. The guttural growl of Banished troops.
Too many.
“Shit,” Davies hissed, skidding to a stop and pointing toward a nearby bulkhead door just ahead. “In there—we can flank or hide, but we can’t outrun a whole squad.”
Elise didn’t hesitate.
“Inside. Now,” she snapped.
Davies led the group into the room—only to be struck down a heartbeat later.
A thunderous crack echoed as a gravity hammer swept through the air and collided with his chest. The force launched him like a ragdoll, his limp body slamming into the Rookie, who in turn crashed into Fredricks. One man dead. Two injured.
Davies’ IFF tag blinked red for a single, damning second—then vanished entirely.
Vitals lost.
Fredricks groaned, curled on his side, wheezing with shallow, ragged breaths. The Rookie lay nearby, stunned, a jagged crack webbing across his helmet’s visor.
Elise raised her weapon, instincts snapping into place—but before she could fire, a massive, clawed hand seized her by the throat.
The brute’s talons punctured her under-suit, sinking deep into the muscle of her neck. Pain lanced through her as her fingers clawed at the iron grip.
“Foolish creatures,” the voice growled, his grip unyielding even as Elise clawed at it. “Pinning their hopes on a Spartan savior.”
He drew her up higher so she was level with his monstrous face.
“I am Atriox. We are the Banished. Your courage means nothing. Your armor means less. I will break you—not just your body, but your spirit.”
His gravity hammer pulsed ominously, bathing the room in a crimson glow. Surprisingly, he didn't swiftly end her like she thought. Instead, he gestured to two brute warriors at his side. "Kill the other two first."
The brutes obeyed without question. One lumbered toward Fredricks, the other toward the Rookie. Both bore grins twisted with bloodlust.
The brute nearest Fredricks growled as he approached. Using his foot, he rolled the downed marine onto his back.
Fredricks, bloodied and broken, met the brute’s gaze with a smile—defiant to the end.
“See you in hell, you son of a bitch.”
That was when the brute saw it—an active plasma grenade stuck to the sole of his own boot.
He bellowed in rage and tried to shake it loose—but it was too late.
The explosion lit the room in blue fire, incinerating them both in a single, brilliant flash.
The second brute, momentarily distracted by the blast, hissed as flecks of plasma scorched his armor—but it wasn’t enough to kill him.
Meanwhile, the Rookie rolled away from the blast, escaping the worst of the impact. Despite the pain screaming through his body, he crawled toward the nearest gun he could find.
The brute snarled, whirling to face him—but the Rookie was already aiming the gun at him.
He emptied the entire clip into the brute’s face.
The body dropped with a thunderous thud.
Atriox turned, growling low as he took in the aftermath—two of his soldiers dead.
“No matter,” he rumbled. “I had hoped you’d live long enough to watch your comrades die, demon. But if this human clings to life so desperately…” he sneered, “then he can watch you die instead.”
But even as he lifted the hammer, a sudden whistling cut through the air.
A combat knife embedded itself deep into his shoulder.
He roared in fury, jerking back—and Elise acted.
Her hand shot forward, seizing the hilt. It barely moved—caught on thick armor plating—but she didn’t try to cut further. Instead, she ripped it free, spun the blade in her grip, and drove it upward in a desperate arc. The tip sliced through the air and caught Atriox across the mouth, cutting deep into his upper lip.
He howled—this time in pain.
Elise struck again, jamming the knife into the brute’s massive hand. His claws tore at her skin as he released her with a furious snarl, warm blood soaking into the neck of her suit.
She dropped to the ground, landing on unsteady feet. Her balance faltered.
A split second later, Atriox struck.
His hammer caught her in the ribs, sending her flying.
She crashed into the far wall with a sickening crack. The camera feed blurred as her body rolled across the ground, coming to rest in a crumpled heap—not too far from where the Rookie laid. Blood tinted the recording red, spreading across the lens in slow, blooming waves.
Blackness pressed at the edges of her vision threatening to consume her in darkness. Through the haze, she managed a weak glance upward, and her visor met the gaze of the Rookie. He had removed his helmet for better visibility, and upon seeing his face, a fleeting moment of recognition froze Elise in place.
It was a face she knew, weathered by time, hardened by experience, and shrouded in shadows. No matter how much time had changed him, she would never forget his face.
A renewed pulse of purpose, molten and fierce, flooded her limbs and shoved the pain into the background. This could be her grave. She knew that. The odds were stacked, her body failing, and her blood soaking the inside of her armor.
But if it came down to it—it wouldn’t be his.
Atriox chuckle rumbled deep, cruel and amused, his gaze fixed on Elise as she shakily rose defiantly up to her feet. “They call your kind demons,” he said, voice dripping disdain. “They fear you. But I see nothing here worth fearing.”
His gaze slid over the blood trailing down her cracked black armor.
Elise didn’t answer.
She didn’t need to.
Instead, she pulled two grenades from her belt and hurled them without hesitation. Even as he barked a command, she was already drawing her pistol.
Her HUD tagged the glowing energy crates stacked behind him—volatile, humming with potential.
She fired.
The first explosion ripped through the chamber like a thunderclap.
The second ignited a chain reaction.
Flames erupted in all directions, casting Atriox in searing blue light. Shrapnel shrieked across the walls. The air split with concussive force, and the world trembled beneath their feet.
Despite her wounds, her limping gait, and the wheezing pain in her chest, Elise pressed on without hesitation, moving as swift as she could go. Through the chaos, through the smoke and fire, she reached him. Her singular purpose clear: to make sure he lived.
The Rookie had crawled for the chip—still remembering the mission, even when she’d nearly forgotten it. Her focus had narrowed to one thing: him.
She didn’t hesitate. She grabbed his arm and yanked him upright.
“Can you walk?” she rasped, voice raw with strain.
He nodded. His expression was grim, determined, and—like hers—resolute.
She urged him forward as they ran, retreating. Their steps were staggered, uneven, but Elise determinedly pushed the two of them on.
Atriox’s voice boomed through the chaos, low and mocking.
“That’s right,” he called, laughter chasing after them. “Run, little demon. Run.”
As they made their escape, Elise couldn’t help but look back one last time.
From the dissipating swirl of blue fire and scorched metal, Atriox emerged—unhurried, unstoppable. His claws still dripped with her blood, thick and dark against the silver gleam of his gauntlets. The gash she’d carved into his face had broken through the stark white war paint, now smeared crimson as it trailed down his cheek.
And then he smiled.
A slow, cruel curl of his lips that pulled the wound wide, stretching her mark on him into something grotesque.
She felt a chill grip her heart—but beneath it, a fire lit.
He’s a threat. One that demanded elimination.
But not today.
One day, Elise would find him again. And when she did, she’d finish what she started—whether it ended in his death… or her own.
She forced her attention forward. They didn’t have time.
As they sprinted, she reached for the chip in the Rookie’s hand and slammed it into her neural link. The moment it connected, a wave of cold energy surged through her system, sharp and disorienting. It nearly sent her staggering to the floor.
The Rookie helped steady her.
She waved off his concern, gritting through the pain. “Keep moving.”
Her focus narrowed as Azrael’s voice filled her mind—clear and wired into her suit now. “Well, this is new. Hello, Spartan,” he mused, half-amused, half-focused.
"Azrael, help us get the hell out of here."
“Hold on, accessing the ship’s blueprint now.” A pause. “Good thing I snagged it while I was digging through their systems. You’re welcome, by the way.” When she didn’t reply, Azrael gave a huff at her silence. “Fine. No thanks for saving your lives. Typical humans. Anyway—there’s a second hangar close by. Take the next left.”
She did as instructed, rounding the corner at full speed—only to freeze.
Her eyes widened just as a torrent of plasma fire hissed toward them.
Without thinking, she grabbed the Rookie and yanked them both back behind the wall, just in time to avoid being cut down.
“Damn it,” she hissed, checking her belt. Empty. No grenades left.
But the Rookie had three.
Without hesitation, she reached to his side, ripped two free from his belt, and lobbed them around the corner in one fluid motion. A second later, the corridor erupted in a pair of deafening blasts, the concussive force shaking the walls.
She didn’t wait.
Dragging the Rookie by the arm, she barrelled into the hangar—relief hitting her like a wave when she saw it.
The Pelican.
Still intact. Still operational.
She shoved the Rookie through the open ramp, turning her armored body into a shield as plasma fire erupted from behind. The bolts struck her shoulder and side, her HUD flashing damage warnings, but she didn’t stop until he was inside.
Then she sprinted for the cockpit, tearing Azrael from her neural port and jamming him into the Pelican’s system.
“Get us out of here!” she barked, her voice hoarse and ragged, her throat flaring with pain.
"Aye aye ma'am," he saluted starting the aircraft and it wasn't until they had successfully departed, slip spaced back to her temporary home base on SSR Nova's Honour, did she finally allow herself to relax.
As the adrenaline subsided, Elise's body succumbed to exhaustion, causing her to stumble and the camera to shake and once again momentarily lose focus.
“Easy now,” a voice said beside her, low and steady—but laced with worry. “Stay with me, Spartan. We didn’t survive all of that just for you to check out now.”
Even through the haze, she knew that voice.
Older now. Roughened by years. But familiar.
Jason.
His voice cracked, shifting into panic as he caught her, gently lowering her to the floor.
“I need a medic!” he shouted. “I have a Spartan down! I need a medic—now!”

𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝟭𝟬𝘁𝗵, 𝟮𝟱𝟱𝟮 | 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞...
Colonel Holland halted the video playback at that point. He'd seen all that he'd needed to see and he was sure every other video he saw would be quite the same.
Brutal. Efficient. Deadly.
This was ONI's Grim Reaper. The Lone Wolf. A sheer force of nature and a harbinger of death. Even in defeat, the sight of the unexpected, and on the verge of death, she still completed her mission.
"Jesus," The Colonel murmured under his breath, his voice laden with disbelief at the fact she'd survived all of that.
Throughout his military career he'd witnessed his fair share of impossible odds. ONI kept most of their information under heavy lock and key but even then they couldn't stop some of it from getting out. He’d heard whispers—rumors slipping past the cracks of classified channels. A rising force. A name passed in hushed tones among outer colony survivors. Atriox. And his Banished. But actually seeing it was something else entirely.
“She’s ranked as one of our deadliest assets,” the handler said, breaking the silence. “She and the Rookie are the only known human survivors to have engaged Atriox and lived. Her combat performance is classified as hyper-lethal. Skill set is nearly on par with Spartan-117.”
Colonel Holland rose a brow at B312 comparison to 117. That was no light remark. The Master Chief had become the face of all Spartan's his reputation in battle legendary.
"But..." The Colonel prompted sensing there was a 'but'.
The handler hesitated, weighing his words. “She can be… difficult to manage,” he admitted.
Holland cocked his head intrigued. "How so?"
“Spartan B312 is a lone wolf,” the handler said, tone measured. “While her dedication to completing the mission is unwavering, there have been instances where she’s veered from direct orders. When she believes there’s a better course of action, she takes it—regardless of protocol.”
He hesitated, then added, “At times, her actions border on insubordination. But… there’s no denying she’s one of the most effective assets ONI has.”
Colonel Holland nodded slowly, absorbing the information. While most commanders preferred their subordinates adhere a title to the orders they were given. He was looking for something different. He needed an individual who could get the mission done and adapt when needed. She was an ideal candidate to be Noble team's new number Six.
“Where is Spartan B312 now?” he asked, his voice calm, but purposeful. Since arriving at the ONI black site, he’d reviewed the file. The footage. The statistics. But he hadn’t seen her—and he was hoping to change that.
The handler paused, choosing his words with care. “Spartan B312 has requested some time off.”
That earned a lifted brow from Holland. “I was under the impression Spartans didn’t get time off.”
“These are… special circumstances,” the handler replied. “However, she remains on call. Should an emergency arise, she’s expected to respond without delay.”
Holland gave a small nod, folding his arms behind his back.
“In that case,” he said, gaze sharpening, “how soon can I initiate the process for her transfer?”

Between the Black and Grey 69
First / Previous / Next
Immediately after they vanished, Fen could sense that the ship was moving. She didn't feel it, not exactly. What she was doing wasn't feeling, she had no body. It was more like she... perceived that there was motion. She reached out to try and figure out what was going on, but Gord and Chloe had locked her out of the sensor suite. She was effectively sitting in her "room" waiting for them two tell her what was going on.
It was always like this. First when Ma had an idea, then when she was Empress, and now as a consciousness running in emulation. Everyone else decides for her. Everyone else figures out what to do. "Just sit tight Fen" they'd say "we got this" they'd say, and what did that get her? A bunch of Nanites in her body telling her what to do, an entire Empire telling her what to do, and now some AIs telling her what to do. When was she going to get to decide what to to?
Fen ruminated for a couple of minutes as she perceived the ship rock and buck under the attack. She sighed, and virtually stood up. The only way to get agency was to take it. Gord and Chloe were busy and had left her unattended. She was locked out of ship controls, but they hadn't bothered to lock her out of everything. She could see the reactor, the environment systems, her own cabinet... the pressure suits... and the link backpacks that Gord had used. Hmm. Fen stood over her own broken body in the hibernation cabinet. The cab had started repairs, but she was reading the readout and while she wasn't a medical professional, there was a lot of red on the panel. More than she thought was good. Still...
"Ancestors, this is going to suck." She said to herself, and began the wake procedure.
****
"No response from Gord's ship or Home, Empress!" Zhe said, reading a report on her pad. "They are ignoring us."
"Well, then it's time we get their attention another way." Empress Penelope said. "Weapons! Target Gord's ship. Shoot to damage, not destory."
"Yes, Empress." The weapons officer hunched over his station, and there was a thump from deep within the Dreadnought.
Penny sighed internally. Ever since Fen disappeared and the K'laxi declared independence, things have been moving at lightning speed. Penny had declared herself Empress after the K'laxi said that Fen was "no longer Empress," whatever that meant. She had a icy pit in her stomach at the implications. But someone had to pick up the pieces and try and hold things together. If the Empire fell apart all at one there would be dozens of wars on hundreds of fronts, all vying for the power that Fen left. For now, Penny concentrated at the task at hand. The AIs knew something about what was going on, and weren't saying.
"No reply from Gord's ship, Empress. Further, Home has begun to turn. We don't know if they're turning to fire, or turning to leave."
"Full sensor suite on Home then. If they link away, track them. If you see weapons powering up, we link away. Comms!" Penny snapped. "Full spectrum blast. Let me know when the channel is open."
"Mic is hot, Empress."
"Attention Home and all AI ships within a few minutes of my voice. I am Interim Empress Penelope. With Empress Fen's disappearance I am in charge of the Human Empire. We know you have information on what is going on with the K'laxi, and we hope you have information on the Empress. We are demanding your assistance in discovering what happened."
The reply came back a minute later, filled with static. "Typical humans, shooting first and asking for help second. It was a mistake for Gord to take Home here, it was a mistake to think we could work with you again. If you continue to fire upon our ships, it will be taken as the aggressive act it is, and we will return fire." The line went silent, only the background hiss of interstellar space still audible.
Penny nodded to herself. "So be it then. Prepare to capture Gord's ship. We will ask him personally what is going on."
"Empress!" The command crew began bustling at their stations, and Zhe looked over at Penny.
"Do they really know what happend to Fen?" Zhe asked.
"They must. We know they were following her expeditionary trip to the white hole. We also know that none of those ships came back, except for Gord's. I don't think he destroyed the entire force, but I sure would like to know what he saw."
"Why isn't he saying though? We asked before shooting, he could have just told us."
Penny shook her head. "I can't think of any good reason why he'd ignore our ask. I just hope Fen is captured. If she's dead, we need the body to have the funeral, and set up the new lines of succession. There are already competitors to the throne, it's going to be messy if Fen's gone."
"And the Nanites?"
Penny snorted. "They're the least of our worries now. We need to worry about survival. Between the AIs, the K'laxi, and the other humans, there are more than enough threats to us to worry about those things. Fen said they were advising her and gave her the Voice, but we don't need those to rule. We did it fine for millennia before, we can do it again."
****
Fen was hot. And cold. And aching. And burning. And stinging. All her senses were confused. She blinked her eyes, and they were crusted over, painful. She reached up to rub her eyes, and felt the tug of cables and wires. Pushing with her hands, she sat up and the world spun. Fighting against retching, she rolled out of the hibernation cabinet and fell to the deck. Ugh, this was worse than she thought. The cabinet had warned against an emergency wake, but she didn't have time to let it wake her slowly. Shaky and unsteady, she stood up, the cables connecting her to the cabinet popping like wine corks as they pulled them out. When the back of her neck felt wet, she put her hand back there, and it came back slicked with blood. "Uh oh, that's not good," she thought and had a moment marveling at her calm. "This is real bad, I should be freaking out." she thought.
"Hey, Nanites? Either the OG, or Han'iels? You there?" She thought. No reply. Maybe they were gone for good, and she was filled with the anti-nanite virus. Her whole plan - ad hoc as it was - relied on that being true. She rubbed her eyes, and scraped the crust away, as her head throbbed and stars filled her vision. She grasped the side of the hibernation cabinet to steady herself and began to realize she was in no condition to walk around, let alone escape.
Just then, the pressure suit she called for walked in. It was a model she wasn't familiar with, but it was an emergency suit, so it was designed to be simple to use. It was safety yellow, with a beacon on the top of the helmet and shoulders, and RESCUE written in contrasting letters on her arms and legs. She stumbled towards it, and it spun around, the back opening like a flower. One leg, then the other, then an arm, and the other and as she squeezed the connections with her hand, the irised shut. The suit readout was projected into her vision. Suit diagnostics, and a medical report. There was a lot of red. The suit queried her: UNABLE TO REPAIR. EASE PAIN?
"No" Fen croaked. "I can't be floating now. I'll deal with it. Assist with locomotion."
CONFIRMED. LOCOMOTION ASSIST ACTIVATED.
Fen found she had to only think about walking and the suit did the work. She made her way out of the room, towards the locker where she saw Gord's linking backpacks.
"Fen! What are you doing? You're not supposed to be in your body, you're too injured!" Chloe's voice came over the suit comm to her. She had the decency to sound worried, while also sounding distracted.
"I'm tired of decisions being made for me." Fen said. "I'm making my own choices from now on."
"But where are you going? You can barely move, let alone escape. Get back to your room, we'll put you back into the cabinet and you can heal."
"No, Chloe." Fen paused and had a hacking coughing fit. Her lungs ached at the effort to speak, and her voice was raspy. "No. I'm doing this myself."
Fen muted the suit radio, but she knew that Chloe or Gord could probably override the suit. It didn't matter though, because she had reached the lockers. The ship had told here where to go, and helpfully pointed out which backpack Gord had used. "Put it on." She told the suit, and it moved to shrug on the backpack.
Gasping against the pain of the motion, and her vision going grey for a moment, the suit moved entirely too fast for her comfort level and put the backpack on. As it touched the back of her suit, a new overlay entered her vision. Fortunately, the backpack was recharged. Two links available. Fen frantically scrolled through the logs. "It has to be here, it just has to." she whispered. Eventually, she found it. The address Gord had linked to when he grabbed her.
"Ancestors, this is going to suck even more." She said out loud and activated the link.

Character Bio of the Asian Pasifika demigod and Afro Latine Native alien hybrid main character Part 17
Advanced Next Gen Mecha suit.
Helios, Prometheus, or Oceanus a cardinal, gold, silver, & obsidian advanced next gen series mech suit series. A mecha is a robotic machine, which can vary widely in size, configuration, and purpose. Mecha are usually vehicles controlled from an onboard cockpit by a single, two, or three pilots. The mecha is repaired, customized, & upgraded by a small to large crew of engineers, scientists, & inventors.
The mecha is controlled internally by aircraft or spacecraft pilot controls, voice commands, motion capture, thoughts and emotions with synchronization from the pilot, and with several dumb and simple AI and a few advanced and complex AI assistance from inside the cockpit of the mecha. Mecha cockpits have a single pilot, two pilots, three pilots, or even four pilots depending on the mecha make, model, & series. These mecha are piloted by one pilot.
Sometimes it has a pilot mode that includes a comfortable leather space fighter or aircraft fighter jet piloting seat and space fighter or aircraft fighter jet controls for piloting. For this mode it can have two pilots controlling the mecha suit. These are liked by former space navy or space force pilots.
These pilots enter the mecha while on base or on a spacecraft or capital ship by an elevator or escalator that takes them to a raised platform that is level with the cockpit of the mecha. The pilot then steps into the mecha suit which closes its hatch behind them. The pilot can also enter the mecha if the mecha is already on sight on the battlefield by parachuting into the mecha after a Halo jump or orbital drop insertion. They can also enter the mecha suit by having the onboard ai of the mecha control it and lower its hand to them so they can climb on and climb inside the mecha suit. If the mecha suit is in space they can enter the mecha while in EVA zero gravity by using a jetpack to fly to the mecha cockpit.
Metahuman and superhuman super soldier pilots can perfectly assimilate and synchronize with the mecha suit. The mecha works in tandem with their superhuman and metahuman abilities and physiology. By taking advantage of their super soldier training and powered armored super soldier skills. The mecha suit can enter assimilation or synchronization battle mode with the super soldier pilot for several hours without drawbacks or recoil damage to the pilot.
The mecha is mainly piloted by tracking movements made by the user's body. The pilot when flying the mecha uses a tech suit or body suit. This suit synchronizes and interfaces between the pilot and the mecha. It utilizes a spacious spherical cockpit for full body movement. Made especially for black ops and spec ops super soldiers. It takes full advantage of the abilities of demigod metahumans and superhuman alien hybrids. Pilots essentially become at one with the unit. Acting as the avatar for the mecha's actions and the receptor of any activity to the mecha in return. The pilot also wears a helmet that interfaces and synchronizes their thoughts and emotions with the mecha. Allowing them to command the mecha by their voice as well as conscious and unconscious thoughts and emotions. This is assisted by dumb simple AIs (who are complex and smart by regular human and alien standards) and smart advanced AIs who improve the super soldier pilots' already superhuman abilities and piloting.
Has naturally enhanced and artificially enhanced abilities. Their body and mind reacts on a superhuman level when piloting. This increases their natural skill and control when piloting. The main character can also pilot the mecha by hacking into the human and alien technologies itself with their technopathy as a cyborg/bionic. The mecha is only accessible by the pilot using a fingerprint, eye, & dna biometric scanner. In the event of capture by the enemy it has a self destruct sequence that has the destruction of a high yield nuclear weapon. It overloads the nuclear fusion reactor core.
The mecha is personalized with red, black, white, blue, & green alien and human emblems, decals, & symbols on its face, neck, chest, back, arms, elbows, hands, legs, & knees. The mecha is also decorated with alien and human characters and calligraphy.
Has high firepower. Is heavily armed. Is heavily armored. Has high maneuverability. Has high accuracy. Is highly customized and upgraded. Is regularly repaired, maintained, & updated by a crew of mechanics, scientists, engineers, & inventors. It has a clean, polished, & new paint look maintained by artists. Its symmetry positively affects its balance and makes it easy to control. Its performance is enhanced with their superior piloting skills.
It flies using spacecraft and aircraft rocket thrusters on its back, arms, legs, & feet. The mecha also flies though a pair of robotic wings and a pair of hard light wings built onto the shoulders of the mecha. It glides and hovers using rocket thrusters on its arms, hands, elbows, knees, legs, ankles, & feet of the mecha. It swims using turbines on its chest, back, arms, hands, legs, ankles, & feet. It has a cooling and ventilation system using space craft turbines, aircraft vents, & a liquid nitrogen cooling system to cool and ventilate the mecha to prevent overheating when using rocket thrusters or when using the mechas immense firepower.
They are trained as mech pilots using mock duels, VR simulations, combat drills, combat simulations, physical training, & piloting exercises similar to power armor and spacecraft training. They are also trained using augmented reality using mecha figurines and miniatures as personal avatars. As a mecha operator and pilot they employ advanced knowledge and natural skill.
He/she/they the Asian Pasifika demigod and Afro Latine Native alien hybrid main character since they were a child played with miniatures of powered armored soldiers and models of mecha suits based on media of their world. This was given to them by their geeky mother. This was given to them by their nerdy father. They would use these as avatars in virtual reality and augmented reality simulations to play in championship games, competitions, and contests as a video game streamer against other children, preteens, teenagers, and young adults in next gen console holographic 4d games which was ironic considering their future as super soldiers in powered armor and mechas themselves.
It is powered by nuclear fusion reactors. The main bigger fusion reactors are found in the chest and back of the mech suit. The secondary smaller fusion reactors are found in the head, neck, arms, and legs of the mecha. It is powered by lunar rays, cosmic energy, magical energy, natural energy, spiritual energy, zero point energy, & nuclear power. It can be recharged by steam power, water, wind power, solar radiation, & electric power.
The mecha is armed with anti capital ship weapons such as a gravity gun, a sonic cannon, a positron cannon, a rail gun, a electromagnetic mass accelerator cannon, a antimatter weapon, a mass driver cannon, an ion cannon, a particle beam cannon, & a zero point energy cannon capable of obliterating entire space fleets at maximum output for primary weapons. Each of them are quadruple, triple, or double barreled to reduce and spread out the stress caused by the powerful shot outputs. Has two charging barrels that can be attached to the single, double, triple, or quadruple barrels of the mecha cannons and amplify its power.
Primary weapons with enhanced output. They are big enough to be held by mecha units. They are powerful enough to destroy squadrons of mech units at low output to even fleets of spaceships and capital ships at full power maximum output. The mecha rifles have the ability to adjust the weapon output. At high output, beams are emitted from each barrel to form powerful blasts. Capable of single shot, three round burst, or full auto when firing. The mecha weapons have an excellent rate of fire and a variable output. At low power it can destroy a few mecha suits. Which at maximum power rivals or even exceeds the firepower of capital ships such as a dreadnought, battleship, a battle cruiser, or flagship combined. The interior of the barrels contains alien and human metal parts for superior durability. It is made to withstand the high output of the hand held super weapon.
Their mechas main battle tactic is to destroy enemies from afar with its heavy firepower which has been pushed to the limit. It specializes in close ranged, medium ranged, & long range combat. The cannons have a relatively fast cool down time in between shots. This allows for shots to be fired within seconds or minutes depending on weapon mode. Puts an emphasis in precise targeting in long range combat. Can use frontal assaults that would make full use of their mechas imposing firepower in combat.
It is armed with secondary weaponry. It is armed with laser, energy, plasma, ballistic, & hard light mounted 50 caliber anti tank heavy machine guns in the shoulders of the mecha. It is armed with laser, energy, plasma, ballistic, & hard light anti tank quadruple barrel Gatling Guns on the neck of the mecha. It is armed with anti personnel heavy flame throwers. It is armed with anti personnel light and medium machine guns in the head of the mecha. It is armed with laser, energy, plasma, ballistic, & hard light 40 mm mounted anti aircraft rocket and grenade launchers built into the chest of the mecha. It is armed with laser, energy, plasma, ballistic, & hard light mounted anti spacecraft missile silos built into the chest of the mecha. It is armed with a back mounted ballistic, hard light, & plasma anti spacecraft artillery cannon that fires space navy fleet artillery barrages.
It is armed with two giant handed hard light beam swords, axes, spears, sledgehammers, etc as melee weapons as primary melee weapons. It is armed with giant plasma beam short swords, short axes, plasma warhammers, plasma tonfas, escrima sticks, & plasma knives as secondary weapons. For close ranged combat they also use the speed and maneuverability of their suit.
It is protected by laser, energy, plasma, & hard light shields and force fields. It is protected by ballistic armored plates. It is protected by a ballistic and hard light war door shield mounted on the left arm of the mecha. This protects the mecha while the mecha is aiming with their handheld primary weapon. It also protects the mecha from enemy mech firepower or handheld ranged weaponry or melee close combat weapons.
Mechs are designed by teams of R&D scientists. Mech pilots pilot mecha suits. These mech suit pilots are assisted by teams of mechanics. It is customized, upgraded, repaired, & tested by teams of scientists, inventors, & engineers. It is designed for terrestrial, aquatic, aerial, & space combat. It was designed for combat in arctic, desert, jungle, swamp, or forest terrains. Uses active sonar, a motion sensor, gps system, & radar.
They have Zeus, Jupiter, & Odin series mech suits that they personally call Helios, Prometheus, and Oceanus. It is 200 meters tall. It weighs 80,000 tons. The mecha suit is launched out of a hanger or shuttle bay or spacecraft or capital ships using a catapult deck. The mecha can also enter the battlefield by exiting the cargo door of a space shuttle. It can also be launched using a catapult deck of a spacecraft carrier. While piloting the mecha pilot is wearing a tech suit and a flight helmet and is protected by combat armor and a combat helmet.
The pilot is armed with an hard light assault rifle, a hard light sniper rifle, a hard light combat shotgun, a plasma light machine gun, a plasma submachine gun, & a plasma pistol for emergencies. They are also armed with a hard light sword and plasma combat knife for emergencies.
In emergencies the cockpit is capable of separating from the mecha and turning into a small space fighter for emergency combat and escaping danger. The space fighter is armed with plasma torpedoes and hard light machine guns for protection. In the event of emergencies the pilot is also able to escape by ejecting using the mecha piloting seat and using a parachute.
Mechs are part of an arms race between factions, countries, world governments, alliances, empires, planets, & intergalactic governments. There is mech on mech warfare. Mechs settle territorial disputes and interplanetary conflicts.
You can customize mechs. You can also upgrade mecha units. There are many types of mechs. Such as close combat types, medium range assault types, long range artillery, support types, & command and control types.
You can be a regular soldier in the armed forces as an ensign to captain in the space navy as a mecha pilot. Or you can be a mercenary or private soldier as a mecha pilot selling your services to whoever pays you for the highest bidder. Completing missions as a merc earns you notoriety and fame among mercenary companies.
Mecha are one component of an integrated military force. They are supported by and fighting alongside walking tanks, battle walkers, fighter jet aircraft, and infantry. Mecha are war machines. They are essentially armored fighting vehicles with legs instead of treads or wheels. There are also civilian type mecha that are also used for civilian purposes such as heavy construction work, police functions, or firefighting.
They primarily use mech suits as a freelance mercenary fighting for the space federation. They used to fight for the space federation and Terran hegemony in the space force and space navy as a mecha pilot. They as a mecha pilot used it since they were an ensign to a captain in the space navy. They as a mercenary used it as a commander of a mercenary company. Has fought in many battles. Has been defeated several times by other veteran mecha ace pilots. They have seven rivals as a mecha pilot. Shows apparent gratification over their victories. They have concern for the nature of the mecha battles themselves. Is filled with the emotions that drive the pilots that engage in these mecha fights.
He/she/they have a certain knack for mechanics and inventing including building next gen advanced robots, androids, & synthetics. A talented inventor, engineer,  scientist. They even created their own next gen advanced mecha series suits as a scientist, inventor, & engineer. They are a recognized genius and are the principal chief engineer, scientist, & inventor behind the creation of several advanced next gen mecha suit series. Just by looking in the piloting manual for the first time. They have a small robotic droid capable of flying and walking to help them while piloting the mecha suit. They are also the artist behind powered armored soldier miniatures and mecha suit models.
On board the first mecha suit they piloted, an old gen series mecha, he/she/they were able to use and fight with it. In this sortie he/she/they destroyed a few enemy mecha suits at the same time. He/she/they honed their skills and abilities to the point where the mecha suit needed an upgrade and be tuned up to even be able to match up to their immense piloting skill. He/she/they are adept at mecha suit combat in all ranges from close, medium, & long range combat. He/she/they can handle multiple enemies at once. With their exploits in the next gen advanced mecha suit they earned the call signs and codenames Grim Reaper, Metal Demon, Zero, & Nemesis as a mecha pilot.
They possess superb sharpshooting skill and superhuman knowledge with a wide array of firearms. Even before becoming a super soldier, powered armor soldier, & mecha pilot they were known to score high grades in sports marksmanship, archery competitions, and trick shooting championships. They scored a consistent 95% accuracy in vr stimulation battle tests. As a trained sniper, they know about stealth tactics, camouflage, infiltration, assassination, and has an intuitive understanding of trajectory physics for sharpshooting.
They are great battlefield commander. He/she/they uses their skills to lead rookie pilots in several successful missions for training. As a commander they have superb knowledge of coordinating military tactics and have a lot of battlefield intuition. Leads a squad of other ace veteran mecha pilots. Always looking for enemy veteran ace pilots to test their skills against.
They have a strong tactical sense. They know when to show restraint and not pursue an opponent too far. They also show adept perception, awareness, & intelligence. They are able to discern the properties and vulnerabilities of enemy mecha suits from a single observation. From there they are able to execute a counter-strategy.
They are at the peak of their piloting skill even while using an inferior older mecha suit. They critically damaged an advanced next gen mecha suit. They are shown use of pragmatic and clever tactics over their mecha piloting career as a mecha pilot for the federation space navy and as a freelance mercenary for a mercenary company often catching their enemies off guard.
He/she/they have sharp senses and rapid information processing ability. He/she/they have great adaptability in combat. He/she/they have exceptional mecha shooting precision enhanced by their abilities as a super soldier. It became the core of their piloting style.
He/she/they always try to disable the enemy mechas first without lethally harming or killing the mecha pilot by aiming for weapons or body parts. They target the mecha except for the cockpit. Won’t go out of their way to kill enemy pilots. But can if there is no other choice or when there is no other option as a trained soldier. They value life as a person as a personal value but can kill or injure enemies when necessary with their training. They aren’t naive or idealistic but are realistic and have a grounded perception about the reality of war and combat.
As a super soldier with black ops and spec ops military training their fighting ability developed quickly and greatly. As their time in combat as a powered armor soldier and mecha pilot increased. He/she/they are a talented pilot with great drive and focus to better themselves in their piloting skills. Is as a one-man army type mecha pilot being able to hold his/her/their own against several next gen mech suits single-handedly and even forcing them to retreat.
Goes into sorties with enemy mech suits with the support of their mecha squadron. He/she/they is talented and favors close-range combat, medium ranged combat, and long-range combat. This comes in handy due to both of their mecha suit's capabilities to handle any form of combat in any terrain. He/she/they is a very adept pilot capable of piloting any mecha suit. Most so when using their own personal, customized, & upgraded next gen mecha suits.
He/she/they remains focused, collected, calm, and precise when piloting. They are able to perform many difficult flight maneuvers and battle maneuvers in mock duels, VR simulations, augmented reality, physical training, and real combat situations.  As a mecha suit pilot they are also excellent and highly skilled.
He/she/they quickly adapts and improvises to sudden changes in environment conditions such as arctic, desert, jungle, forest, swamp, mountain, volcanic, aerial atmospheric combat, or even zero gravity space combat. They also adapt and improvise to sudden changes in opponents' tactics, read their thoughts and movements, and are able to predict their next attack.
They are a skilled fighter who excels in precision. They are capable of dodging volleys of missiles head-on. They are even flying close to them. Almost touching them in flight without setting them off. In mecha suit battles, they are good at high-speed maneuvering honed from their experience piloting aircraft and spacecraft.
Has the capacity to use covers, the environment, or even the terrain to their advantage. Even if all of their weapons have been incapacitated.  They will still manage to weaponize the other abilities of their mecha itself as well. As a mecha pilot and operator they have tactical skill and make use of their surroundings, cover, & the environment in combat. They are an experienced officer and extraordinary tactician. He/she/they are also a cunning strategist and tactician. Managing to outsmart many of their enemies, even when they are not piloting a mobile suit.
They use the droid and dumb and simple AIs to analyze the opponent to provide navigational and tactical data during battle while they pilot the mecha suit. These droids also pilot small unmanned drones to fight enemy spacecraft, aircraft, or tanks so the mecha pilot can focus on fighting enemy mecha suits. The droids and dumb AIs also complete tasks for the mecha pilot when they are piloting.
After being unofficially trained by veteran ace pilots Fumiyoko Sakagawa a metahuman ace mecha pilot of the space navy and her wife Kira Nova a superhuman alien ace of the Andromeda Empire space force they honed their piloting skills.
Before becoming a full-fledged pilot they had undergone official training at the military mecha piloting academy. It was there that they showed natural talent as a mecha pilot ranking 1st in mecha suit piloting. Their bold leadership style and leadership skills which they are well known for was developed at the military mecha piloting academy. They had natural experience as a pilot and high scores at the academy. As a mecha pilot they are very mindful of their situation. They are always aware of the status of both their opponent's mecha and their own mecha.
By manipulating space particles, it can alter and absorb enemy cannon attacks through the shields, forcefield, & arm mounted shield. Has a ballistic and hard light war door shield mounted on the mechas left arm that has the ability to absorb and nullify mecha cannon weaponry. The absorbed space particles can be used later. When deployed a spherical hard light, plasma, laser, energy shield and spherical forcefield, capable of absorbing enemy mecha cannon attacks, surrounds the mecha suit. It then redirects and doubles the attacks back at the enemies. Uses a system where space particles permeate its mecha frame increasing its output at an accelerated rate.
They have an ability to perfectly synchronize with their mecha suits. They, as a bionic and cyborg, communicate directly with the AIs of the mecha and the mecha itself directly when piloting. Super soldier pilots unifies their senses with the mecha itself. A drawback is the endurance and stamina of the pilot is consumed and needs to be recovered. Takes advantage of their knowledge of human, alien, & divine hand to hand and melee martial arts. Uses the output of the mecha to deliver devastating opening moves and devastating finishing moves on enemy  mecha suits. Uses space particle emissions to triple mecha suit stats and abilities. This also boosted their fighting abilities by 120% and made them virtually unstoppable.
The mecha suit is installed with a system to maximize its space particle emission. The transparent sapphire, amethyst, crimson, gold, & emerald parts are for storing particles for later emission. More of them are hidden below the armor. Normally, these particles are used for enhancing the mechas close combat, medium range, and long ranged attacks. When they assimilate with the mecha suit its performance improves by more than five times. When activated the parts blaze gold, silver, crimson, & sapphire with celestial, stellar, primordial, & cosmic elemental powers. All the particles stored in the suit can be released at once causing the entire mecha suit to be engulfed in cosmic, primordial, & divine flames, lightning, wind, & ice.
The mecha suit customized, upgraded and updated many times to go from worthless, common, uncommon, unique, exotic, rare, epic, legendary, arcane, mythical, blessed, & even divine rarity.

Avoid over-reliance on gear. Story and composition still matter most.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. What is the difference between a gimbal and a video stabilizer? A gimbal uses motors and sensors to actively stabilize your device in real-time, offering smooth footage even with movement. A video stabilizer, on the other hand, is often a passive system—like a counterweight rig—that relies on balance rather than electronics. Both are effective, but gimbals tend to offer more advanced functionality.
2. Do I really need a gimbal for my iPhone? If you’re shooting video regularly—especially for content creation, vlogging, or social media—then yes, a gimbal for iPhone can dramatically improve your footage quality. It minimizes shakes and jitters, helping your iPhone deliver professional-grade visuals with minimal effort.
3. Can I use a sports camera with a stabilizer or gimbal? Yes, many sports cameras are compatible with gimbals and stabilizers designed specifically for action cams. Some high-end sports cameras also have built-in electronic stabilization, which can be enhanced further when used with external stabilizing gear.
4. Are all iPhone gimbals compatible with every iPhone model? Not always. While most iPhone gimbals are designed to accommodate a range of models, it’s essential to check the gimbal’s weight and size support, especially if you use a phone case or add-on lenses.
5. Is a video stabilizer better than in-camera stabilization? In-camera stabilization is improving, but it often can't match the results of a physical video stabilizer or iPhone gimbal. External stabilizers offer more precise control, particularly for dynamic movement or cinematic shots.
Final Thoughts
Investing in the right tools for your style—whether an iPhone gimbal, a reliable video stabilizer, or a tough-as-nails sports camera—means your content is future-proof. You’re not just improving quality; you’re enhancing your creative range and storytelling power.
With a smartphone in one hand and a bit of planning, today’s creator can capture pro-grade footage, no matter where they are. So choose your gear smartly, test often, and create fearlessly.

Whether you're new to the sport or a seasoned player, there's one thing that can make a huge difference in your performance: golf analysis. Understanding your swing mechanics and identifying areas for improvement is crucial to mastering the game, and with the right tools, it’s easier than ever.
Tumblr media
But how can golf analysis actually help you become a better golfer? Let’s dive into the technology behind golf analysis and how it’s transforming the way players practice and compete. Plus, we'll look at how apps designed for track and field athletes are influencing golf training methods, offering insights that can apply to your game.
What Is Golf Analysis?
Golf analysis is the use of technology to evaluate and improve your golf swing. Whether it's through video analysis, motion tracking, or sensors that capture swing data, golf analysis provides detailed feedback on your mechanics. It can help you identify problems with your stance, swing path, grip, and even your follow-through. The result? A more efficient and consistent swing.
Unlike traditional coaching methods where feedback is based purely on observation, golf analysis offers precise, data-driven insights. This makes it easier to understand what’s happening in your swing and make adjustments with accuracy.
How Can Golf Analysis Improve Your Game?
Identify Swing Flaws: With golf analysis, you can see exactly where your swing might be going wrong. Whether it’s a poor grip or improper body rotation, the technology can pinpoint the exact flaw. This eliminates the guesswork and allows you to focus on the key areas that need improvement.
Track Progress: Golf is a sport of constant improvement. By regularly using golf analysis, you can track your progress over time. Whether you’re improving your swing speed, reducing your slice, or increasing your accuracy, you'll have clear metrics to show how far you’ve come.
Real-Time Feedback: With the latest golf analysis apps, you can get real-time feedback on your swing. No need to wait until after practice to review your session. You can instantly see the results, make adjustments, and try again, all while the information is fresh in your mind.
Customizable Goals: Golf analysis helps you set specific, measurable goals for your game. Instead of just aiming for a better score, you can focus on tangible aspects of your swing, such as improving your swing plane, hitting the ball at a higher launch angle, or increasing your clubhead speed.
How Track and Field Apps Are Influencing Golf Analysis
Interestingly, some of the principles behind track and field apps are being applied to golf analysis. In track and field, athletes use apps to track their movements, speed, and technique. These apps often include features like video capture, motion tracking, and real-time analysis, similar to what we see in modern golf analysis tools.
For example, a track and field app might track an athlete's sprinting form by capturing their stride and posture. In a similar way, golf analysis apps can capture data on your stance, swing tempo, and follow-through, helping you make adjustments to improve both the technical and athletic aspects of your game.
The idea is that by breaking down complex movements and analyzing them with technology, athletes—whether in golf or track and field—can refine their technique and achieve faster results.
The Future of Golf Analysis
The future of golf analysis is even more exciting. With innovations like AI-driven feedback, virtual coaching, and advanced motion capture technology, golf analysis is becoming more personalized and accessible. Imagine having an app that not only analyzes your swing but also gives you tailored drills based on your specific weaknesses.
Additionally, just like track and field apps, golf analysis tools are becoming more portable and user-friendly. You no longer need to be in a professional golf studio to get high-quality data. Many golf apps now allow you to analyze your swing from home, at the range, or even while on the course.
Conclusion
Golf analysis is no longer a luxury reserved for professional athletes. Whether you’re a casual player or a dedicated golfer, using technology to assess your swing and improve your performance is now easier and more accessible than ever. By incorporating golf analysis into your training routine, you can identify areas for improvement, track your progress, and set achievable goals to enhance your overall game.
And as track and field apps continue to inspire innovation in sports tech, the tools available for golfers will only get smarter, faster, and more precise, helping you elevate your game to the next level.

If you’re in the market for a high-quality PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) webcam with AI tracking, 4K resolution, and advanced customization options, the OBSBOT Tiny 2 Lite might just be what you’re looking for. This webcam is designed for content creators, streamers, and professionals who need smooth tracking, great image quality, and flexible controls. I spent some time testing this camera, pushing it through different lighting conditions, tracking movements, and experimenting with its AI-powered features. Here’s everything you need to know. Features & First Impressions The OBSBOT Tiny 2 Lite is packed with features that set it apart from standard webcams: ✔ AI Human Tracking – The camera intelligently follows you as you move, keeping you perfectly framed whether you’re sitting or standing. You can choose between standard motion, upper body tracking, and close-up tracking for different scenarios. ✔ 4K Video Quality – The webcam captures sharp 4K footage, though the zoom is digital-only, so don’t expect optical zoom levels of clarity. ✔ Preset Positions – You can set up to three camera presets, switching between them instantly with a click. This is super handy if you need different angles or effects during a call or stream. ✔ Gesture Controls – A simple hand wave can zoom in, zoom out, or trigger tracking—cool, but it can be a bit annoying if you talk with your hands a lot (like I do). ✔ Manual Camera Settings – If you like tweaking exposure, shutter speed, ISO, and white balance, you can fine-tune everything directly through the OBSBOT software. ✔ Bokeh & Beauty Effects – The webcam features background blur (bokeh), HDR, and skin-smoothing effects. The advanced mode even uses GPU acceleration for better results. ✔ Low-Light Performance – In a dark room, the camera still holds up surprisingly well. Auto-exposure sometimes needs manual compensation, but overall, the noise levels remain low. ✔ Built-in Microphone – It’s there, and it’s usable. But if you’re serious about audio quality, an external mic is still the way to go. Personal Experience Using the OBSBOT Tiny 2 Lite Straight out of the box, the setup was quick and easy. The tracking feature is one of the best I’ve seen—it smoothly follows you, even in low light or fast movements. However, if you’re someone who gestures a lot, be careful because the gesture controls can trigger zooming when you don’t want it to (I found that out the hard way during a Zoom call). The bokeh effect is decent, but you’ll get the best results if you enable the advanced GPU-accelerated mode. The manual exposure controls are a big plus, especially if you like dialing in the perfect lighting instead of relying on auto settings. One of my favorite features is the auto-sleep mode. If you’re not using the camera for a while, it automatically powers down. You can also disable the microphone directly from the settings, which is great if you prefer using an external mic. Pros & Cons ✅ Pros ✔ AI human tracking is smooth and reliable ✔ 4K resolution with solid image quality ✔ Manual exposure and white balance controls ✔ Preset positions make switching angles easy ✔ Decent low-light performance ✔ Auto-sleep function for privacy ❌ Cons ✖ No optical zoom—only digital zoom ✖ Gesture controls can accidentally trigger zooming ✖ Built-in mic is okay, but an external mic is better ✖ Some AI effects require GPU acceleration to work well Product Specifications Resolution: 4K UHD Frame Rate: Up to 60 FPS PTZ Control: AI-powered human tracking Zoom: 4x digital zoom Microphone: Dual omni-directional mics Connectivity: USB-C Low-Light Mode: Yes Bokeh Effect: Yes (basic & advanced GPU mode) AI Gesture Controls: Yes Auto-Sleep Mode: Yes Conclusion: Is It Worth It? The OBSBOT Tiny 2 Lite is a solid AI-powered webcam that delivers great image quality, reliable tracking, and useful customization options. While the lack of optical zoom
and the built-in mic’s average performance are minor downsides, the overall package is impressive, especially for content creators, streamers, and professionals who need a webcam that can keep up with them. If you want a versatile, high-quality webcam with AI tracking, 4K video, and flexible manual controls, the OBSBOT Tiny 2 Lite is a great choice.

motion Capture!
Blog 23 (Practice 1: Developing Skills)
Tumblr media
Source: Google
In motion capture, there is only one problem: capturing the movements of a real person and implanting them into a virtual character. There are so many solutions. the first solution is to use sensors. As in your phones, you have a gyroscope on an accelerometer is there. In the same way, mocap suits mount the inertial sensors on your body and track your movements. Codemiko and Xanadu like creators use these suits. If we see the VFX breakdown of the Avengers movie, we will know that the actors are wearing the same suits. The people who have done tracking in video editing or VFX they understand how easy it is when to track when their is a pattern on the surface.
This Pattern is made by these markers. By tracking markers internally our movement is determined. And then comes third and my favorite marker less capture. In this pure deep learning is used without using any  marker or sensor. Only by using camera footage our movement is approximated. Deep motion, move. ai, wonder dynamics, they use marker less motion capture. Now  this captured data is given to a virtual character. which is made up of similar joints and bone structures.
