#AND VENTI MAY HAVE KNOWN WHAT IT WAS LIKE TO BE FREE

Note
Hi yes I was vibing and then suddenly got slapped with the thought that the only reason the course of the timeline went out of wack, the only reason Cecil was even in a position to become an archon was because of Venti sacrificing themself to protect the gang. stwbk happened because of an act of love and love is an overarching theme for better and for worse and I am going to crumble into a million pieces-
google how do you like an ask a thousand times
but points at you!!!! yes!!!!!!!!
istaroth had accounted for many, many things. how the people feared decarabian, instead of adored. how the people sat in resentment. how they looked at the tower that kept them “safe” as though it were merely a target.
what she did not account for, however, was love.
she did not account for venti to develop a bond with this bard, a bond so strong it could very well shape history.
she did not account for venti to feel… sympathetic, for these humans. how they wished they could be as free as the wind itself.
she did not account for venti’s kindness, their understanding, their love that could stretch miles and miles.
she did not account for how greatly and deeply venti cared for these people.
and—most of all, she did not account for the people to love them back. to care just as much as they did.
so seeing the tower explode, seeing one of her children die, and seeing that instead of rejoining her, instead of returning to their family….
they stay with their friends. because they love each and every one of them.
(and seeing cecil visit her, with a wind spirit at their side that seems all too familiar.
and seeing that they share the same power, as faint as it is.
and having it dawn upon her.
all this time, the timeline had been changing right under her nose, and she was oblivious to every sign of it.
how interesting that is.
how strange that is.
this timeline will be held by an act of love til celestia falls, and beyond.)

ᯓ✿ hurts to put in words
ˋ°•*⁀➷ anemo boys realizing they’ve fallen out of love with you
ˋ°•*⁀➷ venti, xiao, kaedehara kazuha, shikanoin heizou, wanderer x gn! reader
₊˚ angst!! very angst!! established (toxic) relationship, small amount of violence, cheating, mentions of alcohol
Tumblr media
ᯓ✿ VENTI
it’s not like the anemo archon really knows his way around love despite having lived for thousands of years. for him, it was as simple as the spark between the two of you had faded. he had grown apathetic towards you, even emotionless at times. it wouldn’t take a genius to realize what was going on. the love that once resided in his eyes when he looked at you was replaced with a look of pain. he didn’t know how to leave a relationship, but he doesn’t want to hurt you more than this drawn-out and dead romance already has. he’d find himself sipping on some wine, reminiscing the time before the love had faded. he misses those days, but he couldn’t force himself to fall for you again.
ᯓ✿ XIAO
he swore to protect you, but his devotion only weighed more heavily on his psyche as time went by. what was once pure love and passion became hurt. it stung to meet your eye, even more so when you cleaned and bandaged the wounds he may have sustained in battle. he told himself it was to protect you from getting hurt, forcing himself to shut down his emotions and subsequently kill his love for you with his bare hands. playful banter was replaced with arguments in which so many hurtful things were hurled at each other. sometimes he really did look at you with pure hate in his eyes, regarding you as nothing more than a nuisance and hinderance to his job of protecting the people of liyue.
ᯓ✿ KAEDEHARA KAZUHA
the various things he had written for you would gather dust in his room, having gone to waste as his whirlwind romance ended silently. he realized he no longer loved you when you kissed him and he felt nothing. his heart had once fluttered whenever he was near you, but those butterflies in his stomach had simply fluttered away. he’d find himself wondering if it was love at all, choosing to categorize it as a temporary infatuation to justify his growing apathy towards you. he’s quite literally free as the wind, so it wouldn’t take much to simply leave. he’s not going to force himself to be with you when he feels nothing. the love had simply faded with no rhyme or reason.
ᯓ✿ SHIKANOIN HEIZOU
he’d spend more time at work when he realizes he’s fallen out of love. the excuse for avoiding you is that he’s just busy with work, when in reality he’s often just pacing around his office, figuring ways to break up with you painlessly. whenever he’d say he loves you, it was strained and forced, obvious that he didn’t mean it. he had loved you at one point, but his forcing himself to still be affectionate despite having fallen out of love with you is simply exhausting. it’s all he could do to avoid you and the way you hadn’t seemed to stop loving him. maybe he’d start seeing other people behind your back and fall for someone else the same way he had with you.
ᯓ✿ WANDERER
he’s the only one who’s blunt about it. he’d simply tell you that he doesn’t love you anymore with disgust in his eyes. he doesn’t have it in him to be nice, and you had known that when you started dating him. it took so long for him to open up to you and begin being affectionate, but it had simply faded and been replaced with distaste and words that sting when they come out of his mouth. he had never said he loved you, but he at least acted like it sometimes. nowadays, his affection was replaced by disgustingly blunt and mean comments that seem to be true. he had simply been betrayed too many times to truly love anyone again, and you were the prime example of a failed attempt to love.

Tumblr media
☆ one at a time, but still carrying a lot of meaning.
yes, it may just be one kiss, but it speaks more than words ever could. you can feel the love they have for you in the way their lips slot perfectly with yours, being so gentle with you as their hands carress your cheeks. it's a short kiss, but long enough for the world to silence just for a moment, as if it were only the two of you, alone together...
diluc, kazuha, alhaitham, albedo, xiao, cyno, zhongli
☆ shy kisses, always looking over their shoulder to make sure you aren't being watched.
it's not that they find being with you embarassing, archons, no, but they can just never seem to gather the confidence to lock lips with yours around other people, or even kiss your cheek. it does mean they're all over you once you're alone though! as much as they like kissing you, they like to show their affection in other ways too, like bringing you gifts or helping with chores, though they might sneak a kiss in here and there...
chongyun, gorou, xiao
☆ peppers your face, teasing around your lips.
oh, how they love to tease, ghosting their lips over yours, only to move past them and onto your cheek, up to your forehead, and around to your other cheek. hell, maybe even down your neck, but never on your lips. don't get me wrong, they want to feel your lips on theirs just as badly as you do, but they can't give it you that easily...
venti, childe, itto, kaeya, alhaitham (behind closed doors), tighnari, heizou
☆ forehead kisses is as far as they'll go in public.
they aren't huge fans of pda, the thought of having so many pairs of eyes on them sending shivers down their spine (or maybe even a feeling of disgust). they do love you though, and as soon as you're together behind closed doors, they'll show you. their lips crash onto yours as soon as the door clicks shut, not pulling away until you're gasping for air...
scara, gorou, xiao, tighnari
☆ rarely kisses you in public because of their status.
if only they weren't so well known across the nation, maybe you'd be able to sneak a kiss every now and then, but with all eyes on them as it is, there's no way you'd be able to convince them. they love you so much it hurts, but sometimes there has to be limits; damaging their social status would only cause a domino effect, eventually taking it's toll on you too, and they can't have that...
ayato, ei, ayaka, ningguang, cyno, sara, kokomi, gorou
☆ countless kisses, they don't even realise it, it's become habit.
they must give you hundreds of kisses a day, it would be impossible to count. they think nothing of it; kissing you whenever they see you; when they need to get your attention; when you have sauce on your lips; goodbye kisses; goodnight kisses; good morning kisses... the list goes on and on. they never seem to stop, and quite frankly, you don't want them to...
kaveh, itto, thoma, venti, childe, heizou

"HEADS UP!!"
{💙} HELLO!!!!! I'm Leonardo Hamato, otherwise known as Leo(he/him), though I do typically refer to myself as Neon as well. This is just my personal blog to post art and talk about my INCREDIBLE thoughts/opinions on.
{⭐️} Other sourcemates/Leos are entirely free to interact and even encouraged!! Genuinely I'd LOVE to meet more people from source(which technically means Rise but any TMNT iteration is beyond welcomed with open arms🫶🫶).
{‼️} This is NOT a roleplay blog!! I'm an introject(or fictkin⁉️⁉️, unsure atm but likely introject) and while that's important to know, I'm still a real person and won't always act exactly like how you may expect from YOUR interpretation of Rise!Leo in canon.
Boundaries/DNI(which you SHOULD read) + other stuff under the cut
{⚠️} BOUNDARIES/DNI :
Don't make suggestive jokes/implications about me or anyone else on here?? I'm a teen and even if I wasn't that's just weird...
PLEASE don't discuss "ships" of me and anyone else on this blog, it's like shipping real people and it's severely uncomfortable
DO NOT vent in my asks I DONT KNOW YOU!! WE ARE STRANGERS!!!!!! I AM A TEENAGER!! NOT A LICENSED PROFESSIONAL!!!!!!!!!!!
General DNI along with proship/comship, TCEST, fakeclaim(as in people who accuse others of fakeclaiming), and general syscourse DNI. Syscourse/fakeclaim stuff is simply because I don't wanna be involved in the drama of what "counts" and what "doesn't," it's nothing personal and I just wanna have fun man

though the wind may carry everyone's woes, who carries the wind's?
summary. friends tend to show other friends the most vulnerable parts of themselves. trigger & content warnings. blood, hand injury, implied self-destructive behavior (not the reader). tropes, pairings, fic length, & other notes. reverse hurt/comfort. venti & reader. 1.4k words. they/them pronouns for reader. author's thoughts. i dont write about venti enough. hes my favorite ever. anyway of course i decide to write an angsty fic for him when i havent written about him in a while LMAOSHSKGJ also in this oneshot [name] is implied to be related to a major historical figure in mondstadt (like jean, diluc, & eula).
Tumblr media
       "Venti?"
It wasn't uncommon for a certain windborne bard to worm his way into their bed at night; after a lifetime of being cared for by him, nurtured by the winds themselves to be smart, independent, and strong, they felt it was only right to return the favor when he needed it. Some nights, he'd stumble into their residence drunk out of his mind—they didn't mind much. He was quite touchy and affectionate in such a state. It was cute. As an Archon, his hangovers were much more manageable than some of their other friends' (a certain Cavalry Captain was a nightmare to deal with when hungover), which was an added bonus. However, not all nights were so calm and easy. Some nights were more... difficult. Emotional.
To be so close to an Archon meant seeing them at their absolute worst.
       In the Anemo Archon's case...
They tried to remove most mirrors in their home to prevent the very scenario they were now presented with. Still, at least one needed to stay, and that was the bathroom mirror. Perhaps it would have been a wise idea to cover it in some way; accomodating their home to suit the bard's emotional needs was something they'd do in a heartbeat. 'A simple bedsheet should do,' they mused fleetingly.
His mortal name garnered no response, so they tried again:
"Barbatos... please look at me," they whispered softly, hand held out invitingly so that, if he so desired, he could initiate or reject physical contact. Their gaze flickered between his bloodied knuckles to the pieces of shattered glass spread around to the crater in their wall where a mirror had once been in tact.
Certainly, the deity at their feet was much stronger than what people gave him credit for.
Even so, not a single spark of fear ignited in their chest; all they could wonder was how they'd explain the hole in their wall and the mirror shattered beyond repair when getting everything fixed or replaced. Never would they be afraid of someone so gentle. Venti—Barbatos, rather—was not the kind of Archon to bring harm and destruction upon anyone other than himself unless it was completely necessary. After having known him for so long, any fear that they may have felt when being presented with an emotional, heavily worshipped god was gone. He would never so much as think about hurting them. He'd only ever hurt himself, much to their despair. If there was ever any way for them to take away his pain, they'd do so in an instant. Barbatos deserved so much better than how the world treated him; that's what they thought, anyway. Perhaps they were biased.
With the side of their bare foot, they gingerly nudged some of the shards away, careful not to harm themselves.
Upon hearing a barely supressed sniffle, their chest tightened, flicking away the glass with more purpose once they saw the first tear fall.
Once they lowered themselves to the glass-free ground, the bard was quick to shift closer to them, laying his head on their shoulder. "I'm sor— sorry—" he cried between hiccups, nimble fingers clutching their silken nightshirt with suffocating strength. His knuckles throbbed, but he paid them no mind, nor did they to the fresh blood that dripped onto their clothes with the contact. "I didn't— didn't mean to—"
"Shh. It's okay. It's okay. It's just a mirror. I can replace it," they reassured in a hushed murmur, pressing their cheek to the top of his head and wrapping their arms around him. Fingers calloused from years of archery, hunting, and mandatory lyre lessons rubbed little soothing circles on whatever skin they could reach. "Let it out. I'm here. You're okay. Let it all out."
He sobbed harder into their chest at that. All they could do was gently hush him, subconsciously rocking back and forth as if to soothe a child, until he calmed down to coherency. There was no way to help if they couldn't understand him, after all.
(Despite that, they knew him well enough to know what troubled him so terribly. Over time, they learned that it was best to wait for him to talk rather than try to reassure him before they could tell what exactly he wanted them to do. Sometimes all he needed was a shoulder to cry on; sometimes he needed reassurance.)
A cool burst of wind caught their attention. After concluding that it wasn't the god's doing, they looked over their shoulder.
       Oh.
There, in the doorway, a small cluster of wind wisps looked inward, chittering nervously at the sight of one of their own crying. They weren't unfamiliar with the little beings; more than once, they've woken up only to find the wisps snuggled in their hair and clothes with Venti laughing at them good-naturedly, telling them that they legally could not move until the wind wisps decided to first. They'd scoff, but abide by his rules anyway. As one would not dare to disturb a sleeping animal, they would not dare to disturb the sleeping winds.
Barbatos showed no objection to the way the wisps slowly drifted in, settling both on and around the Archon and his friend. He absently stroked a finger over one of the little ones, slowly calming down to a more grounded state. A comfortable silence descended, occupied only by occassional sniffles and chirps.
"Would he be mad at me?"
A million thoughts raced through their mind at the sudden question.
Would he? There was no easy answer to such a question, despite how deeply they wished there was. There was no way to know what a long-deceased person would think of the way a friend chose to honor him. If they were to make a guess... they imagined that the bard, the boy who once led the resistance against Decarabian alongside one of their ancestors, wouldn't hold it against Venti.
Shakily, they carded a hand through his dishevelled hair, mentally noting to tend to his wounded knuckles later. A trembling kiss was pressed to his forehead.
With all the strength they could manage, they tried to keep their voice from wavering.
"...I don't know. I didn't know him. I only know you, love." With their freehand, they ran their thumb soothingly over his cheekbone, eyes fixed in the direction of the ceiling. They'd cry if they were to see how wounded and defeated he looked; they knew themselves well enough to know that. "I'd... imagine not, though. He sounds like a very gentle soul at heart. I think he'd understand, Barbatos."
       "...Maybe."
"You don't sound very convinced." A deep sigh left their nose as they kissed him again, only now on the crown of his head. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, darling. I'm sorry the world has treated you so poorly thus far. I— I wish I could help you, but I just... all I can offer you is a safe space. You're safe with me. There's nothing you could say or do that would make me angry with you. I know it must be so hard being immortal, but through the legacy of my bloodline, I am too. You can tell me anything. I like to think you'll always be safe with us, with me."
"...Perhaps so," Barbatos whispered in reply. "Your family was always very kind, to me and that bard and anyone else who needed a secure place to hide in a world of insecurity."
"So I've heard. I suppose it runs in the family."
"...Can we stay like this for a while?"
       "Sure."
The silence returned once again. Rough fingertips drew random shapes and patterns on the Anemo Archon's skin. When his weight fell heavier on their chest, theiy dared to peer down.
"Barbatos?" They brushed some of his hair away from his face, heart shattering into a million pieces at the sight of remnants of tears on his reddened cheeks. His chest rose and fell with the newfound peace and solace that unconsciousness offered, and yet, he still managed to look so... sad.
A shaky breath left their quivering lips.
"Celestia above," they choked pathetically, squeezing the sleeping god close to their body in a way that was undoubtedly protective. The wind wisps stirred, some quickly rushing to their face and seeming to try and pat their tears dry. More tears fell down their cheeks at the inherent kindness the winds displayed. "Give him a break. Please, please... he doesn't deserve this. Why do you all hate him so much?"
The gods in Celestia gave no indication of a response.

Yellow Roses
Hanging out with them (platonic)
Ft. Scaramouche, Kaveh, Venti
For @i23kazu 1.5k event!! It's super slay go check it out!
Tumblr media
Scaramouche:
Sometimes you forget he isn't actually your older brother
But hey! Who can fault you for that?
He's quick to anger and argumentative, often deadpanning at you and flicking your forehead
But that's really the worst of his wrath towards you
And even that's negligible with how obviously he worries for you
Scara is someone who's known betrayal after betrayal coming from the people closest to him
He's never had a sibling he could bond with, the closest being the Raiden Shogun, who really behaved like anything but family
So it's no surprise he's reluctant to look up to others, but that doesn't mean you're the same as he is
You're free to idolise him all you want! He promises he'll take care of you, and your trust will never be betrayed
"Watch it!" Scara yells as he catches the back of your shirt before you go tumbling off the edge of a cliff. "Geez, idiot. You'd get yourself killed if I weren't here!"
Don't let his anger fool you. As you sheepishly apologise you add that you could only be that careless because you knew he'd have your back. You think he's about to scold you again, but instead, he looks sheepish himself.
"Yeah. I do. So don't even think about being so reckless unless I'm around, got it?"
Kaveh:
It's not hanging out with Kaveh if he doesn't complain about his roommate
But it's also not a hangout with Kaveh without the rule "you gotta kiss your homies goodnight and shi"
Being in his innermost circle means having an obligation to let him drench all your favourite shirts in his tears as the most mundane of things send him hurtling into despair
You think you can prepare for it?
Wrong. They're so infrequent that you'll almost forget he does it and then you'll say you brush your teeth a certain way which reminds him of his mom teaching him to brush his teeth and he's sobbing into your chest
Bro can't catch a break
Likewise you're free to torment him with your wails as well
You kind of have to or he'll feel bad about it so...just bully him about his hair or something trivial so he feels less burdened to be overly considerate of you
"Kaveh? You seem pretty down."
"I'm not. I'm fine."
"About as fine as your thinning hairline, sure."
You hear an offended gasp as he whips around with an accusatory finger jabbing at you. "You take that back!" He demands, immediately flaring up in defence, getting all huffy like a peacock preening itself as he digs into you in retaliation.
He does feel a little better after lashing out, and tends to lay on your shoulder as he finally caves and tells you what's been bothering him.
Venti:
You feel like he knows everything about you
And he probably does
He knows all your tells for all your emotions you may try to hide, and while he does respect your space, there's times he does everything he can to get under your skin because he knows bottling it up isn't healthy
He enjoys writing songs with you!
Doesn't matter if you're neither linguistically nor musically inclined, he insists on getting your input
Very attuned to your emotions and great at matching your energy
You're down to clown? Count him in! He's a few dastardly schemes he wouldn't mind letting you in on *wink wink*
Feeling down? That's just fine too, lay on his shoulder and tell him about it! He's more than willing to listen
Or even if you'd just like to sit in silence with him
"Wanna hear a tune, my friend?" He says with a mischievous grin.
You nod, curious to see what he'd drafted up. Except it's a ballad about raiding a rich tycoon's wine cellar. In great detail. He's obviously trying to hint at something.
"Venti, Master Diluc is going to slaughter us."
"Only if we get caught!" He insists, with a knavish giggle. And inevitably, you find that same mischief creeping onto your lips to turn it into a grin as wide as his own. You really did hope you wouldn't get caught this time...hopefully....

Commission for @unkownknowledge
Can I please commission Venti saving a transfem reader from their transphobic family?(And maybe falling in love?) With the fic being Venti helping reader find feminine clothes?
I did my very best so I hope you like it! Please read the tags before reading this work.
You have been uncomfortable in your skin for as long as you could remember.
However, you were only a kid back then, so it’s understandable why you couldn’t figure out why you felt so awful.
You were a teenager when you finally realized why.
It was only out of curiosity, but you tried on your mother’s lipstick and dress.
You couldn’t bear to look at yourself in the mirror before, but now that you are dressed femininely…
For the first time, you felt free. You’re so beautiful.
This is who you truly are. You are a woman.
Excited, you share the news with your family. You were disappointed.
Your father attempted to make you “snap out of your delusion” by intensively training you in swordsmanship and archery, hoping his son will “come back”.
You told him you have always been his DAUGHTER. He made you run until you couldn’t move.
Your mother couldn’t even bare to look at you. She hid her makeup and dresses.
It didn’t bother you because you bought your own, but it broke your heart to see her reject you. She acted like you didn’t exist.
Dinners are quiet. Uncomfortable. Unbearable.
You grew afraid for your survival. Your parents may kick you out of their home at any time.
Tearfully, you conveyed your fears to your friend, Venti. You hadn’t known him long, but you made you feel safe.
“Can you fight?”
You nodded. Your father drilled swordsmanship and archery lessons in you since you were 13.
“Great! Now, show me what you can do.”
He brought you to a small hilichurl camp and asked you to exterminate them. You did it, and while he gave you some slight assistance, you mostly managed to do it on your own.
Satisfied, he told you, “You should be able to be an adventurer and earn an honest living, then.”
You cried. He smiled and held you.
That was the day you received your Anemo vision.
He was there when you registered yourself at the Adventurer’s Guild.
The Guild Branch offers rooms for adventurers who don’t have homes. That’s where Bennett stays and he’s happy to have someone near his age that he can talk to.
Venti gave you occasional assistance on your commissions. And if he can’t, he points you to an adventurer party that can. Or you like going with Bennett, if you’re looking up for a challenge.
Soon, you had formed an adventuring party who you can trust to have your back.
Venti observed you live your life freely with a supportive grin. He is so proud of you.
A smile suits your beautiful face rather than the constant gloom he used to see.
You turn to grace him with that smile that made his heart throb with longing. He smiles back softly.
As for you, you are content.
You may have lost your family forever but you had yourself.
You have YOU and it is enough.
"Venti, hurry up! They have this pretty leather armor on sale and I don’t want to miss out!"
"Ugh… alright, alright." He groaned, looking like he had just woken up from an alcohol-induced sleep last night. He agreed with you that he should hurry but he made no attempt to walk faster.
You sighed affectionately at him. "Did you have a fun night?"
He brightened slightly, recalling all of what happened last night at the Angel's Share. Judging by how elated the bard is, you could imagine that he was happy. Although, perhaps at the expense of Charles or Master Diluc. "Indeed, I did. A little too much fun, in fact. I’m nearly out of mora."
"Oh, Venti. And here I was about to ask you to treat me to lunch later."
"Have mercy upon my wallet."
You giggled as you reached Wagner’s shop and slam-opened the door like you owned the place. That earned you a snort from Venti and a grunt of irritation from the blacksmith. The anemo god seemed happy to see you so confident now, unlike the trembling lost girl he had met a few years ago. He now wonders what you would think if you knew who he truly was. For now, he's content to keep it secret. He'll tell you one day, just not right now.
"If it weren't for the fact that you are one of my most loyal customers, I'd have kicked you out immediately," Wagner grunted, giving you a lazy glare. "Now, I'm busy. Tell me what you want then scram."
Unbothered, you immediately place your order for your leather armor as well as asking him to sharpen your silver sword that has gone dull. Wagner takes your sword and get to work. Then you face Venti, who still looks like he's hungover. You give him a sympathetic smile and gave him a soft headpat, hoping to ease his suffering a bit.
"Thank you, dear friend," Venti sighed, leaning against your hand.
"You're welcome, Venti," you replied. You continue your ministrations until Wagner was done with your order. After that, you walked with the bard to a clothing store, intending you get yourself a few dresses and skirts. As a very busy adventurer, there are times when your clothes inevitably get caught in bushes, branches and thorns. Sometimes it either rips, tears, and gets singed from hilichurl and elemental monster attacks. Thankfully, your last commission paid exceptionally well and you're now able to afford new clothing. You took Venti with you in hopes of getting his opinion.
But you also wanted to dress up and impress him. And you hope to fish some compliments from him, too. You pray to Barbatos that Venti would find you beautiful.
A breeze blows past you softly. You turn to look at Venti, who's looking at you with flushed cheeks and a bright smile. You took both of those as good signs.
A ring from a bell echoes in the empty boutique when Venti opens the door to let you in first.
"After you, my lady." Venti bowed.
"Thank you, kind gentleman." you giggled.
Venti took a seat and you began choosing clothing with the help of the sales lady. He looks around, humming to himself as he tries to help out with searching for clothing that will suit you and your taste. His eyes landed on a mint-colored dress. It's not suitable for adventuring, but it'd be suitable for a small event that's coming up soon. It'll be a day full of singing and dancing. He could already imagine you having fun.
"Hey," Venti called for your attention, raising the hand that has the dress. "Will you be willing to try this on? I think you'll look great in it. I'll pay for it, no worries."
"You don't have to, Venti…" you felt breathless. The dress looks beautiful, but you can't help but blush at the realization that he wants you to match with his color scheme. The colors look like his own, just a little lighter.
"I insist. Now, try it on! I want to see you in it."
So you did. You even styled your hair in order to match the dress, and the lady assisting you even suggested some great accessories and shoes to go along with it. When you exited the changing room to face Venti, you were a little flustered over how much effort you put in order to impress him. You dare lift your eyes to try and see his reaction.
The bard just averted his eyes from you. You would've been disappointed if you didn't just witness how the blush on his cheeks spread across his face like a forest wildfire. You were honestly a little thrilled and pleased.
"Sooo…" you slowly spun in place. "How do I look?"
He's mumbling.
"What?" You walked closer.
"I said… you look stunning." He shyly looks up at you from where he's sitting. "Breathtaking. Beautiful. Gorgeous. The fairest lady in the land."
As he began to confidently rain praises on you, it's your turn to feel flustered. You laughed awkwardly, raising your hands to shield yourself from the onslaught of praise.
"Okay, okay, I get it! I guess I'll get it along with the rest of the clothes I picked earlier."
Despite your protest, you couldn't stop Venti from paying for all of the clothes as well as the accessiories you picked. And as he gently took your hand while he carried your bags, you felt like the most cherished woman in all of Mondstadt. Your heart couldn't help but skip a few beats whenever he squeezes your hand. Soon, you reach the Guild Headquarters where you stay.
"Good night, Venti. Thanks for accompanying me."
"Yeah. Good night."
None of you made another move. There's a slight tension in the air. Then Venti takes your hand and places a kiss on your knuckle, then bows, walking away into the streets of Mondstadt. He leaves you stunned, but ultimately very happy.

If I see one more Signora simp try to make up bullshit about Venti I’m gonna lose it.
They act like he kicked his feet up while Mondstadt was under attack and simultaneously that he personally killed Rostam. They say he “failed to protect Mondstadt.” That Signora should be mad at him.
“The Anemo Archon heard their agony, though he had refused to rule. But to protect his old friends' dream, and defend the wind-kissed fields of green, He woke from his long slumber anew, and with the sky dragon in battle he flew...”
Pasted directly from Elegy for the End’s description. Venti alongside Dvalin fought Durin (the biggest threat to Mondstadt) and won. End of story. There are no other possible interpretations. And what really gets me is that this description is where Signora’s backstory is. Meaning that in order for these people to know all the details about Rostam and whatnot they’d had to have read Elegy’s description and purposefully disregarded the part about Venti.
I don’t expect people to know all the niche little lore bits like I do, but don’t be a stubborn bitch and act like you know what you’re talking about when you absolutely do not.
So with all that in mind, how the hell did Venti “fail” Signora or Mondstadt? Was it because people died? Venti was fighting the biggest threat to Mondstadt away from the city so people wouldn’t get any more hurt than they already would. He can’t be in two places at once. Would they rather Venti let Durin run free while Dvalin tries and fails to fight him and Venti instead takes care of the little abyss monsters to protect people? He was protecting people the most by attacking the problem at its root. He can’t protect everyone. It’s war, people are gonna die. People died all over Teyvat, not just in Mondstadt because the cataclysm was brutal. How is that Venti’s fault?
Did he fail because Rostam died? Again, it’s war, people die and even a god can’t save everyone. Rostam isn’t special, many people fell like he did. And on top of that, Rostam wasn’t some innocent civilian who got caught up in the battle. He was a goddamn knight of favonius. It’s his whole fucking job to protect Mondstadt, to the death if necessary. Rostam would have known that he could die and he fought anyway because he had to.
Genuinely, what do people expect Venti to have done? Bring Rostam back from the dead? He may be a god but he isn’t omnipotent.
What really happened during the cataclysm that Signora simps can’t accept is that Venti protected Mondstadt from the most dangerous monster. Many people died because it was a huge violent battle, Rostam was one of them and died doing his job. Signora couldn’t handle it normally like everyone else who lost loved ones and didn’t know how to process her grief, so she went psycho and joined a terrorist organization to take her pain out on everyone else.

WHY DIDN’T YOU STOP ME ? ; friends
introducing the emo band ☆
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
characters ;
kuni: psychology major, when he was going through a rough patch in life, right around the breakup, he found therapy to be a reliable outlet for him. continuing on with life, kuni decided to study psychology to use his degree to help others. online, he’s a force to be reckoned with. a menace to his friends and fans, when kuni takes on his scaramouche/balladeer persona, everyone knows it’s time to pull out the screen recordings and twitter threads.
ajax: studying education, ajax seemed like a frat boy at heart but when he opened up to you, you could tell there was more to him than meets the eye. pursuing a college degree to help ease financial struggles at home, ajax may seem like a bit of an asshole at first, but he’s a friend you know to keep around. when he’s streaming he’s known as that guy - the one who says the most out of pocket shit and has the worst takes ever. he’s funny and goofy and everyone loves him, even his haters. childe and scaramouche are known as that duo, despite how much scaramouche likes to say he hates childe and hope he chokes on a dick and dies, you can find a few clips out there where scaramouche is being honest about how he feels about childe...
aether: journalist major, who has a side blog documenting everything he sees on his travels. aether, along with his twin sister, lumine, loves to see the sights and travel across teyvat. when he’s not in school, he likes posting dance covers and videos on social media and stream various vr videos. he met kuni completely by accident, running into each other head first while completely immersed in what they were looking at on their phones, but seeing as they had mutual friends (childe) they decided to get to know each other. you also know aether, seeing as lumine is in your friend group. you've talked a couple times and you enjoy reading his blogs from time to time.
kazuha: musical theater major, tending to perform on the streets with his various instruments just to cleanse the aura of the sad, sad college students that walk by him. no one really knows how kazuha became acquainted with kuni, he just happened to be there one day and then stuck with the rest. he's really just an enigma who will be there for you until the end. he likes to encourage his boyfriend to continue his youtube channel and can be seen in the backs of his streams being lovey-dovey with him or doing fornite emotes.
heizou: the criminal justice major, heizou is dedicated on becoming the next best detective in teyvat. he met kuni through shared classes they had together, working on a school project together as well, kuni deemed him worthy enough to be part of his friend group to which heizou brushed off. he was weirded out at first but after hearing about their shared side hobby of streaming, heizou was quick to take up the offer. he's chill, someone kuni goes to when there's no one else for him to turn to (aka when childe is busy).
xiao: a bit of the odd one out, xiao studies philosophy and is much more quieter than the rest of kuni's friend group. not much is known of him, and kuni doesn't push it, finding comfort in the shared secrets the boys both have. kuni doesn't understand how xiao has the patience to deal with his weird boyfriend who's always drunk when he meets him (which so happens to be his new roommate, fun!) but hey, xiao is happy, and that's that. he streams in his free time, the most popular clips of xiao being him raging throughout various story based video games he has played (with venti laughing at him for making a poor choice and getting his characters killed).
thoma: ah yes, the human development and family studies major, no one even knew that was a thing until thoma said it was his major. he's passionate about taking care of people and being of use, so when kuni was having a particularly bad day and thoma noticed that frown on his face in the halls... yeah, he couldn't get rid of him after that. thoma stuck around and honestly? kuni doesn't regret it, he's sweet, cares for his friends and even people he doesn't know - not a single mean bone in his body. he accidentally came onto scaramouche and childe's irl stream once (labeled "HOT TUB STREAM????" and it was childe standing in his kitchen sink with scara yelling at him to get out) and chat went crazy - falling in love with his voice and presence and quickly surged in followers thanks to that...
gorou: he! the veterinary science major, who also happens to minor in wildlife biology - gorou is called a lot of nicknames from his friends and dog boy is definitely the top contender. he really does act just like a dog... some would even say he was a dog in his past life. or something like that. he saw kuni caring for a stray cat outside the school campus and approached him. while kuni was apprehensive at first, gorou told him he was a vet student and he just wanted to make sure the cat was okay and wouldn't give him any diseases. he streams from time to time, mostly with his dog cam on but you'll find gorou is most active on tiktok. kuni likes to clown on him a lot but gorou knows he means well.
alhaitham: ah... yeah. the smartass history major who made kuni annoyed with his presence in the first place. how can someone be so smart yet so stuck-up? he was a pretenious asshole who kuni despised, but oh - oh. when kuni met kaveh... yeah, that was a duo to be messed with. they love tag teaming alhaitham to annoy the shit out of him. at least alhaitham has one thing going for him - his smarts. if kuni ever has a question, he'll definitely ask him first (no matter how sarcastic he wants to be about his answers). while alhaitham doesn't necessarily fit into the streamer category, he did modeling as a side job and got quite a fanbase from that.

Wanderer x fem! reader. NSFW for some smut mentioned and dark themes.
a/n: I wanted to do something little before I start answering some requests. Some of you may recognize something like this. There were a few things I forgot to add in the original piece and I wanted to include something sweet at the end. @xxventiswindblumexx I hope you like how I wrote her. There is a song to go with this one. Falls On Me by Fuel. Feel free to listen as you read.
You were dreaming again.
Again, it seemed that the Abyss had torn open out of nowhere. Chaos, and screaming echoed around you, every monster known in Teyvat was still darting about.
It even seemed to be snowing ash, mixing with the blood on the ground, making it stain darker through your clothes.
Groaning softly in pain, you coughed up a little bit of blood. Everything was the same yet felt different. Wanderer was laying unnaturally still.
Too still.
"Please, please give me some sign of life. You promised..." You murmured, moving up as best you could to kiss him gently.
A kiss to wake a sleeping prince.
"I can't do this without you.."
You felt his pinky finger wrap around yours when you gently stroked his cheek.
Your eyes fluttered open. You sat up, tears falling down onto the blanket. Biting your lower lip, you brushed them away.
Wanderer put down the pen he was using to make smart remarks about certain characters while he read one of your books. He didn't need sleep. But you did and he didn't understand it.
"You were talking in your sleep again, weirdo," He said softly as he closed the book.
"Oh, was I? I hope it wasn't anything weird," you replied, relief flooding in your eyes when he heard him speak. "Don't worry about it, it was nothing."
"If it was nothing, then why are you crying?" He countered, raising an eyebrow. "Quit it, you know I hate it when you do that."
"It was nothing. In fact, I don't even really remember what I was dreaming about, and I don't know why I am even crying," your eyes drifted to your bedroom door.
You'd remembered when you woke up, but now your mind and your heart seemed to calm all on its own. Like there was someone gently reminding you that it was only a dream and nothing more.
You smacked his arm when he playfully but seriously suggested that he could fuck you into falling asleep again. "No stop, I think my mom is listening at the door.
"Is she now?" Wanderer said, glancing at the bedroom door. "In the morning, then?"
"Yeah, maybe." You rested your head on his chest.
That girl, she really is sometimes too perceptive for her own good. The Archon of Death and Decay thought, smiling somewhat with pride.
Having sensed you were disturbed in your sleep, she'd gotten up to painlessly decay the dream from your head. It was her way of helping you, knowing it was just Muramasa filling your head with things while you slept. She knew him really well.
She would talk to you in the morning. Only the comfort of a lover would help you more right now. She turned and left when she heard Venti calling her to come back to bed.

i wanted to share a few tips, tricks, and habits I've learned from Genshin that might make your life a little easier playing. they'll be most handy to early game players, but some of you might have gotten mid-late (per version 3.3) without learning all of these. I hope they help someone. there are a LOT so I grouped them into categories to make it a little easier to track.
Party Building:
some 4* are honest to god more valuable to your team than 5*. Even your starters. Kaeya works both as support and reaction factory if you don't want him as a dps, Amber is helpful for hunting and early game puzzles, and Lisa is actually amazing as a DPS on- or off-screen. you have every right to keep your Primogems to yourself until you feel like using them and to hell with what anyone on the servers says.
Noelle is, in fact, designed to be a DPS and not a shield support unit. her best artefacts aren't unlocked until Inazuma, but loading her up with Berserkers and Gladiators will help her until you can reach her full potential.
in the early game, build one or two DPS characters and make use of the free 5* gifts that are Barbara and Xiangling. building Kaeya and Xiangling with high energy recharge and putting them with Barbara means you will have a fairly consistent reaction factory going on around you, providing Freeze, Melt and Vaporize depending on which part makes first contact.
battery is an unofficial character role that you ought to try take advantage of. these characters generate extra energy particles that get your characters' bursts ready faster. using The Exile series on these characters is an easy early-game way to take advantage of this effect. some characters are known as 'flat batteries', so all off-screen characters gain the same amount of energy, while others are 'elemental batteries' where shared elements get a higher bonus and other elements have diminished returns. Raiden Shogun is the queen of flat batteries, but other good characters that you'll likely already have are Bennett, Sucrose, Diona, and even Kaeya if you're okay with the elemental deficit. here's an in depth breakdown of how energy works and a list of good batteries as of sept 2022, which was the most recent list I could find.
Things You Really Must Acquire:
head up to the end of Stormbearer Point and find the nun there. exhaust your dialogue trees with her and receive the Barbatos Ratatouille recipe. normal yield is a 20% stamina reduction for sprinting and gliding for 900 seconds. that's fifteen minutes of reduced stamina consumption. delicious yield gives a 25% reduction. if you happen to have Venti and he cooks it, he may make A Buoyant Breeze - the results are the same stamina reduction for thirty minutes. at this point it's purely a flex that you can do it, you will never need that much time!
solve the puzzle at Quinyun Peak and access the Luxurious Chest on the floating island. collect the recipe for Adeptus' Temptation. take the time to unlock auto cooking and use Xiangling to make it. normal yield is +316 ATK and +10% Crit Rate for 5min to all characters, delicious yield is +372 ATK and +12% Crit Rate for 5min. there is no character specialty version as of writing in 3.3.
after reaching adventure level 40, buy the recipe for Pile 'em Up from Sara at the Good Hunter. Xiangling is a good cook for it, but if you get a Diluc, immediately make the switch. normal boosts crit rate by 15% for 5min, delicious boosts it by 20%. Diluc's Once Upon a Time in Mondstadt will boost crit rate and crit damage by 20% for 5min. Cured Pork Dry Hotpot and Baklava both have the same crit rate increase, but do not have a character specialty as of writing in 3.3, so Pile 'em Up is still standing superior.
make sure to talk to Sister Victoria in the Favonius Church and exhaust your dialogue trees with her, because she will give you an artefact that you won't be able to try and farm until you're halfway through Liyue.
talk to everyone, honestly. there are good things to find everywhere. probably a number of which i haven't found because i gotta go fast.
collect all of the shinies. yes, the weapons and artefacts are usually grey or green. if i hadn't ignored them in the early game, i wouldn't be short on resources to level up my actually good artefacts, and now i can't find them all again and and have a very limited supply. don't be me wasting Mora on the artefact merchants.
Wishing:
i had to google the mechanics of pity, so if you also don't completely understand what the hell soft pity means, let me explain. every 90th wish without having a 5* result is guaranteed to be 5*. 'soft pity' refers to when you start getting an increased chance of a 5* at around 70 wishes. this is why the wish history is so valuable to you if you have limited primogems. if you have already received a standard 5* from the special character banner, your next 5* is guaranteed to be the banner character. effectively, from the last time you received a banner 5* character, every 180th wish is guaranteed to be the banner 5* unless you receive it sooner.
most of you shouldn't bother on the weapon banner if you don't plan to be a whale, because the pity system there only guarantees your course charted banner weapon after 270 wishes. you are more likely to end up with the other banner weapon than the one you actually selected at your 90th or 180th wish. the only mercy here is that reaching the banner weapon you didn't select doesn't reset you to 0 out of 270.
i haven't seen anyone actually compile or compare the costs of reaching full potential on a weapon or character, so i'm going to do that now. you need 5 of the same weapon to reach full rank up and unlock 100% of the weapon's stat boosting ability, and at 160 primogems a wish, we are talking about a potential of 216,000 primogems to guarantee that you reach full potential. since there is no work around with rank 5 being the most useful a weapon can be, as rank only increases the numeric value of their secondary effect, this shows just how expensive the weapon banner actually is if you want full use of a BIS. meanwhile, if you say C6 is the highest value a character can have, you need 6 copies. at your worst possible luck, 6 runs of 180 at 160 a pop makes 172,800 primogems if you really feel the need to hit C6.
regarding Constellations and value, most characters actually do not C6 to be most useful on your team. Constellations provide additional effects to abilities or boost the power of certain secondary effects in abilities, but rarely does anything past C4 cause a truly worthwhile improvement to the core abilities of a character.
and now jumping off of how useful Constellations are, some characters should never be C6'd. Bennett is the most famous example. his C6 Burst applies Pyro to every weapon your team may use until his Burst ends. this means you cannot apply other elements, and he may weaken the damage of non-Pyro DPS units like Eula. thankfully you have to manually apply the Constellation after you receive them in a wish, so always read the changes before you apply them, especially on the even numbers as they tend to have the larger changes.
already C6'd a character and got another copy, like my legendary C12 Heizou? you get enough Starglitter to buy a free wish. this is actually more than just money back, because that wish still counted to your pity. I am now realising that Heizou was, in fact, helping me to C1 my Murder Narwhal.
Resources:
every day, hop up to at least the Liyue General Store and get a full allowance of Wheat, Milk, and Rice. consider hitting a couple more stores for Milk specifically because you can refine it into Butter, Cream and Cheese. these will give you the widest variety of meals to make.
also regarding refining ingredients - don't bother with Bacon or Sausages. at least not until you learn Cold Cut Platter, More-and-More, and Rice Cake Soup. those are the only 3 recipes that require them, and you can make much better use of Raw Meat and Ham for the same or even better effect.
you can reach Sumeru early by going over the Chasm in Liyue. if you're okay with possibly messing with the very first quest in Ghardaville, I highly recommend passing through and unlocking most of the rainforest area of Sumeru (or you can use the quest navigator to keep away from the quest trigger). this area is insanely resource rich, especially for hunters. Rishboland Tigers, Spinokroks, and Sumpter Beasts all drop 3-4 pieces of Raw Meat when killed. Spinokroks are easy to find in any of the watery ravines throughout the area, while Rishboland Tigers prefer to hide where there's lots of trees to plan ambushes from. use your pins when you find a spawn location and you'll never have to worry about lacking meat again.
while in Inazuma, reach reputation level 3 to automatically gain a quest called the Art of Horticulture. this quest gives you the Seed Dispensary. while it's equipped, any time you harvest plants from the game, you'll also gain a Seed for that plant (some plants don't count, any rewards or crate loot won't count, and Whopperflowers are still Whopperflowers). you can store up to 20 of each seed. when in the Serenitea Pot, you can purchase places to plant these seeds, which may take up to 3 days to grow. effectively, this allows you to double your yield from picking plants. even using Nahida's skill will still yield seeds if the Dispensery is equipped, and some of the included plants are Small Lampgrass and Sea Ganoderma. go grow you some DPS units honey.
food buffs of the same category do not stack, nor does one number overrule a portion of the other's effect. I would know, I've been trying to pair Adeptus' Temptation and Once Upon a Time in Mondstadt for over a month now. the new one simply overrules the old one.
hold your fragile resin until you hit adventure level 45. the highest level domain runs guaruntee you at least one 5* resource.
for the love of Morax make yourself some Condensed Resin. i wish they would raise the limit on how much you can hold at a time. you get double yield from domains and Ley Lines when you use these.
if you're gathering crystalflies, this is the best method i've found; go to the Anemo Archon Statue in Windrise. select a tall male character to run around the tree very fast. this is best performed with a Sayu in the team if you have her, as her passive causes crystalflies to be slower to try and flee. other Archon statues, very large trees, and unique natural structures that relate to the Archon of the area (ex - caverns in Liyue, windy forests in Mondstadt) are all good crystalfly hunting areas, but I've found the tree in Windrise is best as the crystalflies are spread out and you can grab one without the other 3-4 immediately dipping.
tapping the sprint button is measurably superior to holding it. over the same distance, you will use less stamina and go much quicker.
if gathering fish is as frustrating for you as it is for me, I have two work arounds. the first is to go to the little ponds in front of Bubu Pharmacy, which will have 3 fish each and which you can mostly walk if you use a tall male character. the second is to make use of Lisa and unleash charged attacks on the water - any fish that swims into the electrified area will immediately turn into a fish fillet that you no longer have to chase. any Electro character works but so far Lisa is an easy win even on Yae. just be aware that it will take a while for the Electro to clear, and you can take damage swimming through that field.
need to mine harder ores like Crystal or Amythest, but no Geo or Claymore? I get it, they can be pretty slow to attack, you might not wanna get jumped while using them. find something to climb on and do a dive attack. I swapped Zhongli for Layla to take advantage of Cryo app shields while paired with Tartaglia and Keqing - she can mine an Amythest lump in 2-3 very short dives.

If your still accepting requests of these,
How would a relationship be with Venti and Wanderer (separate) with a Pisces reader?
Feel free to ignore this!!
this will be fun i already know it, im sorry but you picked the worst two characters to try and be in a relatonship but! WE WILL MAKE IT WORK!!!!
pisces and gemini
Tumblr media
okaayyy venti! he is a little gemini, whihc means he values freedom (i see what you did hoyo) he is very independant physically and emotionally. this can contrast a pisces who is known to be very dependant especially when inlove. in your eyes, venti is so special to you (post him everyday, with him everyday, basically just so obsessed), he's so important to you! your relationship is centered around adapting and giving the other something they lack. venti can bring fun and knowledge to your ideas and way of life, wherest you are an open minded lover who can bring the most out of him. (maybe try to convince him to stop his drinking problem)
butt, you guys have horrible communication. say venti was gone for some time (he follows the wind ofc) and you're upset about it! he'll simply shrug you off with a "ehe sorry lol" and go on about his day. it may give you the impression he don't care, but he does he just doesn't understand how it may affect you. he might not understand that his in a relationship, not some friendship where you guys kiss every now and then lol.
in the end, you guys are better off as friends, venti is just too all over the place for you and you might be too sensitive to give into it. if you can work on communication and understanding, it might work out
compatibilty: uhh 40 i don't have too high hopes for it tbh, but you'd make great friends!
pisces and capricorn
Tumblr media
onto scara! at first, your relationship would start slow. capricorns and pisces are known to very quiet people unless around ppl they're comfortable with (this may or may not apply to you who knows). you two would learn eachother slowly, which i think is pretty cute. you're first attracted to the strong and confident side of scara, the way he carries himself. scara will like how you treat him so differently from others, you might be softer to him. so you're lucky you're one of the people who doesn't get insulted by him every day. you two have mutual trust thats sweet and cute tbh. pisces are said to be adaptable, which is good for scara because he's very stuck in his ways, hopefully you're able to keep up with him. scaramouche teaches you to have more self esteem and be more confident, you teach him to be a little more softer. its honestly so adorable.
as every relationship, there is a bad side. pisces are known to be emotional, if this applies to you, you and scara are going to be in a bit of trouble because he does not handle emotions well. (proof: archon quest, proof: mommy issues, proof: abandonment issues.....) he's not going to be able to express himself all the time. you two gotta work on that a bit. oh, also, he's really controlling which might make you a bit worried in the relationship but he doesn't mean it in a bad way he's just concerned. once again, you two can work on that and it'll be okay
in the end, you two could have a nice relationship really! probably scaras best option. its a sweet tender love for both people who just needed a couple hugs yk (ik you do). you two need to work on those issues with the controlling and emotions. yet honestly, you can overcome those i believe it!
compatibility: 77

Rain Towards Dawn - The Third Day -

Part One | Part Two
Part Three | Part Four [Here]
Tumblr media
- The Third Day -
The So-Called-God dissunders the Uncrowned King’s enemies.
There was once a Traveler’s Song sung when Mondstadt fell into disarray.
It was not a song of warning nor of despair. The People came together and sang this Traveler’s Song to remind themselves that there was a light at the end of the tunnel. Hope on the horizon. There was the saying “the night is always darkest just before the dawn.” It worked like that, except the People sang this song and manifested the dawn to come regardless of the cruelties that came. The dawn. Everyone looked forward to the dawn, even those who craved the night. One could not rule over the other. The dawn would cut away the night and the night remind the day that it needed a turn. Such was the way of life.
Now, the Traveler’s Song was, at it’s core, a song of rebellion. The People sang this song when Decarabian ruled from his cold tower up until the Anemo-Archon-To-Be, Decarabian’s Beloved (and his Betrayer), a beloved bard and the first Ragnvindr decided enough was enough and scaled that tower to take Mondstadt back. Cheered on by the People, their wishes made manifest a better tomorrow. Even the weak and frail, the ones unable to do anything at the time ended up forsaking the restrictions on their bodies to shout for freedom. Everyone knows the story. It cannot be forgotten.
That Song was sung like this: If someone plucks out your tongue, you can still sing with your eyes. If someone blinds you in both eyes, you can still see with your ears. If someone conspires to destroy tomorrow, then raise them a glass. For even if tomorrow dies, this song shall live on. Mondstaters are beautifully stubborn, just like their Archon. They will scream and tear apart anyone who tries to disturb their freedom and peace, even if they do not have the hands to do so, even if they do not have the feet to stomp on their oppressors and even if they cannot see what they look like.
When the Aristocracy broke Mondstadt to it’s core, when the statue of the Anemo Archon was torn asunder along with the nation’s freedom, the Song was sung again with dangerous consequences should it be heard—nevertheless, it was sung and despite it being a whisper at times, the whisper reached the Anemo Archon’s ears who would once again witness the bravery of Mondstaters in taking back their freedom. Mondstadt became a monarch-free nation, but the Ordo was introduced to ensure peace. Yet, peace is not constant. It is not forever. The upkeep of the nation falls in part to the Anemo Archon and to the People. The Archon who works on the sidelines and the People who carry His will though they know it not.
When Venti thinks about “rebellion,” he thinks of how it has changed in recent time.
It seemed humans “rebelled” against the mundane, against things that did not warrant protest. It was a sorry sight to see and he often rolled his eyes at the ridiculous sight. It has almost lost all meaning. The humans of the present need to be reminded of the contributions of the humans of the past and what their rebellion represented. It was true beautiful rebellion. It was messy and chaotic and not at all perfect, but damn it, it was true rebellion and not this diluted bullshit he saw on the daily. I would be a happier God if the humans of today truly remembered what rebellion is. How it seeps into your skin and becomes your purpose when everything is taken away from you. It can bring life back to you, it can help you achieve miracles you have never known were to be possible.
Now, Venti looked at himself in a mirror, making sure his glamor was still intact and wondering if his presence here was an act of rebellion. Rebellion against those that wished to incite chaos and rebellion against one’s misguided views of him. Venti was an Archon that wanted his people to determine whether or not they wished to follow him of their own volition. He always followed this. Yet,he finds it shameful that he is going against his own principles, for he knows that it is not just his future sight that has him at Dawn Winery. No matter how much he tried to hide it to try to make it seem like he was unaffected, his heart hurt.
But I’ve nothing to prove, he tells himself. I’m just here to drive a knife through a Fatuus’ neck and be done with it. Then I shall go away and leave him be.
It sounds easy in theory but there is always a catch. He could not allow himself to be distracted. A plan must be executed flawlessly. Despite everything, one slip-up could cost Diluc his life and knowing how stubborn the man is, in true Mondstadter fashion, he could very well find a way to haunt Venti for the rest of his eternal life and that would be a punishment in itself. He finds a breakthrough in calming his thoughts as a Thread appears before him.
“Good morning, My Lord,” it speaks. “We are watching the Fatuus carefully and will keep you updated. We have acquired evidence which speaks of his plans. If… If you wish to forgo unneccesary violence for favor of a more peaceful outcome, you may alert the Ordo by presenting this evidence.”
He could do as such and knew the true intention of the little Thread. It did not like to see its master act with cruel intentions and was pleading through honeyed words to change his plan. For a moment, Venti wanted to. He saw the pleading eyes the Thread was giving him and felt guilt. He cups the little Thread into his hand and pokes its little belly, causing it to coo happily. He were always gentle with them. He would never hurt them.
“Little Thread,” he whispered. “I am sorry that I have to do this bad thing.”
Still the Thread nuzzled against his hand and Venti smiled.
“Alright. Go on now. Keep watching that man.”
With a small nod, the Thread disappears. Venti sighs, once again looking at himself. He didn’t blame the little Thread for being concerned about his actions yet his heart was set and rarely would he be convinced to steer it in another direction.
A knock at the door sounds which startles him. With one last look at himself, Venti turns to the door and opens it. To his surprise, it is Diluc who has chosen to greet him. There was no visible stress in his eyes. He had a pleasant look on his face, but it felt bittersweet.
“Oh, good morning, Sir Ragnvindr,” Venti faked a yawn. “I hope I did not sleep in too late?”
“Not at all. Actually, I’m just here to go over the basics with you and familiarize you with the running of the Winery. My head maid, Adelinde is doing the same for the other new employee.”
Venti felt unnerved by this knowing the true intentions of that man, but the Threads were watching him closely and would alert him should that man try anything.
Still, he smiled and bowed his head towards Diluc.
“It would be an honor to personally learn the workings of the Winery from the Master himself.”
Everything Diluc told Venti he already knew.
In fact, Diluc didn’t change a single thing about the operations of Dawn Winery save for things that would be outdated only because of the passing of time. He took his position seriously. There was a love for being the Master of Dawn Winery. It did not show on Diluc’s face, but I could see it. He carried on his father’s will, a man that was taken far too soon. He was intricate. He was precise. The man hated alcohol but you would never be able to tell because of the care he took into the operations of the Winery.
He showed me around. He told me of… everything that wasn’t private. The things that were common knowledge. I ate it all up as if I didn’t already know it. His voice was unlike no other. It was soothing, it could lull me to sleep and then I wondered what it would be like to hear his voice like that all of the time. What would it be like to be at his side, to hear his voice welcome me without any malice?
Would I ever be able to hear in his praise of me? Would he stroke my hair and whisper in my ear things the Sisters would deem blasphemous? I ache, I ache, I ache. Why must it be this way?
Despite everything, Venti keeps his composure. He doesn’t know how, but he does. He blocks his thoughts if only briefly and listens attentively. At the end, Venti is handed a paper detailing the event to transpire tonight.
“It’s a simple wine tasting event. I’ll need you to help me make sure everything flows smoothly. My brother would help me in this regard, but he’s on a business trip for the Ordo. My events rarely get roudy, so you need not worry. Just familiarize yourself with what we’re serving.”
“Easy enough,” Venti nodded. “Other than that, was there anything else?”
“Not at all. You can enjoy yourself until the time comes. We can discuss anything else if need be later.”
Short and to the point. Diluc excuses himself, allowing him to explore the rest of the Winery as he saw fit. This leaves him with the thoughts he did not want to confront. The love returned even though it never really left as he didn’t want it to. Would something come of it or would he be left to rid himself of these feelings of his own accord was the bigger question.
He couldn’t deal with it. He had much more important things to be concerned about. He walked around, pretending to familiarize himself with where everything was. He passes a door where two members of the Winery were speaking and listens in.
“Aww, it’s such a shame that Master Diluc couldn’t find that little bard. I would have loved to hear his lyre!”
“Yeah, how strange. He’s always at Angel’s Share, but he wasn’t to be found for the past two days.”
He was looking for me?
There was hope, after all.
The rest of the afternoon is spent setting up tables as well as placing the food best paired with the wines in their proper places. Cards detailing each wine was placed next to the bottles. The display was impeccable, bound to impress even the pickiest of people. As soon as the sun went down, Venti was welcoming guests inside the Winery.
Thus, the Wine Tasting Event Begins.
Venti gives off the aura of a proper employee of Dawn Winery, going around and offering the attendees various drinks. It is a surprise to see most of the Knights are present, considering Diluc’s adversity to them. He would find out through his keen hearing that it was just to keep up appearances—Diluc would much rather throw them out as soon as possible once the event was over than to have their presence sully the ground his father once walked on. He could see it in the man’s eyes and the way Adelinde tried to console him at times. Several Knights stopped him at times to ask for things and their mannerisms were so grotesque that Venti wanted to follow suit in kicking them out as soon as the event was over.
On the otherhand, he observed Nikon. The Fatuus in disguise was not being subtle with his blatant hatred. It was clear he wasn’t even coached on how to fake proper mannerisms and had to figure it out all on his own. Had he been an actual employee, he would have been given the boot immediately. To his blessing, he always “messed up” when Diluc’s eyes were turned. It wasn’t foolish of Diluc not to notice. No, not at all. Not one bit. This man even know when to “fuck up” when the Winery Master wasn’t looking—and the Knights were far too into themselves to care about his mannerisms.
What annoyed Venti above all else is that when their eyes locked, he glared. He kept his face stoic, but he couldn’t help the anger he had to suppress. Whether or not he knew that there was more to Venti that met the eye, he did not care. It wasn’t as if he could do anything about it and this charade was ready to meet an end when the midnight hours came. All Venti had to do is keep up his own façade and not cause any unnecessary eyes on his person. He trusted his beloved Threads to let him know of any sudden changes in the air.
So far, everything was fine.
Or it was, until Venti turned on his heel to see Diluc was in front of him.
“Master Ragnvindr?”
“You are not as subtle as you might think.”
Diluc touched his shoulders and forced him to turn around. He leaned in from behind, his breath tickling Venti’s ear. For the first time tonight, he was shaken and unable to get his heart rate in check. This was unlike him. He was so calm up until this second. For a moment I thought I was found out. I thought that everything would come crashing down and I would be forced to explain my intentions. Diluc is cunning. He runs the most elusive Intelligence Network in my nation. I have been to see him make the Fatui and Abyss Order his playthings. I wouldn’t have been surprised if he caught me.
“Tell me, Eurus, do you find that man to be suspicious?”
“N-Not… Not at all, what—what could you possibly…?”
“Shh,” Diluc tsked, chiding him. “There is no need to lie. You are in good company. I trust you know this?”
“Yes,” Venti breathed. “I know.”
“Then you do find him to be suspicious?”
“I do.” An admittal.
Diluc chuckled. Of all things, he chuckled and did not elaborate.
“You keep doing what you do, then.”
He walked away without another word and Venti sighed, wanting this to be over already. He gathered drinks and offered them to as many people who wanted them as he could while still being cautious. He wanted to ask himself how Diluc could have possibly known, how it could have reached this point where he slipped up, but he couldn’t think of anything other than his bias. It came back in full swing, stemming from earlier. The want makes him ache again. It threatens everything. As much as he would like to believe he didn’t have to prove anything, his heart and his mind became liars and Venti was forced into this position.
A Thread sneakily makes it’s way to Venti and sits upon his shoulder unconspicuously. He acknowledged it by gently petting it’s head.
“The situation?”
“My Lord, I am sorry for not warning you.”
“How could you have known, my dear Thread? The Winery Master is unpredictable.”
The Thread nodded.
“I come with news. Upon searching the Fatuus’ room, he is ordered by his superior to commit the deed and leave under the cover of night. Should there be any complications, there will be a group of Fatui hiding within the vicinity of Dawn Winery to stage a full-scaled attack.”
“Of course he’d have a trick or two up his sleeve. That is not a surprise. You and the other Threads present are to make sure that the staff of Dawn Winery are safe and not in harm’s way. One of you should be stationed in Master Diluc’s room, so that you can wake him from his slumber in the event I am not quick enough. He is strong and knows how to act quickly.”
“As you wish.”
The Thread disappears to avoid being noticed. The event was nearing it’s close and some attendees were leaving early, giving Diluc their thanks. Venti calmed himself by beginning to gather the dirty glasses to clean them. With his efforts, the main hall looked as if there were not a trace of people for the past couple of hours. There was something strange about it all, though. Diluc was nowhere to be found. Before he called upon a Thread to see to his whereabouts, Adelinde beat him to it.
“Thank you,” she kindly approached him. “Master Diluc has retired for the night. After this, you may do the same.”
Venti bowed his head and watched her turn away. He looked back at the table and picked up a polished silver knife.
He tucked it in his sleeve and walked away.
Now, all there was left to do is wait.
It would be foolish to sleep, so Venti does not do so. He quietly sits on the bed upright with the lights off and the curtains closed. He did not make a single sound. Anyone who walked by would naturally think he were asleep, which is exactly what he wanted. An hour passes. He begins to pace back and forth, grateful the wooden floor does not utter a sound. Several Threads surround him, the others doing as Venti instructed. As Venti was doing, the Fatuus was waiting until Diluc retired for the night to make his move. Any trained assassin would wait until their victim was in a deep sleep to commit the act. Anyone who has just fallen asleep has a higher chance of breaking out of that sleep due to any minor inconvenience. There were light sleepers, of course, but even they needed to rest. The point was that several hours had to pass before anything was to happen.
Several hours did pass. The sinking feeling comes back in full swing, making Venti shiver. It was time. The quickest way to intervene would to sneak up behind the Fatuus and attack. His body glowed for only a second before it became transparent. His feet rose from the ground by an inch and he glided through the locked door. Moving around whilst invisible came like second nature to him. He quickly flew through the walls, reaching the staircase and ascending to the second floor. Venti looked around quickly until he recognized the hallway from his vision.
The Fatuus with knife in hand sneaks through the halls of Dawn Winery.
What is different is that a God trails behind him. That God leaps forward and places his hand over his mouth, causing him to drop the knife and thrash about until he is able to push Venti backwards into a vase of Small Lamp Grass causing it to fall to the floor with a loud break of the glass. He places his arm across his neck, applying pressure. All Venti can do is laugh internally at that.
“I should have expected you to know something,” comes the hiss. “You can die alongside him.”
“The only one that will die is your pathetic self.”
Venti remembers the knife on his person and takes it out, stabbing the offending arm and raising his foot, kicking the Fatuus off of him. He hits the wall violently. Venti is prepared to take another leap, but the noise was loud. It was too loud and thus as expected, Diluc awoke and opened his door, cautious and ready to attack in his own regard. It was strangely comical. Imagine being the Master of Dawn Winery, you hire temporary help for an event only to see that temporary help at each other’s throats in the dead of the night right in front of your door. He could only look baffled and wonder what in Barbatos’ name was going on.
“He is trying to kill you,” Venti hissed to Diluc. “It would be rather anticlimactic to die to this man instead of that Fatui Harbinger that was after your ass at Stone Gate, wouldn’t it?”
Diluc looked at him, eyes wide. “Wha—"
At the mention of ‘Fatui’, the man runs and Venti gives chase through the hallway, not bothering to see if Diluc would catch up. He had to end it now before anyone else awoken. He dodges feeble attempts to make him trip up, from the various ornaments thrown towards him to small end tables toppled over. On the first floor once more, past the grand dining area, Venti uses Anemo to make the cutlery on the table rise, aiming them as projectiles.
“What’s the matter?” he taunted. “You were so high and mighty a couple of minutes ago. You were so adamant on completing your task and now you’re running away?”
“Who the hell are you?!”
The projectiles succeed in slowing him down, each one drawing blood in various places. His face and arms yielded several cuts, some even still drawing blood. He makes his way outside of the Winery walking backwards with anger and hatred on his face, with Venti walking slowly in pursuit. By now, his worry diminished. Instead, ferocity overtook him. The second part to this whole debacle was well on its way. The man’s true nature was revealed then—A Fatui Skirmisher with the Delusion of Pyro. A device is revealed in his hands and a button is pressed.
“You should know that I have more tricks up my sleeve!”
Venti’s eyes glow, he rises from the ground and extends his hands outward, and across the whole Dawn Winery, a shield of Anemo similar to the ones he’s used to ward off humans from Old Mondstadt appears right before multiple Elemental bullets from the Fatuus’ reinforcements could cause harm to the building and endanger anyone. Those reinforcements gather and surround him, ready for the attack.
Venti descends and shrugs as if this was a common occurrence.
“Well, I hope it wasn’t that.”
“That’s impossible. How could you have known. You… You are no ordinary human. You cannot be. Who are you? Answer me!”
At this time, against Venti’s wishes, the whole Winery was awakened to this sight.
Diluc fought against the barrier once he pieced together everything. The appearance of the Fatui and the man that made his way into the Winery to… protect him, now surrounded by multiple adversaries.
“Let me help you! “ He yelled out. “Those Fatui will kill you!”
Venti rolled his eyes. Sweet, but terribly misguided.
“No, you stay put.”
A warning shot was fired. Venti turned his head back and crossed his arms mockingly.
“Who. Are. You?”
Something comes over Venti. Having been asked his identity three times, he finds himself not knowing how to respond. Between the identities he’s donned over the years—even the one now, he doesn’t know how to respond. He was always in control of his identities. He remembered each and every one and could bring them back to life if he so wished yet the feeling of doing that left a sour taste in his mouth. Who am I, truly? Am I the one that took on my beloved friend’s memory to honor his life? The unparalleled best bard of Mondstadt? Am I the identities that I’ve created for myself to try to live as human? All of these things I have done, but they do not feel like me no matter how much care I put into each life. They have never felt like me, if I were honest.
The faux Vision glows on Venti’s leg. It transforms into his lyre which floats in front of him. He extends his hand and rather than it transforming into his bow as it normally would, it becomes a sword glowing with his power, lighting up the night sky. His eyes and his hair follow suit and the winds come to him, blowing chaotically around him. He takes the sword in his hand, pointing it towards the Fatui. It is then he cannot stop his words. All of his attempts to remain hidden would end on his own terms. If he had to accept this end, accept that he could no longer hide behind multiple persona, it would be by his own hand.
“Bow your head, mortal,” he spoke, strangely soft. “You forgot yourself, before the Lord of Wind and Freedom.”
There was no need for any theatrics. He didn’t even have to shed his disguise. His aura alone was Testament to his word being true. Barbatos waited for no response. He made quick work of the additional Fatui, restricting their breathing until they fell on the grass one by one, never to awaken again. To him, that was merciful.
The last one, the one who started this, he walked towards slowly.
“Do you know what I hate?” Barbatos asked. “It’s this… excessive play at being more than what was ordained for you. Would you have not wanted to live a comfortable life as all these other humans do? What tragic lives you lead, only to throw it away by becoming lesser than yourself. You came here to force my hand. Could you not impress me by not acting like a weakling in your final moments?”
“Please don’t—”
He silences him the way he has wanted to do for the past two days, he raises his sword and drives it directly through the Fatuus’ neck. The choking sound is horrific. The agony the Fatuus feels in his final moments only ends with a twist of the blade and Barbatos pulling it out, dropping it to the ground. It disappears immediately, turning back into the faux Anemo Vision. The Archon’s face and clothes are sullied with the blood of the criminal, but he makes no notion to wipe it off. In fact, Barbatos turned around, breaking the barrier around the Winery.
He approached Diluc and leaned against him as if he were the one injured and looked up in a play of innocence, like he did not just do what he did.
“Is there wine?”
“Yes, Barbatos,” Diluc replied calmly. “There is always wine.”

Ch.8: Abyss Mage, Hurdle, Empty Abode, and Light Guiding Ceremony
Tumblr media
I'm a just continue with the Mondstat Arc since I put a poll but since I have a lot on my plate in my life I'm not gonna continue actually updating the story since I don't know what other things that will come up, yeah sorry
Tumblr media
After time passed since what occurred at Starsnatch Cliff, everyone met up at the Dawn Winery to talk to Diluc to see what information he has gotten

Diluc: The Abyss Order... Enemies of the human race. Even the underground networks rarely come across any information on them. With that said, it was a bit of a hassle, but I managed to dig up a few clues.
Venti: Really? That quickly? You really are well connected, Master Diluc.
Paimon: Come to think of it, Mr. Big Anemo God Barbatos — why exactly do you need the help of mere humans...?
Venti: Ahh... How do I put it... "The Seven" as people now know them, were once known as "The Seven Archons." Each archon presides over their own part of Teyvat. That is the role the archons play. Only in performing this duty can we attain power, but I don't like the idea of "ruling" Mondstadt — and I don't feel Mondstadt would really like it either.
Y/n: Basically, the people's faith twords their archon, gives their archon the power and strength that you know from history
Jean: "Go forth and establish a city of freedom without rule." We have not forgotten Barbatos' wish for Mondstadt.
Paimon: Jean... You're such a devotee! Maybe someone got a little too free and is just too lazy to care...
Y/n: Did your pea sized brain not understand Emergency food? *pouting*
Paimon: *stamers*
Venti: Ahh... However, it may have come to be... I haven't been back to Mondstadt for an extended period of time. Without a doubt, I am now the weakest archon among The Seven!
Aether: And yet you sound almost proud... Guess that's why you're god to the City of Freedom...
Venti: Aww, you flatter me.
Diluc: Oh, such a humble god... Is it a blessing or a curse?
Y/n: I think it's a blessing. Why would you think it's a curse?
Diluc: Let's get back to the topic at hand: the common enemy of all mankind. We have tracked the Abyss Mage to the vicinity of the winery.
Jean: I can not stress enough how important it is to not let it escape.
Aether: Let's hunt it down!

Y/n: "I didn't like the fact that it was a Hydro Abyss Mage...."
Venti: Huh? What's this... After the Abyss Mage was defeated, a certain energy dispersed from its body... It seems that energy was being used to cut off the connection between me and Dvalin... Aether, do you know of Stormterror's Lair?
Aether: I think I've heard people talking about it in Mondstadt.
Venti: Of course. I believe the people of Mondstadt all know of it. After Dvalin woke up, he took the ancient ruins as his lair. As it was with the storms that previously cut Mondstadt off from the outside world, the entrance to the ruins is also sealed by a special barrier. But now, as the energy dispersed from the Abyss Mage, I was able to read the rhythmic flow of how the barrier's magic was woven. I must admit, it sounds even more horrendous than a chorus of hilichurls, but......It should be enough to let us break through the storm barrier and reach Stormterror's Lair.
Diluc: Which means we're going to confront Dvalin? I'm fine with that... Jean is the one who wishes to avoid any direct confrontation.
Jean: No. When there are no other options left, it is my responsibility to alter our course of action. If slaying him is our only choice, I will gladly become the knight that leads the charge.
Y/n: Fortunately, we have yet to need to go that far.
Diluc: Hmm?
Jean: By that, you mean...
Venti: She means that the Holy Lyre is not our trump card. Our real trump card? Aether, of course.
Paimon: Aether?
Aether: Is it because I purified the Teardrop Crystal?
Venti: Agreed. But you have a much more precious forte. The impurities in the tears and the curse that binds Dvalin belong to the same maleficent power. Which means...
Paimon: You Tone-Deaf Bard, don't you see how crazy this is? You've seen what Dvalin is like when he's ticked off! Aether will be swallowed whole before he even gets to lift a finger!
Diluc: ...Hey. Nice plan. It's worth a shot.
Jean: I am with you both, Honorary Knights!
Paimon: Ho~! So we just need to fight monsters from the abyss... and a dragon! No pressure or anything.
Diluc: Humans aren't without their strengths. Let's go.
Venti: And so... The epic actions of brave heroes finally leads to this eleventh hour.

Paimon: It's a storm barrier! It looks so dangerous...
Venti: Let me at it. Although this wooden lyre is all I have... I don't need the lyre to break through this kind of storm barri— Ah, wait, what is that?
A group of hilichurls appears
Jean: Enemy attack! Prepare yourselves!
Venti: The stage will need to be cleared before I can begin my performance. Generally speaking, such chores are not the concerns of the performer himself...
Jean: Wait. What's going on? Something's not right. There shouldn't be any hilichurl camps in the vicinity of Stormterror's Lair...

Before anyone could land a hit, Y/n: threw multiple bubbles at the Hilichurls, causing them to struggle breathing and moving while at the same time summoning a huge wave that immediately engulfed the Hilichurls instantly killing them

Y/n: Done!!!
Everyone else: ......"How the..."
Venti: Ahh... The hilichurls usually do not venture into areas with high elemental concentrations. It puts a heavy burden on their bodies.
Diluc: The Abyss Order must be manipulating them behind the scenes, yet they shouldn't have been able to determine that we would come. They're presumably spreading their forces to halt our plans.
Venti: Without further ado... I suppose I can play faster if my only audience is the wind.
Venti disperses the wind barrier by playing the lyre
Paimon: It actually opened! You're not entirely useless, Tone-Deaf Bard!
Jean: This is it. We are now entering Stormterror's Lair. Watch yourselves. Let's move.

Venti: It's stuck.
Paimon: Hey, check out that roof. Is there a giant hole in it?
Venti: Hmm... I suppose we could make use of that wind current.
Paimon: Let's make a detour then. Heading up!
Venti: Let's make a detour then. Heading up!
Paimon: Hmm... Do you think there will be Abyss Mages hiding in the ruins? Either way, if we do run into one, we will let the victorious Master Diluc do the—
Diluc: Do not underestimate them just because I have beaten one of them before. I'm not boasting. I'm simply saying there is more to the Abyss Order than a few mages.
Venti: Correct. That's why I tagged along, after all. Well, that — and also for your safety.
Aether: Why are you so diligent?
Venti: Ah, why am I so diligent? Too diligent for a poet, in fact!
Paimon: So says the person that made zero effort to search for the dragon tears and drank in the tavern all day! Paimon doesn't get it. What part of you is remotely diligent?
Y/n: Says the floating emergency food that wines all the time
Paimon: Hey!!!!

Venti: Oh, we can't advance any further. The ruins seem to be guarded by ancient seals.
Paimon: Is this the work of Dvalin?
Venti: No. These ruins were once part of an ancient city. Dvalin just happens to be nesting in these ruins for now. These ruins even predate the existence of The Four Winds. Mondstadt is a city without a ruler. However, before it was... It was ruled over by a tyrant. Anyway... I'll sing you that story when we have a chance in the future.
Diluc: The markings on this seal... If my archaeological knowledge is not mistaken, this appears to be a light actuator. If we retrieve and reintegrate all the parts, we should be able to get it working.
Jean: We should be close to completing the ceremony for this actuator. Let's put the last part back and see.

After activating the actuator, a seal of the tower was taken off

Venti: Looks like we're right. There are three more halos circling the tower...
Jean: Which means there are three more corresponding light actuators to activate. I can see one from here. The rest must be scattered within the ruins around here. Let's go find them.
Paimon: ...Why did Dvalin pick a place filled with puzzles and seals as his lair? Doesn't he get annoyed coming back home?
Venti: He doesn't walk in. He flies in.
Paimon: ...You do have a point.

The rest of the activators were soon activated, the three remaining halos soon disappeared, unlocking the tower completely

Had a brainrot so here we go.
🌸Inspired by albedo’s event at the whopper flowery fuckery that transpires🌸
warnings// mentions of torture, death, blood, injury, self doubt, self loathing, general angst. Religious themes, SAGAU ANGST. Might of missed something, in which case, please let me know. It is not my intention to trigger anyone and I would feel horrible in the event I do.
Author note: lol I did not read this through well so formatting might be shit but what ever it’s late I’ll look at it later . No proofread so oof!
Actual Imposter AU but it’s a WhopperFlower
When it was revealed that you were the actual Divine God of Teyvat, the imposter who had the throne was revealed to be nothing more than a whopperflower.
It hurt their ego’s obviously. Pretty badly.
Not all of this world's past gods worshipped the Divine One. Conquest, desire for power. To be better. To prove themselves as beyond the one this world was made for. So when a whopperflower absorbed several different gods' ambitions, it made sense for it to pose as the Divine One to begin with.
Lies, lies lies.
That's what the acolytes said as they sobbed and begged for forgiveness, and how they worshipped such a traitor, such an imposter.
They never performed miracles because why would they waste their time on such foolish beings.
They never proved themselves with their supposed golden blood, as it was an insult to do such.
They were never kind to them, why would a being as high as they care?
Their punishments were harsh, even if you were to breathe a little too loudly.
None of their apologies ever reached the false gods' ears.
Atone for their mistakes with fine luxuries. Not a wrinkle in the fine garments or you may as well lose a finger, if not your life.
For this world was theirs, it was their choice on how to treat it's inhabitants. And cruelty was the way they had dictated.
The shock they must have felt when a hunt for an imposter was called by the false god. Of course they would be the first to know, they were made from the ambitions of old gods and origins of a whopperflower.
The other creatures swarmed to the True God. To bask in their presence. Which was kind, gentle.
Soft and loving.
Warm and safe.
Nothing like how the False One ruled.
“Bring them to me.” Is all the false one said as they stormed away, maids and passerbys weretrembling in their rage, praying that such rage would not be directed towards them.
ALl that could go through the loyal acolytes minds were, one, who would be stupid enough to do that, and two, if they were to bring them the imposter, would they perhaps gain their supposed gods favor? At minimum, recognition? Some sort of shield from their anger? A get-out-of-jail free card, if asked to be an outlet for their anger?
When they found you,it was as if the world stopped. Maybe it really did, Teyvat doing all it could to make it known that you were the true god, the true intended recipient of the gift that Teyvat was.
The warmth they felt so much as looking at you was nearly unbearable. SUch a stark difference from the one they had been worshipping. And when you looked at them, with true joy in your eyes, they couldn't help but crack, bend, and break.
They were fooled, they lied too. They were taken advantage of. They had hurt, bled, starved under the dictatorship of an overgrown houseplant.
🌸///🌸
Venti fell to the ground and sobbed and sobbed when he saw Cecilia's bloom beneath the ground as you walked. Nothing like the False God he had been worshipping, the grass nearly leaning away from their steps. Nothing like you, where the plants reached and nearly begged to be in your presence, which you reciprocated kindly, soft kisses amongst flowers that bloom and grow to reach your face, even more so when a soft chuckle leaves your pretty lips.
He waited to be kicked, hit, as he crouched onto the ground, desperately trying to hide his tears. He waited to be knocked away like La Signora did to him when he lost his gnosis, back when the Traveller still searched Teyvat for their sibling. To be near tortured by the False God for his voice cracking as he played his lyre at their call.
He deserved to be hit is all he could think, after all, he was such a fool as to worship blindly. So when you cupped his face with concern, and to ask him if he was alright, to ask him what was wrong, what you could do to help, he could only sob more, near torturous when you began hugging him, encompassing him in your warmth. He would have never received such actions from the false one. Nothing even close from anyone really. His hands nearly bled and he gripped into your clothing, tears rolling and staining the cloth.
He would have received punishment for soiling such clothing if he was doing so with the False One. But instead of doing so, or even being disgusted, you used your own clothing as a means to wipe away his tears, offering yourself as a means to comfort him. Him, who had been nothing more than a lowly wind spirit. And you, a Divine God, who has seen, created, and travelled, who has comprehended more than he ever would. More than he would ever hope to, being the equivalent of his Kleenex tissue.
He loathed himself for being so weak within your presence.
🌸///🌸
Zhongli had worshipped the Divine One for thousands of years. Guizhong taught and guided him, not just in the strategy of war, but in you, and your presence, your work. How Teyvat was created by a group of lesser gods, to earn your favor. For beings even stronger then him to create the whole of Teyvat for you, oh, you must be something wonderful. Something beautiful. Something beyond he could ever comprehend, ever understand.
So when the supposed Divine One showed up in nothing more than rags, he was furious to say the least. He felt something strange when meeting them. How insulting it was to ask them questions, was what the supposed god said. Teyvat was made for them and they were not given a warm welcome! They had arrived in shambles, in rags! They should destroy Teyvat for doing such a thing!
He should have listened to that strange beckoning, that maybe, just maybe, the person he had knelt before wasn't actually the divine one. Maybe if he hadn’t pushed away his draconic instincts he would have seen the truth of the one sitting amongst luxuries the people of Liyue, the Tianquan, and all of Teyvat offered them. Perhaps he would have realized that he, the ex-archon of Liyue, was being taken advantage of. There were so many red flags he missed, or ignored, looking back.
How none of the adepti cared, who only approached once, gave their regards, and left. He should have looked more into the scowls upon his old companions faces. He should have thought more on how the earth almost sickened whenever they were outside.
Even dogs barked at them, birds all but left the area whenever the self-proclaimed god was about.
He was a dragon! He was ancient! He should have known! Did not Guizhong tell him of the possibilities of such deceits in the past?
You, Zhongli, Ninguang, Ganyu, Keqing, and a few others were all in a meeting discussing things. You were so humble, so gracious, during this whole thing. He couldn't help but realise that being next to you felt right. It was in his very soul, the knowledge that you were in fact Teyvats Divine God. The fact that you denied your status of God almost made him angry. Mostly at himself. The false god had sentenced anyone who even questioned them to death immediately.
And now here you were, shaking your head and smiling, a bit confused, but happy to be there regardless. The way Teyvat reacted to you was proof of your divinity.
When Ganyu tripped and tea split everywhere with shattered glass, your kindness in helping her was proof of your divinity. If this had happened with the False one, Ganyu would have been punished severely for so much as spilling.
The way that you picked up the glass, helped with the cleaning was proof of your divinity. The way the glass pricked your finger slightly, golden blood appearing, was proof of your divinity. Even in your confusion of the entire situation, it was all proof.
You could breathe and it would be proof. Sneeze and it would be proof. All of Teyvat spoke, bearing witness to your status as its god.
Ninguang and the others apologized once more for their foolishness, which you all but said was alright. Whopper Flowers were convincing fellows after all, even when not fueled by ancient gods' ambitions.
(Too many times had you been ambushed by Whopperflowers when you thought it was just a nice group of sweet flowers when you played Genshin)
Ganyu apologises for spilling the tea. Hutao, who was also there, apologises for not recognizing the spirits distaste for the one they used to worship. Keqing just apologises for the general situation. Ninguang apologizes for foolishly leading Liyue and its resources into spending effort on what she so elegantly called a pestering weed.
Soon they left after you assured them it was alright, them obviously leaving you with Zhongli.
You asked him if they knew that he was Rex Lapis as soon as they left. If he had any doubts before, they were all gone now. The False One didn’t even know he had been Rex Lapis. Yet you did. He quietly walked over to you, waiting for your permission to touch your hand, before kissing it in utter devotion. He would do better. He was no longer Rex Lapis, but he was still a dragon. He was still Morax. And as Morax, he will make sure to take care of you. To keep you safe. To prove to himself, to prove to Guizhong, to prove to you, that he was worthy of being in your presence, worthy of worshipping you, after such utter foolishness.
🌸///🌸
Ei had been working herself ragged ever since the supposed Divine One entered Teyvat, and visited Inazuma. She was ashamed of herself and her nation, being scolded at how dangerous the lands were!
And they were right, of course. She had been so focused on keeping eternity for inazuma, that she didn't herself see to its threats. Which made her think. Was it really Inazuma she seeked eternity for, or was it herself? Did she fear to fade with time like her sister? Outside of the streets it was dangerous to so much as leave the city. The storms that ravaged around Inazuma, the monsters that spread across it.
When the False God visited Inazuma, they were attacked by said monsters. They were nearly injured. She had leapt to their side to fight off the attack, and of course she won, but after the reveal that they were in fact just a power hungry whopperflower, she couldn't help but regret doing so. She should have let that weed be torn to pieces.
Maybe if she didn’t act, then Inazuma wouldn't of been shamed publicly by the False God. It was a disgusting land, they said. Dangerous, unkept. The Archon who ruled over it had been a lazy fool who did not care for its people.
The words hit her face, and she crumbled as they left, leaving her kneeling. After they left and her nation was shamed, many things changed.
She no longer locked herself in her plane of euthymia all the time. She often went about, slaying threats and enemies within her nation. She created another puppet, much like the Shogun, to look after things when she was away fighting.
During this time, purging her land of threats, where she really could think. This had happened before, back when the traveller was still in Teyvat. Had she yet again neglected her duties as an Archon? The Supposed God had shamed Teyvat. People were ashamed to say they were Inazuman. Ashamed of the nation she was supposed to have risen to glory. She was utterly ashamed. And this shame drove her to personally see to threats, no matter the size. General Kujou Sara was almost out of a job at one point.
The thunder of Inazuma roared when it was revealed the god she had been working herself so hard for was the equivalent of a greedy Walmart houseplant. And the rumors that the real god was kind, was sweet? She was an idiot, idiot, idiot. Her sister would be ashamed of her, surely.
Yae Miko said that there were things to be learnt from this, however. Ei remembered back to when she first met the False God. Yae was there, behind them, with a frown on their face. Ei should have trusted Yae Miko, her dear familiar, her friend, when she said something felt wrong. Not even trust, maybe at least consider at the minimum. Idiotic. That's what she was.
Idiot, idiot, idiot.
When word came out that the real Divine One was visiting Inazuma, she was running around like a headless chicken. She would die before anything bad happened whilst they visited her lands. She could not even provide a safe area for a sentient flower!
She made sure that your arrival was safe, a means to restore honor to her land. Not that much honor is lost when an imposter shames you, but still. Your smile made the weight on her shoulders ease. Your excitement to see the different islands, the tenshaku, the foxes, and more. She frowned when you expressed excitement to see the different, dangerous, creatures of Inazuma. Had she not spent so much time clearing them out for your safety?
Later, during the night, when you were nowhere to be found, she panicked. When she found you, sitting amongst rifthounds dangerously close to her city, she was ready to pull out her booba sword and strike them all down for you.
But you were laughing, happy. And the creatures were as well. Even the dangerous creatures of Teyvat bended to your whim, eagerly, happily. You had spotted her and excitedly brought her over to play with them. The creatures of Inazuma were dangerous, sure, but with you they were nothing more then pets.
Sure, her lands have been dangerous, filled with terrifying creatures, and sure, she had cleared out quite a bit of them, but seeing your joy at seeing Inazumans creatures made her shrivel a bit.
Sure, her clearing the lands of many threats made it safer for her people, that was not a waste. But being fooled by the False One? That was a waste. Her idiocy, her revolve, that was a waste. All of Teyvat worshipping a greedy flower was a waste. Shedding tears over cruel words from someone who meant nothing. That was a waste.
She will make sure she isn't a waste of time for you though, she will lay her life down before her next actions are ever a waste again.

Tumblr media
ALBEDO would be fascinated, I tell you. He’s an alchemist and an artist of course he’s the type to get curious and also allured at the sight of beauty in front of him. You’d probably even catch him staring because he opts to stand there at the doorway, mesmerized. And when you scold him for a bit, he’d just smile and say “I apologize, although you’re so beautiful I can’t help but admire a lovely sight.” the sly lil-
CHILDE is shameless. He’d literally let his eyes roam around before making his presence known, knocking on the door while placing a hand over his eyes, pretending like he didn’t see anything right after coming into the room. “Childe?” “Hey you shouldn’t have your doors unlocked when you’re changing clothes. Who knows who will suddenly come and enter? Good thing it’s just me.”
DILUC is the respectable man who immediately turns his back but his face is probably the same shade of his hair. If you caught up with the situation and tease him with a “Oh Diluc I didn’t know you’re here,” he’d probably freeze up because damn you just caught him. Even if he didn’t actually see anything he feels really guilty uhm why is he even embarrassed he probably saw everything already
KAEYA has no shame part 2. Even has the audacity to say “Oh? Right here, right now, babe?” but when you scold him, he’d laugh it off with “Just kidding, just kidding.” before casually walking out, leaving you flustered and embarrassed. He’d probably tease the situation to you for the rest of the day—if he’s feeling it, maybe even for a week.
KAZUHA is the first one who looks away but can still see you in his peripheral vision. Although, he does squeak a tiny “Oomph-sorry” that alerts you of his arrival. “Kazuha? Do you need something?” “Ah, it’s nothing—not that important. I just wanted to… visit you but—I can just come back if you want.” Probably the most flustered out of everyone else except xiao. Even if he tries to compose himself or he may not seem that flustered, his heart is beating so loud that he may just burst out the door without waiting for your response.
SCARAMOUCHE stops in his tracks and—wait, the right word is “freezes” on the spot. That’s only for awhile, maybe a few seconds. You wouldn’t even realize that he was there until he grunted and you could hear his footsteps closing in. As you try to cover yourself in surprise, he’d lean into your ear from behind you and he’d make sure that you’d tingle when his breath touches your skin. When he sees your hair stand, he’d smirk and whisper, “What are you thinking, undressing yourself without making sure you secured the place? Are you perhaps waiting for anyone to enter? Or… are you waiting for me?” don’t feel entitled bruh
VENTI is probably the loudest one. He loudly gasps but he won’t turn around no no no. He’s gonna skip to you and he’s giddier than usual. “Where are you going, Y/n? Can I come, can I come? Hey, hey, I want to come with you!” he’s going to be super clingy the whole day. It's insane.
You wouldn’t even realize XIAO stepped in the room lmao. You’d just notice that he was avoiding you the whole day and if you tried to talk to him his eyes would literally look anywhere other than you. You’d have to ask him what’s wrong before he does tell it to you. Well, you’re lucky if he’s honest but he might not even say it to you until you find out about it next week or even next month.
ZHONGLI looks away and clears his throat. But then he’d realize that maybe he should turn around so he does. “Forgive me, I didn’t know you were changing your clothes. I’d come back later if you want to.” but of course if you refuse he’ll stay:)
