REMINDER:
i do not think many people ponder much over this issue so i thought i should speak a bit about it because it may comfort you just as it has comforted me.
we are taught to make du'aa and supplicate for all of the ummah and i am sure most of us abide by the deed to the best of our ability.
however, my mother had something to add to this which made me humbler and more forgiving, which did not cross my mind (perhaps it may have crossed yours).
she says that when we pray for the whole ummah at large, it also includes people who we have not been on good terms with.
muslims who have hurt you, mocked you, insulted you. muslims who have troubled you and have caused you to cry for hours to Allāh. muslims who had abandoned you in your times of need and had neglected you. muslims who had taken undue advantage of you and used you for their selfish desires. muslims who had been an awful influence on you and who were terrible friends. muslims who are toxic relatives. muslims who had inflicted you with great misery and sorrow. muslims who had disrespected, dishonoured and devalued you. muslims who had caused you to incline towards sins; minor and major. muslims who had used your weaknesses against you. muslims who disregarded your boundaries, abused you, tormented you. muslims who had not asked for your forgiveness and muslims who begged you for another chance.
while praying for the whole ummah at large, none of us are distracted by our individual pains. we are more focused over the fact that all of us are suffering, all of us are humans, all of us are capable of sinning and all of us have an equal chance of being thrown into the hellfire.
it is wholesome truly, that for the sake of Allāh, to seek His pleasure, we make du'aa for even those who perhaps may have hurt us beyond our capability to forgive.
Narrated Anas:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "None of you will have faith till he wishes for his (Muslim) brother what he likes for himself."
Sahih al-Bukhari 13, Book 2, Hadith 6
‘Ubadah ibn al-Samit reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever seeks forgiveness for the believing men and women, Allah will record a good deed for him by each man and woman.”
Source: Musnad al-Shāmīyīn 2118
Grade: Jayyid (very good) according to Al-Haythami
May Allāh aid us in becoming better muslims, more forgiving and bearing, and may He help us in being good to one another, Aameen.

Whoever suffered an affliction and he knew that it occurred by Allah's judgement and decree, and he patiently abides, awaiting Allah's reward, then Allah guides his heart, and will compensate him for his loss in this life by granting guidance to his heart and certainty in faith. Allah will replace whatever he lost for Him with the same or what is better.
Ali bin Abi Talhah reported from Ibn `Abbas,
(and whosoever believes in Allah, He guides his heart).
"Allah will guide his heart to certainty. Therefore, he will know that what reached him would not have missed him and what has missed him would not have reached him."
There is an agreed upon Hadith that Al-Bukhari and Muslim collected and which states,
Amazing is the believer:
There is no decree that Allah writes for him, but is better for him. - If an affliction strikes him, he is patient and this is better for him.
- If a bounty is granted to him, he is thankful and this is better for him. This trait is only for the faithful believer.

Tafsir Ibn Kathir: Surah Al-A’raf Ayah 42-43
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
7:42 But those who believed, and worked righteousness -- We burden not any person beyond his scope -- such are the dwellers of Paradise. They will abide therein.
7:43 And We shall remove from their breasts any Ghill; rivers flowing under them, and they will say:
"All the praises and thanks be to Allah, Who has guided us to this, and never could we have found guidance, were it not that Allah had guided us! Indeed, the Messengers of our Lord did come with the truth.''
And it will be cried out to them: "This is the Paradise which you have inherited for what you used to do.''
Destination of Righteous Believers
After Allah mentioned the condition of the miserable ones, He then mentioned the condition of the happy ones, saying,
But those who believed, and worked righteousness,
Their hearts have believed and they performed good deeds with their limbs and senses, as compared to those who disbelieved in the Ayat of Allah and were arrogant with them.
Allah also said that embracing faith and implementing it are easy, when He said,
But those who believed, and worked righteousness -- We burden not any person beyond his scope -- such are the dwellers of Paradise. They will abide therein. And We shall remove from their breasts any Ghill;
meaning, envy and hatred.
Al-Bukhari recorded that Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri said that the Messenger of Allah said,
After the believers are saved from entering the Fire, they will be kept in wait by a bridge between Paradise and Hellfire. Then, transgression that occurred between them in the life of this world will be judged. Until, when they are purified and cleansed, they will be given permission to enter Paradise. By He in Whose Hand is my soul! One of them will be able to find his dwelling in Paradise more so than he did in the life of this world.
And We shall remove from their breasts any Ghill; rivers flowing under them,
As-Suddi said,
"When the people of Paradise are taken to it, they will find a tree close to its door, and two springs from under the trunk of that tree. They will drink from one of them, and all hatred will be removed from their hearts, for it is the cleansing drink. They will take a bath in the other, and the brightness of delight will radiate from their faces. Ever after, they will never have messy hair or become dirty.''
An-Nasa'i and Ibn Marduwyah (this being his wording) recorded that Abu Hurayrah said that the Messenger of Allah said,
Each of the people of Paradise will see his seat in the Fire and he will say, `Had not Allah guided me! And this will cause him to be grateful. Each of the people of the Fire will see his seat in Paradise, and he will say, `Might that Allah had guided me!' So it will be a cause of anguish for him.
and they will say:
"All the praises and thanks be to Allah, Who has guided us to this, and never could we have found guidance, were it not that Allah had guided us! Indeed, the Messengers of our
Lord did come with the truth.''
This is why when the believers are awarded seats in Paradise that belonged to the people of the Fire, they will be told,
And it will be cried out to them: "This is the Paradise which you have inherited for what you used to do.''
This means, because of your good deeds, you earned Allah's mercy and thus entered Paradise and took your designated dwellings in it, comparable to your deeds.
This is the proper meaning here, for it is recorded in the Two Sahihs that the Prophet said,
And know that the good deeds of one of you will not admit him into Paradise.
They said, "Not even you, O Allah's Messenger!'' He said,
Not even I, unless Allah grants it to me out of His mercy and favor.

Guide to QiyamullLail - What, Why and How To Perform It
QiyamulLail literally means standing during the night or, in this case, standing and performing prayers to Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala).
Guide to QiyamulLail Night Prayer
l be free from any harm and viruses.
Make Istighfar
After finishing your night prayer, complete it with your most sincere istighfar. In Surah Ale ‘Imran between verse 15 to 17, Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala) mentioned that “For those who fear ‘Allah will be gardens in the presence of their Lord beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally, and purified spouses and approval from Allah” to a few groups of people, and one of those that Allah highlighted are “those who seek forgiveness before dawn”
˹It is they˺ who are patient, sincere, obedient, and charitable, and who pray for forgiveness before dawn
WHAT IF I FIND IT HARD TO WAKE UP FOR QIYAMULLAIL?
In a hadith, the Prophet (SallAllahu ‘alaihi wa Salam). said:
“Whoever gets up at night and says:
And then says: “O. Allah! Forgive me,” he will be forgiven. Or if he makes du’a to Allah, he will be responded to and if he performs ablution (and prays), his prayer will be accepted.
(Sahih Al-Bukhari)
In this short Hadith, there are multiple merits that we can achieve. First, we can utter the above mentioned Dhikr. Secondly, we can make our Du’a and thirdly, seek His forgiveness (Istighfar).
If you find it hard to get out of bed, this Dhikr is the best to start with. You can recite the Dhikr even when you don’t have your Wudu’ (ablution) or while still lying in bed.
And if we have the extra boost, why not continue with the night prayer or better known as Qiyamullail? Wouldn’t we want all our sins to be forgiven and our Du’a to be answered?
Once we are used to waking up at night for spiritual devotion, let us take this opportunity to wake up in the middle of the night to perform Qiyamullail.
May this article inspire us to get closer to Allah by doing Qiyamullail. Let set some time, perhaps before we have our Sahur to perform the night prayer. May we be among those whom the Prophet s.a.w. mentioned:
مَن قَامَ رَمَضَان إِيمَانًا وَاحتِسَابًا، غُفِر لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِن ذَنبِهِ
“Whoever prays during the night in Ramadan out of sincere faith and seeking its reward from Allah, will have all of his previous sins forgiven.”
(Sahih Al-Bukhari)
And Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala) knows the Best.

THE PROPHET’S LAST SERMON: MOUNT ARAFAT
After praising, and thanking Allah he said:
“O People, lend me an attentive ear, for I know not whether after this year, I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefore listen to what I am saying to you very carefully and take these words to those who could not be present here today.
O people, just as you regard this month, this day, this city as sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your Lord, and that He will indeed reckon your deeds. Allah has forbidden you to take usury (interest), therefore all interest obligation shall henceforth be waived. Your capital, however, is yours to keep. You will neither inflict nor suffer any inequity. Allah has judged that there shall be no interest and that all the interest due to Abbas ibn Abd Al-Muttalib (the Prophet’s uncle) shall henceforth be waived…
Beware of Satan, for the safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things.
O people, it is true that you have certain rights with regard to your women, but they also have rights over you. Remember that you have taken them as your wives only under Allah’s trust and with His permission. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Do treat your women well and be kind to them for they are your partners and committed helpers. And it is your right that they do not make friends with any one of whom you do not approve, as well as never to be unchaste.
O people, listen to me in earnest, worship Allah, say your five daily prayers (Salah), fast during the month of Ramadan, and give your wealth in Zakat. Perform Hajj if you can afford to.
All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over black nor does a black have any superiority over white except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not, therefore, do injustice to yourselves.
Remember, one day you will appear before Allah and answer for your deeds. So beware, do not stray from the path of righteousness after I am gone.
O people, no prophet or apostle will come after me and no new faith will be born.
Reason well, therefore, O people, and understand words which I convey to you. I leave behind me two things, the Quran and my example, the Sunnah and if you follow these you will never go astray.
All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and may the last ones understand my words better than those who listen to me directly. Be my witness, O Allah, that I have conveyed your message to your people”. (Bukhari, Muslim)

The Aspects of Allah, Part 1. "The Nose." From Surah 4: An Nisa, "The Women."
Tumblr media
4:163-170:
Indeed, We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], as We revealed to Noah and the prophets after him. And we revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, the Descendants, Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and Solomon, and to David We gave the book [of Psalms].
And [We sent] messengers about whom We have related [their stories] to you before and messengers about whom We have not related to you. And Allah spoke to Moses with [direct] speech.
[We sent] messengers as bringers of good tidings and warners so that mankind will have no argument against Allah after the messengers. And ever is Allah Exalted in Might and Wise.
But Allah bears witness to that which He has revealed to you. He has sent it down with His knowledge, and the angels bear witness [as well]. And sufficient is Allah as Witness.
Indeed, those who disbelieve and avert [people] from the way of Allah have certainly gone far astray.
Indeed, those who disbelieve and commit wrong [or injustice] - never will Allah forgive them, nor will He guide them to a path.
Except the path of Hell; they will abide therein forever. And that, for Allah, is [always] easy.
O Mankind, the Messenger has come to you with the truth from your Lord, so believe; it is better for you. But if you disbelieve - then indeed, to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and earth. And ever is Allah Knowing and Wise.
Commentary:
God stated in the Quran he breathed life into us through our ability to become sentient:
(32:9) then He duly proportioned him,15 and breathed into him of His spirit,16 and bestowed upon you ears and eyes and hearts. And yet, little thanks do you give.
So first came God, then came all that can be known, then came the Messengers, then came the eyes, the ears, and the mouth which receive the Verses of the Quran. All of this is said to be a dream until one understands the nature of Islam:
I heard Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) saying, “While I was sleeping, I saw that a cup full of milk was brought to me and I drank of it and gave the remaining of it to `Umar bin Al-Khattab.” They asked. What have you interpreted (about the dream)? O Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ)?” The Prophet (ﷺ) said. “(It is Religious) knowledge.”
Muhammad did not consider himself to be fully alive or awake till he drank of the "milk" of Allah, and then he began to institute the Sunnah, the way one practices at humanity. It is the Sunnah then that acts as the Nose of God, which breathes life into us and creates an age of man in place of a dirge:
— Sahih al-Bukhari 7032
The one who is most versed in Allah’s Book should act as Imam for the people, but if they are equally versed in reciting it, then the one who has most knowledge regarding Sunnah if they are equal regarding the Sunnah, then the earliest one to emigrate ; it they emigrated at the same time, then the earliest one to embrace Islam. No man must lead another in prayer where (the latter) has authority, or sit in his place of honor in his house, without his permission. Ashajj in his narration used the word, “age” in place of “Islam”.
— Sahih Muslim 673 a
So long as Islam continues to maintain the Sunnah, the practice of inhaling and exhaling pure knowledge instituted by the Prophet Muhammad after contact with Allah the Emigration Path from this bloodsoaked world to safety in the Masjid will not be cut off.

Allah is the Most Merciful. Here are some verses of Qur’an regarding His Mercy:
“Say My slaves who have transgressed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins) Do not despair of the Mercy of Allah: verily He forgives all sins. Truly He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (39:53)
“And whoever does a wrong or wrongs himself, but then seeks forgiveness from Allah, he will find Allah forgiving and merciful.” (4:110)
“Lo! Allah is a Lord of Kindness to mankind, but most of mankind give not thanks.” (2:143)
“And seek Allahs forgiveness. Certainly, Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.” (73:20)
“And it is He who accepts repentance from His servants and pardons the evil deed and knows what you do.” (42:25)
“And those who, when they commit a lewd act or wrong themselves with evil, remember Allah and ask forgiveness for their sins and who forgives sins except Allah? And they do not persist in what (wrong) they were doing while they knew it. For such, the reward is forgiveness from their Lord and Gardens with rivers flowing through, wherein they shall abide forever. How excellent is the reward of the doers (of good).” (3:135-136)
In a Hadith E Qudsi, Allah says:
“O son of Adam, as long as you call upon Me and put your hope in Me, I have forgiven you for what you have done and I do not mind. O son of Adam, if your sins were to reach the clouds of the sky and then you seek My forgiveness, I would forgive you. O son of Adam, if you were to come to Me with sins that are close to filling the earth and then you would meet Me without ascribing any partners with Me, I would certainly bring you forgiveness close to filling it.” [Al-Tirmidhi]
The Prophet, SallAllahu Alaihi Wa Sallam, also said:
“Allah, the Almighty says:
“Whosoever does a good deed, will have (reward) ten times like it and I add more; and whosoever does an evil, will have the punishment like it or I will forgive (him). And whosoever approaches Me by one span, I will approach him by one cubit; and whosever approaches Me by one cubit, I approach him by one fathom, and whosever comes to Me walking, I go to him running; and whosever meets Me with an earth-load of sins without associating anything with Me, I meet him with forgiveness like that.” [Muslim]
The following Hadith was Narrated Abu Huraira (RadiyAllahu Anhu):
‘I heard Allah’s Apostle (SallAllahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) saying,
“Allah divided Mercy into one-hundred parts and He kept its ninety-nine parts with Him and sent down its one part on the earth, and because of that, its one single part, His creations are Merciful to each other, so that even the mare lifts up its hoofs away from its baby animal, lest it should trample on it.'” [Bukhari]

“You defend and revere a book that says I am the vilest of all creatures (8:55), that I should be beheaded and my fingertips cut off (8:12), that I deserve eternal torture and damnation (2:257), that if I dare believe differently or speak against your beliefs, you should slay me wherever you find me (4:89, 2:191-193), and even crucify me (5:33).
And me? I type words on a laptop.
Who should really be "offended" here?”

Indeed, the worst of living creatures in the sight of Allah are those who have disbelieved, and they will not [ever] believe
https://quranx.com/8.12
[Remember] when your Lord inspired to the angels, "I am with you, so strengthen those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieved, so strike [them] upon the necks and strike from them every fingertip."
https://quranx.com/2.257
Allah is the ally of those who believe. He brings them out from darknesses into the light. And those who disbelieve - their allies are Taghut. They take them out of the light into darknesses. Those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide eternally therein.
https://quranx.com/4.89
They wish you would disbelieve as they disbelieved so you would be alike. So do not take from among them allies until they emigrate for the cause of Allah. But if they turn away, then seize them and kill them wherever you find them and take not from among them any ally or helper.
https://quranx.com/2.191-193
And kill them wherever you overtake them and expel them from wherever they have expelled you, and fitnah is worse than killing. And do not fight them at al-Masjid al- Haram until they fight you there. But if they fight you, then kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers.
And if they cease, then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
Fight them until there is no [more] fitnah and [until] worship is [acknowledged to be] for Allah. But if they cease, then there is to be no aggression except against the oppressors.
https://quranx.com/5.33
Indeed, the penalty for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive upon earth [to cause] corruption is none but that they be killed or crucified or that their hands and feet be cut off from opposite sides or that they be exiled from the land. That is for them a disgrace in this world; and for them in the Hereafter is a great punishment,

Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture - [fight] until they give the jizyah willingly while they are humbled.

Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah 's Apostle said, " I have been ordered to fight with the people till they say, 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah,' and whoever says, 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah,' his life and property will be saved by me except for Islamic law, and his accounts will be with Allah, (either to punish him or to forgive him.)"
https://quranx.com/Hadith/Muslim/USC-MSA/Book-1/Hadith-30
It is reported on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah said:
I have been commanded to fight against people so long as they do not declare that there is no god but Allah, and he who professed it was guaranteed the protection of his property and life on my behalf except for the right affairs rest with Allah.

Tafsir Ibn Kathir: Surah An-Nisa Ayah 92-93
Part: 2
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
92. It is not for a believer to kill a believer except by mistake; and whosoever kills a believer by mistake, he must set free a believing slave and submit compensation (blood money) to the deceased's family unless they remit it.
If the deceased belonged to a people at war with you and he was a believer, the freeing of a believing slave (is prescribed); and if he belonged to a people with whom you have a treaty of mutual alliance, then compensation (blood money) must be paid to his family, and a believing slave must be freed.
And whoso finds this beyond his means, he must fast for two consecutive months in order to seek repentance from Allah.
And Allah is Ever All-Knowing, All-Wise.
93. And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell to abide therein; and the wrath and the curse of Allah are upon him, and a great punishment is prepared for him.
Warning Against Intentional Murder
After Allah mentioned the ruling of unintentional murder, He mentioned the ruling for intentional murder.
Allah said,
And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell to abide therein; and the wrath and the curse of Allah are upon him, and a great punishment is prepared for him.
This Ayah carries a stern warning and promise for those who commit so grave a sin that it is mentioned along with Shirk in several Ayat of Allah's Book. For instance, in Surah Al-Furqan, Allah said, And those who invoke not any other god along with Allah, nor kill such person as Allah has forbidden, except for just cause. (25:68)
Allah said,
Say: "Come, I will recite what your Lord has prohibited you from: Join not anything in worship with Him. (6:151)
There are many Ayat and Hadiths that prohibit murder.
In the Two Sahihs, it is recorded that Ibn Mas`ud said that the Messenger of Allah said, Blood offenses are the first disputes to be judged between the people on the Day of Resurrection.
In a Hadith that Abu Dawud recorded, Ubadah bin As-Samit states that the Messenger of Allah said,
The believer will remain unburdened in righteousness as long as he does not shed prohibited blood. When he sheds forbidden blood, he will become burdened.
Another Hadith, states,
The destruction of this earthly life is less significant before Allah than killing a Muslim man (or woman).
Will the Repentance of those who Commit Intentional Murder, be Accepted
Ibn Abbas held the view that; the repentance of one who intentionally murders a believer, will not be accepted.
Al-Bukhari recorded that Ibn Jubayr said,
"The people of knowledge of Al-Kufah differed on this subject, I traveled to Ibn Abbas to ask him about it. He said, `This Ayah, (And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell) was the last revealed (on this subject) and nothing abrogated it.'''
Muslim and An-Nasa'i also recorded it.
However, the majority of scholars of the earlier and later generations said that; the killer's repentance can be accepted. If he repents, and goes back to Allah humbly, submissively, and performing righteous deeds, then Allah will change his evil deeds into good deeds and compensate the deceased for his loss by rewarding him for his suffering.
Allah said, (And those who invoke not any other god along with Allah), until, (Except those who repent and believe, and do righteous deeds). (25:68-70)
The Ayah we just mentioned should not be considered abrogated or only applicable to the disbelievers (who become Muslim), for this contradicts the general, encompassing indications of the Ayah and requires evidence to support it.
Allah knows best.
Allah said,
Say: "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves! Despair not of the mercy of Allah. (39:53)
This Ayah is general, covering all types of sins, including Kufr, Shirk, doubt, hypocrisy, murder, sin, and so forth.
Therefore, everyone who repents sincerely from any of these errors, then Allah will forgive him.
Allah said,
Verily, Allah forgives not that partners should be set up with Him (in worship), but He forgives except that (anything else) to whom He wills. (4:48)
This Ayah is general and includes every sin except Shirk, and it has been mentioned in this Surah, both after this Ayah and before it, in order to encourage hope in Allah, and Allah knows best.
It is confirmed in the Two Sahihs, that; an Israeli killed one hundred people then he asked a scholar, "Is it possible for me to repent?''
So he replied, "What is there that would prevent you from repentance?''
So he told him to go to another land where Allah was worshipped. He began to emigrate to it but died on the way, and the angel of mercy was the one to take him.
Although this Hadith is about an Israeli, it is even more suitable for the Muslim community that their repentance be accepted.
Indeed, Allah relieved Muslims from the burdens and restrictions that were placed on the Jews, and He sent our Prophet with the easy Hanifiyyah way (Islamic Monotheism).
As for the honorable Ayah, (And whoever kills a believer intentionally), Abu Hurayrah and several among the Salaf said that; this is his punishment, if Allah decides to punish him. And this is the case with every threat that is issued for every sin.
For instance, there could be good deeds that this person has done that would prevent him from being punished for that, and Allah knows best.
Even if the murderer inevitably enters the Fire as Ibn Abbas stated because his repentance was not accepted, or he did not have good deeds to save him, he will not remain there for eternity, but only for a long time.
There are Mutawatir Hadiths stating that the Messenger of Allah said,
Whoever has the least speck of faith in his heart shall ultimately depart the Fire.
