i miss when achievements were just neat little meaningless stamp things you'd get for doing something weird and that no one really thought or talked about and not considered a 100% necessary core mechanic and part of the experience for a Correct and Optimal game run. like trying to play it as a "100% achievements get" simulator legitimately ruins a lot of older games (and newer ones too tbh). this mindset everyone seems to have now that every game has to be designed specifically with being 100%'ed by an acheivement-hoarding minmaxer in mind is legitimately damaging to the art form i think

(disclaimer: I'm not sure which countries are affected aside from mine so this might not be applicable to everyone)
1. adding sellers to the affiliate program without seller's consent (by the way there's no opt out, only shopee can remove you from the program)
2. auto adding all the seller's products to be affiliate-promoted campaign "Open Campaign" at default 7% commission rate
"automatically add new shop products with default commission rates for easy promotion"
7% commission paid to affiliates, charged to sellers' account
(all without informing the seller)
7% of *sales price* which cuts heavily into seller's profits because this is on top of the regular Shopee commission fees, etc. etc.
(some shops seem to not be automatically added yet as of the time I checked this, however their sales volume seem to be lower than the shops that got automatically added)
3. hiding everything about affiliate marketing solution from shopee mobile application so that app user sellers are unaware of what's going on (as of June 18 2026 it's not visible on the mobile app, updated to latest version)
if you're not tracking your income carefully you might be spending more than you're earning by selling here
you also wouldn't know why unless you check your seller's platform *on desktop browser*
*and you have to click consent to their campaign terms before you can remove your products from the campaign*
Opt out:
You can't leave AWS unless Shopee removes you but if you're products were auto added to the affiliate campaign you can remove it from the campaign (I'm not sure whether this is the same for every country but this was how I removed mine for Open Campaign)
1. on computer web browser go to their seller platform for your country
2. under Marketing Center go to Affiliate Marketing Solution
on landing page (Homepage) you should be able to see whether you've been charged affiliate commission fees or not under the Affiliate Sales category
3. under Campaign go to Open Campaign
(unfortunately you might have to click consent to their terms first which makes it more difficult to sue them for doing this without your consent)
4. under Added Products tab, click remove on all the products you want to take out of the campaign
