even the silverest of spoons being in your mouth when you're born doesn't shield you from the unhappiness of life, but it does slap a bandage over a festering wound so you can ignore it a while longer. kenta mochizuki, a dermatologist originally from japan. beth mcnulty, general legal counsel for one of the biggest energy companies in all of australia. married a little later than either of their families would have liked, but in their defense, they were both busy being successful. and they barely slowed down long enough to have their only child, takaharu.
though of an ornery countenance since birth, taka was always still popular and favored because he was pretty and rich. clarinet lessons, piano lessons, drum lessons, surfing lessons, she was set up for success from the very beginning. her childhood memories are mostly accompanied by nannies and tutors, though her father, an earnest and excitable man, always made an effort to be present in his child's life, eager to see her succeed.
there was always a distance between taka and their mother, though; taka knows now that beth never wanted to be a parent. this attitude became clearly evident when she didn't show up to taka's tenth birthday dinner. it was soon revealed that she'd forgotten, and more of the truth came tumbling out: she shirked her parental duties for an affair. and this apparently had been going on for quite some time, seeing other men that weren't her heartbreakingly devoted husband.
a divorce ensued, and taka sided with his kind, loving father, who had also always made an effort to keep japanese culture alive in the home. when taka was barely into her teens, her father sat her down to tell her about a woman he'd met online, one he'd fallen in love with. the catch was that she lived in malibu. taka was given the choice to live with her mother or move to the united states with her father. she easily chose the latter.
lashonda rhimes, successful anesthesiologist to the stars, and kenta's second wife. she was a few years younger, though not egregiously so, but still childless. and she treated taka like her own child, which might have been externally brushed off by the surly teenager, but taka came to appreciate it. he was popular in his new home, with his accent and his money and his looks. being so intelligent, the transition to a new continent wasn't difficult at all, and he finished high school near the top of his class.
he didn't really have a plan for his life, and all his parents really wanted out of him was just for him to go to college. an acceptance to duke university was sweetened by some scholarships, and whatever those didn't cover was easily made up for by the wads of cash his family had. taka had started smoking weed not long after landing in the US, but she branched out into new drugs while in durham, north carolina, for college.
acid trips were unpleasant every time she tried dropping; and she didn't like injecting anything to leave marks behind on her pretty body. but she soon found a bad habit in cocaine. she would sniff a few lines, party for several hours, go home and do homework, go to class, and go to modeling shoots, and do it all over again. somehow, using sheer ambition probably, she finished college within 4 years, even with a double major and a couple semesters spent studying abroad.
bouncing around the US for a year or so; living with his aunt in japan for a couple years; and then landing in anchorage for the next adventure around 2016
these days, taka keep busy in any way she knows how: too long with her own thoughts can be dangerous and make her itch to return to her cocaine habit. but they've done a good job of staying clean. taka doesn't need to work for money—his mother sends him gobs of money to curry his favor, and his father and stepmother have nobody else to spoil—but he does work to stay busy, spinning tunes at the boom boom room; modeling for small indie publications and brands; and gaining some traction as a music producer.
with more money than one person should ever need, taka gives a lot of it away. there are a few charities she routinely makes generous donations to; but she also likes to take care of her friends. she'll buy her closest friends whatever they want, buy their groceries, offer to pay rent or even let them stay in her house, offer to pay their medical bills... seriously, what is one lonely person gonna do with all those digits in their bank account? besides, spending money is the only way she knows how to show love.

...until they did help each other. cyrek was convinced into rehab for his heroin addiction, and the experience forced taka to think about her own life and health. they practically entered the rehab facility at the exact same time, and were probably the greatest support to one another during that time, further cementing their deep friendship. holding each other's hand while traversing the wilderness of recovery completely bonded them.

Reveling in the Subtle Art: The Distinctive Charms of Double Meaning Jokes in Hindi
Laughter knows no bounds, transcending language barriers and cultural divides. Double meaning jokes in Hindi embody this universality, eliciting laughter from audiences across demographics. Whether delivered in the bustling streets of Mumbai or the serene valleys of Himachal, their humor resonates with people from all walks of life, uniting them in shared moments of joy and merriment.
In the vibrant tapestry of Indian humor, double meaning jokes stand out as a unique thread, weaving laughter through innuendos and wit. In the realm of comedy, they serve as a delightful concoction of innocent mischief and cheeky wordplay, tickling the funny bones of millions. Let's delve into the realm of Double Meaning Jokes in Hindi and explore their charm and nuances.
The Essence of Double Meaning Jokes:
Double meaning jokes, or 'dual interpretation humor', thrive on the clever manipulation of language. They possess a surface-level meaning, innocuous and straightforward, but beneath that lies a concealed, often risqué interpretation. This duality of meaning lends them an element of surprise and amusement, making them immensely popular across various demographics.
The Art of Wordplay:
At the heart of double meaning jokes lies the art of wordplay. Hindi, with its rich vocabulary and nuanced expressions, provides a fertile ground for crafting these comedic gems. Playful twists, puns, and clever juxtaposition of words are employed to create scenarios that can be interpreted in multiple ways, often leading to uproarious laughter.
Cultural Context and Sensitivity:
While double meaning jokes are celebrated for their wit and humor, they also tread a fine line between harmless fun and offense. Cultural context and sensitivity play a crucial role in determining the acceptability of these jokes. It's imperative to ensure that the humor remains light-hearted and inclusive, devoid of any derogatory connotations or offensive undertones.
The Role of Pop Culture:
Double meaning jokes in Hindi are often inspired by pop culture references, ranging from Bollywood dialogues to current affairs. They serve as a reflection of society's collective consciousness, capturing prevalent trends and topics with a comedic twist. This integration of familiar elements amplifies their relatability and resonance, further enhancing their comedic impact.
A Universal Language of Laughter:
Despite being deeply rooted in Hindi culture, double meaning jokes transcend linguistic barriers, evoking laughter and amusement across diverse audiences. Their universal appeal lies in their ability to tap into the shared human experience of finding humor in the unexpected and the absurd. In a world fraught with complexities, they offer a momentary escape into the realm of pure, unadulterated joy.
The Evolution of Humor:
As society evolves, so does its sense of humor. Double meaning jokes, too, have evolved over time, adapting to changing social norms and sensibilities. While some may view them as a relic of a bygone era, others continue to cherish them as an integral part of India's comedic landscape, a testament to the enduring power of laughter in bringing people together.
Embracing Linguistic Playfulness:
Double meaning jokes in Hindi revel in linguistic acrobatics, where words dance on the edge of innocence and innuendo. Unlike straightforward humor, they invite audiences to decode hidden meanings, adding an extra layer of amusement to the laughter. This linguistic playfulness distinguishes them, making each joke a delightful puzzle waiting to be solved.
Navigating Cultural Sensitivities:
In the diverse tapestry of Indian culture, navigating sensitivities is paramount when crafting double meaning jokes. While they thrive on cheeky wordplay, they must also tread carefully to avoid crossing the line into offensiveness. Understanding cultural nuances and respecting boundaries is key to ensuring that the humor remains light-hearted and inclusive, fostering laughter without causing harm.
The Subtlety of Delivery:
Mastering the art of delivery is crucial for the success of double meaning jokes. Unlike slapstick comedy, which relies on exaggerated gestures and physical humor, these jokes demand subtlety and finesse in execution. A well-timed pause, a suggestive glance, or a subtle change in tone can transform an innocuous statement into a rib-tickling punchline, leaving audiences in splits.
Celebrating Creativity and Wit:
Double meaning jokes in Hindi are a celebration of creativity and wit, where every word is meticulously chosen to evoke laughter. Crafting these jokes requires a keen understanding of language nuances and a playful imagination to twist words in unexpected ways. It's a testament to the ingenuity of comedians and wordsmiths who continue to push the boundaries of humor, eliciting laughter with their linguistic prowess.
From Tradition to Modernity:
While double meaning jokes have deep roots in traditional Indian humor, they have also evolved to reflect modern sensibilities. From classic Bollywood dialogues to contemporary memes, they draw inspiration from a wide array of sources, seamlessly blending tradition with modernity. This evolution ensures their relevance in a rapidly changing world, where humor serves as a timeless bridge between generations.~

CHAPTER 22
The more I read the papers
The less I comprehend
The world with all its capers
And how it all will end
Nothing seems to be lasting
But that isn't our affair
We've got something permanent
I mean in the way we care
It's very clear
Our love is here to stay
Not for a year
But ever and a day
The radio and the telephone
And the movies that we know
May just be passing fancies
And in time may go
But, oh my dear,
Our love is here to stay
Together we're going a long, long way
"Happy Anniversary." I smiled as I felt his warm breath on my neck.
I then rest my head on his chest and follow his rhythm as we dance together in front of the sea and the sunset as witnesses of our unfailing love for each other.
His loud throbbing heartbeat is like music to my ears, and his warm and gentle hands that are resting on my waist feel safe. I couldn't ask for anything better.
"I'm so in love with you." I lovingly spoke as I hugged him tighter. I heard him chuckle, he stared down at me and tucked my hair onto my ears.
He kissed my temple and closed his eyes as we felt the cold breeze embracing us together.
"Hulog na din ako, Rae. Hard." I smiled and reached his cheek to caress it.
He then slowly opens his eyes and stares at me. He smiled back at me and tilted his head, and within a few seconds, I felt his soft lips touching mine.
The kiss is slow and gentle. It's like he is scared that he might hurt me. Scared that this might be the last, but I know it wouldn't. Because I won't let that happen.
My heart is overflowing with love and happiness. I didn't know that I would be able to feel this kind of affection toward someone. I love him so much that I will do and give everything to him. It is overwhelming yet true.
"Ang ganda mo." I lightly chuckled. I closed my eyes and let him caress my face.
"It's setting." I looked up at him and saw that he was watching the sun setting. I watched it too and admired how beautiful its blazing color was.
For a moment, everything just stopped and our eyes were just glued to the sun. We watched how the sky turned from a fiery hue to a deeper shade of dark. Again, stars are nowhere to be seen but it didn't dismay me because I know I have someone who will always bring light to me.
"It's beautiful," I said while staring at him. I saw a glimpse of surprise as he looked down at me. He must have been thinking that I was admiring something else but found my eyes focusing on him.
"Ayan ah, masyado mo na ako pina pakilig. Baka hindi na kita iuwi niyan." He nudged my shoulder and tried to cover his shyness with a joke. I laughed.
"Pwede naman, bakit hindi." Benedict gasped at mabilis na lumayo sa akin.
"Kaya ba kanina ka pa tahimik ah, yun kasi iniisip mo? Planado mo to noh?" I shook my head and tried to reach him again but he immediately avoided my hands.
"Why? I want to hug you!" He arched his brow.
"Hug lang? Sure na?" I frowned and he laughed. He then embraced me and put kisses on top of my head.
"Are you happy?" I looked at him and furrowed my brows.
"Of course I am. I am always happy when I'm with you." He chuckled and put me back in my position as before I faced him.
"Halata naman." I lightly hit his arm that was resting on my waist and rolled my eyes.
"Fourth year na tayo. Anong plano mo after ng graduation?" I asked him while I played with his fingers.
There was a sudden long silence so I faced him again. I furrowed my brows when I saw that he was in deep thought.
"Ang lalim ng iniisip mo ah." His eyes slightly widened
"Ahh, iniisip kasi kita." I roll my eyes and hug him.
"So? What's your plan?" He looked down at me and chuckled.
"Matagal pa naman ang graduation natin. Kakaumpisa pa nga lang ng school year. Saka malay mo hindi ako makagraduate---aray." I punched his chest and frowned at him.
"Wag mo sabihin yan. Makaka graduate ka, sabay tayo." Pagalit kong sabi.
I slowly nodded.
Well he's right. Pwede naman talaga magbago lahat, pero hindi din naman masamang kahit papaano ay may goal ka, para if ever may magbago nga at least there's still something you will want to achieve. Something that will keep you on track.
"Bakit ikaw ba, ano ba ang plano mo after ng Graduation?" Umayos ako ng upo at humarap sakanya.
"Well, I'm planning to work for the Vasco company but I will just apply for a small position. I want to gather experiences first, small steps lang. Then if kaya ko na, I might build my own business." I saw him nodding like he was processing my plans in life.
"How about your family business?" Saglit akong natigilan at hindi nakasagot. I have other plans for that but I can't tell it anyone yet because it wasn't that concrete.
"Uhm... of course I'll handle it as well. But I want to create my own name. I am planning to somewhat do all the things that I love after I graduate. You know, yung mga bagay na hindi ko magawa dati, mga bagay na gusto ko pero hindi ko makuha kasi hindi pwede."
"Aba, mukhang magrerebelde ka ah" I lightly hit his arms and jokingly glared at him.
"Mabuti yan. I want you to pursue your passion. Wag mo hayaang makulong ka sa takot at sa sinasabi sayo na dapat ay gawin mo ng ibang tao. Wala naman kasi talagang dapat, ang may karapatan lang na magbigay ng hatong sayo ay ang sarili mo. Kakayahan mo yan at sarili mo yan. Alam mo kung saan hihinto, kung saan pupunta, kung saan tutuloy. Alam mo kung anong kaya mong gawin, gusto at hindi. Alam kong wala akong karapatan pero hinihiling ko na sana maging malaya ka balang araw. Malaya magdesisyon para sa sarili mo, malaya gawin ang gusto mo." He pulled me and embraced me.
"I want to see you reach those dreams. I wanna be with you... so badly." It was just a mumble that I think he doesn't have any intention for me to hear but because we are so close to each other, my ears heard it. Loudly.
"Hello Manang. Kumusta po? Sila Mommy po and Daddy, kumusta?"
I furrowed my brows.
Ever since Dad gave them a share on our business ay hindi naman na sila masyadong nagkakausap, kaya nga nagulat ako nung makita ko si Tito Marco sa plantation noon. Maybe it's about business again. Pero bakit sila mag aaway ni Dad?
"Ganun po ba, How's mom po?" Benedict is just silently combing my hair.
"Hindi ko masabi kung ayos ba o hindi. Hindi ko na din mabasa ang mga kinikilos ng mga magulang mo dito sa bahay, Mukhang ayos naman dahil hindi na umiiyak ang mommy mo at hindi ko na naririnig na nag aaway pero mukha ding hindi dahil parang hindi siya si Minerva na kilala ko. Malaki ang pinagbago, hindi na masyadong nagkakakain. Ang Daddy mo naman ay lagi sa plantation." I sigh. I suddenly got worried. I thought they were already okay.
"Maybe I should visit them again after finals, what do you think?" I asked Benedict who was staring down at me.
"Yes, of course. And you deserve a rest too." I nodded at him and messaged our driver na sunduin ako sa araw na sinabi ko sa kanya.
Good thing it was also our Christmas break when the finals were done. Benedict and I did well which is a relief. So far wala akong problema when it comes to academics. I get to maintain my flat uno grades. I am also running for a Summa Cum Laude and I am planning to break that news to my parents once I get home.
Benedict helped me pack my things, I was apologizing to him since I am not going to celebrate Christmas with him but he was so understanding.
Ahh, I love this man.
"Mag-iingat ka ah. Natawagan mo na ba si Yna?" I shook my head.
"I'm actually worried about her. If you ever saw her, tell her to contact me okay?" He nodded and kissed my forehead.
"Yes, don't worry. Bye, I love you." We kissed each other before I got into the car.
Just 4 days from now is Christmas and I am looking forward to celebrating it with them but I wasn't really expecting that much. I know we weren't close, that we are not that kind of family, but I'm hoping that this year will be different.
I am also planning to tell them about Benedict but I guess destiny isn't on my side again.
"What is happening?" I followed Dad as he stormed to his office in the house. He looked mad and disappointed. I saw mom follow us as well.
"Marco, that bastard." I furrowed my brows. Dad loosened his tie and placed both of his palms on his table. He heaved a sigh and his eyes were raging in madness.
"What did he do?" My mom weakly said.
A lot of things changed in this house. Before I always felt scared whenever I set foot in this house but now, it is all gone. It turned into sadness. The house feels lifeless. My mom is looking frail and sick. And my dad seemed distressed.
"How many months till your graduation, Rae?" Instead of answering our question to him, he turned his gaze on me and asked me out of nowhere which made me furrow my brows.
"Six months from now. Why, Dad?" He heaved a sigh.
"Good, hang on until then. Marco already bought all of our investors, that fucking bastard. I trusted him and gave him the share of our business pero ito ang ipapalit niya? Fuck!" Mom and I flinched when he suddenly threw the desktop from his table.
"W-what?" Hindi ko makapaniwalang tanong.
"Yes, he bought them all and wants everything that we have. He is a greedy asshole. He asked me to give him the plantation but I refused and now this. Ito ang ginawa niyang ganti. Plantation nalang at lupain ang mayroon tayo, nakasalalay sayo Rae ang lahat. Do well on your studies and I will kill that bastard." Galit na galit na sinabi ni Daddy.
"May papatayin ka na naman?" I gasped and looked at my Mom who was glaring at my Dad.
"Shut up, Minerva!"
"No! You shut up. I already told you to not give those fucking peasant anything but you still insist. It is your fault kung bakit nawawala sayo lahat. I guess it's about time for your karma." I flinched when dad quickly went to my mom and strangled her. I screamed and tried to stop him.
"Dad! Stop! What are you doing?" Instead of crying for help, I saw a smirk through my mom's tears.
"Go on. Kill me." I was crying as Dad gripped my mom's neck more.
"Daddy stop please!" But he didn't.
I can see the changing color of my mom's face and in just a split second my dad is now lying on the floor and blood gushing from his head. My mom is hardly breathing, the maid was crying and calling an ambulance while I shiver as the vase from my hand broke when I let go of it.
"I—" I didn't know what to say, I was trembling with fear, hatred, and anger. I am scared that he will really kill mom, I didn't know what to do and how to stop him. And I am more scared now as I watch the blood on our floor because of my own doing.
My hands were still trembling as Kuya Haides came. He talked to the police.
We are now in the hospital to aid my mom and my dad. I am still wearing the dress that has blood stains on it. Kuya Snoah then talked to the doctors and asked about their case. I felt Lucas's hands on mine and he is gripping them to comfort me.
"Rae!" Jacksion came running and hugged me.
"Oh, God! Are you okay? Are you hurt? Tell me!" I want to speak but I don't have any strength to do so. Kuya Tim tapped Jacksion's shoulder to ease his panic.
"It's okay, It'll be okay," Jacksion whispered while hugging me.

- BACKSTORY / MODERN VERSE.
born to a real estate tycoon and his second, swimsuit illustrated model, wife, leela hadn’t wanted for much in her childhood. she was the youngest of five and doted on by all her family including her half-siblings. until the age of seventeen, she knew nothing but happiness. she was spoiled and never learned how to fend for herself beyond wrapping people round her little finger and getting what she wanted with as little effort as possible.
so when her father’s fortune fell through and they lost everything, life got a little bit harder for the heiress who had never worked a day in her life. suddenly she was expected to work to help provide for the family, and she needed skills that she did not possess. college was off the agenda, she had literally nothing beyond her bank account that she was passionate about. so she started off selling clothes, organising the wardrobes of the people she used to call friends. slowly she built up a client portfolio and she was bringing in money for home, but not enough for her to keep up with her luxurious tastes.
eventually leela began to post on instagram. outfits of the day, workouts, skincare. she started racking up sponsors and soon realised that the more together her life looked, the more views and money she got. if she posted a selfie from her dull bedroom mirror, she might get a few hundred likes, a thousand at most. if she took the same picture in the bathroom of an upscale restaurant and tagged it then she would garner ten times the amount. even if she hadn’t eaten there. who needed to know that?
over the next few months she grew her instagram following and made the natural transition to youtube. she began to vlog her day, post meals she wasn’t eating full of sponsored supplements she wasn’t taking. she would post doctored photographs of her holidays in the maldives that never happened, just sunbathing in her back garden. when she went anywhere, it was because she was invited there as an honoured guest. little lies that would dress up her feed, give her the life she craved but didn’t have. as the money began to roll in, the lies needed to be upped.
leela’s life is mostly a lie. she does now possess a fraction of the money she used to have, enough that she can afford some of the luxuries she pretends are her own. rather than posting a photo of the rented gucci dress, it now hangs in her wardrobe. a proud testament to her supposed hard work. it’s a dishonest career that could be toppled with just one youtube expose commentary. but she was careful to cover her tracks, there’s no way she’s going back to the other life. whilst her siblings settled into quiet careers, leela was intent on keeping her star shining bright.
as she climbs higher, she only gets herself deeper into the lie. the friends she has made on her way up all assume her pockets are as well lined as their own and leela has to keep up. every holiday they plan, or weekend away in cabo, she must attend or risk losing the reputation she has cultivated. but whilst she has money, it’s not nearly enough to cover the costs of her made up life. the debts are beginning to pile up and very soon she’s going to have to pay them off or cut ties with the life altogether and risk public humiliation - but even that isn’t enough to slow the swipe of her credit card.
her weekends are always the same. she parties until the early hours and returns to her empty flat. literally empty, she only has the bare minimum flat pack furniture to fill out, because every cent of her earnings goes on the materialistic purchases she needs to stay afloat. the parties are always the same, and she always drinks too much. barely ever does she really enjoy them, but it’s an image she must keep up. who wants to a follow an instagram page that stays in on a friday night watching tv?
her family have expressed their worry on multiple occasions, that have only made the stubborn self-proclaimed social media star to push them away. she doesn’t want to hear about all she’s doing wrong, that it’s not too late to really make something of herself instead of wasting all her time and potential on people who will desert her when her bank account depletes. leela knows full well that she’s the family fuck up, so why should she bother trying to change that now? either she’ll soar, or she’ll crash to the ground in a ball of flames. but at least she’ll look good doing it. at least she’ll be remembered.
- BACK STORY / ROYAL VERSE.
the netherlands, despite being her place of birth, is known only to leela through sailors stories and distant memories - ones that may be no more than a product of an overactive child's imagination. her mother had been of noble blood once upon a time, wed to a high up ambassador tasked with securing trade through india. the lady marie was a renowned beauty in her home, one leela’s father had found impossible to ignore. their affair had been secret dalliances, whispered promises when he was just a prince about to ascend. when her mother returned to the netherlands, it had only been just long enough to realise she was pregnant, to carry the child to term, and to flee to the arms of the man she loved. she remained in rajasthan as his proud mistress.
her life as a bastard would no doubt have been a miserable one in europe, with the eyes of scandalised nobles on her. but the halls of rambagh palace were filled with warmth, the young leela’s laughter imbuing the walls with joy and shielding her from others disdain. her summers were spent boating on the man sagar lake, and then evenings in the hidden depths of jal mahal. despite her status, she was never made to feel less. even at dinners, when her title saw that she must sit at the back for feasts to save guests the embarrassment of sharing a meal with a natural born daughter, she was sought out as the life of the party. the back of the hall always roaring with laughter as leela delighted them all with tales of her adventures and jokes at her siblings expense. she may have been born destined for low birth, but she was born loved. cherished by her father for her wild spirit, and treasured by her mother for being her only child. the two women were indeed very similar, both ambitious but keen above all else to lead a life of their choosing. decided by no one but themselves. perhaps that was why leela was her father’s favourite.
her childhood was as perfect as one could have asked for. almost pristine if not for the large black burn that would mar her for life. at sixteen, an evening in the cellars of jal mahal had gone horribly awry. with her siblings around her she had her first taste of wine, and all reason between the five of them had gone out the window soon after. leela had left to retrieve another bottle when she’d run into one of the noble guests staying with them. bastards were a product of lust, and their offspring assumed to be wanton too. the man had said as such when he had gripped her arm tightly. if her brother had not come looking... the man had been executed, and she had turned into her mother when the axe had swung. to this day, she avoids small spaces and dreads the feeling of someone lurking over her. she would be in control, she would have the advantage, or she would have nothing from them.
leela relishes in being a bastard, for she has all the royal benefits of her four siblings, but near none of the responsibility. whilst they must smile and preen for foreign visitors, leela can go where she wishes. no escort need follow the bastard of rajasthan, their moonlit princess they so adored free to wander the city and mix with commoners and merchants alike. it is for that very reason that her father saw an opportunity for his kingdom, and a use for the wandering leela. a bastard she may be, but everyone needed a place.
as she grew, leela’s friendly banter turned quickly to flirtation and she soon learned she had inherited more from her mother than just her beauty. the bastard soon grasped that her looks could be used for her own advantage, and manipulating the men of the court became her favourite sport. with one flash of her smile, men and women alike would bend to her every whim and that had been her first taste of true power. her father instructed her to use her charming talents to extract secrets from tight lipped nobles, the merchants in the city and the peasants he ruled over. leela was not royal, nor was she common, she was on a plane of her very own. the lowest trusted her and accepted her as one of them, whilst the highest saw her as nothing but a useless nuisance - evidence of their ruler’s indiscretions. secrets were easy to garner for the unseen, and leela was difficult to deny. the whispers she had fed back to her father have stopped many a disaster before they even had the chance to take root.
but they took their toll on her too. leela can charm whoever she wants but always for a purpose. making bonds, forging friendships? this she has never mastered. always a fleeting enigma in another’s life. for that she suffers in quiet loneliness. she has the love of her family, but not much else. she’s never learned how to keep a hold of something for good. she loves her freedom, and has traded any stability in her life for it.
though she swans about the halls in red satin dresses and trusted brown leather boots, it is not just her seductive charm that she takes pride in. rajasthan is known for war, for it’s soldiers that were unmatched but for the warriors of old. she was no different. unlike the noble ladies, she was able to train from a young age and soon grew to be an excellent warrior of her own. though she will never be able to join the men at any front, she ought not to be crossed in combat either. with a sword she is light as a dancer, a breeze on a ships sail. many men have gambled their chances, and lost their bets and dignity soon after. often she trains with the men at the waterfront, enjoying the wind in her hair as swords ring around her. in another life, she might have boarded one of those ships and sailed the seas as an infamous pirate queen.
life didn’t change much for her when the war broke out. in fact, it didn’t change much for rajasthan at all. for a while they stayed out of europe’s messy business, not caring for a sultan that washed up dead on some beach. eventually, their powerful cavalry was sought out by the ottoman empire and they were drawn into the fight to aid the coalition. still, leela went about unchanged. the battles were not brought to their home, only men were sent away to prove their glory in a fight. life was all rosy for the bastard princess, until a certain kingdom came begging.
the marathas had allied themselves with the entente, with trade promises that had fallen through and leaving them with empty pockets. the two kingdoms had always been in petty dispute with the other, never really coming to blows but the tension had always been there. a war waiting to break out if neither side were careful. the marathas were still a great kingdom, well known and revered. it was not a fight leela’s father wanted to engage in, and so an agreement was drawn up. they would fill their empty coiffers in exchange for their alliance with the coalition. to seal the deal, leela was offered as a bride for the prince and a betrothal was arranged. a bastards hand for a prince was slap in the face, and they all knew it, but the marathas had little room to negotiate.
unsurprisingly, leela was not one to bow to authority. in fact, had she not been the daughter of a king she would be the one to rise against him, to rebel against the monarchy’s imposed rule. but such is not the case, so she finds other ways to flout the powers that be. ignoring the courtly graces everyone knew she had, purposely misusing titles and mocking the nobles who sneered at her. leela is overconfident, impudent and refuses to listen to anyone about what she can and cannot do. she is prone to chaos, revelling in it more often than not. she is quarrelsome, sometimes just for her own pleasure as she lacks any knowledge of consequence.
her very touch means chaos, and trouble follows her every smile. the serpent is chanted proudly by the people that adore her, for she is a woman who would drag a man to their grave given the chance, and slithered her way into the hearts of many. leela is bold, and relishes the adventure that her life has given her. she cares very little for anything. as far as she's concerned, she has all she could ever want.
leela is not pleased with the loss of her freedom, and her pending title of queen should raj ever make it to the throne. nor is she keen on the cocky prince, but she is thrilled that her hand is proving an embarrassment for him. they’ve both been sent to versailles to represent their separate lands, but leela only sees this as a chance to enjoy herself and see more of the world. her father has reminded her that she is there to be the face of rajasthan on the world stage, but that’s all semantics. after years of doing whatever she wished, she is not like to change now even if she may end up outranking all her siblings in the end. a nasty twist of fate for the woman who’d always been impossible to forget but never wished to be caged.

Sunny Yasuda can only vaguely remember his father. By the time he was born in Tokyo in 1975, his parents’ marriage was on the verge of collapse, and his Indian father soon returned to his homeland, leaving his Japanese mother on her own to raise their three children.
Yasuda cannot speak English, Hindi or any Indian languages, and as far as upbringing is concerned, is Japanese in every single aspect except for his appearance — his tanned complexion and South Asian features reflect his mixed background, something he recalls has always forced him to be an outsider when he was growing up.
And like so many other offspring of international relationships, Yasuda has experienced his share of dealing with Japan’s Nationality Law, which forbids retention of multiple citizenships to those over 22 — a rule the government cannot enforce due to technical difficulties, and an ambiguity that affects the lives and identity of many with similar backgrounds to Yasuda.
“I was the unlucky one,” Yasuda joked, when recalling how his older brother and sister both filed for Japanese nationality soon after Jan. 1, 1985, when the law was amended to allow Japanese nationality to children born in Japan to Japanese mothers.
Inheritance of citizenship was previously based on paternal lineage, and Yasuda and his siblings were all registered as Indian nationals upon birth.
“They had a choice, I didn’t,” Yasuda said, referring to the difference between him and his older brother and sister.
Those aged over 15 during the three years after the new law came into effect were considered eligible to apply without parental consent, and Yasuda’s siblings satisfied the requirement.
Yasuda, however, was 9 at the time, and needed both his father’s and mother’s written approval, which he could not obtain. His parents never officially filed for divorce — if they had, his mother’s consent would have been enough. His father had long since left the country and had effectively ceased contact with the family.
“Even if I had dual nationalities, I think I’d still have opted to be Japanese. I was told that you had to decide on one before you turned 20 or 21, and that’s what my brother and sister did,” he said.
Yasuda became a naturalized Japanese citizen when he was 17, soon after he attained permanent residency status. “We’re all Japanese now.”
“You know, you just ask yourself, ‘What’s the point?’ ” Yasuda said, recalling why he gave up his father’s nationality.
“I’d never been to India, and I only met my father once or twice when I was a kid. I heard he’s already passed away,” he said.
Still, Yasuda believes that people like himself, who were ignorant of the law or their cultural backgrounds due to the environment they grew up in, should be offered another chance.
“India’s in my blood. Yeah, I grew up in Japan, but it’s still a part of my roots. If I’d had the chance now, I would definitely want Indian nationality. It’ll give me new chances, new potentials, whether it be work-related or not,” he said, recalling how he had always been forced to be conscious of his racial heritage.
“Whatever job I took, wherever I went, I’d always start off as the ‘gaijin’ (foreigner),” said Yasuda, who has been working in bars and restaurants since finishing junior high school. He said that began to change when he was around 20.
“I think it was around then that I noticed a lot more foreigners in town. People began complimenting me for being a ‘half’ (of mixed descent), and I guess that sort of turned things around for me, changed my attitude, helped me feel positive,” he said, adding that if he ever has children, he would be sure to educate them about the culture of their grandfather’s country.
The number of international marriages in Japan has steadily increased over the years, peaking in 2006 at 44,701, accounting for 6.5 percent of all marriages that year according to health ministry statistics. The number of children born with multiple nationalities is believed to have been increasing accordingly, with unofficial government estimates predicting that there were 530,000 as of 2006.
Take the case of a 25-year-old Tokyo-based freelance Web and graphic designer born to a Japanese mother and British father. The man, who declined to be identified, decided to retain his dual nationality status even after he turned 22, when those with multiple nationalities are advised to officially give up one or the other.
The man initially only had British citizenship until his parents filed for his Japanese nationality following the 1985 amendment. He grew up receiving a Japanese education until high school, when he decided to transfer to a school in the U.K., eventually attending university there before returning to Japan.
“I’ve got two passports under two separate names. One has my Japanese name, the other my English name. How could authorities determine if it’s the same person?” the designer asked, adding that even if they did find out that he still kept both, there would be nothing they could do to force on him a decision — it would be tantamount to intervening in the internal affairs of the other nation.
He noted, however, that if he were forced to renounce either one of his nationalities, he would keep his British citizenship.
“Practically speaking, I could probably file for permanent residency in Japan relatively easily, having lived here for so long,” he said, adding that he felt being European would be more useful in his life.
“You know, I think this law is sort of like an urban legend,” he added, referring to the ambiguity of the age limit that some comply with but many are said to ignore, and the public’s lack of knowledge regarding the facts of the law.
“I’ve been paying my Japanese taxes, pension fees, I’ve got voting rights — I’d protest if authorities came to me now and took my Japanese nationality away,” he said, adding that he didn’t understand why Japan, with no mandatory military draft, disapproves of multiple nationalities.
This sentiment was echoed by a 30-year-old woman born in Japan to an American father and Japanese mother.
“I don’t understand the downside for Japan to allow dual nationalities. With a shrinking population and workforce, I would think they would want to encourage as many people as possible to live and work in Japan,” said the woman, a production specialist working for a Japanese game maker in San Francisco.
She, like her U.S.-born twin brother and sister, is a U.S. citizen, with permanent resident status in Japan. Her youngest brother, however, was born after 1985 and retains both nationalities.
“The real discrepancy (in the family) is between (my youngest brother) and me. We were both born in Japan to the same parents, but I was born 10 years earlier than him,” she said, explaining how her parents considered getting Japanese nationalities for their three older children after 1985, but in the end felt it was more hassle than it was worth.
The woman said that because she doesn’t have Japanese citizenship, she had to return to Nagoya, her home city, every few years to renew her re-entry permit, something her youngest brother doesn’t have to do.
“Another thing that bothers me recently is the right to vote,” she added. “As someone who’s spent the great majority of her life in Japan and has every other privilege as a Japanese person, I think it makes sense that I should have a voice on the decisions being made in government that would affect my life.”
In Mika Yuki’s case, however, it wasn’t the 1985 amendment that prompted her family to file for her Japanese nationality.
Her father originally came from Hong Kong. After marrying his Japanese wife and having fathered Yuki, he became a naturalized Japanese citizen in 1986, and on the same day, applied for her Japanese citizenship, passing on his newfound nationality to his daughter, who was born as a British national.
“I’ve never visited England in my life, and was never too conscious of my British nationality,” said Yuki, 26, who spent her high school and college years in the United States before returning to Japan to work at her father’s jewelry company in Tokyo.
She said that although she does consider Japan her home, she never strongly felt Japanese. Spending part of her youth in the U.S., she recalls how she always felt slightly out of place in both Japan and the U.S.
“I’ve thought about nationality and about its significance many times,” she said. “But in the end, it doesn’t really matter where I was born. I belong where my family is.”
Yuki said she was not even sure if she still retained her British citizenship. “I was told that eventually I would have to decide on one nationality over the other, but with the 1997 (handover) of Hong Kong to China, I’m not sure what’s happened to it,” she said.
The British Embassy in Tokyo said that those who haven’t applied for a British National (Overseas) nationality — a tailor-made nationality for Hong Kong residents with British Dependent Territories citizen status — by 1997 would have automatically lost their former British nationality.
Then there’s the case of a 27-year-old Japanese woman. In 2006, she filed marriage papers with her British husband, and the couple had a daughter the following year. The mother currently juggles her career with raising her 1-year-old.
The daughter is Japanese, something improbable before 1985. Her parents haven’t applied for her to obtain British citizenship just yet, although they plan on doing so soon — it could be done any time since the U.K. recognizes dual nationality.
It will be another 20 years before the girl might have to decide — if the current Nationality Law remains unchanged — on one nationality over the other. However, it is impossible to tell how she would perceive her identity when she reaches that age.
“In order for (my daughter) to embrace her international background as something to be proud of, I think it’s necessary that she be able to permanently keep her dual nationalities,” the mother said.

Experiment
Have you ever done something you clearly know isn’t meant for you? If yes, welcome to the club of Unlucky yet Brave Experimenters. UBE was a one member secret club for the longest time before the founder, me, dissolved it out of realization that life itself was about experimenting. But I could resurrect it and we can pretend to be the Illuminati or something.
My years of experimenting started long ago. I don’t know if we can count it, but I ate chalk when I was in kindergarten. In my head, I had eaten earth from the garden and it had tasted so rich. The texture was brilliant, and the color stuck to my fingertips. Some of the earth got under my nails and I could snack on that later. Chalk I thought was no different. But when I ate it, oh boy it tasted so much better! It even came in an easy stick format to break off into bites. My grandpa on my mother’s side looked amused every time I bounced up to him demanding slate chalk. I would always say it got over,  I’m studying well, or that my friends stole it from me. He willingly gave into my trickery till he caught me chewing on it while practicing my alphabets on the slate. I just couldn’t help it; I need to think and chewing chalk helped. After that, my grandpa made it a rule that I drink a glass of milk -- “she’s eating chalk because her body needs calcium.” he would scold my grandma like it was her duty to have figured this out before him.
Anyhoo, I kept UBE a secret affair. The caterpillar that just won’t float on water? I really thought they were capable of it. The dolls with eyes carved out and replaced with marble? Why was it creepy, she had beautiful eyes now. For a long time I stuck to things around me and it fueled my curiosity but I also got bored of it too soon. I gave it up  -- for the poor butterflies, the ants, and flowers that were getting tortured by me. My heart was a noble one. Head held high I went about life accepting things the way they were. Then I got the brilliant idea of experimenting with myself. The mission was simple; do one unexpected thing every day. What was I on the search for? The million different parts of me that make me who I am. It started with the coloring. My teachers in India complained that I might have an eye problem. “She is coloring roses blue and all.” I wish I can see their faces now when there’s not just blue but black roses as well. Ha! Then I thought why not fight for the things I believed in. I undid the red ribbon of a girl in class and when she yanked it from my hand, I yanked it back. It turned into a fight just like I expected and we stood on top of the benches and wrestled with each other. That experiment ended up with bruised elbows and a 100 ‘I am sorry’ on the blackboard. Damn that girl. I was just trying to see if I had a fighter in me. UBE would have to some basic rules that saved them from situations like this. Rule #1: If your experiment involves a person, an animal, a flower or any living thing… do not harm it. Fate will boomerang back. That left me the only choice of putting myself in awkward situations. After pre-school, mom would take about 2 hours to come pick me up. Her job was tricky. So I would play around, seesaw on my own or just sleep on benches. A light bulb went off in my head during one of those slumbers. Next day after I finished up, I climbed the stairs and sat inside the 5th grade class. The teacher didn’t object, the students welcomed me with open arms. Literally. They picked me up and took turns seating me on their lap. The blackboard swarmed with letters and symbols I didn’t understand but I stared at it fully in awe. In my eyes,  this experiment was a successful one. I would come back and wait right on time for mom to pick me up. I was so used to the routine that even the lunch my mom packed would be forgotten, eaten only minutes before she arrived. One unlucky day she caught me eating my lunch, which had kind of gotten spoilt in the summer heat, on the steps by myself. I looked super content, but my mom almost burst into tears. After that she got an aaya to pick me up right after school and keep me with her, make sure I was fed on time. Time for UBE to have another rule. Rule #2 - Tread with caution when there are moms involved. They have the power to banish all experiments.
With these two rules, I had my fill of experimenting without hurting anyone for years. Even in the US. Climbing trees, hanging like a bat, fries in my ice cream. Life was so rich when every day was a new affair. There was one time I took UBE to the next level. A midnight release of a new Harry Potter book was announced. There would be games and exciting gifts, almost the whole school was going. But I wasn’t a fan. I knew nothing the other potter heads knew. Rise to the experiment, oh brave one I told myself and dragged my mom with me. At the library every one had dressed up. Polaroids were being clicked. There were cauldrons with little wands. There was a line of people waiting to answer and get their prizes. I happily went and stood there. As my turn approached, I didn’t have the slightest fear that I wouldn’t be able to answer. The point wasn’t to win, it was to experiment. The lady at the counter asked me a question.
“What was the name of Ron’s brothers?” Um, no clue. I shook my head. The line behind me gasped. I heard them whisper that I didn’t know even the basics.
“Okay. Here’s an easy one, hon.” She asked me about the platform number. Someone in line even offered to answer for me. I shook my head again.
“I just wanted to know what the prize was, that’s all.” I said to her, shrugging my shoulders. She smiled and gave me one last questions.
“Who are Muggles?” I paused to give it a thought. The line was getting restless, they hated my guts. Well, everyone has to human right? Plus she used ‘who’.
“Humans?” I stated. Everyone broke into an applause and some even clapped me on my back. Well done they said. At least you know the difference between the wizard and the human world. I was just happy I get the gift. It was a pack of gummy worms. Aw man, really? Rule  #3: A smart experimenter assesses risks.
From there I went on try one thing after another. Spanish classes. Adding ‘ito’ to everything didn’t work so I stepped out of class. Bharatnatyam went on for a bit but Ballet was more fascinating. Swimming felt like I still needs to sprout some fins so I made a mental note to try it out later. Caramel apples. Plaster-of-Paris. Swinging from the door. They all went down in UBE’s history. I remember playing the piano for a recital. I practiced with a Casio keyboard at home and rendered the beautiful ‘To a wild rose’ by McDowell. Bach. Beethoven. It started getting too sad for some reason. Switch to something else. Karate. Held onto that till the gold belt and then tossed that away too. I was super restless. I was focused so much on getting my little feet into everything that I never stuck to anything for too long. What if I’m meant to do something more? Ice skating. The flute. Singing.  It was all a whirlwind when I look at it now. I don’t even know if I had a favorite hobby. Well, maybe climbing trees. But I couldn’t choose one. Too much experimenting. Rule #4: UBE practices a good interval between two experiments. To learn and experiment better in the future.
Somehow, on the way to India, I lost UBE. Maybe I packed it with the wrong boxes. Maybe I have to join another secret club when I land there. I knew it the minute cranberry juice was placed in front of me, a thousand feet above sea level. I didn’t feel like trying it out. What? That doesn’t normally happen. I tried to sleep it off. Then I blamed it on the jet lag. Then came the ‘national’ language called Hindi and what a horrible experiment. When my Principal, John Zachariah, admitted me in the middle of the year he asked me why I was hell bent on Hindi. Why not try French? “I am a secret experimenter” I whispered when my mom stood far, straining to hear what we were discussing. In a year, I changed that to Tamil, another experiment but a successful one at that. I tried my hand at throwball, loved the matches in the rain. For the sports day, I did the ridiculous thing of trying out for tug-o-war. Here was another joke -- this girl was underwait, a thin fragile thing and she fainted a lot. But when pitched with others at the tryout, I won all three. Pure bone weight. All those glasses of milk and chalk must have nursed my bones. The last significant thing I tried, apart from writing, was the National Cadet Corps. NCC in a lot of ways made me tougher, even thought I was just eyeing the 15% marks that would come out of it. On my first NCC camp, I tried a lot of new things and every night I would ache all over but feel intensely successful as a member of UBE. In the early morning jogs and yoga, I came to realize two things about me. I am not a morning person and Yoga made me sleeps. And just like that, I was able to draw observations about myself after every lab session. Even from the ones I think I would suck at the most. Rule #5 - When you’re unsure about it, that’s the UBE sixth sense telling you that you have to do it.
I have been following these rules for a long time now. I have surprised myself time and again with the things I set out to do. Solo travel. Tattoos. Gardening. Oh what the hell, even babysitting. And I think the only mistake one can make as a member of UBE is fearing the outcome. That gives birth to normalcy and monotony. The kind that makes you pick the same things from a menu, the same colors from the clothes aisle. Choose a heavier ball when you go bowling, take a different route to work, eat Doritos with chopsticks. Sometimes I’ve taken a chance on people too; meeting them once just to see how it goes. I love getting to know them and experimenting in understanding what I feel for them. Even if this goes against Rule#1, I know I wouldn’t harm them no matter what. I know to step back from there. One can argue that repetition of certain tasks and decisions forms tastes, styles, and shapes one’s personality. And I agree. Yes, comfort in the familiar is a safe thing, but then again as Tove Lo puts it, ‘If you had any flavor in the world, would you still choose vanilla?’

Day 3 Blog - Part 1
Tumblr media
So I saw my post 10 years ago, this includes my “cheating years” but I was single those months ( June 2011 - Feb 2012 - my single months lol)
This post has been taken from the song “Real Thing by Neyo”
“See I only want you, but he needs you, stay with the real thing”
I had a past lover she was taken , she fell in love with me, I fell in love with her also, (papano ka ba naman hindi maiinlove e, apaka ganda nya potangina tapos lagi kaming magkausap, after training nagkikita kami, saka siya naman talaga unang may gusto sa akin LUH PROUD YAN? HAHAHA) I didn’t know na may jowa siya, I’ve met her best friends SO AKALA KO, okay kami.
If you’ll hear that song the lyrics goes
“And I didn't feel bad about it till right then Had to remind her that we were just pretend
I said baby I want you, But he needs you Stay with the real thing I'll never love you like he'll“
SO ALAM KO SA SARILI KO NA KAHIT NA-INLOVE NA AKO DUN SA TAO, AT MUTUAL YUNG FEELINGS NAMIN DI KO KAYANG MANIRA NG RELASYON
Isipin mo naman years na sila, tapos dumating lang ako sa buhay nila na nagkakalabuan sila, eh natuwa sa akin si ate mo girl ( at malay ko bang may jowa, honest to goodness NO BS, di ko talaga alam) di ko kayang sikmurain yun na pipiliin nya ako over her jowa that time, di kaya ng conscience ko.
Nagusap din kami na tigilan namin yung sa amin, and lalayo na ako sa kanya, which I did, kahit naging mag classmate kami sa isang subject, di ko sila ginulo. NEVER. Tawang tawa sila, naging inside joke namin HAHAHA
There was a time na nakita ko sila magkasama sa school naglalakad pabalik ng school namin, then nasa yosihan ako, across the street, alam mo yun haha may kirot sa puso ko, pero alam kong tama yun ginawa ko, then her bestfriend came out of nowhere, nagyosi, inapproach ako sabi sa akin “awwww puta, mahal mo talaga siya noh?”
I said “oo, pero alam ko naman na tama yun ginawa ko, okay na yun basta maging masaya siya”
( ILANG BESES NA AKO NAGPAPAUBAYA POTANGINA TALAGA HAHAHAHHAHA)
Nagbreak sila after ilang months, then she called me Feb 2012, then we started talking again, kaso may thing na kami ng past girlfriend ko nun, tapos nabasa nun past girlfriend ko yun conversation namin sa FB ( wala pang messenger that time HAHAHA) ayun umiyak si ate mo girl past jowa ng grabeng todo na nagkulong sa CR, alam ko na sobrang nasaktan ko siya nung mga panahon na yun. so pinili ko padin si ate mo past jowa, kahit na alam kong gustong i-continue ni ate mo girl yun naudlot sa amin ( naisip ko din kasi na, kung kaya mong gawin yun sa past jowa mo, na years kayo, what more sa akin? na baka na overwhelmed ka lang - LOL SEE MAY TRUST ISSUES NA AKO NOON PA)
Hindi na ulit kami pinagtagpo ng tadhana. HAHAHA pota.
PARANG TELESERYE/ WATTPAD SERIES TALAGA YUN LOVELIFE KO PUTA.
Actually here’s a mini part 2 about sa “stay with the real thing” ay actually ibang song na pala siya HAHA “hardest thing-98 degrees”
“We both know that I shouldn't be here This is wrong
This was 2013. Nun kami na ni ate past jowa, nagkaron ako ng ka something, na which is taken din siya, ( as told nga these were my “gago years” ). She was pretty din kasi, a week na may something sa amin, umamin ako sa past jowa ko about my affair, kasi nga di din kaya ng conscience ko talaga.
Although pinili ako ni girl over her jowa that time, di ko siya pinili.
The lyrics goes like:
I've made up my mind There is no turning back She's been good to me And she deserves better than that
I can't let you see what you mean to me When my hands are tied and my hearts not free
LOL
Karma or God’s justice really hits you 10x back yun na lang masasabi ko.
It was just a trial pero syempre immature pa ako and very unstable, nagpapadala ako sa mga nararamdaman ko back then.
so read  my PART 2 - DAY 3 BLOG sa sobrang dami kong thoughts tonight

Unveiling the Humorous Veil: Double Meaning Jokes in Hindi
This evolution ensures their relevance in a rapidly changing world, where humor serves as a timeless bridge between generations.

When Xu Ting came back from the army, she found out that her boyfriend and her best friend had an affair behind her back. She had no face left!
She immediately went racing and fell from the steep mountain and died. But she did not expect that she would actually be reincarnated to Dayan Dynasty, where women were superior to men. Women were the breadwinners, and men were meant to take care of the house.
Wasn’t this just right?
Men were virtuous and beautiful, gentle and small, more likable. If she chose a man, she would love him wholeheartedly, he would rely on her unconditionally and they would never betray each other.
Du Siyin’s life is like a joke. He is obviously the legitimate son, but he is not as good as the bastard son. His father died early, his mother did not like him, and even his servants were sarcastic and negligent towards him. He is obviously virtuous and beautiful. He is good at piano, chess, calligraphy, needlework and poetry. He was graceful and refined. But even after all this, his fiancee broke off their engagement and instead pursued the son of an ugly and unrefined merchant. He had become a joke among the noble sons of the capital. He was unmarried at the age of nineteen and was maliciously speculated against by countless people.
At the end of the summer of the fifteenth year of Wenqi, the Queen of Zhenbian returned to Beijing, and Xu Ting, the Princess of Zhenbian, who was the dream candidate of countless sons, appeared before anyone. But Du Siyin had a dead heart and did not have any hopes of having a better life.
Who knew how, but this big pie fell on his head!
Once the marriage was bestowed, and a good relationship was formed, Xu Ting treated Du Siyin with a gentleness that the world would be jealous of.

In the world were the roles are reversed.
A world were woman rule over.
A world where men are oppressed
In ancient times were the history are twisted.
A love will blossom.
A love between a transmigrator named Xu ting.
And a beautiful flower name Di Siyin
In their difficult time
How will their love prevail?
Ugh!! I surrender! Ang corny talaga (ノ_ _)ノ
***
Let just move on to today's featured novel "If The World Sees Gentleness" by author Shēn Lín.
Gaya nga ng sabi ko the settings of the story happen in a fantasy world in ancient times. It happens in the Dayan Dynasty period where woman dominated the nation and has the upper hand. While men are treated and seen likes dolls, whose only purpose was to obey and to be pretty.
Much like in the real world but in reverse.
But, from what I can see. I can tell that it’s a very heartwarming and fluffy story.
Xu Ting and Du Siyin the couple here, is sweet and loving towards each other. Despite the arrange marriage between them, they still have a very healthy relationship, and they both love each other genuinely. It’s very refreshing to see, and I kinda wish na nag focus pa ng kaonti yung novel sa pag developed ng relationship nila.
Another thing that I really like about this novel is the role-reversal part. But, I still enjoy it nontheless.
* * * *
Ⓔ︎Ⓝ︎Ⓓ︎Ⓘ︎Ⓝ︎Ⓖ︎ Ⓝ︎Ⓞ︎Ⓣ︎Ⓔ︎:
Before I forgot to mention. This world also switches the sex organs, and made mpreg canon. I don't know kung anong nakain ni Author at pinagpalit niya ang keneme ng babae at lalaki sa nobela niya, or kung anong purpose non, dahil hindi niya rin naman in-emphasize sa novel... So who knows?  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The Unique Indian Wedding Rituals You Didn’t Know About!
Tumblr media
India, being a home to diverse cultures and religions, has their weddings just as unique as their people. The whole Indian wedding affair signifies elaborate display of rituals, customs, and traditions. If you ever happen to visit India to attend a traditional Hindu wedding, you’ll see what I mean here. Average Indian wedding rituals last for around four to five days with each day filled with pre-wedding ceremonies before the D-Day!
Not just is an Indian wedding the scared union of two loving hearts but also a lifetime bond between two families. So the wedding scene in India usually starts with the boy’s or girl’s families finding the potential match for their kids and finalizing on the chosen one. Before the main wedding day, a number of pre-wedding preparations are taken into consideration like preparing bride’s trousseau, shopping for fineries, amassing gifts for the groom’s family, selecting the wedding venue, and getting the guests invited through a formal wedding invite.
Let me take you through inside a North India wedding ceremony rituals and traditions right from the start.

Engagement Ceremony
The vibrancy, rituals, and traditions imitated by an Indian wedding is usually seen nowhere around the globe. The Engagement Ceremony or Ring Ceremony in India is a pre-wedding ceremony wherein the soon-to-wed couple exchange rings with a lifetime promise to share every sorrow and joy with one another. It is believed that the theme of the engagement is influenced by the western culture while some are of the opinion that the Indian wedding scenario witnessed a greater impact post the advent of British Rule in India.
Engagement Ceremony in India has vivid names; some call it Misri, while the others call it Ashirbad. On the day of the ceremony, bride’s and groom’s families meet and bless the couple to seek marital bliss ahead. The girl and boy then exchange rings pledging to be united in both good and bad times. The grand event is followed by bride’s and groom’s family exchanging gifts while the groom’s family gift some gold ornaments (particularly traditional and ancestral) to the girl. Not just this event is a start of the life-time bond between the two souls but also a relatively good chance for families to know each other.

Mehendi Ceremony
Deriving its roots from the traditional Indian customs, the Mehendi Ceremony is a fun-filled affair celebrated by the bride’s family. In this ceremony, the bride’s hands and feet are adorned with henna in beautiful and intricate designs. The mehendi is a henna paste that’s diluted in water and kept overnight to use for the deep color effect.
The complete ritual of Mehendi ceremony is auspicious and symbolic of the girl’s husband love for her if the mehendi leaves a deep red-black color on her palms. The ceremony has a mehendi expert called specially to decorate the bride’s palms and of the other ladies in the family. It is usually followed by a lot of merriment where in the ladies sing folk songs, dance, and give their blessings to the bride.
The charming factor about this entire ceremony is its vibrant color theme. Usually the bride dresses up in shades of green or yellow that’s symbolic of mehendi. In some parts of the country, the mehendi a bride adorns her hands with, is usually sent by the groom’s family along with sweets and other gifts. Another custom associated with Mehendi ceremony is that the girl has to have the bride’s and groom’s pictures on her palms as it’s considered very auspicious. Also, post-wedding, the bride isn’t permitted to do any household chores until her mehendi is washed away.

Sangeet Ceremony
Sangeet ceremony in India are one of the most sought-after pre-wedding ceremonies where the bride and groom’s families and extended families sing, dance, rejoice, and merrymaking. Sangeet ceremony is usually celebrated at the crack of dusk, after mehendi ceremony. The women of the family gather around the bride and sing traditional songs, dance on folk tunes, and tease the bride by cracking jokes about her would-be-husband.
Many wedding planners swear by the concept of Sangeet ceremony, primarily prevalent in North India but now a favorite of all around India, saying it adds the fun and frolic dimension to any wedding. The new-age Indian weddings have elaborate Sangeet ceremonies where the bride’s and groom’s love life is enacted through different role plays and their story is told in a musical manner. The dances are usually well choreographed and practiced for long before the actual ceremony.
The music played in Sangeet ceremony ranges from traditional, folk, Bollywood, Bhangra, Hindi pop, and more. A professional DJ is hired to make the occasion more lively and thumping. The vibrant song and dance is followed by elaborate dining arrangements. Sangeet ceremony in India combines the distant relatives together under one roof and that speaks highly of the strong sense of bonding among Indian families.

Wedding Ceremony
The day of wedding ceremony in India is filled with multiple traditions and rituals, each having their own symbolic role and significance. Saat pheras or Sapt Padi is the most crucial part of the entire wedding ceremony where the bride and groom take seven rounds and exchange wedding vows to enter in a blissful marital life together. Each phera or round has its own significance and a promise that bride and groom do to each other.
The whole ambience reeks of purity and divineness with mantras of love, commitment, and loyalty being chanted by everyone. The elaborate and time-consuming Indian wedding ceremonies are no doubt the best thing to see in India while you’re on a holiday in India. All pre and wedding ceremonies are performed as per Hindu traditions and norms with each having its own twist in every state. The bride, this day, is dressed in her best traditional fineries like an Indian lehenga choli or saree in bright and auspicious red or green colors. She is adorned with the typical “Solah Shringaar” with bindi, bangles, and traditional gold jewellery, make-up, and toe rings.
After the saat pheras, the groom puts a bright red line of vermillion on the bride’s forehead and ties mangalsutra around her neck as a mark of being married. The wedded couple then seeks blessings from the elders in the family to chalk on their journey of a new married life together.

Vidaai Ceremony
Indian wedding traditions and ceremonies are so overwhelming with the diverse range of customs and beliefs that they come with. Indian Vidaai ceremony symbolizes the end of wedding ceremonies where the emotions run high. Vidai ceremony marks the departure of bride from her parents’ family to enter into her husband’s house after tying the knot.
Vidai ceremony in India is an occasion of both sorrow and joy for bride’s and groom’s family. Bride’s family, at one side, is sentimental to give away their girl’s hand in marriage and asking for a promise of lifetime from the groom to love, protect, and care for her for the lifetime. While on the other side, the groom’s family is all joyful and ecstatic on welcoming a new member to the clan. As the bride leaves from her family house, she hugs her friends and family and touches her elder’s feet to seek blessings.
As she steps out of her house’s entrance, she throws back the handful of rice over her head and her brothers collect them at the back as a sign of wealth and opulence later. This custom signifies that she is paying back everything, in the form of blessings; whatever her parents have given her all these years. In the final stages, when the bride and groom sit in the car decorated with flowers, the brothers of the bride give a push to the car meaning that they have given her a push ahead in their new life. In many cases, the elder or younger sibling of the bride accompanies her to her new home for moral support.

Post Wedding Ceremonies
After Vidaai ceremony, when the bride takes the road to her husband’s house after leaving from her parents’ family, she is welcomed whole-heartedly to her new adobe. The elderly lady in the groom’s family welcomes the new bride along with her groom by putting some mustard oil at the corners of the entrance door. A pot filled with rice is kept at the entrance and the bride has to gently kick that with her right feet to spread the rice on the floor. This ceremony is called “Greh Pravesh” and is quite significant in a newly wedded girl’s life as she is considered Goddess Lakshmi as per Indian traditions.
Thereafter, she dips both her feet in the water filled with deep red vermillion (Alta) and steps on the floor, making her foot steps as a sign of auspicious entrance. She is greeted by her sister or mother in law with a plate filled with incense sticks, flowers, rice, and tilak and a small aarti (worship) is performed to ward off evils off her head. Dwar-Rokai is another fun ceremony performed by the younger sister in law of the bride where in the couple can only enter the house after giving some money or gifts to her.
Then comes the “Mooh Dikhai”! The bride is introduced to all family members and relatives of the groom’s house and each member offers the bride some gift or the other, as a welcome gesture. The gift can be a holy book like Ramayana, ancestral jewellery, clothes, or money. The groom’s family members then go on to play some fun-filled welcome games with the bride to let her arrival be on a cheerful note.

How to be single?
SI baby girl Jhuniper 6 years na single yan.
PAANO BA MAGING SUPER DUPER SINGLE? May hihigit pa ba sa single? Meron! SUPER single!
Cheers to you my friend sa pagiging consistent.
I think talent yan. Walang ibang nakakgawa niyan. Ikaw lang!
Yung iba diyan nagaassume na in a relationship kahit single, pero ikaw, talagang S I N G L E.
Single by choice. Yung iba, single kasi... no choice.
Wala kang naloloko dito.
Ah! may isa pang extreme end! Yung ginagamit yung pagiging single as a license to flirt and flirt and flirt. EXTREME yun! Yan yung masyadong malayang mamili. Serial dater. Magagaling mang ghost. hmm may potential to be the next Casper the friendly ghost, PH edition.
Ang dami daming benefits ng pagiging single. Teka build up ko muna yung topic kasi naniniwala akona single season is a season of opportunity. GIFT yan Beverly! Receive it!
Una, FREEDOM. There’s a lot of freedom in being single. In terms of freedom to spend your time and your finances. Di mo iniiisip yung obligation mo sa isang partner.
Another is MOBILITY. Nakakagala ka. Walang permission to ask (maliban syempre sa magulang. Magpaalam ka, toy! Honor your parents) Di mo nakailangan mag chat ng “Beh! Basketball lang ako.” o kaya “Beh! ML lang ako”. Pwede ka magtravel. Build up mo IG feed mo para kunware cool kid ka ganon.
Isa pa yung  YOU’RE SINGLE AND SATISFIED IN SERVING.
IT’S THE BEST TIME TO BE ACTIVELY WAITING IN POSITIONING YOURSELF. Kung dati hindi ka maka score samga crush mo, now is the best time! Maging best version ka ng sarili mo. Have confidence and gawin mo lahat ng mgahindi mo nagagawa noon.
Yung iba nga naglo-long maging single.
May tinatawag naman tayong Me Time. Pwede mo gawin mga hobbies mo nung single ka, maghike ka with friends or do things na dating ginagawa mo like magluto ka naman sa bahay or tulungan mo maglaba nanay mo.
SO PAANO MO BA GAGALINGAN MAGING SINGLE?
Know yourself. YAAAAAN! Minsan kasi kapag wala kang self-awareness, you tend to fake things.
Lawakan mo ang network mo. ito na yung best time mo to know people. Make new friends sa community or sa business. Expand mo network mo. BUILD BRIDGES. Not necessarily the same, but may heart sila sa ginagawa nila. May tinatawag tayong chemistry and compatibility.
It’s time to heal. Siguro single ka ngayon dahil sa decision you made before or someone’s decision at naging single ka nanaman, USE THIS SEASON TO HEAL. Hurting people hurts people. Wag ka magmdali dahil pokmaru ka. May inner wounds ka from previous relationship or family or affairs, gamitin mo yung singleness mo. It’s a good space to heal. Nako beshywap! dangerous yan! Kaya nga BREAK eh. So break talaga! Break all the cycle of hurt ganon. Don’t feed that ego, Jhuniper. Edi cycle of hurt na nangyare. Whoo nakakpagod yan. Haha kidding aside, gamitin mo yung season na to heal. GRIEVE WELL, EVALUATE THEN MAYBE RECALIBRATE. Gamitin mo yung mga skills na natutunan mo while healing.
Singleness is the best time to invest sa family mo. Tandaan mo, as you’re getting older, your parents gets older too.
It’s time to develop yourself. Single season is not a wasted season. It’s a season of waiting, developing AND positioning. Yaaaan! Napakalawak ng scope nito. Pwedeng i-develop mo emotions mo, physical strengths mo or intellectually maginvest ka sa mga new learnings ng mundo. Pwede rin social life mo. Magexercise ka. Kunware yung abs mo nasa muka mo, pababain mo. BE EMOTIONALLY MATURE. Sabi nga nila diba before finding the right one, BE the right one and ito na ang oras mo to build yourself. Para sa mga bagets, ang value is how people perceive you. What can you bring to the table? Don’ t put your life on hold Beverly ah. BE ACTIVELY WAITING.
Mabuti nang wala, kaysa mali.
Explore how you can manage your finances well. Ito naangbest time for you to invest, save and think of the future. Maging wise sa pag-gastos. Di puro Add to cart tuwing kinsenas. Mag-ipon ka na Beverly. Sabi nga nila, “It’s not about how much you have but how you spend it’. Ang daming time to think of how you can use your money wisely. Okay lang to plurge to things you like. Pero again, BE WISE. Wag mo i-pressure sarili mo na at this age dapat may kotse, bahay, condo or lupa ka na. This season is the best time for you na isipin kung saan mo ba talaga gusto ilagay pera mo. Magandang tip diyan is keep a record of the things you buy. Kahit resibo ipunin mo para alam mo kung saan mo binababa yung pera mo every month. DISCIPLINE is needed when money talks. Make it a habit. Ang gastos kaya pumasok sa relationship! Isipin mo, magkano na milk tea ngayon? 120-170? Nagrequest pa si girly ng extra pearls, plus 25! At kailangan prepared ka dahil magiinvest ka talaga sa relationship.
At syempre Master, Mission before Mate. Syempre everyone of us is looking for romance to fill our heart’s desire. Deep inside talaga may void eh. Kaya sa iba, singleness is lonliness  pero HINDI PU. Singleness is a gift.  Sabi nga nila, lahat tayo naglo-long for something higher than us or deeper relationship. Ang tanong lang is, Who is your Master? Sino nagcoconsume sa heart mo? sa mind mo? That’s your master. Yung iba money, or romantic relationship, or maybe career. So kung ano man yung nagcoconsume sa heart mo. What is your Mission? Anong purpose mo? Yung iba ang tawag diyan is “the Calling”. Yung deep inside alam mo na you are called to do this. Find something you are passionate about. Kunware passion mo mag cross-stitch, go! So.. ayun no? bago ka maghanap ng mate, alamin mo muna kung sino Master mo. Si Lord ba yan? or some idols like money? Yan kasi magdedetermine ng magiging life mo. Yan yung master na will love you back. Ayaan! Leading a life na katuwang mo yung master mo in hardhsips and achievements. Tapos yung mission mo is kung saan ka mag-grow sa buhay na to. Ang hirap mabuhay na you’re doing the things you do as a JOB and not as a CALLING. So alamin mo kung saan ka ba masaya. Tapos kapag alam mo na yung master ng life mo and yung mission mo, eventually yung Mate will come along. NATURAL NA YAN. Nasa frontline na yan. Nasa mission ka na eh. You’re doing what you are called for and it will just follow.
Ayun so BE HAPPY BEING SINGLE. Okay? Okay. Yun lang.
