Post s3e6 what happens now?
I am begining to write an 'after' fic which has brought up a lot of questions and speculation that I'd like to share. Yes willmon is endgame but also where do they go from here?
Class
Money (what are the Erikssons doing with their money from August?)
The rift between Wille’s elitist upbringing and Simon’s economical and political beliefs
Wille needs to learn and figure out what he wants his relationship with politics and money to be
Abdication
Wille is giving up the crown but he now has to go through that process
Official meetings
What is his new title going to be
What money does he have not has Crown Prince
The official statement of abdication and handing the duty to August
Figuring out the PR strategy for this as well
Wille isn’t free automatically he is going to price for a little while longer while they introduce August more prominently to the public so that the crown isn’t handed off to seemingly a stranger
They also have to figure out a way to make sure it is clear that this is a choice Wille made for himself rather than because of his very publicised relationship
Making sure there won’t be speculation that he is leaving voluntarily because the Swedish monarchy doesn’t want a queer monarchy because that would be a media shitstorm
School
Where is Wille going to school? And Simon?
Even with abdication he is still a part of the Swedish aristocracy would he go to another posh school?
I think not with everything that happened at Hilerska but its also the thing he knows, so how does he figure that out?
Where does Simon go? He wouldn’t want to go to another rich kid school
Will they go to school together?
If so what interest will their classmates take in them, how would they maintain their privacy
Even apart what would their privacy look like
What would their relationship look like if they do decide to not go to school together?
Same questions for Felice and Sara because they also have to go to school they are all children and education is very important lol
Familial relations
Wille and his parents need to repair their relationship
Do Simon and Sara start working on a better relationship Micke?
I want Wille to get to meet Micke I think that interaction would be great
Public relations
Yes they are free but sadly the public doesn’t entirely care
Luckily on an international scale the Swedish monarchy doesn’t hold much attention but maybe that has changed since Wille’s scandals and then open queer relationship? This is never addressed in the show
But amongst Swedes especially after abdication people will have a vested interest
Think Harry and Megan (obvs the UK royals are a much bigger scale but the point stands)
Like people still really care what they're up to, and Megan and Simon have those similar experiences of being a poc partner of a european royal family member, the harassment doesn’t suddenly stop once you've left the direct limelight of royal life
Platonic relationships
What is Wille’s relationship with Rosh and Ayub?
They have witnessed every thing that Simon has gone through because of his relationship with Wille and now they are back together again
They do respect him because of his choice to leave the monarchy, they are maybe not even surprised because they did witness the “I could be free with you” speech
But do they trust him?
On that note does Linda? She definitely cares for Wille but she also knows how this has affected her son.
Does Wille have to prove his intentions and himself?
Can he Rosh and Ayub truly form a friendship? How will that happen
Simon, Wille, Sara, and Felice have forged their own kind of found family through shared traumas and love for one another, how to Rosh and Ayub fit into that new dynamic? Will there be conflict because of this?
What does a friend group consisting of all of them look like?
Other than mega gay

Everything will be all right in the end; so if it is not all right, it is not yet the end.
Oscar Wilde
Just a reminder that, however YR S3 ends, whether Wilmon are together or not, whether Wille renounces the throne or not, their life doesn't end with the series.
They are only 17/16, they still have their whole life in front of them. Everything can still change for the better. Nothing is decided, not yet, and not after s3e6.
We don't know what happens after the series, but the characters are out there, in our hands. We can write and imagine how their life is going to be. We can decide what is going to happen to them. They are fictional characters, which means they belong to us fans and we it is up to us what is going to happen to them.
Their story isn't over after season 3. They will be endgame, because I say so. Because WE want them to be.
Maybe they'll break up at the end of the series. So what? They still have 2 years at Hillerska, they still have time when they're going to uni and afterwards. That's plenty of time to figure their shit out and to get back together.
WILMON WILL BE ENDGAME.
PERIOD.

I was rewatching TDP and in s3e6 Avizandum says to Viren and Harrow that he'll spare their life 'cause that day was a day of life
Tumblr media
Avizandum: today is a special day. Today is a day of life.
Why would he say that? He could've avoided all those sentences and just said he'll forgive them 'cause he wasn't in the mood to kill.
But he emphasizes it's a day of life. What if Zym's egg was due to hatch on that day? The weather seemed stormy enough.
If Harrow and Viren had arrived at least a day after, I'm sure the story would've changed because maybe by then Zym would have been already born
And what if they even arrived a week later? Would The Dragon Guard still be there? I don't think so.
Tumblr media
Lain tells Rayla they will return when the egg is hatched. They wouldn't need to stay longer.
If Harrow and Viren had been a day later, maybe Zym could've been born. If they'd been a week after or so, maybe Rayla's parents would have been with her

Oh, this is Raxus. I think.
Ayyy, Riyo Chuchi.
Senators going behind the Empire's back >>>
The music playing over the assassin's scene just now. My man is sneaking around and fucking dedicated.
Oop. Been spotted.
Nice defense squad, Rex!
Damnnn, they caught that assassin fast. Not Tech. Buttttt, we are missing trailer scenes of one of these assassins, so there's probably at least one more.
BASE CAMP IS ON FUCKING TETH. I recognized Teth in the trailer, but I did not fucking expect the clones to make a base where one of their first battles was 😭
Ayyy, no suicide for you, Mr. Assassin.
"Listen, no matter what they did to you, no matter what you've done, you're still a clone. Still one of us." Goddammit, I love this man. I am so not ready to see him spiral and go to Seelos.
Oooh, here's another assassin. First time we've heard one of 'em speak through the helmet.
Oops, the ssassins are all after Omega.
Whoa, Howzer, chill out. Not wrong, though, Crosshair is one of the only people to escape Tantiss.
OMEGA HAS A TOOTHPICK.
Rex, I miss your pauldron so bad right now.
Rip Ryloth squad.
Damnn, Echo got Omega a little crossbow. Neat. What happened to her actual bow?
Assassin #3 has landed. Idk, something tells me if any of them is Tech, it's this guy.
It's hilarious to me how Rex is the only one there who's heard of M-counts.
No one: / Fireball: "Chow time!"
"Being defective is in my nature." Hits damn hard after everything this man's been through.
The fear in Crosshair's voice when he found out that an assassin's been captured. 😭
Welp, and now Mr. Assassin #3 knows that they- and Omega- are there, that's nice. Shitttt, he called it in.
THE ASSASSIN RECOGNIZES CROSS.
HE CALLED HIM BROTHER.
DON'T TELL ME HE'S A REVIVED MAYDAY OR SOMETHING.
Dude, I thought Rex just got shot for a fucking second. Why do I still live in fear for his life knowing he makes it to Rebels?????
Rip Assassin #2.
Noooo, Fireballlllllllllll. 😭
Ayyy, there's Wolffe.
DAMN, THEY REVEALED WOLFFE AND JUST CUT, OKAY, DAVE.

thoughts/headcanons on ben hargreeves and the jennifer incident:
(mentions of suicide ahead)
from the beginning i've thought umbrella ben's death was something along the lines of a suicide/sacrifice. he was on a mission that went wrong (hence reginald berating the other umbrellas for their failure at the funeral), and he made a last stand to give others a chance to escape/survive. he set the horror free, and he was tired of running, tired of going through life being afraid of himself, so when the horror devoured every one of their enemies ben let them devour him too
i don't know exactly what jennifer meant to ben, but i do believe she was someone key he tried to save. who knows if he succeeded or not, but she was the specific person umbrella ben was trying to keep alive when he died
the jennifer incident, based on sparrow ben's reaction to luther mentioning it in s3e6, was a constant in both timelines. it's a major point where umbrella ben and sparrow ben diverge as characters; obviously sparrow ben survived and umbrella ben didn't, but i believe that's because where umbrella ben didn't run, sparrow ben did and prioritized his own life. jennifer died in place of him
and her death haunts him. almost every drawing we see in sparrow ben's room is of her (i would like to think his facial scar is a result of that mission and that he's faced with a reminder of it every time he looks in the mirror, but based on the flashbacks ithe timeline doesn't quite work out)
i think the jennifer incident definitely changed sparrow ben's personality as well. based on the way he interacts with sloane, the way she speaks to him and grabs his hands with familiarity in s3e8, and how ben talks to fei and christopher, i believe he used to be closer to his siblings than he is in the present day even if he was still always snippy and a bit of an asshole
but after the jennifer incident, ben was demoted from his number one rank and was left with a failure he couldn't shake off. so he devoted his life to and put everything he could into being a better fighter, better sparrow, someone he thought was worthy of being a team leader again. that resulted in ben isolating himself from the others though, operating as if he was above them and causing the sparrows to dislike him which only widened that gap
and that alienation of his family, in the process of choosing to define himself only by his status and reginald's approval and shedding the rest, is what leads to ben declaring '[he] has nothing else' to sloane in their conversation before her wedding. he's stranded and clinging to a construct that doesn't matter to anyone else because it's all he's come to know
(klaus, klaus was the one who started to break sparrow ben out of that box, an arc that i hope will be continued. but i'll save those thoughts for another time)
in the future, i would hope to see flashbacks to the jennifer incident and how it went down in both timelines, see the parallels and what changed
perhaps sparrow ben gets a dream flashback, in which he saves jennifer like he thinks he should've done and regrets not doing. maybe he even goes so far as to imagine himself giving his life for hers, before waking up and realizing that that's what the other ben did, and remembering how much it destroyed the umbrellas
and that's a step toward moving on from the past, and accepting the decisions ben made then don't have to chain him now because whatever happened, he's alive now and he can try to change for the better alongside people who genuinely want him and could accept him as family if he chooses them

Ted Lasso S3e6: Sunflowers
Alright, y’all can have a go at me for being a skeptic but I walked into season 3 every time thinking “Where the hell is this going?” Cause Love and Thunder let me down after Ragnarok and Loki Phase 4 was a let down, and GoT, HIMYM, I could go on but it breaks my heart. But fuck me head man! I should trust these folks with my life! The magic of S1 and S2 was something but I’m still sitting here smiling like an idiot, singing 🎶don’t worry, it will be alright🎶. Anyway, sorry for the rant :) Just some stuff I thought about while watching S3e6 (spoilers?)
I was thinking I'm going to need more than one episode to convince me of Rebecca and boat man. Kinda glad it was only for one ep. Did anybody spot the GREEN BOX?
There was one bed in Ted and Beard's room...
I love Coach Beard!
Placebo High Ted was fun. Weird, but like the Christmas episode where Ted's moustache fell off kind of weird.
I love Coach Beard!!
There is so much potential for Ao3 people out there, don't let me down. TedBeard, TrentxColin, RoyxJamie, TedBecca, JackxKeeley, even a glimpse of hope out there for fellows RoyKeeley, etcccccc.
I love Coach Beard!!!
I want what Trent Crimm is wearing.
Anybody saw that loving look Beard gave Ted at the end of the episode? Or am I just being too much of a stan?
I just love the wholesome team bonding moment so much 🥰

Henry is yeeted into the Upside Down in 1979
Time freezes in the Upside Down the same day Will vanishes, Nov 6 1983
Henry explicitly states he loathes the very concept of time:
“You see, humans are a unique type of pest, multiplying and poisoning our world, all while enforcing a structure of their own. A deeply unnatural structure. Where others saw order, I saw a straitjacket. A cruel, oppressive world.
Seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years, decades.
Each life a faded, lesser copy of the one before. Wake up, eat, work, sleep, reproduce, and die. Everyone is just waiting. Waiting for it all to be over. All while performing in a silly, terrible play, day after day. I could not do that. I could not close off my mind and join in the madness. I could not pretend. And I realized I didn't have to. I could make my own rules. I could restore balance to a broken world. A predator...but for good.”
- S4E7 Henry Creel/Vecna “Chapter 7: Hawkins Lab Massacre”
One of the many questions around Vecna is what the hell was he doing all this time. For starters, personally I think the Mind Flayer is the Big Bad and Vecna is the Dragon. Again this goes back to Henry’s lil monologue to El.
“I found a nest of black widows living inside a vent. Most people fear spiders. They detest them. And yet, I found them endlessly fascinating. More than that, I found a great comfort in them. A kinship. Like me, they are solitary creatures. And deeply misunderstood. They are gods of our world. The most important of all predators. They immobilize and feed on the weak, bringing balance and order to an unstable ecosystem. But the human world was disrupting this harmony.”
- S4E7 Henry Creel/Vecna “Chapter 7: Hawkins Lab Massacre”
The Mind Flayer is basically exactly what he’s talking about here. When he gets there Henry is char broiled. He needs time to recover and likely the Mind Flayer, seeing how he has use and their philosophies align helped that along somehow even if it was something as minor as keeping the hivemind hordes off him. Also Eleven, a human, has disrupted the normal ecosystem of the Upside Down by sending Henry there. She has opened a door to a new place, she has meddled with the world beyond the veil of structured reality. She has unintentionally brought the attention of metaphorical the old ones back onto our plane and there’s consequences to that. She introduced a foreign body to their mycelium network and now they’re going to introduce their world into ours.
“You let us in. And now you are going to have to let us stay. Don't you see? All this time. we've been building it. We've been building it... for you. All that work, all that pain, all of it for you. And now it's time. Time to end it. And we are going to end you. And when you are gone, we are going to end your friends. And then we are going to end... everyone.”
- S3E6 Flayed!Billy "Chapter Six: E Pluribus Unum"
Also the things the Mind Flayer and Vecna want to achieve take time. Time is Henry’s enemy. He doesn’t believe in time. I’m not clear why yet the halting of time in the Upside Down is linked to the Day of Will’s disapparence/El’s escape but if Vecna’s somehow involved I won’t be shocked.
It’s advantageous for Vecna to live in a space without time. It makes him effectively immortal which is a bonus to his and the Mind Flayers plans.
Also, related to why on earth the Mind Flayer would keep Vecna alive in the first place. In stories like this where people travel between dimensions or time they sometimes need an object from their world, perhaps shared with someone on the other side, to link them back to their original world. Or alternatively they themselves are a connection to their own world/time since they’re an inherent part of that reality.
The Mind Flayer is some kind of eldritch entity not at all native to our reality. Despite it’s power or because of its nature/powerset it cannot create gates on its own. Possibly it’s because The Mind Flayer is more on the telepathic end while people like Vecna and Eleven are more on the telekinetic end.
Vecna is originally from the earth dimension and has COMICAL telekinetic powers and wants to be a predator who weeds out the weak. He’s perfect to keep around. He’s an incredibly valuable asset. Likely for some of this time he’s been merging with the Upside Down and getting his barrings. Then they sent out their first exploratory missions (s1 demogorgon, s2 demodogs) and spies (Will’s possession). Then they sent out a first assault (Flayed Billy and the Spider Monster). It might not even be the first real assault on our front line, it might just be another tactic tester. Vecna entering the ring and opening up more points for attack certainly feels like the Upside Down has moved on to less exploratory attacks and more of a real beginning of a war.

That My Days Have Been A Dream
Day 24
DAY 24 Title: I dream of you, to wake -C Rossetti Prompt: "I Don't Want To Do This Anymore" s3e6 Snakebite
The day Roy had brought him home from the hospital after that damned snake bite should have been the happiest day of his life. He'd watched with curiosity as Roy carried a suitcase and duffel through the door.
"She knows." He said.
And just like that, all his dreams came true. Roy was his completely, to live with, work with, love.
It was the worst, most sickening, gut wrenching feeling in the world.
Roy watched the play of emotions on Johnny’s face. Love to elation to horror, finally setting on nauseous, which left him confused.
Johnny stared at the bags on the floor and turned away. He paced to the end of the room and back, his hand in his hair.
"Roy," His broken voice was rough as he laid a shaking hand on Roy’s cheek. The shattered look in Johnny’s eyes made Roy want to throw his arms around his lover and hold on until the strength of his arms and the warmth of his love fused Johnny back together again.
"Roy, you can't pick me, Pally. You just can't."
"The choice has been made, Junior."
Johnny shook his head.
"You have too much to lose. I'm…"
Roy stopped Johnny’s mouth with his own, kissing him until the rigid body in his arms became his pliant, supple lover once again.
"I love you, John Gage. You."
"You love your children. Your wife. You have to go back." Johnny said, removing himself from Roy's embrace.
Roy pulled him back and held him gently.
"I love you." He repeated. "Let's just have today. Let's celebrate you being alive. Just give me that."
They made love after that. It was slow and it was beautiful, and it was carved into their hearts and memories.
And the one day turned into more days, and the days into weeks, and the weeks turned into a month.
Roy was happier than he'd ever been, but he missed his kids, and was starting to be eaten up by guilt. Johnny knew, but every time he gently urged him to return to his family, Roy just clung tighter to them.
Johnny knew this was going to destroy him, but he was no more able to end things than Roy.
So he treasured the time they had, falling asleep next to Roy, with nothing between them but their own skin. Waking in the morning with Roy in his arms. Meals together. Loafing on the couch in the evenings together. Hell. He even enjoyed the little squabbles they'd get into.
He stored the memories up, hoping he'd have enough to last a lifetime, half suspecting Roy was doing the same thing.
Earlier, as he was returning from picking up a few groceries, he'd found Roy outside leaning against the railing of the walkway, watching some kids play. The look on his face was a complex mix of emotions that broke Johnny’s heart. He opened his mouth to encourage Roy, once again, to return to his family, but the words wouldn't come.
So he simply walked past his lover into his apartment to put things away. He was almost done when arms encircled him. He turned and buried his face in the crook of Roy's neck.
"We can't keep going like this Roy." His voice was thick.
"I promised you I'd hold you forever, John."
"You can." Johnny said as he pulled away. "Hold me here."
He placed his hand on Roy’s heart. Roy gazed at him for a long moment before leaning in and kissing him softly.
"What's for dinner?" He asked.
Johnny lay awake in Roy's arms long into the night that night, cataloging the sound of Roy's breathing, the feel of his skin, the thrum of his heart, his warmth. He was so happy he ached. But he knew they were beginning to unravel.
Roy's breathing turned into the sighing of a warm breeze through bright green leaves. Johnny watched as they sparkled and swayed against the blue sky. Blue like home. Blue like Roy's eyes.
He heard the sound of laughter and turned.
They were in the park playing tag, the sun bright and high overhead. Johnny paused briefly to admire Roy, as laughing, he danced out of reach of his children. It was a perfect moment. Johnny trotted forward to join them.
Eventually Roy gestured wordlessly to the bathrooms. The kids declined and Johnny motioned that he'd watch them. They all watched Roy until he disappeared into the building.
The kids turned to him, their beautiful, youthful faces twisted into such ugly looks of hatred that it froze his heart.
"You took our daddy away."
"We hate you."
Johnny shook himself awake, heart hammering and tears in his eyes. He loved Roy's kids. What was he doing to them? What was he doing to Joanne? To Roy?
He eased himself gently from Roy's arms and the bed.
He knew what he had to do.
A half hour later he slipped back into the bedroom, knelt by the bed and looked at Roy, bathed in gentle morning light.
'I don't want to do this anymore.' He thought. 'I don't want to hurt you, and loving me is hurting you. It's destroying you, and I can't watch it anymore.'
"I love you. Hold me forever in your heart." He whispered, and pressed tear soaked lips gently to Roy's cheek.
He turned, hand over his mouth to stifle the sobs as he swiftly and silently left the apartment.

puppet history s5 theories
FROM S3E6
<> Okay, so what’s the deal with Dorothy Ruth, the Molasses Horse’s wife? She died in the molasses flood along with her husband and, if we saw her on the show, was definitely also one of the Professor’s “abominable puppet creations messing with the fabric of time.” So why wasn’t she also in Puppet Purgatory? This could be explained in several ways. Maybe she wasn’t actually real? What if she was a figmant of imagination created by the genie (yknow, Hot Daga, Maizy-the-Corn style) meant to lure the Molasses horse into death? (<i>I hope my wife died too / so I can see her soon / and kiss her spooky horse ghost lips. / And stare into her gorgous, fucked up, oblong horsey pupils / as we drift into the vast abyss. / I guess I’m ready to go / into the great unknown. / It’s been a lovely horsey life.</i>) This might also explain why the Molasses Horse has become minorly insane, starring in an unhinged cooking show where he cooks with molasses, which he mentioned disliking in his S3 Finale song. (<i>My brother has a kidney stone / I sure hope that it passes. / Unrelated, but one thing / I don’t like is molasses.</i>)
FROM S4E1
<> Ok, obviously we NEED to talk about the end-credits scene. I, being the one of most gullible and easily confused people I’ve met (but don’t worry, I have my strengths), genuinely thought at first that people HAD been complaining about the lore and the Shane really WAS promising to scale it back. I figured it out after the glitch at the end though lol. So this bullet point is just about why the glitch happened. Was that a predecessor to the glitches that would happen in the Puppet Pop-Ins (side note, but I love them just…adding those. No explanation. King shit) as the season went on. Was it to symbolize the genie slowly taking control? I could also be that, although he always loses, Ryan is an integral part of Puppet History and, after he made a deal with the devil, and, subsequently, Asmodeus and the genie, Puppet History itself started to kind of…melt? Like there’s no doubt that Ryan’s (SCRIPTED! CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH) betrayal of the Professor was what allowed the Professor’s death to happen, but with the glitches and those purple glows and shit, we really were shown the genie’s slow gaining of control over the season.
<> (i was going to add more to this section but yknow what im tired)
FROM THE 2021 HOLIDAY SPECTACULAR
<> During the funeral, a hologram (or maybe a ghost???) of the Professor appeared and, among other sentiments, told the puppets in a creepy, slow voice, “don’t forget to say your prayers.” First of all, what the fuck was that? It’s never actually cleared up how the Professor appeared or what that meant. Was it a ghost? It looked like a hologram, what with the flickering, but that still doesn’t explain why it was there. Also, the Professor never seemed particularly religious. He engaged with the supernatural, and certainly knew of God, the devil, and Hell, but he never interacted with any of those things in a religious manner. So, why would he tell the puppets to say their prayers? Perhaps the Professor’s appearance was some manipulation of God, who might somehow benefit from prayers. Maybe, since the appearance of the Professor directly led to the discussion of souls and whether or not puppets have them, ergo leading to God’s appearance, the hologram was just a way for God to yeet their way into the episode. This (in my opinion) is still one of the most bizarre parts of the Spectacular and I can’t think of a proper reason for it. Tbh, an explanation for the Professor hologram is 100% exclusively what I want for xmas.
<> Why it's constantly mentioned that the professor's death is “canonical?” Are we leaving canon? Is this multiverse shit? If anyone’s familiar with <a href=”https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Staged”>Staged</a> Season 2, they’ll know that, rather than continuing on in a linear story, the second season is about the aftermath of the first season, which is real television in the context of S2 (as in, S2 starts off with a (fake–but real in the context of the show) interview with David Tennant and Michael Sheen about the success of “Staged”). Perhaps PH S5 is going to take a similar approach, somehow? Like was said in the funeral song, “the lore got deep.” Maybe S5 will be actually truly lore-less and will start with something like Shane saying in a meeting that he’s making a bigger puppet and that’s why he killed off the Professor. Maybe the promo material, has just been the origin story of this new Professor. (Unlikely, because I think Watcher knows many of their fans would be unhappy about this, even though it would explain the “canonical” death thing).
<> Why do the puppets have FOOTAGE of the professor's death? Usually, there's only footage of things that the Professor describes as having happened in history, things that are canonically made by Watcher editors. The Professor’s death doesn’t quite fit that category. After all, Death vaguely remembering “processing the death of a little blue nerd with a satchel” doesn't seem like enough for actual footage. (This could be due to the Purgatory thing. However, that wouldn’t explain the footage at the end of S4E6, which we know exists in canon bc the same footage was shown at the Professor’s funeral).
<> Death says he remembers processing "a little blue nerd with a satchel," during the interview with Book in the Holiday Spectacular. But, when the Professor’s death by T-Rex is shown at the end of S4E6, his satchel is seen falling somewhere else, NOT into the dinosaur’s mouth along with the Professor. Would he somehow get it later when his death was being processed or does Death have it wrong somehow? After all, the Molasses Horse is still shown covered in molasses every time we’ve seen him after his death. If he looks the same as he did when he died, shouldn’t the Professor’s body also follow that rule? (i.e. shouldn’t he NOT have his satchel?)
<> During the funeral song, there’s an oddly specific note about the Beef Boy (aka Ryan Bergara) maybe “saving the day, somehow. But probably not.” Most PH fans can agree that’s a direct implication that Ryan will be involved in the Professor’s return. What if he goes in the opposite direction from his previous alliance, and makes a deal with God?
<> The fact that Ryan's bit of the memorial video is filmed in front of the <a href=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=waGXWSfKP2c”>Ghost Files</a> set, which they described as having a holding place for ghosts, might indicate that there’s going to be something to do with the Professor’s ghost–maybe even a crossover between PH and Ghost Files. After all, GF was even mentioned in the funeral song, and we’ve seen that there’s a taped outline of the Professor’s body on the floor of the GF set. (May be unlikely–PH S5 promo seems to be leaning towards a “rebirth” sort of thing, rather than ghosts).
FROM S5 PROMO STUFF
<> Is the Professor being born into a new, massive body? In one episode of S4, the Professor made a comment about “hopefully being a little bigger” if he was reborn. In the end credits of the S4 finale, the Professor was swallowed by a T-Rex, known as one of the biggest carnivorous dinosaurs. Then, in the end credits of the Holiday Spectacular, we saw the Professor in a womb, presumably the womb of a T-Rex, which can be scientifically described as “fucking massive.” Finally, the S5 promo showed the Professor being born from an egg (probably a T-Rex egg). If the Professor is being born from a regular-sized T-Rex egg, then he’d be gigantic. Is that the evolution that’s occurring? In that case, how would the Professor go from being eaten, to being in a womb? Scientifically, that doesn’t seem quite right. (But let’s trust the creator of <a href=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYruGMXA5w8”>Extreme Science</a> to have thought that out).
<> While it might just be a sort-of tease, with Watcher saying “not sure about who’s going to host it, though” about PH S5, there’s a chance it could mean a literal change in host. WTF would that mean?????
WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT
<> Okay, first off I’ve seen some people on the internet speculating about the returning of PH being sort of a bashing of Ryan, and I personally don’t really like that. I don’t think it’s fair to either Real-Person-Ryan or, for that matter, PH-Character-Ryan (because, at the end of the day, this show IS fictional and, in the context of PH, Ryan Bergara is a character) for a number of reasons. Most obviously, Person Ryan is worth more than that, both as a member of Watcher Entertainment and as, like, a human. He might be a character in the show, as said previously, but it would be foolish not to acknowlage that the line is thinner than in most cases with Puppet History. But also, Character Ryan is more complicated and interesting than just his involvement in the Professor’s death, and his development over the show (specifically in the episodes–again, talking about Ryan-as-a-character right now) deserves more than an endpoint of just being sad and remorseful over the Professor’s death. And honestly I think that if that’s what you’re hoping for in S5, or you’re one of the people who doesn’t like to separate Character Ryan’s scripted actions in PH from him as a person, you really need to rethink your priorities.
<> With that out of the way, WHAT IF RYAN HOSTS THE FIRST EPISODE? (Look, bare with me, I’m on an airplane while making these notes, I’m going feral). Seriously, though, it would certainly be one of the more plausible explanations of how S5 would start. What if (Character!!!) Ryan decided he was sick of being held responsible for the end of PH and so starts up a new season himself, either hosting it as his human self, or making his own puppet to take over. Maybe then, the Professor (if it is, in fact, him who we saw getting birthed out that egg) will be so mad about PH going on without him that he’ll somehow harness his powers (if he still has them?? Srsly. Feral.) and yeet back into the present to take over.
<> What if Shane comes in as a character? What if Character Shane is revealed to be the human(?) version of the Professor who was eating jellybeans to stay a puppet. After all, it has already been (somewhat jokingly) suspected that the Professor was once human and that he’d been turned via jelly beans (as we saw happen with Garrick Bernard during the show). Perhaps this could also be combined with the Buzzfeed Unsolved Supernaturnal theories that Shane is an immortal demon, and have the <i>Professor</i> be an immortal demon (which would explain why he got reborn after being eaten by a dinosaur). In that case, the timeline could look something like this (or somethng wildly different–again, airplane + I’m sleep deprived): Shane is born. Shane starts eating jelly beans to be a puppet, which also turns him into a demon. The Professor is killed and sent back to the Cretacious Period, which accidently wakes up his human self (Shane). But, since the Professor was immortal, his death by T-Rex isn’t permanent and he gets rebirthed and lives until the present day (potentially starting a loop maybe??). Oops! Now there are two of them. So yeah. Editing me, please make sense of these unhinged ramblings. (mmmmm nah, don’t feel like it)

#8 Please like me
Plot: Josh is in his 20's and together with Claire, his girlfriend for many years, when he realises he's actually gay (or, to be honest - she tells him). This takes him on a new track in life, discovering things about himself, his body and relationships. In the middle of this partly selfbiographical soul-searching we have his emotionaly complex father, his bipolar mother, his slobby but kind best friend Tom, his cute dog John and several boyfriends and love interests. It's messy, cringey, complicated - and absolutely wonderful!
Years: 2013-2016
Seasons: 4
My story: One of my best friends found this when season 1 aired on national Swedish television. I instantly realised that this was something very different from other shows out there. I might still, after several rewatches, sit with my head in a pillow during some scenes; screaming, laughing and cheering them on. Few other shows makes me feel as much as this do.
Teachable moments: Josh might not be a role model, but he's the embodiment of trying your best. His friends and family loves him and trusts him and might sometimes depend on him a little bit too much. I think the most teachable moment here actually is that life's a mess and we just live in it, don't judge yourself too hard.
Best character: This series might mainly be about (gay) men, but it's the women who makes it. Rose (Josh's mum) and Ella (Tom's girlfriend in seasons 3 and 4) are two amazing characters whom without the series would lack color. Rose loves Josh so much and though she might not always get his choices she'll always be his biggest supporter. Ella comes in like a whirlwind in the middle of an episode and never leaves. She's the perfect complement to Tom and their energy and banter gives the series new life. I also love her friendship with Josh.
Best episode: "Pancakes with faces" (S3E6). To be honest, I might love this episode mostly for Claire's fantastic smashing of Tom's cardboard city, dressed in Josh's frog kigurumi, which is the last scene of the episode. But there's A LOT going on in this episode that tells us that the support we have might not always be the support we need, but somehow we have to live with that. I also want to mention "Scroggin" (S2E7) since it's a beutifully made deep dive into Josh's and Rose's relationship.
Best quote: "Like, in the grand scheme of things, like the billions of people and the millions of years, and the stardust and the mammoths, and Taylor Swift, it just seems like you don’t really matter that much.” (Josh)
Fun fact: While making the series Josh Thomas hired Emily Barclay to play Tom's girlfriend Ella. While Tom and Ella breaks up in the last episode, in real life it turns out Josh was sort of a matchmaker. Emily and her co-actor Thomas Ward are today married with two kids.
If you like this you might also like: After Please like me Josh Thomas went on to make another great series called "Everything's gonna be ok" about Nicholas who's left to take care of his two younger halfsisters when their father dies. Together they guide each other through a messy, funny neurodivergent world where anything can happen. Others you might like are Sex Education, Pose, Atypical, Nanette/Something special/Douglas and Skins.

the parallels between m*leven and other not-endgame ships: an essay.
This is a long ass post. Click “keep reading” at your own risk.
Let’s begin with Mike Wheeler’s parents: Karen and Ted Wheeler, our first technically-endgame-but-they’re-in-a-loveless-marriage-so-they-might-as-well-not-be.
Tumblr media
As Nancy, Mike’s sister, says in s1e5, “I don’t think my parents ever loved each other... my mom was young. My dad was older, but he had a cushy job, money, and came from a good family. So they bought a nice house at the end of the cul-de-sac... and started their nuclear family... Screw that.”
Nancy knows that her parents don’t love each other.
She also knows that she doesn’t want her future to look like that. However, Mike is younger and it’s not clear whether or not he’s aware that his parents’ marriage isn’t the ideal relationship. Even Nancy, who doesn’t want to follow in their footsteps, almost ends up like them by dating Steve (Steve is wealthy, popular, athletic, and has multiple parallels to Ted Wheeler - more on that later). It’s more than possible that Mike is modeling his relationships after his parents because that’s all he knows.
Also, throughout season 3, Mike’s clothes resemble Karen/Ted’s clothes - this shows that he’s trying to model other aspects of his life after his parents.
Stancy (Steve Harrington and Nancy Wheeler) are paralleled to Ted/Karen throughout the show, both of them being loveless relationships.
In s1e1, the Wheelers are sitting at the dinner table and get into an argument. Karen leaves the table, upset, and Ted does nothing to stop her nor does he go after her to make sure she’s okay. The same thing happens in s2e1 when Nancy and Steve are having dinner with the Hollands (Barbara’s parents). Barb’s parents say they are selling their house so that they can pay for a private investigator to find Barb (who, as Nancy, Steve, and the audience knows, is dead). Nancy leaves the table, upset, and Steve does nothing to stop her nor does he go after her to make sure she’s okay.
Also, in both scenes, Ted/Steve are both eating chicken.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now that we see that Ted/Karen are paralleled to Stancy, let’s take a look at how Stancy are paralleled to M*leven.
There are many points I’m gonna make here - the first is: both couples make out to cheesy music on a bed. Stancy does so in s1e1 in Nancy’s bedroom, and M*leven does so in s3e1 in El’s bedroom. This shows an obvious parallel between the two not-endgame couples.
This next point is slightly less significant but it’s still worth mentioning. In s1e1, Steve voices an inanimate object to try and make Nancy laugh/stop being upset with him.
Tumblr media
This exact same thing happens in s3e4 when Mike and El are in the pool shed. Mike voices an inanimate object to try and make El laugh/stop being upset with him.
Tumblr media
Here’s a big one. The Wheeler siblings can’t seem to say “I love you” unless they mean it. They also conveniently forget things they said in the past that they regret.
For Nancy, it was in s2e2 when she told Steve their whole relationship was bullshit and that she didn’t love him. In s2e3/the next day, Steve confronts her about it. She says she was drunk and that she didn’t remember what she said. So he asks her to tell him she loves him. And she can’t bring herself to do so. Nancy couldn’t remember saying she didn’t love Steve, and when she tried to say she loved him, she couldn’t.
For Mike, it was in s3e6 when he said, “I love her and I can’t lose her again.” Then, in s3e7, the infamous blank makes you crazy scene happens. He wasn’t able to say “I love you” to her face - he tried to hint at it by beating around the bush, but he wasn’t able to say it out loud. And in s3e8, El tells Mike she heard him say “I love her and I can’t lose her again”. And you know what he says? “I don’t really remember... what did I say exactly?” Mike couldn’t remember saying he loved El, and when he tried to say he loved her (to her face), he couldn’t.
Remember when I was talking about how Karen marrying Ted/Nancy dating Steve was out of convenience? Mike also dated El out of convenience. He was trying to cover up his homosexuality by convincing everyone, including himself, that he was straight. And he did so by trying to date a girl. Getting with El seemed to be the most obvious choice - the two of them were already pretty close, seeing as they both saved each other’s lives multiple times, and El was, according to Lucas in s1e5, “a girl [who’s] not grossed out by you.” (ouch by the way). It would make perfect sense for Mike to date El, so he did just that in order to cover his tracks.
Last Stancy/M*leven parallel before we move on. In s2e2, the scene in the house party’s bathroom basically just consists of Nancy saying “bullshit” about everything relating to her and Steve. in s3e1, Dustin says “it’s bullshit.” when talking about M*leven.
(Let’s take a little break. Take a deep breath, get some water/snacks, and come back.)
(Welcome back.)
Here’s weird double-parallel for you. Robin’s coming out scene in s3e7 suspiciously resembles two big M*leven scenes. The first scene it parallels is the “blank makes you crazy” scene in that same episode.
- Steve/Robin and Mike/El are both sitting on the floor, facing each other.
- Robin/El both have a bandage on their leg.
- Mike/Robin both use the word “stupid” - Mike says “that’s why I said all that stupid stuff.” and Robin says “she couldn’t pull her eyes away from you and your stupid hair.”
The second scene that Robin’s coming out scene parallels is the last M*leven kissing scene. I’ve seen people say that, in a way, the last M*leven kiss is also a coming out in its own way - it’s just that Robin’s was more direct and Mike’s wasn’t. In both scenes, the song “The First I Love You” plays in the background. Steve tells Robin he likes her and she tells him she’s not into guys. El tells Mike she loves him and he conveniently doesn’t remember saying he loves her, nor does he reciprocate the kiss at all (keeping his eyes open and not making physical contact). He also seemed confused, not happy, as El walked away.
Weird.
In conclusion, there is so much evidence that M*leven will not be endgame - this essay has only scratched the surface. I might do another one of these about why Byler will be endgame, but for now, I’m stopping this here.
P.S. this information is a combination of my own observations and what I’ve learned/gathered from the internet.
