hey kas, congratulations on the big milestone you totally deserve it!

A story I'd like to recommend is Take it Back by @alandoflimbo. It is so beautifully written and a great slow burn. A modern au about Bucky Barnes where he becomes good friends with his gf's sister which may turn into something more 👀. I'm bad at describing but it really isn't as formulaic as I'm saying it is. It really is amazing and a worthy rec for your list

Oh, I'm sorry 💔 I hope you're on your way to getting the support you need sweetie.

I like my angst really brutal and usually full of sex. If that's something you're feeling like you can handle then I'll list a few below from my AO3 read list and hope the author names aren't to dissimilar here:

Porn Star Bucky Barnes AU by @tilltheendwilliwrite chapters 2 and 4 are my favs. 2 is Smutty McSmuttison but 4 it's the story of Bucky and Y/N' s first meeting and is all full of feel good reassurances <3

City Heat by @thorfanficwriter is 1940s film noir Bucky and is so well written it had me hooked instantly. Happy ending there 👌

Stay With Me by @jbbuckybarnes is a bit angsty hurt/comfort with soft realizations of love and is a very smooth and good read.

Come Over by @moonstruckbucky was a great read with a good amount of angst in the form of assumed unrequited love and overstepped boundaries but with a week deserved happy ending.

Blue by @softlybarnes is an epic soul searcher. So deep but fluffy until the moment of heart obliteration but don't worry is ok in the end.

Until You Break My Heart by @kentuckybarnes was wonderful 1940s soft boi Bucky. Even the angst in this is smooth and the physical loving is exactly that - not porny, for those who don't like that graphic stuff. You get your happily ever after in this too.

Looking for a Heartbeat by @justreadingfics is an amazing story though is angsty to the eyeballs with the tease of a happy ending before more angst and finally what you're searching for. It's an amazing story but is strong on the emotional hurt... these guys are brutal with each other, I can't say that enough especially if you may be in a fragile state.

Take it Back by @alandoflimbo is also an fab story but is angsty AF. It's an unfinished work so the happy ending isn't there (yet). I'm so hopeful that this will finish the way I hope it will but there are no guarantees.

There are so many fics and authors I could list but I'd be here forever. What I will say is that I don't know all that much about other people's depression... please look after yourself and check out the author warnings on their fics to protect yourself. Peace and love💓

There’s a story that has been in my notes for the longest, it’s a story called “Take It Back” and it’s by alandoflimbo on AO3. It’s a Bucky series and it’s about the reader being in love with Bucky when he’s engaged to her older sister. It is truly the most beautifully heartbreaking story, I have ever read and it’s so good (it’s angsty & smutty😭). It causes emotional pain tho but don’t get me wrong, there is so much more. I haven’t finished it, please give it a read. It is so good.

I also find it hilarious that in those trends most of the pics are him next to women that we don’t even know who they were for him or the first pics taken with his then gf basically showing that even before being considered problematic, the girlfriend was seen as a threat
