Valley on the I'll Be With You Tour
Notable Moments:
Can I say the entire show? I'm just kidding, but this was genuinely such a great performance. I went with one of my best friends, which definitely enhanced the experience, but I have also been a ValPal since the release of MAYBE, so seeing them was a special treat.
I made my own MAYBE jacket, as a little treat, and wrote some of my favorite lyrics of theirs on the inside back panel of the jacket. Luckily, it was cold when we went to see the show so I wasn't overheated in my bulky jacket and it's become one of my favorite jackets.
Mickey did lead vocals for the second half of "Tempo" and the first half of "Oh Shit... Are We in Love?" and he also did an extended guitar solo during Tempo that absolutely knocked my socks off.
Karah switched places with Mickey during "Tempo" to sing lead vocals with Rob and her voice was incredible, I really hope she starts to sing lead on their new records. She had such a great energy and her drum solos were impressive, to say the least.
Alex was so much fun to interact with, I wish I had photos of him that were any good, because he was so invested in interacting with his fans, it was great.
Rob was an absolute shining star, as would be expected from Rob Laska. He talked frequently during the show, but was able to not kill the flow of the performance. He had a lot of witty banter and interactions and seemed genuinely excited to be playing for us that night.
The band fit a cover of "Landslide" in between the last verse and chorus of "All the Animals I Drew as a Kid," which has entirely changed the way I listen to and relate to that song. They also played tracks off of This Room is White, which was both unexpected and incredibly well done. The finale was, of course, "Like 1999" which has never been my favorite of theirs until I heard it live. The energy the crowd had and screaming the lyrics with my favorite band and 600 other people definitely changed the way I listen to that song.
Overall, it was a wonderful show and I would probably go to see Valley again, if given the chance.

i need more happy belated.
i love valley. they're an exceptional band. they've even still got some remnants of happy belated in some tracks off of "this room is white."
but they will never be happy belated. "national parks" was quite literally a life changing record. i listen to at least two tracks off of it daily and listen to the whole record two or three times a week. i need more songs that sound like happy belated and i know we will never get it and that's just so unfair.
i also really wish "national parks" was on vinyl because listening to it on vinyl versus streaming the record would probably elevate my soul onto a different plane of existence and i would experience nirvana or something of the like

I'm going to be obnoxious and ask about my OCs in that case lol who of my OCs do you get the vibe would get along with your OCs and who would be sworn enemies?
oooh man, I have to admit, this is going to take some thinking. You've got a lot of OCs and I can't say I'm super familiar with most of them, so I'll do my best.
I'm also going to stick with your D-Team OCs for the sake of brevity, since there would be way too much to organize if I looked at all of them right now
Hmm... I think Mihael would either get along brilliantly with Ophelia, or they'd be mortal enemies. It all depends on the context they were in. They're both pretty morally grey and dedicated people, though Ophelia seems to be a bit less serious than Mihael (she's more of a quippy antihero, but she's also got a lot of trauma and grief that anchors her). If they were linked by some shared event, they'd be an unstoppable team, but if they were placed on opposite sides they could easily be world-destroying enemies.
Ophelia would also get along really well with Lara, no polarization there. They're practically the same person! (not genuinely, but you get what I mean)
Set would get along really well with Jasper, I think. They both seem to be pretty alt, against-the-grain, and they'd bond over being trans/queer. I also feel like Jasper would find Set calming to be around since he's so kind and gentle, his emotions wouldn't be as intrusive (they're an empath)
I think Laska and Rae would be very good teammates and equally good friends, though Rae's a bit less "lawful" than Laska is and they might occasionally butt heads over that. But they're both very loyal to their friends and seem to be very strong, driven women, so I think they'd have a lot of respect for one another
Alex.... would be tricky. I feel like Rae would develop a little mini-crush on him, since he looks and acts fairly similar to her love interest. However, I feel like his "goodness" would end up getting on Quinn's nerves - she tries to be a decent person, but she's also a shameless pickpocket and vigilante and would probably get annoyed with Alex if he tried to persuade her to a "brighter path"
I don't know that there are any of our OCs that would be sworn enemies, unless Mihael and Ophelia ended up at odds with each other. Really, I feel like most of them would end up somewhere in the middle, and it would all depend on how they met and what their first impression was like
This question really made me think! Thank you! (and I realize most of this probably means very little to you since I don't have intro pieces for my OCs, but I'm happy to answer any questions you have on them)

JUNO nominated, alternative-pop band Valley - Rob Laska, Michael "Mickey" Brandolino, Alex Dimauro, and Karah James - share their steadfast new single “Break For You” through Capitol Records/Universal Music Canada. “Break For You” arrives as the third single from the band’s upcoming sophomore album Lost In Translation set to release on June 23. Listen HERE.
Valley have been performing “Break For You” live as part of their set list during the first few dates on tour to rave responses from audiences, the track blending seamlessly into their catalogue of danceable love songs. Drummer and vocalist Karah James, explains “’Break for You’ was one of those songs that just fell from the sky and into our lap. The lyrics and melodies effortlessly unfolded as we wrote the song and when we listened back for the first time, we felt that it was a special one.” Karah continues, “The concept isn’t anything ground-breaking, but it’s a universal one that we said in a way that felt true to us and our relationships. This song is a reminder to a loved one that they don’t have to bear their burdens alone.” Karah continues, “It’s a guardian angel looking after us from near or far and a loyalty to pay it forward. The good and the bad parts of life aren’t meant to be lived alone, and if we just let each other in, our lives could be even more colourful.”
“Break For You” follows two previously released tracks “Throwback Tears” which was covered by Kerala folk/indie group When Chai Met Toast and shared on Rolling Stone India and has racked up over four million global stream plus “Good, but not together,” that was released alongside a live performance video. All three tracks are set to be included as part of the band’s highly anticipated upcoming album, see below for full track listing, now revealed by the band.
Valley have kicked off their North American ‘Lost In Translation Tour’ headlining tour in Canada earlier this month, including two sold-out nights in Toronto and head out on their U.S. leg tomorrow in Philadelphia. Fans attending their shows are getting an exclusive listen of songs off the Lost In Translation album ahead of it’s release in June. The band quickly sold-out dates in New York, Los Angeles and Vancouver with many of the shows low on tickets. See the updated list of tour dates below. Tickets can be purchased on Valley’s website, here.

What are your OCs' favorite weapons or fighting styles? What weapons would they want to learn how to use, either for efficiency or just because they think it's cool?
Marco: prefers to sit behind the scenes and control his robots, he should probably learn at least some self-defense honestly lol
Salacia: prefers a shield and her control over water, can also use a polearm, xiphos, and bow and arrow, she'd love to learn some Atlantean fighting styles for Tuatlall <3333
Tuatlall: prefers magic, isn't much of a fan of physical combat
L'Harann: has superpowers (eye lasers best!!!) but is also good with her fists without them, she'd probably do well learning kickboxing
Experiment 929: likes to use her newfound superstrength to throw things like cars
Lea: prefers manipulating sound waves into knife-like projectiles and fighting with a bo-staff, practices (and teaches) jujutsu and taekwondo, she'd love to learn capoeira and kungfu
Megitsune: prefers fighting with dual-swords and jujutsu
Eoland: doesn't usually need to fight beyond using her superspeed, one punch at mach-2 is plenty for most people lol
Barbara: same as Eoland, she'll also do a few rounds of normal-speed boxing with Eden and Ira
Hartley: prefers to use her flute to hypnotize people to do what she needs them to or uses her robotic rats, she can throw a solid punch if she needs to but she could use some self-defense lessons also
Yǔqí: tries not to fight at all but will try to distract whatever hero is trying to stop her while her snakes finish what they need to do and make their escape
Eden: the police on Earth-63 don't really use weapons but she's a very good boxer, she'd love to learn karate as well
Ira: is also a very good boxer and he practices tai chi
Cisca: very much does not consider herself a fighter both before and after gaining her powers, though she's not opposed to using her powers to defend herself and her friends
Savitar: see Barbara
Mallorie: SPEED! FORCE! SWORDS!!!
Kal: he's literally Superman lol
Ricki: prefers her escrima sticks but is also proficient with a bo-staff, batarangs/birdarangs, shuriken, and practices kungfu, judo, taekwondo, and aikido, she'd love to have a better mastery of sword fighting
Jessie: prefers knives, particularly favors her kris, kunai, and cinquedea (and of course, the All Blades), she's also proficient with batarangs/birdarangs, shuriken, and practices muay thai, judo, and taekkyeon - although outlawed on all of Earth-63, she's also very good with projectile weapons including guns (where she got the guns, she'll never tell), she'd like to get better at archery
Tiff: prefers her bo-staff but is also proficient with batarangs/birdarangs, shuriken, and practices kendo (she was on her high school team), judo, and aikido, she'd like to get better with knives (she will die before she asks Jessie for help tho lol)
Dami: prefers their katana, is also proficient with knives, a bo-staff, batarangs/birdarangs, shuriken, and is absolutely not opposed to biting people, she also practices kungfu and muay thai and would like to learn more martial art disciplines
Gabi: prefers to turn into a tiger but her other go-to animals are gorilla, snake, bat, cat, dog, or octopus, she'd like to see if she can turn into extinct or alien animals
Laska: prefers her bow and arrow, would like to learn how to fight at close range
Piper: prefers to use her sound control for speed and defense, she'd love to learn how to use it on the offensive
Lara: practices hapkido, would like to learn other martial arts
Jisoo: prefers to use the ice side of her powers, she feels like the fire side is too dangerous but she'd definitely like to learn how to better control it
Alex: practiced qin na and fenced in high school and college
Dan: practices shuai jiao, would love to learn how to use some ancient greek weaponry
Amara: prefers her bow and arrow and fire powers, practices taekwondo, would like to get better with a sword or spear
Mendel: doesn't have any formal training but his punches are still fairly powerful and he'll also bite, he's trying desperately to get some sort of training lol

My Favorite Album #192 - Kingswood on The Beatles ‘Magical Mystery Tour’ (1967)
Kingswood are one of Australia's hottest rock bands, and I sat down with frontman Fergus and axeman Alex on release day for their new album ‘After Hours, Before Dawn’, to talk about why "everything comes back to the Beatles", studio experimentation, finding their own George Martin, mellotrons, the music teacher that made them appreciate the Beatles and the art of the album and translating dreams into songs, with horrifying results.
