Random prompt: write a ficlet for one of your OCs that's inspired by an episode of Black Mirror! (if you haven't seen the show, look at summaries of the episodes and pick one that sounds interesting; it doesn't have to be accurate to how the show does it)
(though if you haven't seen Black Mirror before I highly recommend it, seems like it would be up your alley)
I've never seen Black Mirror, but after reading the synopsis for s4e2, Arkangel, I had a kinda fucked up concept for an Eobard + Siv AU.
He That Keepeth Watch
Word Count: 1.5k-ish
CW: Creepy, possessive behaviors, dehumanization, classism + fatphobia, abusive and controlling parenting, nonconsensual voyeurism involving a minor, nonconsensual body modification, mind control, horror elements
Eobard gave her the implant after the first time she snuck out.
Sivonne had slipped out her window to go to a party with some friends, like any fifteen-year-old would, and had come home visibly intoxicated, even if he didn't acknowledge that he had noticed it. It was a liability, and she needed to be reined in before something went wrong.
He phased it under her skin in her sleep, because he knew she'd notice an incision in the morning. She healed fast, of course, even without her speed awakened yet, so by the time the morning came, there was no evidence that he had done it.
It was something from his time, a device from the 22nd century that Eobard had rebuilt from scratch in case something like this ever happened. He needed to stay in control of that girl-thing, the abomination that he had created. Right now, he was toeing a fragile line with his identity, and his so-called daughter made everything a million times more difficult.
If only he could tell her everything. Then he'd be able to blow up in her face like he so desperately wanted to. He could bellow, scream with all his rage, eyes blazing the fiery red of the Negative Speed Force that she was born from.
She'd taken a risk that he didn't want her to- what if her power had activated that night, under the stress of her intoxication? She could have killed everyone in that room without even realizing it. Then, the jig would be up. He'd have to somehow explain how and why his child, whose legal documents were fairly solid but he was sure wouldn't withstand a thorough searching, had somehow turned a bunch of drunken teenagers to ash.
Speculation would fall on him, and then he'd be ruined. At the very least, his backup plan and final weapon would be either killed or thrown in a cell so dark not even the Speed Force itself could find her. No, it was better this way.
The implant would allow him to monitor everything that she saw, and to potentially blur out anything that could cause her psychological stress. He'd taken out that feature, of course. He wanted her broken. He wanted her traumatized. He wanted her angry, and willing to fight.
He'd altered it, in turn, to allow him access to her somatic nervous system. Just a flick of a switch, and she'd be a prisoner in her own body. Something tempted him to use it next time she had to interact with the Rathaways, but it was too risky. Best to leave it for emergencies.
The next morning, Sivonne woke up, a little itchy under the skin but unaware that anything had changed. There the implant stayed, where Eobard would sit, checking her activities on his tablet as she went about her daily life, away from him.
He watched her as she trained in her Muay Thai lessons. He'd given the man, who definitely wasn't running covert recruitment for the League of Assassins under the guise of a martial arts training facility, a few thousand dollars in exchange for teaching his creation some techniques certainly weren't developed by the League, and how to handle melee weapons, since ranged ones would be soon useless, considering the powers that lay just under the surface.
It was unfortunate that the man would have to be taken out of the picture soon. Eobard knew that he had taken an interest in Sivonne, but he wasn't about to let his property be stolen by a group that would be all but gone by his time. No, she would never be part of the League of Assassins, and Eoabrd would be sure of it. He had a file, after all, one he'd made of all the man's illegal activities. One fax of that to the police, and it'd all be over for him.
He watched, the first time she had intercourse, with abject interest. He considered stopping her then and there, since she didn't really need that kind of distraction in her life, but decided against it. They were being safe, after all, and there was no risk of pregnancy, both with Sivonne's lack of reproductive systems (designed by him, of course), and the fact that they were both biologically female (on the surface, at least). It was too much of a risk for him to intervene, so he averted his gaze, but kept the tablet within arms' reach.
The girl's name was Regina Rivera, a grossly overweight girl in Sivonne's year who spoke English with a thick accent. She was a recent immigrant from Puerto Rico, and while Eobard hadn't met her yet, he knew that Sivonne had become quite smitten. It was strange, really- when he'd written her genetic code, he hadn't intended for her to be enamored with women, let alone to have any sexual interests in the first place. Oh, well. Some things were both by nature and nurture, and his abomination of a daughter's preferences were certainly one of them. So long as she stayed safe, it wasn't his problem. He'd likely have to kill her eventually, anyway.
He watched as Rivera slowly integrated in with Sivonne's small friend group. Out of them all, Eobard liked Max the most- underneath that so-called "dweeby" exterior was a cunning and ruthless spirit most didn't notice. He didn't know why she chose to associate with such complete and utter social outcasts, though. She had the physical strength and charisma to climb the social ladder and make connections that might actually mean something someday.
Over the years of watching and observing, even after Sivonne got her powers and started her ill-advised misadventures in vigilantism, Eobard's opinion on Regina Rivera worsened. Throught the years, he tried prompting multiple times for Sivonne to separate herself from the girl, but each time was met with accusations of "classism", because Sivonne, of course believed he disliked her partner due to her lower socioeconomic status.
These people didn't matter. He had to remind himself- after all, they were all dead for centuries where he was from, even if they were mere children, high school sophomores and freshmen in this time. But these people were influencing Sivonne, even as much as he tried to keep their influence at a minimum, softening her hard edges that he'd worked so hard to sharpen- but none were as much a bad influence as Rivera.
While it was true that he would prefer she choose a partner of similar status and values to his own, or better yet no partner at all, that was not what he hated about Rivera. No- Rivera was a goody-two shoes little bitch who influenced his would-be weapon in all the wrong ways. Rivera was good. Rivera was sweet. Worst of all, Rivera was soft, both in spirit and body.
He could almost imagine the horror it would be if his daughter became like her partner. Sickly-sweet, doe-eyed, graceful, and obese in a way that revealed her soft, feminine nature and interest in things, like music and the arts, that while perhaps valuable to society as a whole, his genetically engineered terror of a daughter had no place engaging in. Perhaps it was the fact that they were such opposites that drew them together in the first place.
When Rivera confronted him with the knowledge of his secret, a moment he knew was coming from the moment he watched through Sivonne's eyes as she revealed the secret of her telepathic powers, he knew it was time. With a flick of his hand on his tablet, Sivonne was summoned from... wherever she was to the room where Rivera had confronted him.
It only took a swipe of his finger for Rivera's heart to be clutched in Sivonne's hand, still giving two more last, pitiful beats before falling to the ground with Rivera's body. The fleshy mass made a sickening plop, and Eobard was more than happy to finally be rid of her.
Sivonne's eyes were wide with terror, but that was the only emotion her face betrayed, as every muscle in her body was now under his control. She was truly his now, and only his. She'd learn her place soon enough, once her spirit had been broken and she'd been turned back into the barely-sapient shell she'd been intended to be.
"Now, Sivonne." Eobard knelt down to her level, voice purring like the cat that caught the canary. "I believe that you have a lot of work to do, to make up for your friend's betrayal."
He'd force her to commit atrocities, until that was all she knew how to do. She'd terrorize Barry Allen and everything he knew and loved, and once that was done, she'd bring him to Eobard, where he could finally kill him and finally lay this whole feud to rest. Then, Eobard would retire and, for the first time in the centuries that made up his temporally confusing lifespan, he would sleep well- but not before terminating his creation, of course.
After all, you don't need a monster forever.

Something you like and dislike about your favorite of the Robins please?
ooooh that's Dickieeee and gosh it's so hard to choose, it also super depends on which version! it's such a copout to say but honestly I love how complicated and complex he is like
he's a sweetheart, he's an asshole, he falls in love way too easily, he's scared of commitment, he hates Bruce, he'd literally die for him, he solves cold cases for fun, he doesn't kill, he's murdered a man with his bare hands more than once, Discowing was his best/worst fashion decision, he's confident in everything he tries, he can't do small talk, he pretends to be an airhead when he's the smartest man in the room, making bad jokes is at his core, he's everything lol
something I dislike is probably that the man is constantly in a spiral of self-destruction and will not acknowledge it like sir, please!!! go to therapy!!!

VERY curious about the fic just titled "get whumped idiot" lmao 🤣🤣
@icedteaandoldlace since you asked for this as well
It was a placeholder but I still can’t think of an actual title😭
As you would expect from me, the fic is very much not as lighthearted as the {placeholder} title would suggest :)
Not gonna share a snippet because this one keeps changing every time I go to work on it but some things that {I’m like 90% sure} won’t change
Barry (as the Flash) gets kidnapped for an event thrown for some of the worst criminals in the city.
One of those criminals is Leonard Snart.
Barry and Len are dating, un(?👀)beknownst to the host of the event.
Len obviously wants to get Barry out of this situation, but there are 2 problems with that.
Barry has the unfortunate role of being the entertainment as, for a fee, guests are allowed to torture him. And this event has a lot of people who’d want revenge on the Flash. Oh, and did I forget to mention he’s set to be killed/executed at the end of this event?
The lovely host has mind reading capabilities. Working with Star labs, Len can solve this issue for himself— but this still means Barry can’t know of any impending rescue. On the contrary, the only way to save Barry might just be to crush his hope of rescue completely…
How, you ask?
:)

Have you ever thought about ways you WOULDN'T whump Barry (or another character), for one reason or another? Any methods of whump you personally don't like, any methods that wouldn't work because of the character's personality or abilities, any methods you just don't find interesting to write, etc.?
I've asked a few times about your preferred methods of whump, but I'm interested to hear if you have any least favorites/undesirable types of whump too!
WOW I made this way more complicated in my head than it needed to be. Broke it down into the specific questions you asked for some semblance of coherence.
Have you ever thought about ways you WOULDN'T whump Barry (or another character), for one reason or another?: The only hard ‘no’ I really have when it comes to my own whump writing (and this applies to any character) is sexual torture and/or any explicit non-con. But other than that I can’t think of anything I absolutely wouldn’t do. Oh. Wait there is one more. No damn auto-cannibalism (/hj)
Any methods of whump you personally don't like: Sickfics bore me ngl (I think that counts as a method of whump), but other than that not really. It’s kind of a “know it when I see it” deal for whump I don’t like; and (when reading at least) it usually has more to do with the execution than the method itself (which is a primary reason I don’t have set methods I wouldn’t personally write; because as the writer I can use the method in any way I please).
Wouldn't work because of the character's personality or abilities: Well I’ve had to scrap a couple wip ideas because it’s really difficult for most people/potential whumpers to catch a freaking speedster💀 (ofc meta-dampening technology exists but you need a good reason for someone to have access to that tech). So not a method, but Barry’s powers limit his whumpers to: other speedsters, certain metas, and the small-ish overlap of people who both have access to meta-dampening tech and are smart enough to use it successfully against a speedster. Which doesn’t sound ~too~ bad but can be a little irksome when I’m trying to branch away from my usuals (*cough* Zoom and Thawne)
Just don't find interesting to write, etc.?: I’ve actually run into a couple of these: poisoning, possession, whumpee death (some exceptions), kidnapping for ransom, stabbing, stress positions, whumperless whump, and probably more but those are ones I remember trying and just getting a bit bored. And ofc I’m sure there’s opportunities for any of these to be interesting if I ever want to use them in the future; but atm they just do not spark joy.

Character ask game for Corinthian and Morpheus please?
Thank you for sending this to me! These are great picks. I had a bit to say so I had to get this out on a document before I could post them here. I hope you enjoy!
******
Corinthian
I like Corinthian’s style, his suaveness, how easily he can persuade someone to do his bidding. There is something both eerie and impressive about his ability to do this and I cannot explain why. He is also extremely unsettling if you look his way too long and idk what it is but it both scares and equally fascinates me.
I wish more people understood that Corinthian only wants attention and approval from his creator. He wants to be recognized as a useful entity and wants people to see the world as he does, and yet it does get misconstrued the wrong way. Deep down he does have a heart of gold for children, though and would be as kind as he can to them. If he found one abandoned, he would do his best to take them home, because that is the person he is.
That being said, I headcanon him as being great with children and also being a great father (hence why I gave him Levi in my New Beginnings Universe) and treats them the way he would have wanted to be treated and loved by his creator. This nightmare is also an amazing cook. I know one of my friends here can attest and agree with me. I am looking at you @novaracer
In the Sandman show, I like Corinthians' interactions with Morpheus. It is interesting to see how he simultaneously loathes, somewhat respects, and admires him. It is an interesting power dynamic at play and Boyd and Tom are phenomenal at portraying them.
I think it would be fun to see him interact more with Hob, especially since I tend to write Hobrintheus x reader fics (maybe I should create an OC specific to that polycule hmmm). Hob clocking him on the dot and nodding to Morpheus who rolls his eyes like “this is the sexyman you were ashamed to show me. About time he showed up.” I think along these lines if Hob and Corinthian did have this interaction, they would so gang up on Morpheus and play pranks on him. At the same time, though, they would desperately try to get the poor lad to rest. Needless to say, they would both be very goofy, yet serious and casual, definitely mess with Morpheus to keep him on his toes while also looking out for him.
******
Morpheus (Dream of the Endless)
Morpheus happens to be the type of person I gravitate towards in fiction. A concept of an idea, not even really human, tall, pale, dark eyes, eyeliner, deep resonant voice and had a long dark coat and color palette. Not to mention a tad dangerous if you peeve him.
I wish more people understood and took into account how awful Morpheus’s marriage record is and how petty and arrogant he is (especially in the comics). We can see it weed out through season one, but he is a class A jerk so I would greatly hesitate to consider him as marriage material until Hob mellowed him out (definitely would marry Hob no questions asked).
Morpheus likes to sit in a dark ominous looking chair and knit together mini shadow nightmares for his partner(s). I for one think it is cute and a way he can be inspired to ease his mind for a moment. I also think he is also a grade A clinger, though you cannot get him to admit it. He adores the loving touch of his partner(s) but it does take him quite some time to get there, due to his understandable mistrust of humanity.
In the Sandman show, I enjoyed Morpheus’s interactions with Jed. The small smile he gives the kid is reminiscent of the way he knows how dreams can be a comfort for young kids and I like how Jeb admires him as a hero in some subconscious manner. I wish this man would interact more with his family. I really hope we get a few flashback scenes of the chaotic family dinners and the ridiculous outfits he sports.

I know having people talk to you from behind a screen isn't fulfilling, and definitely doesn't make up for the love you should be receiving from friends and family irl, but I promise I really only mean the best when I say I care about you. Maybe it's a drop of ink next to an ocean of water, but that's the best I can do and i want to give you that much.
And I don't think you're being unreasonable, I just think there's a difference between what is presently happening and what is speculation on the future. Saying "I am lonely" isn't unreasonable, it's your feelings and that's completely valid, I'm not trying to argue with that. But saying "we wouldn't be friends if we met irl" is self-derisive speculation and honestly comes across as a little... defeatist, maybe? That's not the word I want, I don't mean it to sound that harsh, but I think the part we may find "unreasonable" is the way you brush most of our attempts to comfort you off as "well you wouldn't care" when at the core of it, do you really know we wouldn't? You're assuming we'll stop caring because that's the value you place on yourself, but that doesn't mean we place the same value on you. You're your own worst critic, and I promise that voice in your head is not the same voice we all hear when we think about you. I think you're an intelligent, caring, and genuinely thoughtful person, and whether you believe it or not, I really DO think we would be friends irl
I know it probably doesn't help as much as I'd want it to, but I'm not sure what else I can do. It really hurts to see you beat yourself up, especially when that turns into this projection about how you expect to be treated. I want to be your friend. Online and irl. I wish I could know you in real life, because you seem like a genuinely interesting person and someone I would like to know.
And this isn't coming from nowhere, by the way. I was intensely isolated during my early teen years due to medical issues and it absolutely stunted my social life, I was incredibly lonely and felt like every friendship I had was temporary and I still sometimes slip into those thought patterns, but I can speak from experience when I say that if you keep believing everyone will leave you, you will unconsciously end up driving people away.
Tell yourself that you're worthy of friendship, because you are. Even if you don't believe it right now, you are. It will get better - and please don't brush this off as "maybe it did for you but I'm different", because I was in the same place. I was horribly depressed, lonely, and in pain, and it led to suicidal ideation; I understand what you're feeling. It sucks, and you have to fight for it, and there are times when it's utterly exhausting, but it will get better if you try to start training out those damaging thought processes.
i don't want to. I admit it. i don't want to fight for anything. i want to quit. i don't want to keep trying to be friends with people. i don't want to exist anymore. i don't see the point. I'm defeated and i want it to be over now.
i'm not capable of thinking I'm worthy of love. I'm bad at keeping people around. i can't convince myself of anything that i can't prove. i can't be a person. i don't want to be a person anymore.
i don't want people to block me over drama i'm not involved in anymore. i don't want people to stop talking to me no matter how many times i try to pick up a conversation again anymore. I'm tired of everyone leaving me no matter how good of a friend i try to be. people don't value my friendship. they don't. i'm not cut out for this. I'm no good at making friends or keeping friends or anything social. I can't figure it out.
i have no one that makes this fight worth fighting. i hate me. i can't like me. i try and it doesn't work. i hate my body more than anything in the world and it hates me.

Ok I have to add on to goregoblin's ask bc she's so fucking right and should say it. The way you draw Jean is AMAZING, she's so beautiful and it's so rare to find artists that draw superheroes (especially female superheroes) with distinctly different appearances from one another, but she just... i don't even know what to say, she just LOOKS like Jean Grey!!! I love it!!
And I love how you draw Warren too ofc, he's my all-time favorite and your art style captures him so well <3
thank you!!
its funny you bring up warren bc i really don't think i draw him very often or consistently. but i'm glad you like the various ways i've depicted him!

Talk Shop Tuesday: I can see that you're a big Spider-Man fan (and same!! I write for Spidey too!), so which version of Spider-Man do you enjoy writing the most? Which universe do you enjoy writing the most? Is there a particular character you find especially challenging to write, and why?
How do you navigate writing different versions of Spider-Man that interact, like with Spiderverse or No Way Home - how do you make sure each version of the character is distinct?
AHHHH hello hello thank you for the TST ask!!
Personally I like being able to pick a part pieces from the different canons and smush them together into something both familiar and novel. Writing SMH has been such an exercise in sticking to MCU canon while also pulling in all sorts of people and references from other adaptations in a way that feels consistent. My main side WIP is technically MCU based (because it's primarily Parkner) while also referencing Matt Murdock and Kate Bishop and others from the comics that haven't had much/any interaction with MCU Peter. I just like smashing around these characters I love and picking apart what makes them *them*
Personally I both love and struggle with writing MJ. I think because the different adaptations have really written her differently, and I want to find the thread that makes her tick across the extended canon, I feel like I struggle with it but it's a challenge. I feel like so many fica shove her to the sidelines because she's not "the perfect love interest" but I love her stubbornness and her wit and her strong sense of self. And I also love when she's her own person and has her own story outside of Peter because she's fascinating and doesn't need to revolve around him to be a great character with a story of her own.
I haven't written anything where multiple Peter's interact, but SMH references No Way Home so much because that's the linchpin for SMH as a story, and Peter regularly compares himself to what he knows of the other Peter's and what makes him different. He also has a complex relationship with my version of Miles in SMH, coming into his own as a hero as well, and the similarities and differences are so fun to play with and highlight as their relationship grows. Again, I think it's fascinating to piece apart what makes a character THEM across different stories. It's what makes fic writing so fun in the first place tbh.

2, 3, 9, 10, 19, 20 for the fic writer asks please?
Thank you!
2. Do you read/reread your own fics?
Oh, all the time. Often as a comfort thing, because I usually really like the tropes I use in fics.
3. What’s your favorite fic that you’ve written?
Probably "Glad All Over (Cake By The Ocean)" (my slice of life comfort fic with big city Dentist Nyssa meeting surfer lady Tegan in a small Cornish town).
9. Do you write every day? If you wrote today, share a sentence of what you’ve written!
Normally, I try to write at least 400 words a day (like Terry Pratchett did) but I haven't been able to do much lately as I'm currently moving in my first house. However; I did write this evening! Here's a quick snippet (it's literally my first draft of this fic so it might not end up in the final fic)
‘I’m sorry, it is rather funny,’ Jo said, giggling. ‘I’m certain Benton won’t say a word to anyone. Although -given where your hands were going when we were dancing last night-’ ‘You little minx!’ Jo let out a happy squeal as Liz turned over and wrapped her arms around the younger woman, pressing kisses to her neck.
10. Is there a fic that got a different response than you were expecting?
Soooo many. When I was still writing for The Old Fandom, I had someone comment on a smut collection to slut-shame a female character and to say that they were apparently grossed out by another character appearing.
19. Give us a small teaser from one of your WIPs.
Oh, you guys are making me give out little teasers for fics! Love it! Here's a snippet from the chapter-in-progress for my Highwayman!AU; hope you like it!
With a sudden shock, Tegan realised that she was now straddling the phantom’s waist. The highwayman’s cloak had ballooned out behind them, and was now acting the part of a large blanket, protecting both of them from the we and muddy grass. The buttons of their shirt beginning to gap, and their legs squirmed slightly underneath Tegan. A strand of curly brown hair escaped from under their hat, trailing down over the mask that covered their eyes. As Tegan’s brown eyes met the grey-green orbs below her, she was suddenly aware that, up close, the phantom didn’t look like a man at all. In fact, with the way their chest was heaving in and out, and their face flushed a delicate pink colour, they almost looked like a- Tegan’s face flushed. ‘S-sorry!’ Tegan exclaimed, feeling her heart pounding against her chest. She was suddenly aware of her own thighs pressing into the legs of the phantom, and she made to stand up.
You guys are in for a treat with this next chapter; my apologies for the delay, it is almost nearing completion.
20. What’s a favorite title for a fic you’ve written?
"Murder On The Dancefloor" is one of my favourites, but I also like "Rivers In The Light" and "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow"; all of which are from songs I love (by Sophie Ellis-Bexter, Tide Lines and The Shirelles, respectively).
Thanks for the asks, mate!

Lab-Elevator-McDonalds for Anakin Skywalker, Viktor (Arcane), and Eobard Thawne?
get randomly assigned as your lab partner for a whole semester
Listen. You're gonna think I'm crazy, but I'm gonna pick Eobard for this one. Solely because his kills usually have specific targets (since going on a murder spree would fuck up the timeline), so as long as I don't act too smart, make sure he knows I have no personal connection to Barry Allen, and play dumb about his evil plans, I think I'd be mostly safe. Plus, he's a super genius and a perfectionist so I think we'd get a good grade.
get trapped with on a broken elevator for ten hours
Victor, as long as he hasn't gone full-on eldritch terror Machine Herald at that point. He's less annoying than Anakin and less likely to murder me than Eobard (again, unless he's turning everyone into creepy dolls at this point), so it wouldn't be too disagreeable of an experience.
get as my employee trainer for my new job at McDonalds
Anakin, because he's got leadership experience via Ahsoka and the 501st. I find him obnoxious, but he wouldn't be incompetent or micromanaging.

Barrisco, Leia/Han, and.... just for fun, Eris and Rick for the ship ask game?
Barrisco
Tumblr media
Oh here we go. I am a fan of many ships but something about this one has me abnormal on a whole nother level. They invented a new level of ship abnormal-ty for me and that is no small feat. I just. There’s no words for how I feel about them so here’s reaction images
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
…it’s the whump potential of them isn’t it?
Leia/Han
Tumblr media
Tbh I was never that into them. I see it, and I get why people like them together (their bickering married couple thing was fun), I just– don’t really care too much ya know. And tbh that applies to most SW ships for me (Jedistormpilot as a notable exception)
Eris and Rick
Tumblr media
FUCKIN— WORDS— THEY WON’T COME. <- Found em. I love them so so much. Everything I’ve read of them makes me love them more. With how well they know each other and what each other need (especially in moments of vulnerability). And battle couples are always fun and ofc THEY love each other so so much. But the “oh there’s no way this will end well” is because I know Eris is going to outlive Rick and it makes me SAD

couple/relationship asks!
8, 13, 15, 19, 32, 41
8. Have you ever written any friendships that could've easily become romantic relationships? How did you navigate it?
Funnily enough, by letting it become romantic and seeing where it goes. Eden and Astor (@tiredassmage) were written as friends for months before we looked at them and said, but what if though..? And the rest is history lol.
13. Are there any consistent trends when you write a budding relationship, or does it vary by character? If there are trends, what are they?
Hmmmm I can't think of any consistent trends off the top of my head, other than I frequently end up writing the more naive innocent character to someone else's gruffer, more world-weary character.
15. Are there any relationship dynamics/tropes you would never write?
Incest. I don't think I need to explain myself further lol.
19. Pick a work/fandom you've written for. If your couple didn't end up together, who would they get close with with instead?
I imagine they'd probably be more developed with their chosen xiv npc's (Hien in Eden's case).
32. Do you find it more fun to write soft, domestic romances, or dramatic thrillers?
I greatly enjoy writing more dramatic, action-packed scenes because I like writing about the characters doing things rather than just talking. That being said I will also dedicate full paragraphs to nothing but cuddling if no one stops me.
41. Who's your most repressed/oblivious character? Who's your most aware character? What makes them different?
The award for most repressed/oblivious probably goes to Kiana, as she spent most of her life fearing everyone around her rather than thinking they might have feelings for her. She and Arenvald spent months pining for each other before either of them made a move.
As for most aware, that honor goes to Eden, and it's not a badge she wears with pride. She used to spend more time wrestling her feelings into a chokehold and forcing them down than actually acknowledging them, and anyone expressing their interest in her would rarely see her again.

How about a former whumpee who refuses to let their scars show? Extensive tattoos over the scar tissue, ink not-quite-hiding the way the flesh doesn't lay down smooth. False teeth, bright and shiny, hiding where they were once pulled out by force. Flashy shaved-and-dyed haircuts to hide the patches where it doesn't grow quite right anymore, where they were scalped or plucked or even just put under so much stress that their hair began to fall out all on its own. They make it look intentional, make themselves look like something intense and dangerous, because they refuse to look like a victim ever again.
OUCH
Honestly don’t have anything to add because this is so so good— but MAN; I can’t even imagine how painful it would probably be to get a tattoo over scar tissue! Fitting really; extra pain to hide the pain.

Assumption: you've thought about learning another language just so you can read a book in its original language (i.e. studying Greek enough to read The Odyssey)
Hmm....I'd give this a maybe. I think it'd be nice and I really appreciate language a lot but for me to go back and learn Latin again is a learning curve but I honestly wouldn't mind it. You pick up a lot with it, oddly. It made Spanish somewhat easier for me but I'm much better at conjugating anything than really applying it to speaking or writing.

I do want to start reading your fics but I'm not sure where to begin. Do you have a favorite or two you could recommend?
that entirely depends on what you mean by "my fics"
my selfshipping ones? or the best on my ao3 (that wouldn't make me pale as a ghost to have anyone read oml)?
