Pairing 1: Emasculateshipping(Professor Cronos de Medici | Dr. Vellian Crowler/Napoleon | Jean-Louis Bonaparte)

Propaganda: As the Funny European Team Rocket Men of GX, the two are almost too obvious-- not just in how much time they spend together or how much of that time seems a bit too intimate for men who are supposedly just work buddies. The ship, with its participants being based on historical figures (obviously, Napoleon Bonaparte and the Medici family respectively), the ship therefore has a real-world historical precedent of sorts (Napoleon was Italian; two Medici women married into French royalty); the two have similar and compatible priorities (Cronos being first and foremost concerned with his babies-- ahem, *students*, while Napoleon is mostly worried about his own son; the step-father potential in Cronos is Immaculate) and, of course, the ship is very funny-- not in the least because you have two men, one single in his mid-thirties while the other is divorced in his fifties, thereby trying to navigate their relationship like a pair of stupid teenagers.

But of course, there is also serious potential in the ship as well. After all, Napoleon's divorce means that he's going to be extremely anxious about screwing up a good thing again, while for Cronos it's a potential red flag that their relationship will end in disaster. The plot of season 3 also gives them both immense pain to work through, after all that they've been helpless as their respective kids suffered. It's easy to overlook them both, especially Napoleon (I promise that's not a joke at the expense of his height, he's just kinda mainly remembered for how he's introduced in season 2 as French Cis Cronos and has little unique character of his own until Martin's introduction), but there's absolutely something to engage with both in the characters themselves and in the interactions between them.

Also they literally went on a picnic date while watching Judai duel once they're gay your honor

Pairing 2: Tomorrowshipping(Tenjouin Asuka | Alexis Rhodes/Jim Crocodile Cook)

Propaganda: They complete each other! Jim’s focus on the past vs Asuka’s focus on the future, Jim’s nature theming vs Asuka’s technology theming, the way their attitudes complement one another. Not to mention “Tomorrow Girl,” the cutest nickname in the world.

Now, let’s keep things civil. This is a silly poll where we can share why we love our overlooked ships. There’s no need to be nasty to prove your point.  Bashers will be consumed by darkness.

Assigning Final Fantasy summons to GX characters because why not?

With specifications on which version of the summons I've assigned them, only some genuine explanations of my thought process, and I will take no criticisms 😌

In my mind how this works is that the summons function like they do in 13 at least at least to a certain point. Like how they obtain their summon at some point throughout whatever story is being told here, or maybe some of them have obtained them already, and they're summoned via crystals in the heat of battle when needed. So in my mind as I'm picturing all of this, I'm picturing the 13 summoning technique to an extent.

Alright, let's get into it!

Jaden - Anima (FFX)

If you know the Anima lore you know this is actually so big brain

Yubel -> Anima

Syrus - Valefor (FFX)

I like the idea of Sy and Zane having a similar type of summon (Zane gets Bahamut, spoilers) with them both being creatures that fly, a dragon and a big bird. But Sy's is weaker in power and has a gentler spirit, but that spirit is strong. Very thematically accurate for them.

He could also have Doomtrain to sync up with his deck archetype I think that would be funny

But he gets Valefor because I have a lot of sentimental value towards her and she's one of my favorite summons and he's my favorite and I said so 😌

Chazz - Ixion (FFX)

My favorite lightning summon

Thunder boy and his lightning horsie ⚡

I would honestly just love to see it

Alexis - Shiva (FFX version cuz she's my fav summon period)

Decks are being taken into account and she plays an ice deck in the manga and while she's in the society of light in season 2 🧊

I don't have a crazy in depth explanation for this I just feel it in my soul. I've always said she would be a Shiva girl like me even without her and Atty both having an ice elemental association betwixt all the GX media.

Atticus - Diablos (FFVIII)

Nightshroud -> Darkness -> Diablos.

Another big brain choice actually

He could've also had Shiva pretty easily tbh and I considered that, but ultimately went with Diablos for the Darkness representation.

I mean come in, the guy is basically possessed by the main evil entity of the show and Diablos is essentially the devil.

Bastion - Leviathan (FFVIII)

His ace monster is Water Dragon, come on now. 💧🐉

Hassleberry - Titan (FFXV)

Titan is a big strong man as is our boy

Also he's Earth element and if Hassleberry had an element he would be Earth I feel it in my non-dinosaur bones.

Sadly there are no dinosaur summons I'm sorry bby 😞

Chumley - Choco/Mog (FFVII)

I'll be so for real I had such a hard time figuring out Chumley like from the summons I had left to choose from cuz I added Blair and Chumley to the list last, I couldn't find one I thought fit super great

But as I was going over the summons lists again I pictured these guys appearing alongside Chum and I just smiled. It just made me smile and so does he.

Sometimes it's just that simple.

But I did also consider Fenrir as an option as well.

Blair - Siren (FFVIII)

Siren specializes in status ailments (silence specifically) and you could argue her love deck reolves around a status ailment, namely Maiden In Love causing male monsters to fall in love with her, which actually is sort of a thing in some FFs through the Lamia enemy but shhhh

8's Siren can also heal status ailments so that gives Blair more abilities available to her to support the party

Valefor would've been another choice for her I just feel the vibe there but I want Sy to have her so 😌

Garuda could be another decent potential choice for her as more of a combative summon than a support summon, I feel that vibe too.

But I dunno I was just drawn to Siren for her so there you go.

Zane - Bahamut (FFVII Remake or FFXIII/XIII-2)

Dragon

Bahamut is typically among the most powerful of all the summons if not the most powerful depending on the game.

I'm wrestling between 7R and 13, 7R has almost some cybernetic action going on that gives me Cyber End energy while maintaining the classic dragon design, and 13 has Chaos Bahamut in 13-2 so he could have Bahamut then it could morph into Chaos Bahamut once he enters the Edgelord Supreme era to facilitate the shift from Cyber End to Cyber Dark if you follow my brain's logic

Aster - Phoenix (FFXVI)

......I-I mean..... Phoenix... Aster.... Aster Phoenix..... 😅

I literally could not resist 🤭

I would also except Odin for him though I think that would be cool too that's a vibe

Jesse - Carbuncle (FFVI)

Axel - Ifrit (FFX)

The perfected classic design imo

Jim - Syldra (FFV)

Syldra was Faris's pet and best friend since childhood who became a summon later in the game after sacrificing herself. Very reminiscent of Shirley being Jim's best friend/pet/protector since they were both young.

The implications of of the idea of Shirley sacrificing herself for Jim and becoming the summon makes me upset tho so we can just delete any timeline where that happens 😁

Crowler - Alexander (FFVIII or FFXIII)

Alexander is typically a machine or like a straight building or structure of some kind and Crowler plays Ancient Gears so 🏰

8 is a very good classic Alexander, just a great summon, and 13's I have a lot of sentimental value for but also him being a guy that turns into a defensive wall in Gestalt mode and with the way Crowler will put himself between harm and the kids at times.... thematically accurate Alexander?

Crowler wouldn't be beating the Dad allegations any time soon with that version on his side

7 Rebirth's Alexander is a close 3rd choice I think too I really like that design

With Alexander I was trying to think about practicality cuz they're all so massive and occasionally story relevant so he's not always a readily available summon so I sadly ruled out 9 and Type-0 as much as I really wanted him to have either of those too

Really wrestling with the specifics of this one

Sheppard - Ramuh (FFIX)

Wise old man

Sheppard is kinda dumb tho and makes some questionable decisions but he means well he's got the spirit

Banner - Chaos (FFXII)

In the lore, Chaos died and and was reborn several times.

Banner died and was reborn when he transferred himself into a new body, then he died, then still stuck around as a ghost.

Debated switching Phoenix from Aster to Banner and finding another one for Aster but clearly I did not lol

Also considered Phantom from 6 because it's just a ghost and uh.... Ghost Banner. But Chaos is cooler.

Adrian - Zalera (FFXII)

I was gonna give him Odin because of the insta kill move and how he had Exodia which is an automatic win but then I was looking at the summons list and was looking through the 12 Espers and listen.

Zalera is an Esper of death who clutches a woman in his arms and uses her wails to inflict death.

This really reminds me of Echo clutched in Exodia's hand screaming as she's being murdered by Adrian in the interest of obtaining Exodia.

Plus we had no 12 representation I chose Banner's after this and as 12 is my second favorite ff behind 10/10-2 that is criminal.

Bastion/Daichi: I will allow the token straight man. Tanya.

Alexis/Asuka: No one. she ducks out of the way of Chazz and immediately slams into her brother, knocking him off balance. results of that are in Zane’s section.

Zane/Ryo: gives Sy a head kiss and gets sent to the floor by Atticus

Atticus/Fubuki: Tried for Zane, but body-slammed him after Alexis knocked him over.

Blair/Rei: Jokingly goes for Chazz (running for the bathroom), then Zane (on the floor after Atticus full body decked him), then Jaden (Jesse’s tongue is down his throat)

It was a normal day at Duel Academy, Chazz simped over Alexis when Atticus came over and beat his ass, Zane was figuring out how to add even more pain to himself when dueling, Syrus having at least 3 mental breakdowns, many students screaming and running away from Shirley, Jesse talking in his Texas accent despite being from the North, Blair, Hassleberry, Alexis, Syrus and many more simping over Jaden, Aster finding out how to get more ways of beating someone up while watching Batman, Bastion writing formulas on any surface he can write on, Adrian planning on world domination on his private yacht, Axel doing...his own thing and finally Jaden sleeping in class while Crowler was teaching his students.

Jaden had a wonderful dream of fried shrimp when Crowler woke him up, "Jaden, can you tell me what is the answer to this question?"

Jaden began sweating bullets, he didn't know, but he needed to say something, he didn't want to go to detention like a certain indigo haired duelist did, "Uh...16?"

Crowler's eyes widened as he looked at board, with many other students widening from shock, "That...is...correct."

"CORRECT!?!" yelled every single person in Duel Academy as then all hell broke loose.

The ground started shaking as something fell from the sky, Chazz got up from his seat, "EVERY MAN AND WOMAN FOR THEMSELVES!" he yelled as he got his AK-47.

Crowler escaped from all of this due to a trap door beneath him, Aster and Adrian began beating everyone that stood in their way, Zane threw shock collars at everyone, Syrus fell to the ground and began crying, Hassleberry ran towards Jaden and ran to the Red dorm on his shoulders, Jim let Shirley go, some students, which included all of Jaden's friends, got their own guns and began firing.

Why?

Because Jaden got a Math question correct.

- Obviously Jaden's the Avatar lol. Avatar Jaden of the Fire Nation (since he's a big fan of red and all 🤭)

- Fire Prince Chazz, Lightningbender ⚡⚡⚡

- Dragons are a thing so Light and Darkness Dragon anyone?? 👀👀

- Atticus is a Waterbender, but Nightshroud is a Bloodbender 👻

- Atty and Lex are prince and princess of the Northern Water Tribe

- Alexis is also a Waterbender but since in the North it's forbidden for women to learn Waterbending except for healing purposes (at least it is in ATLA, clearly that's not the case anymore in LOK since y'know, Eska. But this is my brain I can use whatever lore I want aksksk), Atticus taught her how to Waterbend himself in secret 🤫

- Zane and Syrus are mixed nations like Mako and Bolin, Zane is a Metalbender but Sy is a Waterbender

- Syrus specializes in healing, not combat. I imagine Zane treats him basically like he's a helpless non-bender as a result. But in that mean basically telling him he's useless way that he would, not in a protective brother kind of way. He understands it's a very valuable skill but really wished his brother could fight and fend for himself so he didn't have to be protected all the time.

- Very high concentration of Earth Kingdom squad members lol

- Bastion gives me Earth Kingdom vibes but also I feel like he would be a Waterbender because Water Dragon 🤔 can't decide 🤔

- Jim's Earth Kingdom but a non-bender. I imagine in the equivalent to the accident that lost him his eye as a kid he just went blind. Shirley is his seeing eye Crocogator 🐊 (y'know, since basically all the animals are hybrids 🤭 i know Catgators and Crococats exist but this is funnier and I can make jokes about her totally just being a normal Croc that Jim's passing off as a cross between a Catgator and a Crococat 🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭)

- Jim's a mega badass swordsman though even with the blindness. Wouldn't be surprised if he had some Earthbending power lying dormant inside him, like a fossil waiting to be unearthed (no pun intended 🤭), but he's more than content to be a regular human, he doesn't need bending to enjoy his life.

- Hassleberry's 100% an Earthbender. Dude can probably even Lavabend but that's a big maybe. (I mean volcanoes helped kill the dinosaurs and all too so)

- My guy Crowler teaches at the University of Ba Sing Se and if he's a bender he's probably a Metalbender (cuz y'know, Ancient Gears. I am taking their decks somewhat into account here 🤭), probably a member of the White Lotus

- Sheppard's got that Airbending Master status babyyyy, also the current Grand Lotus, just chilling with his non-bending wife Dorothy 😌

- Slade vs. Chazz in a fucking Agni Kai, a la episode 35 !! (🤜🔥 🔥⚡🤛)

- Jaden has a Firebending block similar to Zuko at some point, but because his fire comes from his passion, not hate. In his emo era his passion is gone and he has to find it again and reignite his inner fire!

- Jesse's got those Earth Kingdom green eyes, probably from the Earth Kingdom, but I think he has some Air Nomad heritage in there. He's very connected to his spirituality and the spirit world. Kinda gives me Jinora vibes in that area, he definitely is a very spirit heavy guy. Crystal Beasts, am I right?

- Jesse could've been the Avatar if the cycle wasn't up to fire at the time. (Literally forget any and all timelines none of that matters this isn't a crossover we're talking about. Full au so continuity be damned! All that matters is that the Avatar cycle is now at fire 🔥)

- Axel's Fire Nation I mean c'mon his whole thing is fire aksksk, strong Firebender and probably in the Fire Nation Army too somewhere. A good man though, a very honorable and just guy, not a shitty shitty bad Firebender as is the general consensus in the world about Firebenders most of the time it seems.

- Aster also gives me Water Tribe vibes but like only kinda, he's hard to nail down element wise...... 🤔 he's got the blue eyes so I'm gonna say Water Tribe atm we'll see if my brain agrees with that later. Whether North or South idk, I'm still on the fence about him being a Waterbender but water is my favorite so not gonna complain about making more Waterbenders..... 🤔

- His dad was a non-bender and was 100% killed by a Firebender though. That would cause issues with him and Jaden since Jaden is a Firebender Avatar. Oof there you go, Aster's whole like fucking "you can't hide from destiny" batman era bullshit?? He's going around beating up Firebenders because he doesn't know who exactly killed his father ooooooooo 👀👀👀 (I guess kinda like Katara I guess in a way but also not really I mean she saw the guy who did it, not that she knew exactly who he was without Zuko's help figuring that out but shhhhh remember none of that's important right now 🤫)

That's all I got at the moment. Like I said I don't know if I'd ever actually write this, I know I have way too much on my plate right now to even think about this in a more on the table way than this but my brain won't stop so I have to indulge aksksk

Echo has had several crushes over the years, such as Tanya but helped her get with Bastion because by Ra those two were in love. She had dated Harrington Rosewood for a while before finding out he had used to to get close to Alexis. 

The gala had certainty been entertaining when they’d banded together to humiliate him in front of everyone. 

She also had a crush on Jim, but his sweet aro self only saw her as a friend and you know what she was cool with that. To her that was all the crushes she had.m

But Jim was very good a noticing things about others, things they themselves usually didn’t realise. Some say it was because of having the oracalous eye for so long but who really knew, Jim was just good at seeing what others could not. 

Such as, the way Echo looked at Alexis, and how Alexis looked at Echo despite both being completely oblivious to it. And Jim being the good friend that he was wanted to help nudge them together, Shirley was also keen to play matchmaker. 

But this wasn't something he could do alone, so he gathered their friends and told them what he had seen. 

“Huh...now that you mention it” said Chazz with a slow look of realisation on his face. It made sense, it really did. They were all close, but those too especially had always been attached at the hip. Jaden nodded, even he saw it though how could he not? He recognised the look Echo gave Alexis when she was complimenting her, it was the same way Jesse looked at him.

All of them looked at each other in agreement.

"But no ones telling Adrian" said Zane, a small smirk on his face that was soon shared by the rest.

Alexis blinked in surprise when she saw Echo sat in the cafe. "Hey, didn't think I'd see you here" she said, taking a seat across from her. Echo smiled back in greeting "Hey, yeah I'm supposed to be meeting up with Jim." She said, not noticing the look of sadness that flickered across Alexis face before she nodded with a smile.

"Mhm? Yeah you finally ask him out? I'm not intruding am I?" Echo scoffed, rolling her eyes fondly. "Nah I shot my shot but he wasn't interested in being anything more than friends. We're just hanging out, getting some tea and that. What about you?" She asked, Alexis nodded feeling a lot more relieved.

"Bastion and I were gonna revise for a bit before our oncoming test... And write up the revision timetable for the others." She explained, Echo nodded "I'm more suprised he left his room." Alexis chuckled "oh don't even, I had to bribe him it was that bad. I'm not spending another moment in the equation hell he falls a dorm room." She said with a shudder.

Echo laughed, and why was it that the sunlight just shone through the window and hit her just right. She looked ethereal, almost glowing and her laugh was like the twinkling of bells... And Alexis has to make herself focus because now wasnt the time!

"Well we might as well wait together" said Echo, almost face-palming at her own words. Really? Why was it now she couldn't think of anything smooth to say, she could when it was Jim. But she always got a bit tongue tied when she was with Alexis.

Which was crazy because they had been friends since they were kids.

But the other had been occupying her thoughts a lot lately, far more than Echo was ready to admit. She couldn't have a crush on Alexis, what if it ruined their friendship and made things werid, and besides Alexis was not into girls.

Meanwhile, Alexis was rummaging through her bag, pulling out some textbooks and her notebook. She needed something to focus on that wasn't Echo. She cursed Bastion for taking so long and started their revision timetable herself.

Empty cafe she slammed her hands on the table and said "Alexis... I have a crush on you.... And I know that's werid and completely outta nowhere but I had to say it now or I never would... And I know I've put you on the spot like that and that's pretty arsy of me and I-"

She was cut off from her rambling by Alexis a shushing her with her finger to her lips. Echo just froze, afraid to do anything else.

"You... Wait what... But you don't like girls?" Spluttered Echo, a far cry from her usual calm and collected self. Alexis smiled a little twiddling her fingers "I.. I do, I thought I didn't but I did? And... I was gonna tell you guys when I figured it out but they already figured it out but I guess you didn't?" She said, also rambling.

Echo... Filed the thoughts of taking off to commit murder aside and just focused on the words said before her.

"Well fuck me...no one decided to share that" She sighed, absorbing it all. Alexis snorted, despite herself "I'd like for you to atleast take me out for dinner first." Echo snorted, feeling herself relax. "Well, we're already here...? And I'm getting the feeling this was staged so we might as well make the most of it." She said, noticing just how empty and quiet the cafe was...the waiter had set their tea's down and vanished.

"Looks like it" said Alexis, taking a sip of her tea and putting down her work. "So, why me?" Asked Alexis, curious. Echo looked into her teacup, thoughtful "besides you being possibly the coolest person I've ever met? You're funny, not to mention hot, and you're just... You make things that should be boring sound fun and interesting. You're hard working, you're just a breath of fresh air." Said Echo.

Alexis blushed bright red "well, I'm waiting" smirked Echo. "You're also hot if that's what you wanted to hear, smart, you're one of my closest friends and I like being around you. It's like the world's upside down and spinning in the nicest way possible. Seeing you with your frogs, dualing just makes me feel happy." Said Alexis, making it Echo's turn to blush.

"Man we're idiots... We could've been having cute dates and kissing each other in coffee shops instead of all this hiding." Sighed Echo, Alexis chuckled "well, no time like the present?" And than they were both staring into each others eyes, smiling as the gap started to close between them...

"What are you both doing?!"

Both of them jumped, seeing Adrian standing before them with his arms folded.

Blair Flanagan— listen most people would not kick a child but I would. I would be able to punt Blair into the fucking sun. what’s she gonna do? she’s tiny and she literally fights with love. kill em with kindness? wrong, that second grader is about to feel my wrath.

Zane Truesdale— I may be disabled but God hasn’t slapped my ass into a wheelchair yet. I’d knock him out of his chair and beat him over the head with it. i am allowed to do so because I am disabled. I will be taking no criticism at this time. on the other hand I think wheelchair jousting would be fucking hilarious (and I’d still beat Zane at it) but this is fisticuffs only. one good hit to the face and he’s down. maybe i get lucky and punch him hard enough in the chest that I straight up kill him.

Alexis Rhodes— I definitely could beat her in a fight. She probably bites but I bite harder. I’ve been wearing my retainer like a good kid and my teeth are straight and poised and ready to attack.

Dr. Crowler— We’ve seen Crowler in a skintight wetsuit multiple times and there is no muscle there. I will full nelson him into giving me an A. Also he has a major disadvantage that is Long Hair. yankin time.

Syrus Truesdale— I know I said I could beat up Blair because she’s tiny but Syrus could hold his own against me. He is a feral little fuck and contains a lot of repressed childhood anger that he would def let out in a physical fight. I’d still win, but barely.

Atticus Rhodes— canonically ripped but less ripped than everyone else on this list. one good kick to the nuts and it’d be over. he’s very sensitive. you wanna fight fair, atty? too bad it’s testicular torsion time

Chazz Princeton— not ripped but have you seen him beat the shit outta Ojama Yellow? He’d kick the stuffing out of me. also definitely tapping into his trauma. anyway he’d win because he’s a feral sewer rat that thrives off of yellow’s screams for mercy.

Jaden Yuki— this is where it got tough. Jaden is canonically a buff guy (pushed car up hill) but he’s also guilt ridden from literally killing his friends once. I still think he’d win because there is no way I am getting that slippery autistic lizard motherfucker in any kind of hold.

Adrian Gecko— okay now we’re getting into the real problems. everyone from here on out has canonical bulging ass muscles that I physically could not hold up against. sorry what was I saying? oh right adrian. he’d win. fuck you adrian. moving on.

Jesse Anderson— I’d have a maybe 10% chance of winning if I got close enough to purple nurple his ass. I’d try a nut kick but Jesse is way smarter than atticus and would show up wearing a cup. also buff as hell.

Jim Cook— I’d only have a chance because this is fisticuffs only and Shirley is not allowed in the fight. also Jim has a six-pack. he is 100% muscle and would whoop my ass with zero goddamn mercy.

Axel Brodie— can canonically hang upside down and still think clearly. I am not getting that man to pass out in any kind of chokehold. he would simple gaston-style flex and send me flying.
