I tend to always send this one to people for the WIP word game, but: hand(s)
this one is so fun <3 I have 13 instances of this word in my whumptober stories document currently <3
under the cut: mentions of blood, scars, implied injuries :)
So why did Hazel, with his twisting scars, his rough hands that knew their way around a fight, and the flicker of something deep and sad beneath his gaze that suggested he had seen and experienced horrors equal to Alik’s own, know these beasts? And why did he fear them?
His hands were slender and steady as he slipped the contents of a vial into an acrid smelling beaker.
He couldn’t feel his hands or feet, but at least he couldn’t feel the pain in them.
His hands started to shake, and goosebumps ran up the back of his neck.
Groaning, he buried his face in the pillows and batted his hands in the direction of the paws on his bed.
Rye stared at the tea in her chipped mug. Her eyes burned with tears she refused to shed, and her hands shook.
Their hands and arms were swathed in clean cloth bandages, and Rye’s heart clenched.
Niss stared hard at her hands, nails digging deep into the flesh of her palms.
Misery’s voice cracked, and her hands shook.
Misery braced herself, steeling her shaking hands, and stepped off the edge of the crumbled dreamcell into oblivion.
Misery’s hands dripped black, blood on tattoos on grey skin.
Misery grimaced and flicked the blood off her hands.
She stepped out of the bloodstained patch of grass and sat down, closing her tired eyes and resting her head in her hands.
