The way that hangman instantly starts to regret his actions the moment the cage lifts and he can walk out is gut wrenching because you can see the fog of hatred and need for vengeance clear and he doesn’t like what he has become and what he’s done. The emotions of regret and grief are so clear as he stands there with his lip quivering and eyes starting to tear up. He just beat a man so bad that the match was called off and he doesn’t know what to do with himself or the level of violence he just enacted. His gut instinct is to go back and check on swerve but the crowd start to scream and beg him to stop because they no longer trust that he’s capable of the level of care and kindness he once was known for. The crowd that cheered, loved and supported him without question are now scared of him and what he’s capable of and he realizes that in the moment and it’s heartbreaking. And he’s going to have to come to terms with the fact that he became the monster he initially fought against and figure out who he is after this and how to move forward from it.

I mean you simply cannot get anymore insane that a fucking straight up chairshot to the head, a wonderfully brutal finish to an absolutely disgusting match.

Just, amazing man, this is what a blood feud is all about, Professional wrestling is about anger, and hatred, and violence and they fucking DID IT FULL BLOWN TONIGHT RAAAAAHHHHH.

Some fantastical and (mostly queer) books to read for Hispanic Heritage Month!

I've read most of these, Gods of Jade and Shadow and The Name Bearer are on my TBR and I've heard really good things about them. The Forgotten Lyric and Spellbound are in my top five reads this year, and I really enjoyed The Wicked Bargain and All Out.

i know i'm almost 2 months late but i finally got a good angle of jack vs bryan from all out and Oh my god i didn't realize just how devastating this was, esp the small details. my heart ACHES at first he doesn't see killswitch come in because he's laid by the ropes, hiding his face from the crowd after losing. (mind you he'd screamed that he wasn't scared of bryan TWICE before the match. though he stood tall when he lost, surely he wasn't happy.) the crowd starts booing and that's when he realizes somebody is in the ring.. and the way he kinda just.. sits there for a second when he sees killswitch. like he can't believe it. maybe he thought killswitch was there for him. that hurts enough. he stares a hole through him until the crowd starts singing tarzan boy and doing the little hand wave. and strangely enough, he looks over, responding to it. he actually acknowledges the past for a brief moment, which is something his character tends to avoid now that he's become an embodiment of his trauma as the scapegoat. killswitch is doing that little head tilt just like old times, really because jack perry is a far cry of who he once was, the person luchasaurus proudly sat on his shoulders and called his friend. he looked different too. and when christian's music hits, he doesn't even flinch. he freezes like he'd forgotten that it was in fact killswitch standing in front of him, not luchasaurus, and he wasn't here to save him. after all, luchasaurus died with jungle boy. and then you have to sit and wonder. is jack still affected by christian? does jack care about the patriarchy? is part of the scapegoat holding onto christian and what he did to him? if christian had come any later or hadn't at all, would luchasaurus have changed his mind?

oh, and to make matters worse, not only was jack confronted by his past after losing, but he once again lost a world title match in front of christian. so maybe he was right after all. it's 10 pm and i have college tomorrow morning. goodnight
