Happy International Asexuality Day!
Here are some books with ace and/or demisexual characters. A majority of them are the main, but in the case of some they are the love interest.

Have you read The Whispers by Greg Howard?
If not, I 10000% recommend it!!! It's so beautifully written, sad and heartbreaking, but also hopeful and lovely, and it's all in a child's POV, which I personally love because this author manages to write it so well and authentic
I bought the book and my mom said it looked interesting and asked me if she could borrow it. I obviously did. She read it and told me she didn't stop crying for like half an hour with the ending and literally begged me to pause all my books in my list to read it😂
And holy shit was she right, it was gorgeous!!! One of my top favorite books😍
I have not.
I will immediately put it on my TBR (I don't even have one lmao) because I trust your judgment and love your taste. I need to see if I can get this book here locally.
Thank you (and aunty!) for the rec ❤️

It's Non-fiction November! And as I started to read more non-fiction this year, I decided to share some favorites of 2022 for anyone looking for something to read this month or who wants to get out of their comfort zone! In no particular order:
Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner
A memoir about how Zauner's mother's diagnosis of terminal cancer forced a reckoning with her identity and brought her to reclaim the gifts of taste, language, and history her mother had given her.
Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood by Trevor Noah
Trevor Noah shares his story of growing up in South Africa, with a black South African mother and a white European father at a time when it was against the law for a mixed-race child like him to exist.
Last Witnesses: An Oral History of the Children of World War II by Svetlana Alexievich
Stories about what it was like to be a Soviet child during the upheaval and horror of the Second World War.
In The Dream House by Carmen Maria Machado
An ccount of a relationship gone bad, and a bold dissection of the mechanisms and cultural representations of psychological abuse. Tracing the full arc of a harrowing relationship with a charismatic but volatile woman, Machado struggles to make sense of how what happened to her shaped the person she was becoming.
The Windrush Betrayal by Amelia Gentleman:
The story of the investigation of Britain's 'hostile environment' immigration policy that led to thousands of law-abiding people being wrongly classified as illegal immigrants, with many being removed from the country, and many more losing their homes and their jobs.
Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi
Persepolis is the story of Satrapi's unforgettable childhood and coming of age within a large and loving family in Tehran during the Islamic Revolution.
Have you read any of these books? Are you guys reading anything for Non-fiction November? :)

i don’t usually post book recs, but Born a Crime by Trevor Noah left me sitting and staring at my wall for 20 minutes trying to process the ending of it and i just loved reading it.
the writing style and comedy in it made it super interesting and i absolutely love the overarching theme of the world trying to make you choose sides, when sometimes there isn’t a right side to pick.
and to think that this was an assignment for my AP Lang class and i thought i wouldn’t like it bc it is nonfiction

If you want some slightly wacky music to go along with your reading of the raven cycle…
Ley Line (by Jacob Cooper and performed by cellist Ashley Bathgate) is my go to trc song because I mean it really is about ley lines and you can FEEL it
The energy is so so good and it always makes me think of the climax of trk and maybe also just Noah and the ley line in general and also Persephone scrying and all the crazy sinister stuff the fox way women and Adam get tangled up in
(Plus some parts of the song are performed with TWO CELLO BOWS AT ONCE which is AWESOME)
(Plus I just saw the two of them perform live (!!) and that was also awesome)

Hello, lovely human! I'm glad to see you at this little corner of the internet :))
I'm Arianna (she/her) -- writer, poet, queer Christian, feminist, ENFJ, and constant fangirl. I've wanted to live in a library since I entered the world; if you wanted to describe me in book characters....think Nina Zenik crossed with Elizabeth Bennet, Wylan Van Sunshine, Holly Munro, and Samwise Gamgee. I'm always dreaming of other worlds while learning to love this one.
What can you expect to see here? well, a lot of excited ramblings; book quotes, moodboards, random thoughts, and original poetry. I'm deeply passionate about mental health ( sideblog link at the bottom) and much of my poetry reflects that. I battle anxiety, depression, and OCD; literature and art has become my greatest coping mechanism and teacher. the only thing I love more than sunsets are sunrises; I fall in love with the little things everyday. the stars are the greatest comfort :) at this given moment, I'm probably working on my novel; listening toHozier/Florence+the Machine/ Noah Kahan while sketching or painting; putting even more books on my library hold list, cuddling my cats, or fangirling over old poetry.

(Doodle from the amazing @twanettee)
here are some flowers for you!

have a beautiful day :))
NOTE: I have three side blogs you can check out! @sunrisethoughts02 — self care, mental health positive energy — and @portlandrowismyhome where I can talk (and write!) about my comfort series, Lockwood and Co, as well as @sunrisestudyblr (a study blog) 💗
NOTE: if you’re following me for the sole purpose of poetry and don’t necessarily want all of the 2am thoughts/song recs/fanart/randomness, I totally understand! Please let me know if you’d like me to tag you in poetry posts so you don’t miss it :)

hi!!! I just got into td again after being a fan when I was a kid but anyways I read ur fic collateral (and then all ur other ones) and now I’m frothing at the mouth for more. Any recs?? Thanks!!! 🤍🤍
It's been a while since I sat down and just read Alenoah fics. (Probably since August/September. I read them once and then quickly moved onto writing.) But I will do my best to remember some good ones for you :) Well, let’s send you to the fan favorite 'slippery slopes'. A world tour rewrite where Heather gets voted out in I See London instead of Noah. Completed. This author has a lot of other one-shots you could check out as well. 125k words. I enjoy to 'set ablaze, or rekindle a flame?'. It was supposed to be a roommate semester abroad high school AU, however, it's incomplete and just has some decent banter worth reading for now :) (COME BACK AUTHOR!!) 16k words. The fic 'The Sweet to my Bitter, the Sugar to my Coffee' is cute. During a Total Drama reunion the cast play matchmakers for Noah and Alejandro. Completed. 31k words. 'Books and looks'. Noah is a book barista AU. Alejandro thinks he's got nice hair. Completed. 4.4k words.
'Inescapable' is also a good one :). Post-Total Drama Island, College AU. Noah works at a smoothie place, while attending college, and reunites with some old Total Drama contestants. Alejandro being one of them. Completed. 62k words.
Aquarium date fic. 'privileges revoked (no more gift shops for you)'. Completed. 4.6k words. You could join my fanfic discord(pinned) if you want as well :)

Be thankful for who you are today, and do better than those who came before you.

I live on Iroquois land, specifically the Mohawk region. The Iroquois, or Five Nations, was brought together by Deganawidah the Great Peacemaker, and it was composed of the nations Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga, Seneca.
Later on the Tuscaroras joined, and they became Haudenosaunee, or 'six separate nations.'
Happy Thanksgiving, keep your minds open, never stop learning, and don't let history become forgotten. The majority of us are already do a damn poor job of not repeating it.

Have you watched Sweet Tooth?? It's on Netflix and if you haven't I 100% recommend it. I just finished it last week and IT WAS SO GOOD WTF???
Also, I finally finished reading*The house in the cerulean sea" after postponing it for AGES, and it's so good and sweet and deep I am marveled at the writer! But talking about it, no spoilers, it's about a world with magical creatures and the company that deals with it discretely, but the story centers in a special orphanage with special kids. And one of them is suppose to be the Antichrist, his name is Lucy AND he reminds me so much of Lance🥺🥺. It's like the snarky little shit Lance is now but a younger version!! He is dramatic, sarcastic, tries to scare people away, but in reality he is a softie who doesn't want to cause any harm and feels guilty that the people he loves get hurt because of him even if it's not his fault because he loves his family with his whole heart that is so big😭. And the director is called Arthur!! And he is just like David Beauchamp!!! He's kind, and smart and always giving so much love and care even if he didn't have that growing up... You should definitely read it if you haven't, and if you have you should make a 10 page essay about it because I AM OBSESSED. 10/10
I have seen the trailer for the Sweet Tooth (it has a cute kiddo hehe). I will check it out! I am about to start Succession and I already know I will get obsessed.
The house in the cerulean sea is actually on my list. it came up when I was looking for queer book recs 👀
I will definitely read it when it's recommended by you :))))
Thanks babydoll 💖
