Hi, good mornining! I saw your recent post, and I have few questions. 1) have you previously done a review of Og!MJ's character or anything about her actress' interview? Bcs its my first time hearing (reading) that she is like that. I would like to know more about it, please? 2) i've been looking for ages for more information regarding michelle's family, where did you find the deleted scene? I've never heard about that. :( Thank you for your help and contribution to this fandom!
Hi♥
have you previously done a review of Og!MJ's character or anything about her actress' interview? Bcs its my first time hearing (reading) that she is like that. I would like to know more about it, please?
Instead of supporting the new Spider-man (and yes, she’s entitled to her own opinion but c’mon, this comes as really petty from her part), she decided to criticize him back when everyone was criticizing the new spider-man. Back then everyone was doubting Tom; saying he was either too young, looked too skinny to fit in the role, or didn’t have what was necessary to be spider-man. This happens almost all the time with all kinds of actors. This happened with Gal Gadot when she got the role of Wonder Woman, same with Candice Patton when she got the role of Iris West, etc. Kirsten was one of them, she even suggested Tom was doing it only for the money. She didn’t stop and see the effort he was putting into the character, she could’ve even reached out to him or Laura Harrier (who was the female lead at the time) to congratulate them. Andrew Garfield didn’t have a problem doing that;
"If I am being totally honest, I am so excited Spider-Man is back in the hands of Marvel. I think that's a really awesome move.”
This happens a lot with cancel culture too, people are quick to judge something they usually don’t even know.
She told Marie Claire magazine, “We made the best ones, so who cares? I’m like, ‘You make it all you want.’ They’re just milking that cow for money. It’s so obvious. You know what I mean? I don’t care. Everyone likes our Spider-Man. Come on, am I right or what? Listen, I’d rather be in the first ones than the new ones.”
And this was Holland’s response to her:
“She’s entitled to her own opinion and I’m not one to judge at all. I definitely am not doing this movie for the money. I mean, it’s a job that I think anyone would do regardless of what you were getting paid, you know? All I know is I had the greatest time on this movie and I absolutely loved it and, you know, if she doesn’t want to go and see it, I don’t really care. I don’t dislike her in any way for what she said and she’s entitled to her opinion, so it’s all cool,”
She could’ve handled this with more class tbh. But still, I’m guessing she can change her mind anytime she wants.
i've been looking for ages for more information regarding michelle's family, where did you find the deleted scene? I've never heard about that.
"There was a moment when they come back from Washington in Homecoming — I don't think it made it into the movie — where you get the sense where she clearly doesn't have someone there to pick her up and meet her at the bus and May and Peter offer to give her a ride home. You get a sense maybe there's some sad home life going on." writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. They wrote the script for Spider-man: Homecoming.
This is the part that bothers me about her character. They don’t even bother with her. Like, this scene was not even filmed because it’s not between the deleted scenes in the DVD, or at least they didn’t consider the scene to be worthy to be there. If she was going to be an important character, why don’t they let her have a storyline or at least let the audience know more about her?
Take into consideration that we knew Mary Jane Watson’s family (Philip and Madeline), inspirations and daily life (She was a waitress, a former actress, a Jazz club singer, was in the broadway theater, she loves modeling and worked to develop independence and smarts, etc) and story (In order to escape her abusive, alcoholic father she pursues a career in acting to find more freedom and self-direction) in the Raimi’s films.
Mary Jane: Oh. They said I needed acting lessons. A *soap opera* told me I needed acting lessons.
Peter: Lemme buy you a cheeseburger. The sky's the limit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We knew Gwen Stacy’s family (George, Helen, Philip, Howard, Simon), inspirations and daily life (She was a lab assistant to Dr. Curt Connors before becoming the senior research officer at Oscorp Industries, she was the valedictorian of her school, one of Midtown's star students, she’s in the debate team, she used to help Flash with his homework, got the antidote to replace the reptilian serum, she was going to go to Oxford with a scholarship in molecular medicine, etc) and story (her father was the captain of the New York Police Department who strongly wants Spider-man not to involve her daughter in his superhero life while she’s head intern turned senior research officer to Dr. Connors who is the world's foremost authority on herpetology and is studying to follow her dream career in molecular medicine) in the Amazing Spiderman.
Gwen: I have to go to England, Peter. It's important to me. I mean, maybe we're on different paths right now. You know? I don't know. Maybe we're just going different ways.
Peter: Gwen. Good luck.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We knew Liz Allan/Toomes’ family (Adrian and Doris), inspirations and daily life (academic goals, has parties, discusses normal things with friends like crushes and superheroes, Betty is her best friend, wants everyone to have a bright future, reads coaching books and watches TED talks to motivate her team, she’s also the head of the dance and planning committee, one of the top students in Midtown, she’s the captain of the decathlon team, she mentioned she struggled to balance school and other priorities as a sophomore, etc) and story (While she was busy studying and building a career for herself, her father was selling illegal alien weapons and was in the trading business behind her and her mother’s back) in Homecoming.
Peter: Wow, you really... This is really important to you.
Liz: Yeah. It’s our future. I’m not gonna screw it up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It feels like they’re involved in the story, like they’re actually main characters instead of being the love interest only. And take into consideration that I don’t even like Mary Jane from the Raimi’s films.
Isn’t it weird that we don’t know anything about Michelle?
We know:
She likes to read.
She is fluent in sarcasm.
She likes to go to protests.
She’s in the academic decathlon.
But I could say the same about the extra kids in the decathlon team.
I could go around the excuse of ‘some things happen off-screen’ when it comes to the romance between Peter and Michelle (something that they didn’t even take time to develop either), but what’s the excuse for her character development? We know even more about Flash than her. We know Flash likes being a DJ, he studies hard to be #1, he’s rich, he feels jealous of Peter, his parents are never around and make him refer to them in a detached manner, we even saw Flash’s date in Homecoming and the fact that he took her to dinner first before going to the dance. We even know Flash’s butler lmao. This is why part of me believes she’s only there as fan-service, given that fans love the connection between Tom and Zendaya, and because the actress herself is popular.
This could also be happening because Spider-man belongs to a bigger world now. He’s part of a big franchise and maybe these details aren’t necessary anymore. Maybe romance is not a big deal because they need to focus on Peter. But I still think it’s unfair. I hope we can see more of her story in SM3.

Dance Like No Other
Sun was gaining more and more power, winter was fighting its last battles, spring was spreading slowly but steady and I felt like dancing. With my dogs, with the birds outside, with the delicate spring-flavoured wind.
Everybody should dance. At least twice a day. I do. It gives one such a rejuvenating feeling. Just like spring does.
The dance joyful energy filled my every cell and I felt the need to paint it. I started searching for protagonists for my painting story. Since I was always in awe with the elegance and the grace of ballerinas, I thought it would be a great idea to paint one.
Ora, the prima-ballerina I had chosen to model me for my painting was not a regular ballet dancer. She was special. A bit eccentric and really spoiled and stubborn, but extremely talented and devoted to her art. She lived for her ballet. And she wouldn't model for me by dancing with just any partner. She wanted the best one, because she wanted to give a performance to remember and that couldn't be done with a regular man. So I had traveled far and wide, searching/looking for what she asked for. And just the moment I wanted to quit, he appeared in front of my eyes: the red-crowned crane, Akio, from Japan. His dance was exquisite. I couldn't take my eyes off of him. My presence didn't seem to bother him. He was so absorbed in his dance that he, probably, hadn't even noticed me. I felt like my quest was over! There he was: someone who not only danced like no other but who was, also, so passionate about what he was doing that everything disappeared around him while he danced.
The fact that he was a crane, was a bit of a problem at first. But we overcame that. After many discussions (lucky me he was a good English speaker), Akio agreed to be my ballerina's partner and so I introduced them to one another. They spent some time togheter to get to know each other so they could bond in the spring-celebration dance they would perform for me to paint.
Akio told Ora that his kind has been dancing since the beginning of time and they consider dance a sacred thing. In their society, they dance for sheer joy, celebrating life. Otherwise, they only dance with their mate. Their unison dance is a celebration of their love, a ritual the pair will perform together many times over the years, to strengthen their lifelong bond. Parents teach their babies to dance and young cranes practice dancing for years before they choose a mate. Akio was a young crane who didn't have a mate, yet, but he had an innate dancing talent.
Ora had also found out that the red-crowned crane was on the brink of extinction in Japan due to hunting and the destruction of their natural marshland habitat for agricultural development. But, happily, the Japanese people took action and, in 1920, a group of farmers started feeding the birds in the wild. The crane population grew and nowadays there are over a thousand birds in Hokkaido region in Japan, but they are totally dependant on humans for food during the winter, therefore their future is still uncertain.
Many other interesting things did Ora find out that day, like the impressive wingspan of Akio, that is 2.5 m, his height that is about 1.58 m, that the red patch on his head is not a feather but bare skin, or that the red-crowned crane is one of the longest-living species of bird, living up to 30-40 years in the wild or up to 70 years in captivity.
When Ora's time to talk came, she didn't know what to share.  She wanted to tell so many things but she had to choose the most relevant ones. And...she did. In her way. Akio learned that she was the only child and maybe that's why she was so stubborn and spoiled, that she wasn't a natural brunette (I don't know why she considered that an important thing to share, but she did) and that her secret wish was to ride a bear. Her favourite ballet piece was Stravinsky's “The Rite of Spring”. That was not such a surprise, knowing her, but, even if she would have liked “Swan Lake” the most, she couldn't have said that to a crane.  Akio had also found out that even if the ballet dancers are typically known for their grace, poise, and dedication, they are incredibly strong and probably are the strongest athletes out there, as several studies had found. One mustn't be fooled by the delicate appearance of a ballerina. They are really tough, both physically and mentally. Ballet is such a complex art sport that many athletes take ballet lessons to improve their performances. To name a few: Eddie George, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Barry Sanders. Also, The Chicago Bulls used to train with the Joffrey Ballet troupe in the off-season during the Michael Jordan Era.
I definitely have to google for Arnold, the ballet dancer, to see if she was not making things up because, sometimes, she really seems to live in her own fabricated world.
That was all the sharing Ora did. She wanted to say so much more but she couldn't decide what, so she stopped.
But the crane was pleased with the things he learned and they started to dance and I started to paint. They totally completed each other: the most graceful dancers from two different worlds dancing like one. A strange but superb duet. At the end of one week, my painting was ready, but the Ora and Akio hadn't noticed I finished. They kept on dancing like no other couple had ever done. I left leaving them moving gracefully under the blossomed cherry tree. They were a weird pair. But perfect.

Headlinin’: 11/27/17
Tumblr media
We’re having a huge sale today, so please go check that out! Seriously guys, this is the biggest one we’ve ever done. Go get it! :D Alrighty, on to this week’s main story...
MUCH ADO ABOUT DOGEN
I’d like to talk about balls. No, not the sports ones. The kind that are metaphorical, the kind that you have when you stand up for what’s right in the face of intense opposition. I mean, think about it: there’s stuff that takes courage, and there’s stuff that takes balls. Asking someone out to prom? Courage. Telling a Firefly fan to let it go, since Fox canceled their show fifteen years ago? That’s courage with a little bit of balls. Standing up to the bully ten times your size? That’s balls.
Bringing your baby to work with you when you’re a politician in one of the most male-dominated societies in the world? That’s more balls than you’ll find at a basketball tournament. [Washington Post]
Tumblr media
Just look at this picture. Words fail me. Here, check out the video:
youtube
This is Kumamoto City Representative and certified bad ass mama Ogata Yuka and her son Dogen, who has a very nice hairstyle going for someone who’s only seven months old. She made the “mistake” of bringing her son to work with her, which resulted in many male members of the chamber crowding around her and demanding she leave - with some of them even demanding she apologize for doing so (even though Dogen was being a good boy and not making any noise).
According to her official bio, Ogata is a graduate of the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies and holds a graduate degree from George Mason University in Virginia. She’s also worked as a program officer with the UN’s Development Program in Yemen, which I imagine is not the UN’s easiest mission. After moving back to her hometown, Ogata became interested in local politics and ran on a campaign emphasizing support for working mothers, traffic/pedestrian safety, public health and welfare, and promoting tourism to Kumamoto. [Editor’s note: we’re working on a tour pitch or two, Ogata-shigi!- Team PacSet]
Fun fact: Ogata was elected when her first child was just 1 year old, and the day she brought Dogen to work was her first day back from maternity leave. Now personally, I would have appreciated a “Welcome Back” cake, a balloon bouquet... maybe some of Kumamoto’s famous Ikinari Dango* with a nice message written on it? Like this?
Tumblr media
But hey, I guess a bunch of old dudes being rude is kind of like a welcome. I mean, isn’t that how the bullies welcome the nerds back to class in all of those teen movies? Sorry, I digress.
Although child care is provided in municipal assemblies in Kyoto and Akita (as the WaPo points out), Kumamoto’s model male citizens decided to get their pantsu in a bunch over this, eventually forcing Ogata to leave Dogen in the care of a friend before returning to the chamber.
In a statement, Ogata said that she wanted to bring attention to the tough conditions facing working women in Japan. She’s not wrong; numerous  [Bloomberg/Benchmark] articles [Japan Times] have been written about Japan’s shortage in adequate day care facilities and how hard it is for women in the workforce. In fact, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has cited making the working world more friendly to women a priority, since Japan’s birthrate is declining and the benefits of being a mother are not all that attractive if you want to have a career/support a family in Japan. However, apparently Abe forgot to mention this to fellow LDP member and “guy at the pachinko parlor” Haraguchi Ryoji, who said that Ogata could be “subject to punishment for disturbing the chamber over a personal reason.” [Mainichi Shimbun] Which I guess I understand... I mean, I bet no one in the LDP has ever been in a scandal for personal reasons, right? (Fun game: Google “LDP Scandals” and see how many you can find in 10 minutes!)
The truth is that there is still a cultural stigma against working mothers in many social circles in Japan. Not too long ago, having a baby meant a women would leave work altogether and focus their entire lives on child rearing. Even today, mothers that go against the grain are often harassed by other mothers and people who aren’t parents at all but have so many opinions. Which is probably one of the reasons why Japan’s fleet of online trolls have since invaded Ogata’s Facebook page and are tweeting nasty replies to English language stories about her. Nice of them, isn’t it?
Regardless, we hope that Ogata-shigi keeps fighting for working women, that we are able to create the best Kumamoto tour EVER, and that Dogen can keep that clean, awesome looking hair forever. <3 Speaking of clean...
I’LL HAVE A WASH AND DRY WITH THAT YAKITORI
If you have traveled with us, you know how tough it can be to find coin laundromats in Japan sometimes. Fortunately, the effort to make them more common just got a massive (and I mean massive) push from a somewhat surprising source: convenience store (conbini) chain Family Mart. (LINE NEWS)
Tumblr media
That’s right - one of Japan’s biggest conbini chains, the place where you get a meat bun when you’re hungry, a manga volume when you’re bored, and a Pocari Sweat when you’re drunk, is installing coin laundry! According to an official statement, the company is planning on rolling out the service quickly, with laundry popping up in at least 500 locations by the end of 2019. [Family Mart]
I’ll level with you guys: I’m trying to think of a negative angle to this story, and you know... there just isn’t one. The thought of being able to wash my clothes during FanFest while eating a lemon ice, buying breakfast onigiri for the next morning, and browsing the latest Shonen Sunday? What did I do to deserve this kind of joy?!?!?!?!
The best part? Because the competition between conbini chains in Japan is such a bloodbath, it probably won’t be too long before Lawson or Seven Eleven decides to try out Coin Laundry as well. Japan in the summer is all kinds of humid - keeping it clean is a concept I can definitely get behind.
TAKA IS NOT [ONE] OK [ROCK] WITH SMAP... KINDA
One guy isn’t keeping it clean this week in the world of gossip; ONE OK ROCK front man Taka sent shockwaves across the Japanese interwebs this weekend when he dissed recently disbanded J-Pop royalty SMAP during an appearance on Super Beaver singer Shibuya Ryuuta’s radio show late Thursday night. Although both of their bands specialize in rock and not the kind of J-Pop sound SMAP embodies, the two were discussing which song from the band they like most. Taka’s selection? SMAP’s 1993 single “Ten Dollars”:
dailymotion
This is a somewhat deep cut from the SMAP catalogue; it’s from when the group still had six members, and it wasn’t nearly as popular as SMAP’s turn-of-the-millenia hits Lionheart and Sekai ni Hitotsu Dake no Everyone in Japan has heard this song twenty million times oh god please make it stop**.
After the song played, Taka voiced a sentiment that many indie rockers, rappers, and artists in Japan have long thought but always been scared to say. SMAP is... eh. From the man’s own mouth: [Model Press]
“Actually, I hate them, really. I hate SMAP. They’re like Japan’s national group,” said Taka. He’s not exactly wrong; SMAP’s TV show was one of the view where western stars appeared regularly, and even Eric Clapton wrote a song for them. Yes, ERIC CLAPTON. Taka, probably realizing that the internet could twist such a comment out of control quickly, added: “No matter which group you’re in, whether you’re an idol, a superstar... we’re all just human... Being in a group like that shouldn’t be your WHOLE life - that’s tiring. So when I heard SMAP was disbanding, I was thinking, ‘Wow, they really worked hard to come this far...’” I can’t help but agree with Taka myself; to have a group be your entire life until you’re alone again - that’s truly a Mighty Long Fall.
Taka’s comments were also a reflection of the public’s sadness when SMAP disbanded - so much so that many thought the group should keep going. Indeed, artists in Japan that are popular are expected to devote their lives to their work to a degree that many in the west would consider horrifying (just ask any former idol star... ugh). For what it’s worth, many on Twitter and message boards in Japan agreed with Taka on this point.
Now if some of those nice, sympathetic folks would go help support Ogata Yuka... that would be awesome.
NOTE: I’m off on Japan Holiday next week, so this column will be on hiatus. We’ll be back in a few weeks with more goodies. Until then, be lovely to each other!
*About the Dango: The popular YouTube series Cooking With Dog (RIP, Francis ;_;) actually did a segment on how to make Ikinari Dango; check it out! We miss you, Francis the Dog... <3

Magnitude and Direction, Issue #35 | 14 Jun 2019
Hardware, Prototyping, and Fabrication
Remember way back in M&D #14 when I featured UPenn professor Aaswath Raman's TED talk about developing new materials technologies to emit heat from buildings into space? Well, some researchers at the University of Maryland developed a technique to produce wood with these heat-emitting properties, which could yield big efficiency gains in home heating.  If you've ever wanted your own robotic quadruped pet, then check out the Stanford Doggo Project, an open-source, all-encompassing resource for you to make your own Boston Dynamics-style pet. You can be sure that I'm gonna make one of these.  This portable workbench is great if you're like me and do a lot of workspace-intensive hardware projects, but also don't have lots of space that can be dedicated 24/7 to construction and hardware hacking.  A love letter to plywood.
Software and Programming
Here's a bunch of cute CSS animation effects for you to use the next time you're making a website.  From the practical to the nonsensical, here's a website where all you do is adjust a slider to determine how much Mark Zuckerberg is smiling.  The MIT Tech Review said it best: "Has George Clooney peaked? This algorithm knows." And here's the original (open access!) paper if you want to learn more about the methodologies involved.  Also from the Tech Review: Train an AI to fake UN speeches in less than two regular workdays worth of time. I'll say it again, the 2020 US presidential election is going to be FUN (but not a ha-ha kind of FUN, more like a we-can't-tell-what's-real kind of FUN). (Here's the original paper for this one as well.)
Science, Engineering, and Biomedicine
Unfortunately this app that is designed solely to explain the mathematics of the 4th dimension in a digestible manner is only available for iPhones, but if you do happen to have one of those, I'd check it out.  You've almost certainly heard about the "5G Wars" being waged between the US and China, mostly over hardware being developed by Huawei. What you may not have heard of is the risk 5G technology is posing to our weather forecasting. Or, if you were like me, you did see that headline pop up in news apps and social media shares, but didn't know what it was about. Well, now I've got the deets, and it turns out the electromagnetic frequencies being used for 5G communications are awfully close to frequencies that are naturally transmitted by water vapor and used in our modern meteorological models.  We've gotten pretty good at finding planets, but one thing has become clear: there aren't many planets out there that are just a little bit bigger than Earth.
Mapping, History, and Data Science
Missing numbers is a website dedicated to all the data that the government should collect and measure in the UK, but doesn't. I love this concept and would love to see a version made for the US (I'll even team up with someone to help make it). ➡ The Atlas of Urban Expansion is a register of 200 of the world's 4,231 cities with populations over 100,000, showing how much they've grown space- and population-wise over the past 30-40 years. Zooming in on New York first, I didn't see a whole lot of change since the early 1990s (which wasn't really a surprise) but then I jumped over to Shenzen and WOW has that place changed. ⚔ In 1812, Napoleon Bonaparte marched the largest land army in history into Russia. What happened next was the first of many times Russia's winter beat back an invasion, resulting in the decimation of the French troops. 57 years later, retired French civil engineer Charles Joseph Minard summarized eye witness accounts and drew a map illustrating Napoleon’s 1812 campaign against Russia and the defeat of the Grand Army. That map is the basis for When Napoleon Ventured East, an interactive, 3D visualization of the campaign and one of the best military history visualizations I've ever seen.
Events and Opportunities
There's still a lot of events upcoming as the July 4th holiday begins to appear over the horizon...
Monday, 6/17 Join The City College of New York Master’s in Translational Medicine, in partnership with the AAAS-Lemelson Invention Ambassadors for a discussion around the way academic institutions can promote opportunities for students and faculty to invent and develop entrepreneurial endeavors as well as the ways invention itself can open doors for more people to become inventors.
Tuesday, 6/18 Join the Future of Care and Cornell Med's BioVenture eLab for a social hour with David Putrino, head of Mount Sinai's rehab innovation group and an all-around fun guy.
Wednesday, 6/19 Astronomy on Tap's next event waxes historical with musings on the impact of science on events around the world andacross time.
Wednesday, 6/19 The first flurry of international life science events is over and everyone's back in NYC, so it's time for another edition of Derek Brand's long-running ECHO networking event. As always, it promises to be a great gathering of people from all over the NYC life science ecosystem.
Thursday, 6/20 JLABS celebrates 1 year in New York with a pitch competition some of the area's most promising local talent.
Wednesday, 6/26 Run the gamut from fine art to deep science at SciArt's next social mixer at Peculier Pub.
Wednesday, 6/26 The 58th Hardware Startup meetup will be a little extra hardware, as they team up with NYC hardware incubator Futureworks to feature some of the program's hottest startups.
Some other upcoming events to keep on your radar...
Wednesday, 7/17 The Society for the Advancement of Social Studies has returned after a long hiatus (they were still involved in the Art History Happy Hours at the Brooklyn Museum, to be fair) and is back in a new home and with three great talks about Manhattan-themed history.
(Yeah, only one event on the docket past these next two weeks. We'll see if more turn up but you know how summer is. If you know of other upcoming events that I haven't included here, please definitely drop me a line.)
Map of the Month
➕➕➡ How many US counties does it take to get one NYC? Find out with this map.
Odds & Ends
There's a good chance UI Goodies is going to get a mention in tomorrow's Moment of Inertia, but it's worth mentioning twice - it's a great resource and starting point for all things design.

The Brelands saw the commercial possibilities of operant training, founding Animal Behavior Enterprises (ABE). In 1955, they opened the “I.Q. Zoo” as both a training facility and a showcase of trained animals. They were among the first to use trained animals in television commercials, and the first to train dolphins and whales as entertainment, as well as for the navy.[12] Keller died in 1965, and in 1976 Marian married Bob Bailey, who had been director of marine mammal training for the navy. They pioneered the use of the clicker as a conditioned reinforcer for training animals at a distance.[11] ABE went on to train thousands of animals of more than 140 species.[12] Their work had significant public exposure through press coverage of ABE-trained animals, bringing the principles of behavior analysis and operant conditioning to a wide audience.[13] Numbers and Place Value *Ratings based on the results of returned questionnaires from our clients. As your puppy’s pack leader, you must help to expend their energy in a productive way. For all dogs, this means a daily walk. Bonnie Public figure Awards we’ve won 07 Sep 2017 9:40:54am By regularly taking the dog outdoors, through the same door, to the same site, and providing rewards for proper elimination, the puppy should soon learn to head for the door each time he/she has to eliminate. If you recognise the signs of impending elimination and praise the puppy whenever he/she heads for the doorway, the behaviour can be further encouraged. Puppies that have been interrupted or reprimanded on one or more occasions as they begin to eliminate indoors, may begin to try to sneak away, whine or show some form of anxiety, when they feel the urge to eliminate, but cannot escape from the owner’s sight. If you can pick up on these cues, and take the puppy directly to the outdoors for elimination and reward, the puppy may consistently begin to show these signals when he or she needs to eliminate, and may even begin to take you to the exit door. Lifestyle Training for Pet Dogs A Hungarian dog training group called Népszigeti Kutyaiskola use a variation of model-rival training which they describe as the Mirror Method. The mirror method philosophy is that dogs instinctively learn by following the example of others in their social sphere. Core to the program is including the dog in all aspects of the owner’s life and positive reinforcement of copying behaviors. Mirror method dog training relies on using a dog’s natural instincts and inclinations rather than working against them.[67] Our dog training professionals offer a variety of dog training services to benefit you, enabling you to find the perfect match for your needs.
