Two things from continuing to read TVA, bitterness and Marius hating ahead, if you don't wanna see that honestly why are you even on my blog:

Honestly I don't care at all about authorial intent but the way this is written, how Armand narrates his early days as a fledgling, is fucking haunting to me. It's so utterly casual and passive, with just that one little interjection of "this was put to the test". Oh? Who was doing the putting? What was the test? Was the test perhaps Marius starving you to see how many days it would take for you to be too weak to get up, Armand? Was that maybe it? Oh but Marius did it to help him, of course. To teach him his exact limits, for the future! How benevolent. Someone get him a World's Best Maker mug.

Idc maybe I'm just seeing what I want to see but the "What I mean is, I didn't have contempt for him" reads as protesting too much. Like... it's giving "it's not that I found Marius tedious, just ancient Roman law and his obsession with it and also literally all the things he said and believed".

MORE IMPORTANTLY, though, the ideas in question here are Marius droning on about how the world is getting more just and how wonderful the contemporary world is. Love him telling all that to an enslaved child - WHO HE OWNS - and bought legally from a brothel! Wow, I wonder why Armand might not have a lot of faith in the law or in government institutions! It's almost like those institutions failed him in a profound way!

But no, Armand probably feels that contempt because he was 'born in a dark and savage land'. Y I K E S. Listen... to anyone reading this overlong post who isn't reading the books I can't emphasize to you how much this is Marius's whole thing. He talks about the ~civilization of the West so often. It's honestly nonstop. He's RADIOACTIVELY Eurocentric and if they stay true to the character it's going to be 100x worse in the show because of Armand's changed background.

I’ll be doing those soon. I don’t have any fancy tarot cards, I bought mine at Five Below lol. I’m in the process of buying tea leaf cards.

Again, this is for fun, not to make money. I won’t be asking either. I just wanna do this for fun. I’ve been interested in doing for a couple years now. I’ve been watching tarot readings all over on YouTube all over on TikTok. So basically for entertainment purposes only. So whatever I do, however I do it obviously take it with a grain of salt. Don’t take it too serious or too personal.

You are able to ask questions or if you want any personal readings, you could always message me. But again this is for entertainment purposes only and is to be taken with a grain of salt. So please don’t come at me if I do a reading for you and none of it ever happens… again, this is just for fun. So feel free to message me or post something on here and I will get to it as soon as possible.

Not sure I mean, if you’re curious and you’re wondering about a certain celebrity then yes of course I can try my best to pull some cards. But if you have a question about your life or career, you can ask me definitely but remember entertainment purposes only I wanna make that very, very abundantly clear. No health questions. I am not a doctor. You should seek a professional healthcare provider for those kind of questions. And definitely no pregnancy questions.

These are all for free. I won’t be asking for money. And honestly, I probably won’t ever ask for money. I understand that some tarot readers on here do ask for money for some personal questions, but this isn’t like a full time job/gig for me. If ever I make this a full time thing, I still probably won’t ask for money.

And please understand that if I don’t get to your question or you’re reading right away, please do not be upset. I will get to it as soon as I can. I am a mother of three children and a wife so life is very busy and can get very hectic at times. And personally, I have anxiety and I am a very sensitive person. So things do get a little crazy sometimes for me. And also on this page, I do write a lot of fanfiction so I’m most likely writing a bunch of fanfiction before I get to the questions or I’ll do questions and then write some fanfiction.

But I've been good. Extremely busy but it's okay, the pto is worth it. That's what I keep telling myself at least :) but how are you??? Is anything interesting happening? New developments perhaps 👀

The funny thing is that I've actually been talking with a few mutuals, and they've all told me that they recently went back to re-read their drafts. Maybe it's something in the air or we're all feeling a bit nostalgic? Or because everyone is on break since it's summer.

#cattycattitude #im self projecting #Right?? When I read an incomplete fic #I don't hound the author down to finish it because it's rude as hell and things take time. People are busy #not in this case. I have a direct open line of communication with this author and they are about to receive a very strongly worded pep talk #you know what i think it could be #and take this with a grain of salt cause I'm speaking from my experience #but i feel like since we know how we want the story to go #and we've basically crafted the entire fic in our heads #we only pick the parts that we really like #for example when go back to rewatch clips from a movie #we just watch the parts that we like #i dont give a shit about the random conversation 28 mins into the movie #but its important because it advances the plot or it serves another purpose but regardless its important #but since im writing it I have to add in that random conversation otherwise the fic doesn't make sense #but thats BORING #I DONT WANNA DO IT #so rather than just sitting down and taking the 2 minutes to write that dialogue #i just push it to the side and pretend that ill come back to it #but i dont cause its always going to something boring to me even if it really isn't #super duper big mwah #lovely person #ask

Given the bajillion different interpretations of vampires out there, in your opinion which flaw is the most fundamental to them and should be present in every adaptation?

im signed up for an online english course with a professor who has actually some of the worst rate my professor reviews i have ever seen most of which talk about how she never replies to emails and/or didn’t start putting in grades until like the last two weeks of class and she’s currently refusing to even open the course until wednesday… head in hands

#the semester started today for reference #chesschats #the english chronicles #i tend to take english prof reviews w a grain of salt bc a lot of the time reading them im like this isn’t even that bad or i take the #class w them anyway and they’re literally perfectly fine or i even really like them. bc i am not a freshman or someone just taking it #for a gen ed and expecting to get an a out of it with zero time management skills or an understanding of basic academic writing #expectations lol. also just generally speaking it is always my easiest class of the semester so my perspective is a bit skewed. but i #don’t know abt this one folks i think i might actually be in trouble 💀#so anyway my plan was i’ll check out the course when it opens (bc most of the reviews ALSO talked abt how disorganized everything was and #how the rubrics weren’t clear on what assignments were supposed to actually be on?) and if it really looked that bad i would switch out #this english class for one on comics and graphic novels instead since they’re both async so might be a tad behind but altogether probably #no harm no foul since the deadline to switch out classes w no charge isn’t until friday #but um. this is not a good sign lol #i was actually initially planning on taking the comic/graphic novel one bc i missed this one (literature of american minorities) as an #option. but then i saw this and was like well the children’s lit class just had a unit on graphic novels and i don’t really feel like doing #more of that for an entire class rn. ALTHOUGH i will say i found out yesterday that maus and a memoir of allison bechdel are both on the #reading list which did almost tempt me to go back to it #but altogether i think this one would stretch my thinking and teach me more so ultimately decided on it. getting kinda 👀 abt it now though #particularly because this is a Hard semester for EEs it’s 11 credits of 12wk courses which is granted not as bad as most summer classes but #still accelerated and i have heard bad things abt two of those classes. and the async english courses are 6wk like do i really want to put #myself thru that on top of the near fulltime engineering course load… hm #and these are the only two english classes available for the summer at the 300-level (which i need for the minor) that aren’t centered on #teaching. except for another one on children’s lit but again just took a different one on children’s lit so don’t want that one either lmao

have to work on a project today and an unrelated thing happened that just made me so so so so so mad (just some irl personal stuff), which normally derails my entire day because i find it so hard to come out of the angry/upset state and tend to just circle back and obsess over whatever triggered it but! today after 20 minutes of that i had a council meeting about it (<- what i call my decision making process) the outcome of which was putting it aside (!!!) for later when i could actually talk about it and resolve it (!!!) & in the meantime we could just do other stuff.

local man exuberant and jubilated to achieve feats of basic emotional self-regulation and was seen excitedly telling reporters he "never thought this day would come" and began giving a thank you speech to nobody in particular. more on this story as it develops

#good idea generator #more and more i find the most effective way to get things done is to have like. a council discussion in my head about it #my thoughts always feel really noisy especially when im upset & its easier to process what im thinking/feeling #if i imagine it as coming from many different sources with different opinions. rather than contradictory ones from me #bc then i get stressed about the contradictions. council discussion is easy bc you can let everyone say their whole perspective #so everyone gets listened to + then theres space to ask questions like 'is this helping or hurting?'#if you're wondering who 'we/everyone' is. its me. this is probably obvious but i never know what is typical when explaining how i think #or if im explaining it in a way that makes sense and is accurate to whats actually going on up there #arguably i dont think any language is ever truly 'accurate' to whats going on up there #feels like trying to see if other people see the same red as you do. what do you ask? and when you think you know how do you check?#anyway. i like the council because i used to just try to shut down negative or spirally thoughts #and it never worked ever it just made me feel more out of control. whereas now i have to listen to the whole thing #+ try to identify what the underlying fear or need is and try to address THAT #also awhile back i read the handbook for internal family systems therapy which has def influenced how i think of myself #now i have never actually done ifs or spoken to a practising professional so grain of salt and whatever #but i have found it is by far the way that makes the most sense for me personally to think abt myself and try to solve problems internally

Okay okay whenever I do a tarot reading for myself and it's negative I get frustrated and angry but ONCE IN A WHILE when it's positive I'm like "naahhhh, this is sus, I bet they're trolling... or they are not talking about me... I bet there's a catch to this 10 of cups and 4 of wands!!!"

#i guess the issue is my cards are always negative towards me #but i take them with a grain of salt cause i know they're not consistent #also i can ask a trusted reader and their reading will be different than my self-reading #and trusted readers are trusted cause they were always correct #unlike my cards #so then if i get a positive outcome i don't trust it either #even tho it aligns with the trusted reader readings that i had #maybe this is also my issue of not believing i will get positive results in anything #idk #random #tarot

Look, I haven't read Twilight, probably never will, and the movies do a really bad job of accurately portraying certain aspects from the books, but my sister has read them, and based on her descriptions of events, I feel like way too many people are just wildly misunderstanding what imprinting is and how it works :/

#take this with a grain of salt 'cause again I personally have not actually read these books #but as far as I've been informed Jacob is not romantically/sexually attracted to Renesmee when she's a baby #he's just protective of her like a parent wolf imprinting on their cubs #how their relationship develops as she ages is a whole different topic #but this non-issue has always just felt so aggressively to me like another instance of over-assigning human morality to non-humans #he's a wolf guy and wolves imprint #as far as I'm aware at no point is in indicated that this is a strictly romantic/sexual thing in these books #it's literally just imprinting #like a baby duck on their mom #if ''I live and die for you and will be whatever you need me to be no matter what'' only translates to ''I wanna fuck you'' in your mind #then that is 100% a *you* problem because that is *not* what that means #Not to defend Twilight or anything; it's a garbage series #but this has always really bothered me #just say you don't understand what imprinting is and fucking go lmao

Anyway read Empire of Normality by Robert Chapman and Capitalist Realism by Mark Fisher, and think about how deeply entrenched capitalism has made itself/*has* to make itself that we feel that not thinking about labour/work feels almost necessary to escape the pervasiveness of capitalism

#as always take Fisher's discussion of depression with a grain of salt #it's not wrong per se but it definitely is drifting towards the 'every problem is simply class struggle' heuristic that erases meaning #there's several other readings I could recommend but these two are the most impt
