Ugh I’ve been so MIA I hate it 😭🖤 but I finally got my hands on a book last night and I can’t even
🚨KoA kinda round up🚨 from the depths of a sleep deprived forgetful quick rambling tired soul fangirling
Aedion screaming please and I take it back as Lysandra stands as Aelin in front of a war
The witch towers with the yielding which is scaring the hell out of me
Aelin reuniting with Chaol seeing him walk and that hug cause healing
And then immediately recognizing Yrene and their moment
And then her and Hasar being the queens they are
Plus Borte being Borte and just so many great characters in one shot
And I’m just so proud of Elide
And guys please for the love of gods just go to Terrasen
And then you have the cadre in all their glory and the ways she describes them which cracks me up because it’s like “stern beautiful Rowan” “glowing golden Gavriel” “Fenrys darling” “miserable bastard Lorcan” and their dynamic I just can’t even🤣 like the two of them have the sibling dynamic down to a science of “we hate each other… but okay maybe not really I guess their fine”
But then they learn about Maeve and holy shit rip my soul out and slap me with it
And then Aelin crying to Rowan which killed a little bit of my soul and healed it to hear it put into words and then killed it again and then there’s her and Fenrys and Gavriel and Rowan
“IM SO SO TIRED ROWAN”🖤 (but also why are we having this talk on an ice covered river… guys drowning is a real issue, just like scoot back into the forrest please?)
“No one would have left you like that, no one”😭 (I did spend like 10 minutes on Reddit trying to figure out what the “do you want me to tell you about it” line meant but I’m pretty sure it was stuff like that😭)
🥺”We fight”🥹
Chaol and Yrene need to talk about the baby so they can celebrate for .5 seconds cause there both being adorable again
Also like is there a new third person view cause now chapters end like “2 minutes in someone chaol never expected walks in” but then 4 chapter later the convo starts & then halfway through someone walks in… it’s not even forshadowing its like a preview?
Also are all valg princes princesses?
But like where’s my babies where’s my 13 where’s my Manon? Where’s my Dorian? We need the king and witch queen! How about my flower child who’s all dopey and in love? But also like no news is good news? I WANT AELIN NOWHERE NEAR THE KEYS WITH HER DEATH PLOT THESE DAYS MMM NO and then I thought it was the 13 when the wiverns pulled up but no it’s a witch tour greatgreatgreat greatgreatgreatgreeeeeeaaattttt
And have I mentioned I’m dead inside and this book is my world and it’s falling apart but in the beautiful perfect kinda way that feels like watching deathly hallows again but better
Also like I’m waiting for Aelin to unleash a fire storm
And it’s Rhoe’s shield🥺🥹
So idk this is where we are today
Chapter 51 here I come let’s see what Lorcan and inevitably Elide are up to and try to do some better posting catch up since the sleep deprivation is at peak productivity and let’s hope all my bbs reunite for a few scenes now and not to die or something cause is that too much to ask
P.S. MOONBEAM🤣🤣🤣
And I love how he just like ✨KAPOW💥 shifts I mean minus the trauma portion but the dramatic light flash effect would make Rhys (our lil wedding crasher) proud
PS PS I still love Nox

I think with a lot of Visual Kei it's important to make a distinction between genre (as in musical category and history thereof) and scene (as in label environment, the production conditions, the musicians they work with and inspiring each other, the media and festivals and concerts and venues they appear at, fan culture, and such) because Vkei is a music scene without an underlying music genre tying it together, that's what makes it so hard to define musically.
Like yes a bunch of them play straight up dark wave and goth rock and post-punk, but have no points of contact to the goth scene, they're fully embedded in the vkei scene instead so i don't consider them goth. And then others are so very clearly visual, but have barely any contact to the vkei scene and are therefore not - Soft Ballet is in here, they're coming from a New Romantics background iirc.
It's not that easy with Buck-Tick though. Whether they can be considered vkei is muddy at best - very influential of course, but are you part of the scene you helped inspire? Andrew Eldritch would like a word with you.
And the ties to the goth scene are very clearly there. Not only because of Sakurai, Toll is also well connected (just watch his interview with Genet about this very question, even if i have a low opinion of that guy you can't deny Auto-Mod is central to the Japanese goth scene). And probably lots via Imai, though i don't know enough to continue here.
And sure some Buck-Tick albums have the goth sound, but not all. But then again, neither do The Cure.

How did we, as a society, let "queenie" stand as the name for queen fans?
what happened to "The Royal Family"???
because there's this:
"what's your favourite band?"
"Queen"
"Oh, so you're a queenie?"
versus this:
"what's your favourite band?"
"Queen"
"Oh, so you're a member of The Royal Family?"
sounds outrageous. fancy. worthy of praises and admirarion. just like Queen itself.
queenie sounds shallow like it would be okay for a 10 year old girl who was obsessed with the band back in 2019 just for the movie but not for a professional fan who's brain is saturated with queen facts and names and dates and songs

wait, there are "enemy" blogs you want to stay in the fandom? isn't it better if they stay away, if they're annoying enough to be "enemies"?
Well, it is not a real """enemy""", hence why I used three whole pairs of quotation marks and not one x) And it is a singular, not plural.
The problem with BB fandom is that it is like... in a crisis? Not only the truly active part of it is like, same 20 people for years now, but also there is a hegemony of the same characters, same ships, same takes, same headcanons, same designs for unseen characters... People that join in the fandom see what fans are up to, but since most of the activity is the popular girls (gender neutral) of the school who are all tight mutuals group doing the thing of the week they share (usually when it happens you can blame a Discord server), these new people assume that this is what will fly, also that this is what is "canon". They're yet to discover that there are different interpretations, different possibilities, alternative ships..... but they now will not, because they already got swayed by influence. The cycle continues.
The """enemy""", that I only call such because we seriously didn't get along as people and not because they did something bad, is very different though! They are not annoying! They appear to be an individualist, they are touching ideas and characters fandom practically abandoned, they draw what THEY like and not what is a current set fun trend, they do not try to throw a bone to the community-
It is just refreshing to see something unique and interesting! I am the type that actually goes insane if I have to see the same thing over and over. I'd start hating my favorite ships if I never could see alternatives, ffs! My idea of ideal small fandom is various individuals doing cool stuff and simply sharing with each other, rather than there being a "core" that sets the trends and everyone outside of these trends being passively-aggressively ignored for "wrong" takes, "wrong" ships or "characters no one will care about". There should be more users that radiate such strong individuality and creativity instead of resorting to being just another gear in the machine! I would not be as petty as to wish for someone actually interesting to leave the fandom over personal things. My real enemies, on the other hand, are not creative at all. Well, one of them used to be but completely lost the spark.

Char's Deleted Affair covers one of the most important unanswered eras of the UC timeline, but the writing sucks so fucking bad
There's so much wrong with it, but what takes the cake is just the sheer disgusting fascination the author has with Haman as a teen when she was "a pure, innocent damsel who constantly throws herself naked at Char." It's another series that just treats Char too titanically, like I do love Char, he's a great character, but the appeal of him in the best series is his truly terrifying skill both at piloting and manipulating people, contrasted with his kindergarten level schemes and petty behavior (CCA-era Char is the greatest example of this), but there are still sooooo many fucking series that are convinced Char is the most important specialest guy in the universe and think he's drowning in women and machismo and that's just not a take I like on Char at all
