Someone needs to do an analysis on the way the Kung Fu Panda movies use old-fashioned vs. modern language ("Panda we meet at last"/"Hey how's it going") and old-fashioned vs. modern settings (forbidden-city-esque palaces/modern-ish Chinese restaurant) to indicate class differences in their characters, and how those class differences create underlying tensions and misunderstandings.

Real-World Band Posters!

A while back, I was looking for some posters for bands I was into at the time and couldn't find very many, and most of them were in English instead of Simlish. So I decided to try my hand at making my own, and I thought I did a pretty good job.

I've been using them in my own game for a while now, but I got an SFS account, so I figured I'd share them here! I'm tempted to make more in the future, so we'll see how it goes.

I designed all the posters by editing the original album covers—or in the case of the Paramore one, by recreating it in the Sims—with Simlish and Sims-related inside jokes like microscope prints, Bonehilda, and llamas. The fonts I use seem to have disappeared from my computer, but I really liked them, so if anyone can find them, I would be super appreciative (and add credits here)!

The fun thing about American Cultural Domination is that it absolutely does not extend to Sports.

Like, if an American gets good at an internationally played sport, like Boxing or Golf or Swimming, we non-Americans absolutely do hear about it.

But America also has it's own set of American Sports, like American Football and Baseball (and to a lesser extent, Basketball and Ice Hockey) that are massive in the US but nowhere near as popular internationally.

So you guys have these big, famous sports stars who are just completely unknown outside the US.

And then, like any celebrity, they try to branch into other fields and maybe see some success in them. So internationally, they become more famous for their side-hustle rather than their main career.
