Hrvatski junior Mili Poljičak s 2:0 u setovima (7:6, 7:6), svladao je u finalu američkog tenisača Michaela Zhenga te postao pobjednik juniroskog turnira na 'svetoj wimbledonskoj travi'     Mladi hrvatski tenisač Mili Poljičak, koji će za tri dana napuniti 18 godina, novi je pobjednik juniorskog Wimbledona. U finalnom susretu mladi Splićanin i treći nositelj turnira svladao je Amerikanca Michaela Zhenga 7:6(2), 7:6(3). Poljičak je time postao treći hrvatski tenisač u povijesti s naslovom pobjednika nekog juniorskog Grand Slam turnira. Ranije je to uspjelo Marinu Čiliću, 2005. u Roland Garrosu te Borni Ćoriću 2013. na US Openu. Hrvatske tenisačice, pak, imaju šest trijumfa u juniorskoj konkurenciji.                  Skoro sat vremena trajao je prvi set u kojem je prvi do breaka došao Amerikanac Zheng. Kod 3:2 je oduzeo servis hrvatskom tenisaču i pobjegao, činilo se, na nedostižnih 5:2. Međutim, Poljičak je smogao snage vratiti izgubljeni servis. Učinio je to kod 3:5, kada je Zheng servirao za prvi set, a kasnije je prva dionica otišla sve do tie-breaka. U njemu je Poljičak odmah napravio mini break. Naknadno pobjegao i na 6:2 te prilično uvjerljivo dobio završnu borbu za osvajanje prvog seta. I u drugom setu je Zheng prvi došao do breaka te je poveo 3:1. No, nakon što je u četvrtom gemu propustio dvije break lopte Poljičak je kod 2:3 naplatio 0:40. Iskoristio je treću break loptu u tom gemu te izjednačio na 3:3. Opasno je Poljičak prijetio u drugom setu kod vodstva 4:3 i 5:4, ali Amerikanac je nekako preživio sve te neugodnosti te je dogurao do novog tie-breaka. Kao i u prvom, tako je i tada Poljičak držao sve u svojim rukama. Poveo je 2:0 i 4:1 te čvrsto držao svoj servis do samog kraja i velike pobjede. Oba su igrača napravila po dva breaka, s tim da je Zheng imao dvije break šanse, a Poljičak osam. Hrvatski junior je dobio i 80 posto poena nakon ubačenog prvog servisa (32 od 40) te je ukupno osvojio šest poena više od suparnika (88-82). Poljičak je time postao i prvi hrvatski tenisač pobjednik juniorskog dijela Wimbledona. Do sada je hrvatski tenis imao dvojicu finalista, ali su obojica gubili završne mečeve. U pitanju su Ivan Ljubičić (1996. od Vladimira Volčkova) i Mario Ančić (2000. od Nicolasa Mahuta).     Dodajmo svemu kako je Poljičak ove godine zajedno s Litavcem Edesom Butvilasom osvojio juniorski turnir parova u Roland Garrosu.
