Over the years, their music collection grew, until a shelf for their records joined the shelves for their books. Edwin was proud to say that the acquisition of the record player had made their office more lively, ghosts though they were. He certainly enjoyed their dancing lessons. If Edwin noted Charles’ quiet singing during this time, it was only to classify Charles as having enough musical talent to not clash horribly with the original singers’ voices. Some decades later, Edwin discovered the magnitude of his error.

WIP Wednesday

Natsu groaned softly, the echoes of his dream already blurring in his head, blindly reaching beside him. His hand found Lucy's side, and he relaxed at the feeling, rolling onto his side to tuck her against him. The moment her back hit his chest, he sighed, wrapping his arms around her. He buried his face into her hair, breathing in her scent, starry skies and morning dew and strawberry bodywash. Lucy stirred in his arms, and he shushed her before she had a chance to say anything. "Go back to sleep," he murmured into her hair, feeling her hand find one of his. Lucy squirmed in his hold, making him loosen his grip enough for her to roll over too. She yawned, pressing herself flush to his chest, face-to-face now. She tossed one of her legs over his knee, one of her hands dropping to his hip. Natsu smiled when she cupped his face, nuzzling into her palm. He pressed a quick kiss to the lines on her hand, and Lucy made a soft sound at the feeling. "Are you okay?" She asked, her voice gentle and warm.
