So, I watched the episode Emotion from Miraculous Ladybug and Félix is just extremely confusing to me???

is it just me or does it make no narrative sense for Kagami to be a sentimonster? the entire plot around the peacock miraculous is layers upon layers of family drama being all "we gave life to our kids by any means necessary and it killed the person we loved the most and now we see them as objects to be used and they have to fight the narrative to gain their freedom" and then there's just this one daughter of a blind woman just standing there like "oh uh and me too also, apparently, I found out last week from a guy in a peacock costume and now were dating". the only reason they made her a sentimonster is so she could make out with Felix, that's it.

now, I don't hate having another sentimonster in the show, if they introduced Kagami's mom earlier and integrated Kagami into the plot as more of a bootleg Marinette (cuz be real, same shade of hair, red clothes, Asian, she was designed to be another Marinette visually and her role is almost exclusively a love interest) it could've worked, but she showed up out of nowhere in season 3 and we didn't get any hints of her being a sentimonster until season 5. so the way the show is written now, it feels like a cheap excuse to pair her with an Adrien clone.

but... there's another character that's around Adrien and Felix's age, who's parents were shown to know Gabriel all the way back in season one, who's already an established character and is also Adrien's childhood friend.

imagine, Audrey wants an heir but doesn't want to get pregnant, so Gabe gives her the peacock and tells her there's a price to pay, she's like "yeah whatever" and makes a minion employee use it and get pregnant for her. when the kid is born she decides that she's too ✨ fabulous ✨ to raise a baby and leaves the responsibility to André, and leaves to New York with the amok.

André raises Chloe and takes good care of her, until she gets old enough for Audrey to care about her existence again, then she comes back once ever few years, orders her around with the amok to be a bad bitch and order others around, and leaves again after like a couple if days.

Chloe ends up having to appease her mother and be like her. without the amok, André do anything about it except try to still be a good dad, so he ends up doing appeasing her every whim. he might not even know she's a sentimonster and sees her as a miracle child who's simply easily influenced by her mother.

BUT, that would require actually giving Chloe a proper redemption arc, which Thomas can't physically do since he has PTSD from mean girls or something.

I'm not there in my watch so I'm just going off what I picked up from osmosis - does Felix have any sort of arc or does he go from Adrien's dickhead cousin to giving all the Miraculous to Hawkmoth to uwu actually a good guy with no apparent contradiction?

Yeah basically.

End of Season 4: Felix hands over all the Miraculous and also Gabriel's ring(1/2 of Adrien's Amok) in exchange for the Peacock Miraculous.

Beginning of Season 5: Felix is only doing this because he cares about Sentimonsters as people, and thinks that Humans are the real monsters for how they treat Sentis. Therefore he's going to kill 99.9% of Humanity, sparing only his mother (because she was nice to him) and Marinette(Because Adrien likes her). But Adrien and Kagami are, for some reason, upset about this. So he undoes it.

Mid-to-late Season 5: oh Kagami is pretty so let's do what she asks and trust that Ladybug has Sentimonster's best interests and tell her to handle Gabriel because he can't due to Gabriel being so super powerful and too much of a threat for him to handle(gee I wonder whose fault that is??!)

End of Season 5: Felix is considered reformed despite not apologizing for anything or really even feeling that bad about what he did. But he loves Kagami so that means he's a good person, right?

-Oh s***, Ladybug never cast miraculous cure. So Adrien has some perminant trauma from the fight with Nightormentor. He still sees the antichat visions (its not chat blanc, and its just reverse color pallet)

-Chat noir left. before he could tell her. Cause the nightmare messed with him

-WAIT DID TOMOE AND GABRIEL JUST LOCK THEIR CHILDREN IN STERILE ROOMS? WTF!

Okay! This episode was A LOT.

Well there is no denying Sentimonster theory. Its confirmed. Its done. 100% GUARANTEE NO MONEY BACK.

It did explain a LOT about Felix and Adrien.

So I am still iffy on how it was handled.

Now this DOES NOT justify Felix's Actions. He was still an a**hole. And Kagami shouldnt have told Felix. Marinette is Ladybug. That was NOT her secret to tell.

BUT the play that explained what happened was very well done. It explained a LOT about the Graham de Vanily family and Felix's a**hole father.

I will say that I hated how tortured Marinette was during this. Felix and Kagami could have done something less cruel to lure her there.

I also greatly enjoyed Chat noir vs Nightormentor. very good catharsis and we have Adrien going through some additional mental trauma, inflicted by his father (I wouldnt call it Ironic, more of EXPECTED)

I give it 7.5/10

I will say its the most I have enjoyed the second half of this season since Emotion.

There's three main inaccuracies that annoy me about how a lot of people write the Ladynoir dynamic in fics (especially ones that aren't Ladynoir-centric)

1) I feel like a lot of people forget in their fics that Ladybug and Chat Noir don't just fight Akumas/Sentimonsters. People often write them as if they just don't see each other at all outside of Akuma battles, so if Hawkmoth doesn't akumatize anyone for two weeks, they just don't see each other for those two weeks unless the author decides to write in patrols. That's not actually canon!!!! Those battles just happen to be the focus of every episode, but we've seen them canonically doing other superhero good deeds like saving a falling helicopter and rescuing kitties from trees and saving Damocles when he puts himself in danger trying to be a hero.

By extension you can probably also assume they do other typical non-kids' Y7 cartoon-friendly superhero good deeds like catching purse snatchers and rescuing people from burning buildings. Don't be afraid to write them doing these kinds of good deeds!!! In addition to showing how Ladybug and Chat Noir interact and work together in different kinds of situations, it adds variety and life to the story and makes it more Real, since it shows Ladybug and Chat Noir being connected to and interacting with the city they protect, a lot moreso than if the story limits them to just taking on the Akuma battle of the week and then disappearing until the next one.

2) Sometimes people also write Ladybug as if she never hangs out with or sees Chat Noir outside of those Akuma battles and wants to keep it that way. Even when they do include patrols, often those patrols will just show them splitting up and Patrolling with limited conversation towards the end, keeping their friendship distant. Ladybug and Chat Noir regularly spend time together outside of battles!!!! We have seen them canonically eating ice cream together, taking selfies with civilians, sitting on rooftops together to enjoy the views and unwind and talk one-on-one (regardless of if it's the middle of the day, sunset, or nighttime), and going for a walk on Pont des Arts together.

(Apparently they even canonically do magazine photoshoots together)

They could very easily do solo patrols if the purpose of patrols was just to keep the city safe. Split-up solo patrols would probably be more efficient and easier to coordinate with their schedules. But there's a reason she promises in Truth/Lies that she'll never miss a patrol with him again, and that's because the patrols double as hangouts for them!!! They don't just split up and keep a quiet watch over the city from the rooftops, they interact with their city together during their dates patrols as a couple duo.

3. And the last one, probably the most common: People forget that Ladybug likes to have fun with Chat Noir. It's never been just "the serious heroine who rolls her eyes at the comedic hero." Ladybug does not just roll her eyes at Chat Noir and despise his puns. Ladybug loves being playful with Chat Noir. She loves to annoy him, loves to roast him, loves to be competitive with him, loves to give him a little gremlin smile when she knows he's going to hate whatever she has planned, loves to get flirty right back at him and even makes her own cat puns at him from as early as the First Episode. There are literal canon scenes of him rolling his eyes at her jokes.

Tl;dr: Ladynoir are best friends who love to spend time together and their city loves them don't forget it

Hi hello, yes I’m late, time to review Revolution! Let’s go because at this point I’m getting tired of this show.

So basically the entire episode is Adrien’s trying to tell Marinette that he’s leaving Paris and trying to stop it, but Marinette doesn’t really listen, and is focused on stopping Chloe, who’s now mayor/dictator??? Yeah trust me the logic of this show is gone, somehow people are ok with the super demonized caricature Chloe being mayor like everyone didn’t hate her already (my guess is that this is supposed to be alluding to the current state of world and politics and lack of trust people hold in the government)? Love the lack of consistency and logic.

Now. I don’t want to criticize Marinette too much, because technically, yes, she was busy trying to handle the Chloe situation (which in itself makes absolutely no sense and by all accounts shouldn’t be possible) but I will note that despite Adrien clearly telling her something was wrong multiple times, she never seems to care or understand? Like he told her multiple times that there’s something wrong, but she never seems to care or do anything about it until it actually affects her (which is unfortunately in character)

But apparently people are criticizing Adrien?! Saying how he’s awful for lying to marinette about having to leave and left it for the last minute? And frankly, the show kinda does it too (in the next episode, many of Adrien’s classmates discuss how awful it is Adrien didn’t say anything and how could he keep this from them like that)

LIKE??? BITCH??? Two points:

1. Adrien’s dad is Gabriel fucking Agreste?!

Like wow what a shocker the child of a man that has proven to abuse and isolate his son on multiple occasions has a fear of asking others for help in his situation because he worries nothing can truly beat this actual billionaire who’s also his legal guardian? And also is implied to have legit magic control powers over him, sentimonster style?

2. This really isn’t that of a big fucking deal

Like I do not get why this show keeps saying how “Adrien lied to marinette!!! He didn’t tell her he’s moving away!!!! How could he!!!” And how literally everyone and their mom is seeing this as an awful situation for marinette, when in actuality, all she knows is that Adrien will now be living a couple of hours away from her (due to the bullet train between Paris and London) and that he won’t literally be with her every second of the day.

Like I get it for a 14 year old yes this might be a huge fucking deal, but Alya even says so herself! Adrien is in London, they’ll just get a couple of tickets for the train and figure it out from their! And even in the worst case scenario where Adrien stays in London, there’s the option of a long distance relationship (that’s just as valid a relationship as any and would be a refreshing take on how not every relationship is super conventional and in person)

I just really don’t understand why the show shows Adrien genuinely going through some horrible shit from his father (like full on white room torture in the episode after) and then all the show focuses on is how this affects marinette and how sad she must be rather then the genuine psychological damage this must be doing for the kid! Like no one in this show remembers the amount of control Gabriel has on Adrien or something.

Anyways rant aside, before the entire going to London thing happens (btw congrats adrienette shippers for the kiss) there’s a whole thing where Chloe makes a deal to be akumatized by Monarch so she can send people to detention (it’s painted as a torture chamber but it’s literally people walking around with a video of Chloe saying they’re ridiculous, so basically P.E. Class), and then there’s a big fight where Ladybug and Chat Noir almost detransform because they used up their lucky charm and cataclysm and are trapped (btw the lucky charm had no fucking point to the story, why was it underwear? Frankly it was kinda creepy if the writers to have panties as the lucky charm for nothing but a weird joke, and not even connecting to the messages of unity and everyone taking action but ok)

But like… they just don’t?! Like I swear to god this show makes no sense anymore, Ladybug and Chat Noir just say they’ll never give up and fully transform and recharge again, and now they have no time limit and full powers?!

Like, the entire principal (just like Gabriel said) of the miraculous time limit, is that Kwamis need to recharge after one use, and that adults can lend some of their energy and power to Kwamis and therefore have them last longer to the point they don’t need to detransform, hence “only adults don’t need to detransform”

But now it’s apparently a purely emotional thing and not physical? Ladybug and Chat Noir somehow grew up by saying they’ll never detransform again (I do not at all see how this is a moment of growth to them) and now they just don’t detransform, despite the fact they are physically still kids?

Like by the shows logic of emotional maturity, Gabriel shouldn’t be able to hold a transformation at all then, because he’s the farthest thing from emotionally mature.

And also, it kinda makes all the stakes in fights now null and void? The biggest stake and challenge in each fight from day one of miraculous was “there’s this bad guy, you guys have one chance to use your special powers to beat them, think smart and solve this puzzle” but now it’s just gone??? It would have worked if the akumas overtime became more intense and hard to beat but clearly that’s not the case as even akumas powered up with actual miraculouses can be beat by a normal ladybug and chat noir.

The best thing the show could have done here is rather then make the becoming adult thing emotional maturity, have Ladybug and Chat Noir notice their transformation seems ti be slowly lasting longer as they age (have it be a metaphor for puberty and growing up or something) and then actually make the fights and villains more difficult and compelling so by the time Ladybug and Chat Noir no longer transform back, the priority isn’t for them to keep their secret identity (which sucks and anyways doesn’t matter) but to stay alive!

But anyways I digress, when has this show ever pulled a logical move?

I have no fucking clue what they’re doing with Chloe anymore.

They spent. Entire SEASONS! PLURAL! SEASONS! After the introduction of Audrey Bourgeois, telling us how “no Chloe is irredeemable her actions are never justifiable she’s just evil and bad and she has no other reason for doing anything and she’s so bad she’s cooperating with monarch and Lila look how evil she is hate her so marinette looks better in comparison”

To now… suddenly pulling this scene?!

Like. WHY??? Why would you purposely demonize Chloe despite the very real opportunity she had to get better and be complex, only to now pull a “whoops wait look guys deep compelling character!”

And while I heard people say this is the show maybe finally making Chloe get her redemption arc after hitting rock bottom, I can’t agree? The show is known for its repetitive nature, and if the show is to redeem Chloe and suddenly make her a good person or give her a compelling reason for acting the way she did, marinette looks bad in comparison, for not having as compelling reasons to do just as bad things:

Example? Marinette and Chloe in season 3’s Animaestro, trying to sabotage Lagami and publicly humiliate her in front of Adrien so she won’t “win him over”.

If Chloe has an explanation for this behavior (she’s taught to be cruel and mean from a young age by an abusive and neglectful mother, and because of her equally neglectful father, she learned the only way she’s heard and anyone cares for her is if she lashes out, and someone will just throw money on the problem) what reason does marinette have? She was raised by perfectly loving and doting (maybe too doting) parents, who from day one have taught her to be kind to others, and to do good.

Both characters did an awful thing, just one character has a genuinely compelling explanation for said behavior, while the other is pure jealousy and wanting the guy for herself by all costs.

So no, I don’t think the show will redeem Chloe for that reason: because it would force marinette to admit her wrongdoings and therefore force the plot to develop!

So this just makes no sense? It feels like a case of the show wanting to have its cake and eat it too, wanting the show to remain the same, Chloe to remain awful for no reason, and for marinette to stay the hero by comparison, but also have the bragging rights to say “we write complex character you guys!”

It makes no sense is my point.

Anyways besides these huge inconsistencies, leaps in logic, and bad writing, I don’t really have anything else about this episode to say? This show has officially come to the point for me where I genuinely think nothing will ever change or be able to fix how wrong everything is (from characterization of everyone except for marinette, the plot, the rules of miraculouses, the LOVE SQUARE)

Adrien's feather allergy as foreshadow of his status as sentimonster is reaching on fandom part. But fandom claimed Felix being one isn't. His name being the episode name definitely foreshadowing his status as sentimonste, considering in s1-3, the episode always named after either akuma or sentimonster bar the Origins. That's what I call foreshadowing. Not whatever feather BS people like to claim.

Felix being a sentimonster is just make senses, always make senses for me, considering he seems harbor a jealousy toward Adrien especially at his remark "You always do everything your father tells you to do?" Considering as sentimonster he couldn't disobey whoever had his amok while human Adrien can disobey anytime he want yet choose not to, in his view.

Then come s4 and 5 with a huge retcon.

Also prior to s4 I don't believe the rings is amok, Felix want it because his mother want it since it's her family heirloom. Again, make senses that she want one of it considering Emilie is dead at this point. She has the right to own one of her family heirloom, Gabriel don't.

One of the episode in s5 implied that Felix always know that the rings are amok and this doesn't make senses if we were to connect back to his debut episode where he just give the ring he stole to his mother, even if say Amelie is a better parents/human than Gabriel, Felix who claimed to love his cousin and want to free him, should know better than to give his cousin's amok to his mother. The math is just not mathing, unless Felix doesn't know the rings are the amok in his debut episode and only know later which is a huge plot hole.

The retcon isn't inherently bad per se, in initial plot Luka is supposed to be Juleka's brother older by two years, s4 retcon him to be her twin. This isn't a problem because it's a minor thing that people either doesn't notice or doesn't care. But when what retconned is almost about the whole world building and lore, that's when it become a big problem. S4 onward doesn't seems like the same series as it's prior season.

Would you also argue that Nathalie is a sentimonster given the name of the final episode of season two?

And what about the first episode of the origins two parter? Does this mean that Marinette and Adrien are both not humans?

In seasons 1 to 4, episodes were mostly named for akumas and sentimonsters, but it wasn't a hard rule, so that's a pretty weak argument for Felix being a sentimonster. Even if he was human, he's still the episode's main antagonist, so naming it after him isn't weird even if he was fully human. This is extra true since Chat Noir was originally named Felix, so calling the episode "Felix" apparently drove up hype from fans who were saddened by the change. People wanted to see Felix make at least a cameo and would even pester the head writer about it prior to this episode. A lot of people wanted him to be a former Chat Noir or Adrien's older brother or something like that. You can find a lot of fanfics that did this long before season three was even airing.

Plus what else would you call this episode? There wasn't a single akuma, there were three, and "Princess Fragrance, Lady Wifi, Reflekta" is both an awkward name and something of a spoiler since I think this was the first time that we saw one item lead to multiple akumas.

ALL THAT BEING SAID, I would actually buy that Felix was planned to be a sentimonster from the start. That doesn't feel like a retcon in the same way that Adrien and Kagami do because there is some setup for Felix. The "always do what your told" line fits him being a senti and evil "twins" are often revealed to be magical in origin in these kinds of shows. Plus sentimonsters were a thing at this point, so yeah, I'd totally buy it.

The big reason I still call it a retcon is because of the issue you bring up about the rings. The way they're handled in that episode makes no sense if they're supposedly Adrien's amoks because how would Felix even know that? Who told him? Amelie?

I mean, I'd buy that Amelie knew because it's implied that she was somewhat close to her sister, but that just raises more questions! Why is she demanding her nephew's amok? Why does she give it to Felix? What does she think he's going to do with it? What is going on here?

And, of course, there's the biggest issue of them all: why is Gabriel only mildly annoyed that Felix and Amelie have Adrien's amok? If that was me, I'd be demanding it back! I'd be sending akumas! I'd go to war! You are not controlling my kid!

But Gabriel does nothing. He just waits for Felix to bring it back in the next season. Like this is how he greets Ameilie the next time he sees her:

Amelie: Gabriel! I'm so happy to be able to thank you in person for giving our family's ring (kisses his cheeks) back to Félix. Gabriel: It was the sensible thing to do, Amelie. Adrien: That was very thoughtful of you, Father.

Dude, what are you doing? Why didn't you just tell her that Felix stole the ring? What is going on here? Why does this episode (Gabriel Agreste) end will Gabriel totally fine that he didn't get the ring back because he finally got his hands on one of Ladybug's magical charms? It seriously comes across like he the completely forgot about the ring even though this is the season where Adrien is finally foreshadowed to be a sentimonster! Writers, what are you doing???

A better version of the episode Felix would see Felix show up with the goal of learning if Adrien is also a sentimonster and - if yes - figuring out what the amok is. Have Gabriel give Adrien a command to be nice to Felix so Felix is a total brat to see what his cousin will do. This would be excellent foreshadowing because you could do all of that without directly stating what Felix is doing, but once the reveal happens, it would be a major "oh!" moment on a rewatch.

As-is, the episode is just weird. It may have been intending to set Felix up as a sentimonster, but why? What was the plan? What's with the rings? Why did Felix try to take away all of Adrien's friends and ruin his reputation? There are just so many questions raised here that - sentimonster or not - Felix was still massively retconned.

I will also agree that a retcon isn't necessarily a bad thing, but the writers claim to have planned everything out which is why I will point out every one as it clearly refutes that claim. Plus most of them aren't minor things like the weirdness of Luka's age. It's big stuff like all of the above, which does negatively impact the show. Everything about Felix is extremely unsatisfying and I don't think we're getting answers to any of the questions I asked in this post.

Random thought on mlb theories (Part-1)

(Not all of them are mine, some of them I included cause I wanted to share my thoughts. Credits to original creator for their brilliance)

1. So we all know how Lila took the miraculous of butterfly when it fell . What if she knows that Marinette is ladybug!!? Why I think that is cause Marinette detransformed while talking to Gabriel. There are chances that she might have seen that

2. We also know that Felix and kagami know Marinette's true identity. Will Marinette get to know about it?

3. This one is connected with number 2, so I saw some people saying that we all know how Felix transformed from villian-antihero-hero. There are chances that he might team up with Lila (who is now Hawk moth) .

4. I wonder why Lila wants the miraculous of butterfly? Is she going to have the same motive as Gabriel? Just taking ladybug and cat noir's miraculous? If it is , why does she need it? And if it isn't what's the other motive then?

5. I also wonder if kagami's mom is really blind or is she just pretending? There have been moments when I thought she isn't blind.

6. (continuing number 1) If Lila knows/gets to know that Marinette is ladybug, she is going to everything to destroy her reputation. She can manipulate Parisians and everyone at the school. It would be the hardest time of all and if during that time Adrien gets to know that she was hiding Gabriel's secret from him, it will not end well. Just the thought of it makes my body shiver.

7. I have also seen people saying that the miraculous of peacock broke bcz Emilie tried to make 2 sentimosters at the same time. He was supposed to get a twin sister but that failed somehow and Adrien was the second. His name was also not supposed to Adrien ,his name was taken out of his dead twin sister who was named Adrienne and once Gabriel and Emilie got to know that he was connected to both amoks. Some people partially think that his named was being Celeste, which is a unisex name in France .

8. Some people also say that Anne-Jeanne Theoxanne du Bocquale is a time traveling adopted daughter of Adrienette. What I think is that could be true cause apparently Adrien is a sentimonster (that's what we think even though it's not confirmed) and sentimoster's can't reproduce. So maybe they decided to adopt a child but I am not so sure about the time travelling thing .

9. Adrien is going to intern at the Dupain-Cheng bakery. It will not end well. Ok well, I got nothing much to say about it but my question is why would he?

10. Some of you guys think that Kagami is meant for Adrien. Like why guys? Tbh when they started dating I didn't really like it . From the very start I always thought Marinette was the one who is made for Adrien. Why? Bcz no one can understand him better than her and not to mention no one can know his schedule for next several years and no one can stalk him better .

11. I have also read this theory where people say that Felix was created out of jealousy over Gabe and Emilie's conception of Adrien, which means it's possible he doesn't love Kagami for herself or the fact they "are the same," . I mean this could be true and credits to the original person who thought of this amazing theory like idk where u guys get these from , hats off!

12. Next theory is , The ring Felix gave Kagami isn't actually her amok, but an identical copy. I agree bcz we have seen Felix talking about how he felt when he was being controlled so it’s most likely to be true cause he wouldn’t want kagami to feel the same way (if he really loves and her cares about her)

13. I also wonder when and how Felix will tell Adrien about how both of them are sentimonsters and were created using a miraculous and if he tells it before he gets to know Gabriel’s truth it is most likely to be that Adrien will suspect that his own father was the villain .

14. This one is not really a theory but like I wonder Has/Will ladybug told cat noir about the true identity of monarch? If we look at the last scene from Re-creation they both seem pretty normal like always . So that could mean that she still hasn’t revealed it yet . Do you guys think she will?

15. There’s also this thing that Felix might team up with Lila cause of his character arc . You see , he was seen first as a villain then as an anti hero and then a hero . This will be a direct parallel to Adrien's character arc.

16. Ladybug giving up the guardian role to Luka and Cat Noir will help her recover her memories. Umm…. I mean we all know that Marinette will do/have to do this but I don’t think it will be Luka or maybe it can be , I just don’t know .

17. Lila will tell Adrien the truth about Gabriel and get mad at Ladybug then get akumatized . Well she is lie-la so for sure but wasn’t she going to be changing her look?

18. Marinette will slowly have suspiciousness about “cerise” as she sees her. Well cerise is new look of lie-la but she is still the same from inside and marinette’s also clever enough to point her lies out .

19. Kagami’s mom (I forgot her name) is gonna help Lila . Bcz the thing she wanted (which was probably Adrien and kagami being eternal couples or whatever) is still a dream .

20. Felix will find out cat noir is Adrien by sensing the amok on cat noir . I don’t think so bcz Felix has came over cat noir a couple times but he didn’t sense that .

Considering I'm 75% sure you sent this pairing in just to have me tear it to shreds, I feel comfortable being nasty about it.

Feligami as a ship emphasizes and underlines the artificiality of these characters both in universe and out of universe. It's the token ship where a couple is brought together by the writers specifically because they fill out the same niche. The ethnicity couple, the nerd couple, the artificial slave species couple.

Look, Miraculous has a really, really, REALLY bad track record with making its Sentimonsters seem like actual people worthy of sympathy and human rights. The creation and controlling of these creatures is totally okay most of the time, no one considers how horrifying it is that their lives are so fleeting, fragile and easily controlled by others and they're called Sentimonsters. The only character who cared about Sentibug dying was Adrien, apparently another Sentimonster so, with Félix's season 5 characterization of him caring about Kagami and Adrien because they're Sentis, we have a 3/3 track record of only another Sentimonster choosing to care about someone they know for a fact is a Sentimonster from the get-go.

Félix only started caring about Kagami because she was part of the same slave species he is. Kagami's previous love interest was also a part of this slave species and Kagami was explicitly attracted to him because they were "so alike". With Kagami exclusively falling for guys who are part of the same species as her, who also easily fall for her right back, the show is implying Sentimonsters can subconsciously recognize each other, and this instict presents itself as them being drawn to each other.

Outside of all this Sentimonster nonsense, the pairing also emphasizes how artificial these characters are from a narrative perspective. Kagami is headstrong, and wants to pave her own way. Her previous love interest and first friend were both people who were kind to a fault. Now she falls for an asshole who's also a perfect clone of her previous boyfriend, a breakup she had such a difficult time getting over that she couldn't even see him for a time. It's obvious Kagami likes Félix only because the writers want her to like him. She also shields the writers' pet Félix from the consequences of his own actions, something I've pointed out the writers loooooove to do with Félix. All of this makes it obvious that she's not a real person but a made up character who will do and feel what the writers want regardless of her previous characterization, which just takes a more savvy viewer completely out of the story.

Félix's personality also keeps changing with his every appearance, and him falling for Kagami is just more of the same. The Félix in season three might as well have been another identical Sentimonster and the only connection he still has to his season 4 behavior is him still having the Peacock Miraculous. I actually saw a screenshot of him doing an Adrien expression sincerely because he just wubs Kagami so much, and I gagged. It's just gross when he does the doe-eyed look.

So I just watched the Season 5 finale of Miraculous Ladybug, aka what the creator said was the ending he had planned for the show before it got renewed for more seasons, aka the unofficial official ending, and all I have to say is... (DON'T PRESS KEEP READING UNLESS YOU'VE SEEN THE FINALE OR DON'T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT SPOILERS)

I am SO GLAD I don't feel ANY obligation to continue watching the show anymore :') And don't get me wrong, I'm not gonna pull no fan entitlement shit, I think the ending could have been SOOOOOO much worse and for what it is, I'm content with what we got for the majority of it

BUT I also have a right to criticize it, so I will; they really forgot about the most important fucking part, the identity reveal, so Adrien continues to not know the truth and Marinette, the only person who knows what happened, sure as hell won't tell him, he deserves so much fucking better than that

BUT AT LEAST THE FUCKING SENTIADRIEN THEORY GOT DEBUNKED, THEY CONFIRMED HE WAS ACTUALLY BORN, NOT CREATED WITH THE PEACOCK MIRACULOUS, AND FELIX WAS THE ONLY SENTIMONSTER OF THE TWO, ISTG I FELT THE SAME SATISFACTION AS I HAD WHEN NOBODY BELIEVED ME ABOUT GABRIEL BEING HAWKMOTH BACK BEFORE SEASON 2 CAME OUT, STAY APPARENTLY DELULU GIRLIES BECAUSE YOU ALWAYS END UP BEING RIGHT

(Okay coming back to this part, check the comments!! I got a little excited when I initially posted this haha. I think at this point it's just up to interpretation -- Felix was the only one of the two outright confirmed but you could argue either side for Adrien still. Also I don't hate the idea of Senti-Adrien, I just know the show would do a terrible job executing it because they'd never have Adrien know the truth. Poor kid keeps having to live without knowing what truly happened just makes me sad :( It could also leave him vulnerable to attacks and stuff, that's one of those things he deserves to know if it's ever explicitly canon y'know???)

Also bless Nooroo, he deserved a happy ending too :( Slay for Lila tho, I figured she was gonna become the next Hawk Moth/Papillon

It's really ironic that an artificial human has more personality than an actual human. If someone tell me Luka is a sentimonster I'd agree in a heartbeat because he's just that bland and has nothing that make him standout, unless him being okay with marinete call him Adrien and obviously being a rebound is supposed to be his character trait that make him standout.

Luka is... weird. I can't call him generic because he's just so incredibly different from both regular people and the rest of the cast.

I think the big issue with him is that he doesn't really respond to situations with the kind of emotional response that I and a lot of others would expect for someone in his situations? Mostly he's just way too insanely chill about things, in ways that don't feel natural. Like he was way too okay about Marinette getting with Adrien, while Kagami struggled with that a bit even as she tried to help them. Him acting as everyone's therapists also seems like it should take more of a toll on him than it apparently has.

All and all, I'd say there's a lot of room to explore what someone in Luka's situation might logically be thinking and feeling, while still preserving the general good-naturedness of the character. The show itself never felt like it truly had a good grasp on how he was supposed to be thinking and feeling about the events that take place around him and that he participates in, but there's something you could build there if you felt like exploring it in say, a fanfic I think.

apparently it was said by Ezra weisz in this one interview that senti Adrien would actually not be actually confirmed on screen and that it was up to the viewer's interpretation and honestly I am a bit apprehensive of that...

i've heard that will be the case which i am also very apprehensive about. while some things are fine to only hint at and never confirm, if adrien is a sentimonster, that is pretty vital to the main plot since it would be a core piece of the villain's backstory (i'm assuming that creating sentiadrien was what made emilie sick).

although i'm nominally pro-sentiadrien, i'd actually rather the story straight up say it's not the case and give us an alternative explanation for why emilie was using the peacock than to just never confirm or deny anything. that's a huge question to leave unanswered and i struggle to see how they can wrap up gabriel's arc without explaining what they were doing in the miraculous in the first place, and if the reason was to create a sentibaby, how will they explain that and leave it open to interpretation??? and if the reason was something else, wouldn't that pretty much confirm he's not a sentimonster?

the idea that the end of season 5 we will just move onto the next villain without ever explaining why emilie was willing to risk her life using the peacock is so annoying to me, i really hope that's not what they are planning. if it is i demand at least 5 onscreen dark cupid style ladynoir kisses as recompense.

(So this is completely far ahead in the order and I will likely revisit this when I am able to see it in order. But if this doesnt deter you from reading this review. Spoilers below)

So I am missing a LOT of what happened. Thankfully it seems like i can piece together a few things.

Adrien, Kagami and Felix are like 99% likely to be Sentimonsters.

I may not like all the revelations that happened. But Felix stole the show and I loved every scene he was in.

Ok so my memory is a bit non-exact thanks to me and my friend talking over the episodes a lot and making jokes and it was yesterday I watched and not today but. Basically:

I don't know when Felix snatched Kagami's ring and swapped it with a fake (I'm guessing I could spot the moment if I rewatched-), but we know that the fake ends up being taken by Tomoe after she gets deakumatized and is in the car with Kagami. She literally calls Kagami a disappointment and, since Kagami doesn't know she's a sentimonster, Kagami hands over the ring when her mom tells her to. If she had given Tomoe the actual amok, she would've lost her free will privileges and have been forced to conform to whatever Tomoe wanted her to be.

Felix appears to have seen this coming since he swapped her ring out with the fake. Most likely entirely so that Kagami wouldn't lose her free will to her mother. Tomoe literally wanted to force Kagami to conform to what she wants, that's apparent from this, but Felix stopped that.

and we don't know how long after this was (I think), but it seems that probably immediately after he takes Kagami to. I think the movies (I forgot where exactly they were but it looked like a theater sjsjsjjsndbdbd). And he immediately gives it back to her.

keep in mind the relationship doesn't even start in this episode. It's literally only sparks of a potential connection. So clearly he didn't force Kagami to love him, they aren't even super concretely in love yet. It's just kinda hinted at. And that hinting only started specifically after Felix started opening up to Kagami. And she never just folded to him, she was still very much asserting herself.

Like. I don't see how one can interpret anything from this other than Felix having Kagami's best interest in mind and wanting her to have the freedom he believes all sentimonsters deserve to have, and was presumably starved of himself for a long time considering how he hints toward his father... not being a great dad (possibly implying he was also controlling and forcing Felix to be what he wanted him to be).

Like. Idk maybe my opinions will change once more episodes come onto Disney+ but: yeah.

This one person on Youtube said that Emilie impregnating herself with a sentimonster baby is no more fantastical than anything else the Miraculous do. What can you say to counter that?

I wouldn't say anything to counter it because they're not wrong. Akumas and amoks have been given no limits in canon. They can be literally anything and do literally anything, even things that other miraculous can do, making it feel like the peacock and the butterfly should really be the ones at the center of the miracle box and not the ladybug and the black cat.

My criticism of Emilie getting pregnant is less "breaks established lore" and more "...this is really weird and raises a lot of questions."

Like why go that route? Why not just have her make a fully-formed baby? What form did Adrien take when she made him? Was the sentimonster an artificial womb or just, like, a fertilized egg or what? What even made her think to do that when the peacock is about creating a creature, not changing what a person can do? I'm so confused and weirded out!

I previously mentioned that Adrien's children should also be controlled by his amoks and I said that specifically because of the revelation that Adrien apparently went through the normal gestation and birthing process. That means that everything in his body developed post-creation. His brain, his bones, his organs, etc. None of it existed when Emilie made him, but he's still fully senti, so why should that stop with him? His kids will be formed from the same genetic material that made him, so why should they escape the curse?

When I initially said that, someone in my comments mentioned that the head writer said that Adrien's kids won't be sentis and THAT I do actually have criticism of because why? It doesn't fit the weird, wacky lore you established, dude. If Adrien and Felix are sentis, then their kids should be, too because they will have just as much base sentigenetic material as their fathers. Idk what Kagami's creation looked like, so I can't speak to her offspring.

As I implied above, the other issue with the pregnancy reveal is that it calls into question why the Agrestes used the peacock and not the butterfly. I thought they did that because Emilie was like "If we're doing this via magic, then I might as well skip all the risks and trials of pregnancy" (which, like, mood) but apparently she WANTED to be pregnant so why not just akumatize Gabriel into an akuma that can get anyone pregnant? Did the Agreste's specifically WANT their kid to not have free will? This is - of course - assuming that the butterfly was found at the same time as the peacock, but who knows if that's the case since absolutely nothing about the Tibet plot makes sense. It's so terribly written...

Anyway, Emilie's pregnancy is just more evidence that the writers are making things up as they go/not thinking stuff through because it's such a weird, weird, weird choice. I have a really hard time buying that Gabriel and Emilie would have actually made the sequence of choices canon says they did because of all the above issues.
