ok, i've seen a lot of debate on this and i just want to put in my two cents real quick!

explaining my reasoning for why i think sun is seeing us as a child and not an adult in help wanted 2

(aka. world's most incoherent sun analysis)

to preface; no hate at all to people that want to think of this differently! everyone will have different perceptions of help wanted 2 and that is fine!! i understand the upset about the changes to suns character and i hold no grudge against people that dislike the ruder portrayals of sun!

this is just my personal beliefs and analysis i've made!

"Bad kid, bad kid! I'm putting you in timeout!" "You stay in timeout until your parents arrive!" - sun, help wanted 2

these two lines. are INCREDIBLY significant to this and why i think there is just literally no way he's seeing us as an adult at all!

why on EARTH would sun pull the time-out line if we're an adult? why in the world would he refer to 'your parents', why would he call us 'bad kid'? sun has the capability and sense to recognize an adult when he sees one, and honestly i feel like sun would be more polite to staff than this! not out of genuine respect, no- out of genuine fear. a common argument i see is 'maybe he's being mean because it's a training thing with a staff member playing the role of a child', but this circles right back to the point that sun would not be a bitch in front of staff. he is smarter than that, that is a fast track to a whole world of hell for him and i DOUBT he'd want that. keep in mind sun is an actor, he knows how to throw on a little show and pretend for the eyes of someone he'd need to pretend for i think what we see in help wanted 2 isn't a VR version of sun, it's not him being a bitch to staff- i don't think sun ever had the balls to be rude to staff, knowing his life is in their hands- i think this is just. who he REALLY is. like that is sun, at his core, before it all went horribly HORRIBLY wrong. keep in mind the first time we saw sun was at his worst. his worst point mentally, the most scared he's been in his life (barring RUIN, he was also pretty fucking scared in that- but in some way he had hope. he knew how to fix this, he just needed someone to help him. there was NO hope for him in SB, he was totally at moon's mercy), paranoid out of his mind and desperately fighting against moon. we CANNOT take that as a representation of who sun is, who he REALLY is when he's not out of his mind scared. sun in HW2 is casual, he is calm- only a little afraid, when nap time draws near, but not 'standing on the desk losing his fucking mind clawing his face yelling about lights on and why would we, a small child, do that' afraid which is a significant difference! he even THREATENS us with nap time, showing that he's clearly a lot calmer and in his right mind- he is lax and well. i think this is, again, evidence that this is just who sun really is i understand why people don't want that to be true!! i understand why people want to believe that maybe sun isn't as rude as this- and honestly, i don't think he always is that rude!! i think we're still missing vital pieces to who sun really is beyond the mortal terror, we have not seen him in his theatre days still but help wanted 2 is the first time we have EVER seen sun calm and not acting like the world will explode if moon exists for even a second. and that is so incredibly significant in the portrayal and discussion of his character and personality and with the context that sun is an actor and designed for theatre- there's also reasonable proof to theorize that maybe his daycare persona, the way he acts in security breach before you go behind the counter, is a performance. he overblows it and goes WAY over the top. y'know. like a stage persona. i think part of it is being conditioned to act that way by his environment, yes!! but i also think that a lot of it is acting. note how he starts on what resembles a stage in SB, making a grand entrance as if walking out as a performer. note his dialogue in help wanted 2 (and listen closely!! pay attention to what he says, the circumstances of it all!!). note his mental state in security breach and parallel that to HW2. note the details. you might notice something new about our beloved jesters!

tldr; sun isn't being an ass because we're an adult, that's just how he is, even WITH the kids!! HW2 is the truest, closest representation to who sun is that we have ever had and we cannot use SB or RUIN as a representation of sun's genuine personality due to the circumstances he's in at the time and his behavior likely being incited by paranoia and it may potentially be a performance sun is putting on.

i don't think sun is a sweet sunshine boy (i do not have any issues with people that do want to see him this way though! love everyone's interpretations!!), i think sun is a multi-faceted and flawed person, and that is so incredibly interesting!

Out of every Overwatch and Blackwatch team member Cole had worked with, Hanzo Shimada was certainly not the worst.  He had met ruder folks, meaner folks, and Hanzo was… well, Hanzo was just kinda… there, sitting in the corner, rarely making a sound, like a stray dog that you had let in from the rain that wasn’t sure if a meal or a boot was coming its way next.

Hanzo seemed perfectly content to stay out of the spotlight, pulling more than his weight on missions, assisting around the base when asked, but never going out of his way to do or say much outside of anything related to work.  There were only a few souls he even felt comfortable being near - Genji, Ana, and Cole - but being near was a far cry from being relaxed around. - Hanzo agreeing so easily to accompany Cole on a mission in Japan was a surprise, not that Cole minded getting a chance to work more closely with the handsome fella.

It would be one of a few surprises they encountered that night, as they had a night of firsts.

Teen and Up

My sleep has been....shit. So I woke up to this whole thing, and then fell back asleep, and woke to more of this thing and... This is an 18+ only blog. I have it in my border image for christ's sake. Nothing about this blog is for minors and readers in my fics, or shit any main characters in my fics that will engage in such activities? Always at least 18. I can't even fathom ever wanting to write something like just the GLIMPSE of what I saw today. It's actually a ruder awakening because I recognized the name of batty-ruski but for the life of me I couldn't remember. And then I went into my blocked list, and then I did remember. In my early days of this blog, they followed me or even possibly liked something, interacted in some way, but, I saw they were a minor and that made me so incredibly uncomfortable that I blocked right away. And I am so very grateful that I did.

However, am a bit of a dilemma, that, I didn't take the time to look at every blog that interacted with that individual. And I've kinda stopped going into who follows much less likes my posts / fics / what have you. I'm def gonna go into my masterlists and see who liked to be tagged in my fics. Of the more recent reblogs, I do recognize one name but I'm not sure. I did block them, though. So if anyone like sees them in my posts or sees me interact... God, please tell me.

Listen, I used to be a minor that was all up in smut fics and all that. And only as I got older I realize I really shouldn't have. Realized how not safe it was, and yeah, I used to interact with grown adults and...mmhm, hindsight is alarming and I would never want that for a minor. I want this to be a safe space, an adult space, writing about the characters and the guys we love and just... Consent. CONSENT CONSENT. This blog, this community has helped me so much in ways of creativity and I don't intend to hinder it with this.... I don't even know what to call it. I might take anon off for a while. I had just got it back on. But. Yeah. I adore you guys that are feeling this and seeing things a bit different.

I'm not going to tell you to stop blazing your fic but since you did I'm going to ask you and maybe anyone else in your reader insert circle to come up with a cohesive tag for reader insert fics so that people who aren't into that can plug it into Tumblr's blacklist. Your blaze is lost on people like me who actively don't want to see those kinds of fics and if we can blacklist it through Tumblr, they won't reach us which means they'll better reach the people who want to see them. The reader insert community hasn't given us a specific tag to blacklist and it's part of why so many of us find that kind of thing irritating. Specific ships and pieces of media we can blacklist. Other genres of fic we can usually blacklist. We can block reader insert blogs individually, but we can only do that as we see them. I want you to reach the audience of people who want to see your works without wasting your money or time on people like me, especially the ones who are ruder about it than I am. You don't deserve mean anons just because you like something other people don't.

Firstly, I'd like to say thank you. This was polite and constructive criticism, something which I'm usually very happy to accept. I totally understand your point and I appreciate your perspective. Though I do think this is more of a pitfall of Tumblr. Compared to AO3, the tagging and filtering system is really abysmal and it can be hard to filter out content that you don't want to see. I agree with you that this should be worked on.

I also would like to point out that I haven't even been on this site a year yet (I hit a year next month, I think?). I do not and am not comfortable speaking on behalf of a community as wide and all fandom encompassing as the reader-insert fic, but I do agree that this is something that is beneficial to both sides. (Are there sides? I don't think they're really should be, but I digress.) I'm without a doubt that reader insert authors would love to get less of those mean anons and more readers that enjoy reader fics.

I also don't have a circle of authors that I can just rally to do that with (Though if any authors would like to reach out to me, I would always love that). It's interesting to me that the 'x reader' or 'reader-insert' tag aren't those cohesive tags. I'm not trying to contradict you, I find that genuinely interesting.

And finally, I didn't waste my money on it. This is entirely a hobby and I don't have the funds on blaze campaigns. Tumblr has a bunch of coupons for blazes and I got mine for free (!!), so honestly, I'm not too worried about 'wasting'. I honestly was just curious lol.

There is a Huge discussion to have about people who primarily play and seek out horse games in the modern gaming industry having way too high expectations for a genre that’s barely just crawled out of “niche and unprofitable jail” and that needs atleast a good few years for non-SSE people to Make Things and especially how you further this genre not by yelling “Why aren’t you, an indie company funded purely by Kickstarter, providing us AAA quality for free and doing exactly what your consumers tell you”, but by understanding that it’s just Barely found its footing on the actual market (and that’s me being fucking generous let me be clear) and that video games, especially of the quality that the mainstream gaming community sees takes years, if not decades, and take huge sums of money and time, the former which it doesn’t have, the latter which we aren’t allowing them

there’s many things i don’t really gel with about the way that adoptables community appears to work, but one of the biggest ones is that people feel bad that they aren’t using their own old character designs and sell/give them away- like, obviously people are allowed to do that if they want, but its so alien to me

all of my old ideas i’m not using are like... those are mine. i can’t give them away, what if i want to use them later? they’re not being wasted if i don’t draw them for 8 years or whatever. also what if i want to take elements from them someday for a different character, or rework them... i just don’t like the idea of people feeling like they HAVE to give away old characters that they themselves created, or else they’re ‘going to waste’, and giving away stuff that they might not necessarily actually want to get rid of just out of guilt? it feels weird

i might also just be kind of possessive though... i can give away or sell designs that i create specifically with the intention of them going to somebody else, but if its an idea i came up with for myself its like, in a separate category in my brain

Oh boy hooookayyy... After seeing that people doesn't mock Gwen for her looks I'm 50% relieved. Yep, only 50%. Because after seeing the cpc tag it looks like everything is going down and people are FREAKING OUT. About Tori's opinion? I'm not 100% agreeing nor disagreeing here. I get where Tori is coming from. The princesses have responsibilities and stuffs yadda yadda. But what? So people can't have a break and always have to do works and stuffs? Is he saying "me time" isn't important at all. People needs place where they can be accepted and be who they are. Which, in this case, the princesses can't do. Not being accepted is really hard. And I think Tori should've understand a little because he has been friends with Monika since they were kids? Dude she was kidnapped as a child do you think she wouldn't want to hide herself because of anxiety and trauma? Plus, she has improved herself because of the cpc!! She stood up for Gwen in the barn, and she got in the gala room :D

Moving onnnnn... Whoever donated that crystal is a jerk, a big jerk. They already brought up so many people's hope! Parents who have cursed children, The cpc, and others. I mean if their purpose is to send the note to Jack, why not just try to sneak it in his pocket, or maybe his food/drink. Or like, idk, talk to him? Well let's take a look on who might be the suspect, shall we?

Okay wait. Now that I read the note more, I just realized. The omniscient clam isn't the thing Jack has been looking for, right? Because it says "I have the thing you're looking for, and you're the only person that can give me the thing I've been seeking as well... the omniscient clam" does that mean Jack already has the clam??? Can someone please explain to me in the replies? Wait but it could be a spoiler..

..anyways, the suspects

1. The plaid king (Leland)

Now obviously this is the prime suspect, like the, like the most possible suspect. Because he is like, Jack's closest friend and all. He knows about Jack and omniscient clam. AND it's best to say that the person who gives the note in the crystal knows who is Jack's daughter. Jack has been hiding his daughters, do people even know what they look like except Leland, Isolde, Jack, Cpc, and the plaid princes? Well maybe at Lance's gala people saw them, but no one saw Gwen because of Jamie's lights. So I think the suspect gotta be someone who knows Gwen, and the plaid king is one of them.

2. The plaid queen (Isolde)

Okay, I don't even know what would be the reason for her to have the omniscient clam (maybe ask if Leland truly love her? But I think she already knows the answer), but let me just point out that Lambcat has been clever with her plot twists. So it's better to think of the impossible too. I'm not even sure Isolde knows about the omniscient clam Jack was looking for, but maybe she overheard about it.

3. Dealer guy who took Jollie's eyes

I refuse to believe his entrance is merely minor and won't have anything to do with the future. I mean, the note did quite say about deals. Who else reminds me about deals other than that guy? But the problem is, his motive. While he can be said as "evil", I don't see him as the chaotic "imma rule the world" guy. He seems like a lawful evil kind of guy.

4. Jack's parents

Okay I really hate them (i wanted to say something ruder but eh this will suffice). Anyway, like I said, we should look at every possibility. As much as I want to believe they are dead, we don't have any confirmation. But why would they want the omniscient clam though? There's always more questions.. this one is really short because I dislike them and refuse to talk further about them. I hope Gwen will never meet them.

4. Literally random people

This is the most impossible. But hear me out, in the previous Polygon gala, some people may have heard about Jack and his clam returning thing.

It would've been easier if we could eliminate one of the people here, but no clue for now.

Hoookay i'm tired now. Well, if I have to be honest, I hope we will learn more about Lance. We already learn about Blaine and Frederick, so might as well learn about him right?

I was looking at your anti phoebe Tonkin tag out of interest (and bc the only thing I've ever seen phoebe in is H20) and I'm kind of flabbergasted that she called you out like what??? I get celebs are human but... if I was a celeb I wouldn't care what some random said. (i mean that in the nicest way, i think you're great) I didn't look that far, but all you've said you don't think she's a good actress??

No I couldn’t agree more, I’m a nobody and I did nothing to initiate contact or send her any kind of harassment. I got a lot of questions asking about my opinion on her acting and my opinion was obviously unfavorable, but this was all something she had to go out of her way to look at. However, there is a whole insane backstory to that anyway, like there was a writer on the show that she was on at the time who was ALWAYS starting shit with fans and I’m 99% sure that she was the real catalyst behind all of that fuckery, like obviously my interactions with all of them were limited but it seems like PT and another actor on the show just got fed up and called me out because this writer had been gassing their heads up about it for literally months. 

Also that show was very clearly a toxic work environment, deadass a huge reason why I think that they were so salty was that one of my internet besties @klarolinedrabbles was sent anonymous messages that essentially spoiled the entire season of the show, and they were spoilers that only an employee of the show could have known. LOL I know this all sounds completely nuts but in retrospect we realized that they must have been talking about us A LOT behind the scenes because whoever this person was knew that my friend was the person to send this information to in order to piss them off the most. It was all the weirdest experience ever but essentially these people were reading me dragging their work for months before she finally called me out but I mostly had no idea (although actually before her major callout she did lowkey call me out on twitter and let me know that she had seen what I was saying). It’s odd because I was definitely ruder and snarkier than I needed to be in many instances but at that time I think she was getting very serious trolling and harassment, but when it happened it pretty quickly became apparent that I was a point of discussion between her and one of the other actresses and one of the writers like, A LOT, and I think that it was one of those situations where a group of people fuel each other to get collectively more and more pissed about something before finally snapping.

Okay, so I don’t usually say anything on tumblr, but that last anon is kind of making me irritated

They weren’t slick about who they were talking about bc they had a direct quote from the post they were talking about. While I’m happy they didn’t say any names, they still left out info. The blog they were talking about DOES use ‘read more’ cuts on NSFW posts after they put a warning about content. The blog also doesn’t break any boundaries and was very respectful about responding to the anon’s ask. It wasn’t even a direct quote bc the anon made the blog’s response sound ruder than it was. In summary, the blog that the anon was talking about literally does nothing wrong. It’s easy for people to scroll past even short ones bc the blog pretty much always puts a ‘read more’ cut on nsfw fics. I understand being upset at those without ‘read more’ cuts, warnings, or those that are breaking boundaries. However, the specific blog anon was talking about didn’t break anything and is overall very respectable.

I don’t usually interact at all on tumblr but this was just kind of irritating lol. You have a great day though!! Your response was valid but the anon’s actual, and unknown to you, context was annoying.

i have to say, i do agree that the blog this is all about does a really good job of respecting cc's boundaries from what i can tell and they were pretty respectful in their response! i do have context for the interaction so i'm not entirely upset with how it went because i have a more well-rounded understanding now.

but i think i do have a point in saying that nsfw blogs should keep their content out of mainstream tags - for example, "[cc name] x reader" - especially if they have an mdni policy in effect [which they should]. by putting nsfw content in mainstream tags, creators on here are practically handing smut to 13 year olds, which is not responsible content creation. like i've said before, i 100% understand wanting to give your work as much exposure as possible. and why wouldn't you [/gen, npa]? you're putting all this work and effort into this thing you wrote, of course you'd want as many people as possible to see it! that's not bad at all. but there is a way to responsibly tag [or not tag, in this case] your nsfw content. also, not putting your work into mainstream tags would make policing those who interact with your content so much easier, right? by tagging responsibly, not only will it be easier to control who does and doesn't interact with your posts, but you'll also be able to build a loyal audience. idk i personally don't see a reason to not be responsible with tagging your work /npa. and obviously no ill will towards this creator, they're doing their best and might not understand where we're coming from and that's okay! that's why i make these posts, to help people understand why it's important to be concerned about who you're exposing your content to.
