Flower of Evil Thoughts- Episode 12: Part 1

Okay, just when I think these episodes can't get any better than the last, I get CONTINUOUSLY proven wrong! How is this show SO amazing!? Okay, let's start with the recap and my thoughts.

WOW this episode really started off with a bang, didn't it?? I was floored how crazy unmother found out the real Heeseong, her real son, was a serial killer. I was legit creeped out by the fact that he kept commemorative photos of his kidnappings and killings, but what really fucked me up was the fact that he kept their fingernails. So NOW we know where the other sets of fingernails went... I guess Do Minseok kept the ones on the right hands and Heeseong kept the ones on the left hand. Just ughhh ewwww. This is seriously so disgusting. That really grossed me out. So, was unmother going to commit suicide? She held a blade to her wrist and then she looks out the window, and what does she see?? Heeseong... trying to bury a body in the rain. I mean what even??? This whole family has upped the evil factor. If there's any flower of evil blossoming? It's the Baek family.

And who's body is it!? None other than Do Hyunsoo! The man he just hit with his car! I mean REALLY!? He was going to legit BURY Hyunsoo alive??? This guy is the psychopath, this guy is the batshit crazy one, this guy is the serial killer. NOT Hyunsoo. It's kinda funny, I was talking to my husband and I said. "Well, the synopsis sorta got it right. Heeseong is definitely a serial killer, only it's the REAL Heeseong and not the fake Heeseong, which is Hyunsoo." We both were like "Yep. Heeseong IS a serial killer and did it right along with Do Minseok." Funny, that.

He’s so casual like “Oh don’t mind me. Just gonna bury this man I hit with my car alive. Go back inside.” So, ole Mommie Dearest over here goes all feral on her serial killer son and straight up stabs his ass declaring she’s scared of him. You know what, lady? I am too. He’s kinda terrifying. I swear if you gave that boy an axe and told him to go chop wood, he'd turn it around and do a Lizzie Borden on your ass. This family as a whole is a complete whack job.

Oooookay so we're back in the present now, and what do we have here??? Heeseong. Sitting up in his chair and guess what he's doing. SPEAKING. NORMALLY. None of that "I just got out of a coma and I'm slow" speech he'd been doing since last week. Yeeeeah I knew his bullshit he was pulling was a whole-ass act. Okay, so last week, when I saw the preview at the end of Ep 11 and they were all screaming about finding a buried body? I had a theory that it was going to be the maid's body they find, considering the way the crazy mother was freaking at out her wanting to know what all she knew. Now you have Heeseong being threatening with this lady. I'm getting death flags everywhere for her.

Oh look... creepy hospital trash dad is deep the blood cleaning Heeseong's car, phone rings and there we got trafficker man, Yeom Sangchul. Soooo, Heeseong owed him money and dad paid him off to cover his son's ass??? DUDE. What is WRONG with this family!? What is WRONG with these people!? They're legit messed tf up! And can they STOP trying to "take care of" Hyunsoo already?? The constant putting out a hit on him is getting frustrating. "Either Hyunsoo lives or we do." UM. You both are TWISTED old FUCKS who don't deserve life after all the crap you've pulled. Hyunsoo deserves life. He's more human than all of you. You don't, if that's how it's going to be. I'd love to watch them rot in prison.

YAY!!! There's our couple!!! Coming out of Hyunsoo's shop looking like a legit BADASS power couple!!! YASSSSSSSSS!!! And... what's this??? What?? Detective Choi wants a cup of coffee??? Weird... it almost seemed as if Jiwon WAS expecting some kind of Swat team out there to arrest her husband. Jiwon looks confused on what's happening, Hyunsoo is just quietly accepting it all. And when they go inside and Sunbae almost appears, reluctant and hesitant. He even thanks Hyunsoo for being the informant, which I did NOT expect. I knew there was a reason why I liked him from the start. He's redeeming himself.

Haesoo is really stunned over the fact that Jiwon knows the truth about Hyunsoo and who he is. And of course she's in a panic because she believes her brother left and so now would be the perfect time to turn herself in. Moojin tries his hardest to stop her, because obviousy he doesn't want to see her go to jail, but he's gotta stop being so pushy...

Sunbae has a great personality, but when he starts questioning Hyunsoo over the murder he doesn't waver. Hyunsoo straight up tells him he had no motive for murdering the village head, unlike Jiwon who's crying out that he didn't do it. That's right. Because he DID NOT. The look that the husband and wife give each other, Jiwon just looks stricken by the fact that after what they went through last night, Hyunsoo still won't tell the truth. That he was not the one who murdered the village head. Hyunsoo just looks at his wife calmly. His expression is unreadable. He may have just been silently pleading with her to please respect his wishes. This is what he wants. He doesn't want this for his sister.

Oh, Noona... not only was Hyunsoo's past so incredibly traumatic for him, but it was for you too. You've been deeply affected by this because of your overwhelming love for your brother and it's precious. It really is. It's heartbreaking watching him get thrown into repeated exorcisms at such a young age for something that was never even wrong with him. ALL of the adults in his life FAILED HIM. His father, the therapist, the villagers, and even his only friend along with his pack of cronies. They BRAINWASHED him into believing he was a bad person just like his father was, and it's HEARTBREAKING. It's so utterly HEARTBREAKING. I LOVE how strong-willed Noona delcaring she doesn't feel sorry for killing the old bastard who put this poor child through all of this.

They threw things at him, beat him, hurt him... And when they cut to Hyunsoo after being beaten, he just looks dead inside... it's so devastating knowing that they forced him into believing he was being possessed by his father's ghost, to the point that he saw his father's ghost. Now, maybe he really DID see his ghost, but the fact that he was so brainwashed into believing these things? My heart literally ACHES for Hyunsoo... Noona is right. Moojin is NO better. He turned his back on Hyunsoo when he needed him most. Tied him a tree, beat the crap out of him, stoned him. And every single person in that town FAILED Hyunsoo. Hyunsoo was the only real HUMAN out of all of them. And that is SO DEVASTATINGLY HEARTBREAKING. Because he was so unjustly and unfairly FAILED by people he needed most, EXCEPT for Noona.

Okay, Sunbae knows something is going on. He knows that Hyunsoo claiming he killed the old man and how easily the weapon was found was just TOO convenient. He knows. NOW, I'm DYING to know who this one another witness was that said Hyunsoo wasn't a bad person? Was it Noona? Was it someone else? Because every single person in that village ostracized him, that we know of, asides from Haesoo. So what gives??? I want to know who it was... I'm just gonna place a bet that it was Haesoo who had her brother's back because she was the only one who ever did.

Oh.. oh Sunbae... you are 100% and fully fledged redeemed. REDEEMED. Don't imprison an INNOCENT man!!! I think he KNOWS Hyunsoo is innocent, and the look on Hyunsoo's face... he knows the Hyunsoo and Haesoo's childhood tragedy. My heart just twisted. Sunbae. T_T Sorry, but the fact that Sunbae is letting him go, simply by saying he isn't interested in Do Hyunsoo anymore, and that Do Hyunsoo is a good person... I swear I had tears in my eyes because of the hope in theirs!!! I was smiling and had tears in my eyes just like Jiwon because FINALLY!!! He can live his life, he can be with his family, he can love his wife openly and happily, he can raise his daughter with no fear, and... wait, hold up... it's too damn happy. Way too happy. Something bad is going to happen... I can feel it. Yep. Something is coming to literally fuck up their happiness and it's stressful. It really is.

OH GOD this SCENE. This next scene!!! I cried during this scene. I found myself sobbing because of the pure innocence of this scene alone. Our precious baby girl, Eunha!!! She's back!! And she's running and crying in his father's arms... You can already see the emotion on his face as he stoops down for his baby, and he's crying too... It's like years upon years of all these emotions that were built up and hidden behind iron walls are spilling out of him now that the floodgates have burst. Like he just can't help itself, and it's a beautiful thing. It's so good for him, it's cathartic and just what he's needed for so so long. All the years he spent locked behind that wall, believing he was something he wasn't, it's all been set free. He can FEEL. And he show what he's feeling without being told otherwise. He's free to love.

"Daddy! I missed you so so so much!!"

Oh, little sweetie, he did too. He really did. So very much. All the years he's spent watching you grow and raising you, all of those memories and feelings for you, you precious little angel, are welling up inside of him and bursting out of him, on top of the fact that he doesn't have to say goodbye to his baby girl simply due to the fact that he's Do Hyunsoo. That's why he's crying. From the day she was born, to each one of her milestones and young triumphs throughout her life are so important because he sees it all so differently now. When Jiwon't mother says "She acts like they've been separated for years" and Jiwon remains quiet? Because in a sense, they have. Sure, he's seen Eunha almost every single day of her life, but he hasn't really SEEN her til now because he had a heavy, dark veil covering the eyes of his heart.

He's seeing Eunha for the first time and feeling her with his heart, and i find that so overwhelmingly beautiful. Jiwon assures her mother that it's nothing when she worriedly asks what's wrong, that she's never seen him like this before. And Jiwon just tearfully smiles so gently and so softly at her precious family while they cry and embrace because she loves them so much. It's sweet how Jiwon's mother is concerned for them though lol. I wonder if she'll find out...? And how ADORABLE was it when Eunha told her daddy not to cry again because he misses her? She's such a precious little angel and such a good little girl. His kiss on her forehead was the sweetest thing too. What REALLY made me melt in tears was the fact that Hyunsoo says:

"Eunha-ya, daddy loves you a lot."

And Eunha's arm heart... just... GOSH. T____T And even though she tells her daddy not to cry, you can see him tearing up again as he waves bye bye to his little girl off to preschool. It's so beautiful and refreshing to see him finally finding his emotions and finding his feelings and expressing them so honestly. And his little kiss on her forehead. Just end me. I can’t get over how precious the moments these two share truly are. It’s beautiful. ♥

Wooooowwww, so Jiwon was planning on quitting her job as a police officer??? But here we have Sunbae trying to encourage her to seriously think about this decision, because he's right. Giving up a job like that could have a huge affect on her entire life. And to get to work and work like crazy because they're mad busy lol. Ah, Sunbae.

And I just can't get over Hyunsoo and Jiwon's love. I really can't. I love how holds her hand and strokes it gently with his thumb. She asks "What were you thinking about in front of the store earlier?" And BAM! I was right! He was remembering the very first time he ever held Eunha. I'm sure he probably wanted to cry the first time he held her because his heart was likely overwhelmed with all sorts of feelings, but he didn't know how and he couldn't figure them out. And then he says when he met Jiwon, every single moment of his life was filled with first times and I just... I can't... Jiwon has been the most beautiful, welcoming, warming and positive force in his life. If it weren't for her, he may not have ever began his healing process from years upon years of trauma. I love the focus on their hands. I really do. Almost like he didn't want to let her go back to work, and even asking her if she'll be alright. Hyunsoo, you are such a wonderful husband to her. Goodness.

I do love how when Jiwon entered her workroom and the police chief snapped at her, Sunbae was quick to step up with the continued story of Eunha was sick and he sent her home, so she's not been made aware of the situation, which is half-true. Jiwon had NO idea that Yeom Sangchul busted loose and is on the run. Now, here's something interesting...

"How's your kid? Who's sick? Your first or second?"

WAIT... now why are they making it a point to show that Jiwon only has one child right now??? Is there... is that foreshadowing?? Could there maybe be a chance that Eunha might get a brother or sister in the future??? Or is that just my wishful thinking and overthinking it because the police chief just doesn't know enough about her as a person and that's what they're showing us? Hmmm... Well, here's hoping we get that happy ending with Jiwon pregnant and them having a new baby! *fingers crossed* lol Sorry. Just some Hyunsoo/Jiwon fanwishes. Anyway... I got a good chuckle out of the chief trying to cover his ass by passing out energy drink packets and of course Sunbae being his hilariously greedy self with wanting two and talking about the chief being cheap HAH! I laughed. And then Sunbae gets a call from Hyunsoo... WHAT!? What is going on now??? Wanting to talk where Jiwon can't hear?

So, Hyunsoo is still sitting at the front gate in his car and he's thinking back to something Yeom Sangchul said. "Think hard about it. Whom did you tell this secret to? Who do you think ratted you out to me?" Ooooo, I think Hyunsoo's onto something, though. I get why he doesn't want Jiwon to know, but hasn't he learned his lesson yet? Honey, things go south when you keep secrets from your wife. She's also a police officer. You do realize that, right? And she's a badass one at that. I get you're protecting her from knowing that someone is out to get you, but you gotta tread carefully love... you don't want to break trust between the two of you. You need her trust now more than anything.

Oh look, there's human trafficking trash man eating and the equal trash son laying in bed watching the news on his tablet. And her comes trash mom. Is he really still going to continue pulling off that whole fake slow talk "I just got out of a coma. Feel pity for me" crap? Please. We know he can speak just fine considering he did it earlier with the housemaid. Can he spare me the innocence? And why does he still seem to have himself convinced that Hyunsoo is going to kill him?? Hell, if anything, Hyunsoo will just want to help catch his ass and have him thrown in prison for the disgusting stuff Do Minseok did with him.

So, Moojin is going to play the noble idiot again once more for Haesoo by looking for Hyunsoo? Well, you don't gotta look too far, bro. He's a lot closer than you think. Also, the more I think about it, the more I'm with Moojin. Not because my heart is shriveling over him telling Noona to stop saying she'll turn herself in, but I agree. Sunbae let Hyunsoo go saying he has no interest in him anymore. If Noona goes to the police station now and outright admits to killing the village head all those years ago, there's also a chance that they'll all find out that Jiwon's husband is Do Hyunsoo. Sunbae might be willing to overlook that fact, but that doesn't mean the others will.

Side note, but Moojin, why do you think you deserve a SHRED of care from Haesoo after the shit you've pulled? Sorry but that got on my nerves. Stop comparing yourself to Hyunsoo and your importance to Noona. Hyunsoo is her little BROTHER. He's family. There's a HUGE difference. Jeez, Moojin. Stop being so pushy and clingy. She doesn't WANT to go home. She WANTS to go to the police station. You have no right to tell the driver where to send her. Ugh he's so frustrating sometimes. I have such mixed feelings about him.

Alright, so Hyunsoo and Sunbae are at a cafe now talking about the fact that Hyunsoo has a pretty good idea of who's put a hit out on him. That he'll give Yeom Sangchul a shit ton of money to kill him. And it flashes back to trash dad trying to talk Hyunsoo into leaving if he gives him 10 times the amount. WHY can't these people just leave him alone?? For fuck sake. Hyunsoo states it's just an assumption, but we know he's not wrong and he won't tell Sunbae who thinks the person is til he can confirm it for himself with Sunbae's help. This treading into some very dangerous waters.

Moojin, good grief why do you keep bothering her? We're all well aware you like Haesoo, but she isn't interested in a relationship with you or anyone else. She's at the police station, and it's kind of sad because she believes that Moojin is all Hyunsoo has left. She shows up and just about outs herself when Jiwon smoothly covers it up by claiming she's here to identify the human trafficking victims since it's connected to her father's serial killings.

Okay, so... I LOVE this scene. I LOVE their discussion on the rooftop. It's excellent because it's just what Haesoo needs to hear, no matter how harsh Jiwon came across, it was necessary. Haesoo wastes no time in admitting that she knows Jiwon knows everything, and that Hyunsoo had a very justifiable reason for living as Baek Heeseong. I do love how protective she is over her brother, and yet again, she admits to Jiwon that she killed the village foreman and not Hyunsoo. Haesoo, no... she does not think her husband is a dangerous person because they just spent the night before talking about literally everything. Hyunsoo told her everything he could possibly think of. Jiwon loves him unconditionally. She does not think her husband dangerous for a moment.

"Haesoo, Hyunsoo is no longer a little boy that you need to look after. He's the father of my child. He's my family. He's my person. Now, he has a wife who will stand by his side... no matter what happens. He told me his sister is a very kind person. Whenever something bad happened when he was young, he was always the first to be suspected. He told me you always went around telling people he's innocent. He didn't care what other people thought, but you were always the one who cried and felt upset about it. Because you're so kind, he thought you wouldn't be able to endure other people's criticisms. That's why he took the blame. He didn't care what other people thought about him. If you turn yourself in, he'll no longer be a wanted criminal. But he'll feel guilty and indebted to you for the rest of his life. I don't want that. So... please respect your brother's decision. And... you should be the one to feel guilty instead."

"I'm horrible, aren't I?" No, Jiwon. You are not. I won't lie, your words were harsh, but they had to be said. This was totally necessary. They absolutely had to be, because Haesoo needed to understand and know the importance in all of this. She needed to know that her brother is not alone. That he has a loving wife and family to stay by his side. Jiwon tells her that what they talked about today is that if Haesoo recognized any of the victims in regards to her father's crimes and that is supposed to say no. Noona cries and thanks Jiwon for trusting Hyunsoo. Because it's what he needs. A wife to love him, trust him and help him. Haesoo tells Jiwon that while she's still alive, she'll do everything she can to repay her... while she's still alive?? Is anyone else getting possible death flags from Noona...? I'm worried. Really worried about her. Like it has me nervous. If something happens to her after everything Hyunsoo did for her... I just don't even want to think about it.

Here we go with episode9, and all I keep anticipating and denying is that crying in the rain scene.

Oh God his sad backstory is cheating on a math test...wow if only my past was that bad. Can't relate at all, have cheated way too many times at school LOL...

Don't throw food, such a waste of good eggs. These sisters need to bond again and live a thelma and louise lifestyle.

Idk is it good or bad that I am to 99,8% certain how this show will end, and no I don't mean the obvious ship drama but everything else...be more creative and daring, writers in kdrama land

He has all these perfect moments to tell and doesn't have the balls to do it..

And then my baby said what he said, the thunder is on point. Stop that fucking lying game, just stop it.

Ugh that preview us offturning, so the last 7eps will be about them starting over new, I might as well just catch KSH episode moments in youtube. Well at least they stop playing the triangle for good

Reaction to Exit Strategy

Usual warnings apply to the following. I’m feeling more anxious than humorous (good storytelling although it’s messing with the equilibrium of my ship!) but I’m definitely still pinging on the shallow meter with my musings.

Shall we begin? First up are scenes featuring the good ship, D&A.

A Dark Tie for Court

I have heard either blue or black ties are preferred for court so maybe Adrian’s Public Defender knows what he’s talking about. Trafficking carries a minimum of 15 years and a $250,000 fine? In that case I hope the Public Defender doesn’t know what he’s talking about because Adrian? He’s not going to white-collar resort prison, no, no, no, he’s going to federal pound me in the ass prison (quote brought to you by Office Space). At least Adrian upgraded Deran from roommate to boyfriend; perhaps the whole ‘Adrian can’t lie’ mantra made an impact on his behavior.

Shallow Observation: Is it possible to pale on cue? I’m pretty sure STC managed that because I could suddenly count the freckles on the bridge of Adrian’s nose at the end of that scene. He’s not just a pretty face! Although Adrian cleans up quite nicely in his suit. I still pine for the birthday suit.

Point of Comparison: Adrian admits to being Deran’s boyfriend while Pope hammers home what family means (helping your bro bury a dead body?). I don’t like the parallel thus my increased anxiety.

Jess Might Be Small But She’s Mighty

Adrian’s sister is a badass. And she’s no fan of Deran’s. We knew that from previous ep when she had to check if Adrian was at her house but wow, she did not hold back what she felt about Adrian’s boyfriend in this scene. I guess sass runs in the family. I got excited for a moment when Adrian stood up from the table because I thought a hug was imminent but it was a false alarm. Gypped again! I like that Adrian continues to take responsibility for his actions (there’s no way to fix it, it is what it is) although his rant about Codys never being caught and he gets caught with one bad call…*shakes head*. Adrian, dear, you knew the surfboard was too heavy. You tried to do the job anyway. I believe in consequences for actions so you don’t get my sympathy vote this time.

Shallow Observation: Deran looked mighty fine (and I want to hug him!) in this scene although he was completely out of his emotional depth. He didn’t know how to defend himself against Jess, or he didn’t want to because he knows he’s not a great influence on his friend/lover/soulmate. He also didn’t know how to comfort his boyfriend; he only had to squeeze Adrian’s shoulder as he asked about his bad news instead of cradling his bottle awkwardly. Come on, Deran, you know it’s Adrian you want to cradle. Get to it, man!

Party Like It’s 1999

This is probably wishful thinking on my part but we didn’t get to see the scene first hand between Smurf and her cop informer about who’s been talking to the feds. I still think it’s Angela so what if her initials are the same as Adrian’s and that’s the info Smurf received—initials! If that’s the case then she goes shopping for answers by asking Deran (while smoking a joint with him—that’s some excellent mother-son bonding there) how long he’s known Adrian’s been talking to the feds and to handle it and Deran, blank gaze intact, tips his hand to her because that’s his tell--stoneface. Maybe that was the confirmation Smurf was looking for and Deran gave it even though it’s Angela. Too convoluted of a theory? Hey, I’m grasping at any life preserver I can latch onto because an Animal Kingdom without Deran and Adrian is like a PB&J sandwich without jelly.

Movie Nod: Smurf hugging and kissing Adrian after telling Deran to handle him or else she’d have to turn it over to Pope made me feel like I was watching a Godfather movie. Or even Goodfellas. Perhaps one of the scariest Smurf moments I’ve witnessed recently. Run, Adrian, run!

Actual Movie Nod: Smoky and the Bandit was on the movie theater marque where Smurfette and her Gang pulled their job. Oh, sweet irony!

Pope the Family Man

Pope has taken the hardline about family. Either you’re in or your out. It’s interesting considering last year he was willing to kill Smurf and make it look like suicide. J wondered if after Smurf shuffled off this mortal coil if they’d continue to reside at Casa Smurf and keep doing jobs and Pope seemed mystified at the question (why the hell wouldn’t we?). I did enjoy J’s response that Deran has his bar and he’s got Adrian (he’s got a life!) but Pope was having none of it—Nobody’s going anywhere. As a side note I wonder how many bruises Shawn and Emily got filming that scene with him trying to find her injection site…holy crap, that was intense.

Here I was thinking Olivia had some balls when she laid out her evidence and demanded J cheat for her. That was one hell of a one-up by J as he tattled to the professor and then totally crushed her when she told him she’d cared about Josh and he informed her he couldn’t stand trust fund twits. That flat affect. Shark eyes. Yeah, J is officially in the running for most unstable Cody.

Nick

I approve of Renn’s baby name suggestion! I approve even more of Craig’s staunch defense of Renn to her mother. I’m with Deran—I have a hard time picturing Craig as a parent—but maybe these two crazy kids have a shot at normal. Although Smurf did not seem pleased about being a grandmother again, did she?

Parting Thought: If you stay, you’re dead. I had convinced myself that Adrian would be around next season—in prison, but still very much a part of Deran’s life—and with that preview my anxiety level hit an all-time new high and I can’t even blame @meghangrove83 for glass half empty thinking. I don’t want Adrian to go on the run although that is preferable to six feet under.

Ugh. If Adrian isn’t going to be around then I want sex, cuddling, and tears for the rest of the season. In any order but in every episode. Whose with me?!

8. Danger - the track that plays during Bort’s first appearance, and it sounds pretty badass to match

9. Breather - I don’t even know why I like this track so much, it just sounds fun and also kind of chill… like Padparadscha but in song form. I don’t know what I’m talking about, the strings part at the end just gets me okay

10. What is This?! - this is the track that’s played whenever bby Phos is being a little shit and I love them so much. Baby Phos shenanigans are immediately brought to mind. You can practically hear Jade sighing.

11. Transformation - played when alloy Phos is first presented to the other gems after winter and also when Padparadscha wakes up. Fhdcdjxmdj Padpa’s voice in the sub? Hnggg

12. Isolation - that cello part tho. I have to admit, I’m a cellist, so basically any song with a good cello part is immediately on this list.

13. Cinnabar - BABY ANGEL PRECIOUS CHILD I LOVE YOU SO GODDAMN MUCH- But Shinsha as a character aside, this song just feels… so lonely and detached and distant and sad and I want to pick Shinsha up and hug them and never let go

14. Retreat - played during Bort and Phos’ encounter with Shiro (and also that time in ep 12 when Shinsha saves Phos from a sunspot) and like… it’s just so good on so many levels? Like, there are actually layers to this track, and I can feel all of them…. Also, at the part near the end you can totally visualize Bort dragging Phos away from Shiro and then yeeting them at the bell lmao

15. Shiro - play for fun memories of that one time Phos lured Shiro away from the other gems by making a gold fake gem and then getting their ass beat

16. Awakening Power - one of my top faves of the OST; played when Phos discovers their speed and also when Dia and the other gems get Phos out of Ventricosus’ shell and put them back together. It’s like… so hopeful and soft and sweet… it’s just really good okay

17. Phos and Cinnabar - “WHY ARE YOU RUNNING???? WHY ARE YOU RUNNING”; jokes aside, I thought this was a cool rendition of Shinsha’s theme so yeah

18. Hibernation - time to cry over the winter arc :’)))

19. Kyoumen no Nami Orchestral ver - okay so there are two versions of this one, one that has the actual song and the other that’s an instrumental, and they’re both so good oh my god

20. Land of the Lustrous - this is my ultimate OST fave because it is a fucking medley and I’m weak for medleys okay??? Like, the song transitions and the whole composition is just so good and I literally love this so much. Also, them having Shinsha’s theme after Phos’? ;)))

21. C’mon! - played only once during the entire anime, and that’s when Sensei stomps into the school to scold Phos for running off into the sea. That entire scene is fucking hilarious and I love it and this track so much

i just watch ep 14 and i think i have lack of brain cells to know what is happening because i am very confused, not to lie. this post is focusing on mostly jisoo and seungmo. but let’s start off with ep 13, shall we?

first up, jisoo’s death hit me very hard. i mean when i saw other people die in a drama, i would be like “oh, he/she is dead.” but when i saw jisoo died, i was like “nani the fuck? why is this happening and why?” i was so upset and it felt like a heavy rock in my heart, but then after ep 14, i knew why.

at first i thought that it was not worth it, but it could be character growth for seungmo. her death impacted and at the same time motivated a lot of people at the same time, her father, jaein, lee ahn, seungmo and more. she was the one that stand out, knowing that she has to go against her father etc and the one that will really willing to find the truth, she is the brightest character among all, which makes her fresh in this drama.

a lot of people cried in these two eps, lee ahn, jaein, doctor hong and a lot. it just shows that she is meaningful to everyone inside the drama, not to the killer or seungmo’s mother. everyone appreciates her more than any character in this drama, i mean, that is what i felt. i felt okay, just a little because she died in seungmo’s hands instead of other people’s.

i was really hoping a happy ending for both of them and because she’s dead, now i just thought that happy ending doesn’t exist anymore. i found it not so worthy in ep 13 but until i saw ep 14 and her death kinda made it reasonable for me but still not worth it by the way.

jisoo always wanted to change seungmo, at least to a happier person? you can see it from the earlier eps (man, suddenly i want to earlier eps to be back.) she did, but she didn’t realised that she did it. when seungmo said that “everyone believed him. only one thought otherwise, the one who questioned the truth was eun jisoo.” he has a drop of tear dripping down his cheeks, and it hit me right on the spot.

i’m sure that he didn’t learn feelings from his mother unless on the dictionary that ahn found, or maybe just pain but never really felt love or sadness. he wasn’t alone but i do think that eun jisoo taught him love at least. i still think that he has feelings for him but didn’t wanted to show, but was showed in ep 14. i pretty sure he kinda regretted not confessing to her. and it also hit him that she’s dead, it was the first time i ever seen him crying hard, this is when sadness took over him.

jisoo changed him, she really did. her bubbly personality was brushed across his coldness against the world, it felt like fire brush across ice and melting it. her death changed him as well, he wanted to kill his father as a revenge, but changed when she was dead. instead he left his father slowly dying and making ahn finding his father, which i think is a smart move. rather than fast killing that pain would be gone faster, slowly killing is the best, the pain would be there longer.

the sunflower necklace, it has a picture of both of them which make sense that why jisoo is looking whenever seungmo is mentioned. i do want more moments or scenes about them and i just hope that they will give it to us, the jisoo x seungmo shippers. but it was really cute when jisoo pulled him and forced him to smile, that scene were all goals.

i guess i knew the reason why he wanted to jaein to ask him questions, he knew that she knew about ahn’s power and knew it maybe more than anyone else in that room. but at the same time, hitting them right in the face that ahn’s powers don’t serve as a pointer to add up on his so-called crime? i’m not too sure if it is just me or seungmo’s eyes are WAY colder than usual? i mean i don’t see any soul behind his eyes anymore when jisoo is around?

i am dying, there isn’t any preview for ep 15 and he is psychometric took a huge turn of drama and it’s cliche. i can think that the writers was having some papers of cliche scenes and throwing them out of the window. i mean you will be expected this or that to happen but it didn’t, which makes people surprise even more. i don’t think we should expect a happy ending for seungmo or even the main couple, prepare our hearts for the worst but what will be the worst when jisoo is dead? i am amazed not to lie.

i want kim kwon and dasom to act as the main character in a romance drama with a happy ending like what lee dongwook and yoo in na so tvn please make a drama for them, i will wait no matter what. and i saw a post that posted about “this is tvn and not ocu.” i kinda don’t get it what it means so can anyone explain it to me? and also i need wallpapers for my two babies.

Okay, I have no idea how coherent this is gonna be or what I’m gonna write but let me try to write down a few words about the latest episode anyway:

Starting with the first match up, I was glad that Naganadel managed to give Tapu Koko a few hits even though it was clear from the beginning it would lose. Well done, poison baby! (And aw at Ash’s reaction, he was glad he got to battle with it once more)

And then to Tapu Koko vs. Pikachu... I thought it was a perfect way to end this league because Tapu Koko has of course showed interest in Ash since episode one and... it just really kinda tied everything together. It was also neat to see Kukui giving it orders!

Kukui complimenting Ash/telling him he had gotten even stronger during the league ;___; And Ash getting moved by his words... that is the content I signed up for...

The whole Z-move sequence... First of all, it was an incredible honor for Kukui to get to use the Tapu Z-move and for some reason I felt touched by that gesture :’) When the ‘titan’ thing appeared, I was like... how the F is Ash gonna answer to that... but then. Then they had to show that montage of everything Ash had experienced in Alola and that sure hit the woman! It was what gave him and Pikachu the strength and I don’t think there could have been a better way to finish that battle.

And when Ash collapsed on the ground as a winner... I was clapping and smiling and almost tearing up as well, and most of all, so proud of my son :’) You really are a champion!! And you passed the class Kukui & everyone gave you in Alola :’))) (I loved that Hala realized Tapu Koko’s test too)

Oh, and Ash and Pikachu’s friendship in this battle overall... Just beautiful. They really are soulmates :’)

And... the (a little too brief, lol) father-son moment after the battle ♥♥ I love these two so much! The headpat of affection is my favorite thing (also in FMA, lol) and I love it even more now.

Overall, I just really loved everything and thought that this was definitely a battle I’m gonna remember for a long, long while. Yes, I can say it’s my favorite battle in all of Pokemon anime. Like I’ve said many times already, it wrapped up everything in a very beautiful way and this battle alone raises the entire season’s value in my eyes a whole lot. Well done, S&M.

And then... the preview. That broke my heart a bit. Sad Ash who doesn’t know what to do next/doesn’t wanna leave his Alolan family behind... And I’m ngl, even tho Kukui’s lines can be interpreted in many ways, I still wanna think he too is sad because he knows Ash is leaving. Because he’s the ultimate dad :’)

Ok, that’s all, loved the ep a lot, am dreading the last few eps but also looking forward to them!

Deku vs Kacchan 2, full episode live reaction/commentary

AHHHH it’s time and finally here, the important and long-awaited cathartic showdown I’ve been wanting to see animated for ages, as one of my most favorite parts of the manga, both character and relationship wise. ;A; Managed to stay offline and avoid reaction spoilers so I could see it fresh for myself without any distractions. So here we go with my whole in depth breakdown of the episode! 8’D Where I repeatedly get stabbed in the heart and end up completely losing my shit! Length: 4000+ words.

Edit: several of the sub’s lines have since been shown to be mistranslated, which I still transcribe here for comparison’s sake, since I already have the manga’s script memorized anyway. :’D

Last ep left us hanging with Deku’s reaction to Kacchan’s proposal for a fight, so bam, I’m glad this ep starts off immediately with his fumbling answer to him (midpoint of ch117). Ahh, if there’s one thing I miss from the manga, it’s the panel of Kacchan’s deadpan reaction to Deku’s rambling. The anime instead keeps his face half hidden until–

GAH!!!! ;A; THERE IT IS!!! His sudden face of open and honest sincerity! (One of my fav manga panels actually.) Subs have his line as, “What part of you made All Might do what he did? Let me see for myself. If the way you admired him was correct, then does that mean my admiration was wrong?” Oh noo... :’O The anime doesn’t show his whole face warping into a pained, unnerving expression like the manga does (and in a way I was hoping to see that transition animated), but instead shows an extreme close up of his eye, desperate and dead serious. Gbhgh, very tense and chilling (omg plus that dramatic choir ost swelling in the bg is getting to me too).

Flashback to both their childhood lines about All Might! UGH!!! I was not expecting baby Deku’s line to be that broken and watery! D’8 And said over the image of them standing opposed like that??!!! URGHHH fucking hell!!!

Crying and trembling baby Deku’s aspirations, said when he found out he was quirkless, with his dreams probably permanently crushed, and emotionally at his lowest, helpless, and most vulnerable point, REALLY GETS TO ME?! Fuck!! Just a prelude to seeing Kacchan’s turn at his most emotionally vulnerable too. (gwah, break for the opening, hah I forgot that hadn’t even played yet :P)

….!!!!!! 👀👀 Shit, shit!! There’s almost no room to breathe here! Ayy they show Kacchan stretch his arms and note how Deku uses kicks now (yoo he’s observant and watches Deku too), but gah! You can really feel Deku’s ‘hold on, wait!!’ pleas, because holy fuck this is jumping into it so fast! I’m not ready either!! D8

Ok, I can actually breathe a bit when Deku slows down to analyze which hand Kacchan will use, but ohh!!! They animated one of my fav effects, the popping sparks on Kacchan’s palm before he lets it all loose. :’D Hoo, “You like to read a lot into things, huh?” They don’t show the manga’s direct view of his smirk for this line, but do show the panels for their dual “Come on!” vs “Are you serious, Kacchan?” lines. (Hooboi, I’m recognizing manga panels left and right here. And why yes, Deku, Kacchan has been dead serious about what he wants from you this whole time.)

Yooo, that one sliding shot of them closing in face to face from the preview, but damn, that extra shot of all the over the top destruction to their vicinity. Whew, now that’s impressive for showing the scale/magnitude and seriousness of his explosions. :O (The collateral damage wasn’t shown nearly to that extent in the manga however, so wow. Also uwaah at the chilling ost for when Aizawa is notified.)

Ayyy!!! My fav bits of popping sparks are animated again. :D What isn’t shown is the manga’s detailed close up panels of them crouched on opposite sides of the road, but rather now they’re standing there, until Kacchan forcefully leaps onto Deku’s side. Visually this is an interesting and heyyy symbolic change.

Mmmm!!! Deku’s pleas for him to wait remind Kacchan of when baby Deku used to say the same to him in the past. :’))) To wait for him so Deku could catch up from following behind. Hrgh, symbolic flashback montage time. ;.; “No matter how much I beat you up,” ehhh more like he knocked Deku back down whenever he intruded too close for comfort, to try and make him stay back and stop pursuing him (to no avail however), “you were always stuck to my back like glue…!” Yup, because Deku’s spirit never gave up. :’) Ah, and now present Kacchan telling him, “Don’t run! Fight!” feels like a very challenge TO Deku’s tendency to always stick close to him. The Deku he’s always known can’t just break that behavior now and run away, especially not when Kacchan’s actually invited/allowed him into his space this time (figuratively, by acknowledging and offering the fight)! :O

“Even though we both admired the same person…!” ;.; To which Kacchan also recalls All Might’s words to him from their final exam, and how their levels of growth are different. (ok and by the way, the ost during this part is !!!!!) Fuck, fuck!!! D8 All Kacchan’s repeated and desperate questions “why?!” during their rapid back and forth of mixed blows, blocks and kicks…! (omgggg this animated sequence!) To Deku’s surprise counter-kick back, and…

The trip and FALL. (btw ost completely silences now) It’s coming it’s coming it’s coming…! Notice the position of the street’s center divide line. How both of them are stopped so close to the center now, yet still edging on opposite sides. Deku, shocked and realizes Kacchan might be hurt…powers down and instantly runs to him with the familiar outstretched hand & offer to help! ;A; Throwback to the river incident when Kacchan also fell and Deku offered THE same question, “A-Are you okay?” Ooof, the instant nerve button and animated slap away!

Ffffruuggh!! Shit, it’s happening; Kacchan’s voice is breaking. ;A; How he teeters and stands up swaying. “Why did I end up having to chase after the back of someone who was always behind me?” URGHH oh goddd, I’m in pain with the raspy broken delivery already. Also, now that Kacchan’s standing up, his feet are parted on both sides of the line, where now both him and Deku are standing in the center of the road. “Why did a damn small fry like you get strong…and become acknowledged by All Might…? Why is it that you become strong…but I…” SHIT SHIT SHIT;;; “Why was I…” Ohhhh my god, the slow raise of his head…!

“Why was I the one who ended All Might?!” HHHRRUUGHHH!!! THERE IT IS!! The most pained face of desperation and anguish. At probably his most conflicted and emotionally vulnerable point that he’s ever been in the story ;A; Just fucking end me where Nobu makes his voice crack and go all shrill while letting it all out. Some animated sakuga on the delivery and shake of his head here too, kkrghh. ;.; “If I’d been stronger and if I hadn’t been kidnapped by villains, then that wouldn’t have happened…” (ost starts again, and hrgg yes, the animated wipe at his eyes) “All Might tried to keep it a secret…I couldn’t tell anyone! Even if I try not to think about it…it just comes to mind unexpectedly!” (fuck me upppp, the way they animated him shaking his head here ;A;) “I don’t know what to do!” THE TEARS!!! It…it finally happened, and welp, I’m a mess now too. ;A; Kacchan’s line where he wails he doesn’t know what to do, would have had extra context/weight with Twice’s chapter shown before it (as in the manga). Because Twice notes how important it is to know ‘who you are and what you want to do’...and right now we see Kacchan currently struggling at that same personal and internal impasse. (Fortunately it looks like Twice’s part will still be adapted later.)

The shock here, that Deku feels, that I felt when I first read this part in the manga…and the realization that solidified with it, made me finally understand who my fav character was all along. There was no longer any doubt or denial holding me back anymore. Kacchan is that bleeding heart. At his most openly raw and vulnerable, bearing his true self for the entire audience and most importantly, for only Deku to see. Oh no…MY BOYYYYYYYY!!! ;A; <3333 “He’s been carrying this with him this whole time…! More than me…this whole time… He’s been worrying about it…Thinking about it…”

Hrgh, and Deku understands now too, just how much self-blame and guilt Kacchan put himself through after All Might’s retirement. Kacchan had been in more pain over it than Deku. With Deku shouldering the responsibility of All Might passing the torch onto him with the ‘your next’ line, Kacchan had shouldered the responsibility of believing he was the very reason that caused the end to his idol’s legacy of heroism. Taking a stab wound through his own heart, enduring that burden all by himself, and without able to tell anyone about it either. All while keeping up appearances that he’s ‘strong’ on the outside, yet all along hating how weak he actually is. Because of his inability and powerlessness to prevent this huge loss from happening in the first place.

“There might not be any meaning in this fight. There might not be any meaning in winning or losing. Even so, I thought that I had to go through with it. Because right now, I’m the only one who can accept Kacchan’s feelings.”

BOIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!! There it is! ;A; Because it’s so true. Deku is the only one who can possibly understand both the familiarity and magnitude of what Kacchan is going through now. Good lord, Deku monologues this while Kacchan slowly steps towards him, teetering on the edge of the literal white line!!! Ah wait no, he steps over it and runs to the other (Deku’s) side of the road!! URGHHHHH!!!! Destroy me with this visual ‘walking the line’ symbolism!! ;A; Even Deku braces himself over both sides of the center line, to receive and deliver an answering kick right back at him, in the physical language Kacchan wants right now. Here we goooo~

More Deku internal monologue: “He might’ve just wanted to release these feelings he couldn’t do anything about by fighting. Even if that was the case, I couldn’t just completely reject him. It was kind of twisted if you thought about it.” Hrm, choosing to word it as a ‘twisted’ way of thinking, huh. “From kindergarten to elementary school, middle school, and high school…We’ve known each other for a long time, but until now, we’ve never talked about how we really felt.” Krgh, fuck me uppp with that shot of them back to back together. ;A;

Ahhhh!!! This part of the action resembles Nakamura’s a bit, with the dynamic zoom ins, impact frames, and flashy flame effects. ;A; Can only just sit in awe and watch it happen. No thinking indeed.

GUH! All the way up to the physical strike Kacchan gives to Deku’s core…ouch ouch;;; That bit animating how Deku dents the railing from the force of impact tho. D8 Omg these manga panels are implemented so quick, with them reacting and continuing without pause! Deku backflipping off the rail, but Kacchan catches his arm and throws him. The recoil landing him back in same place where Deku first landed on the rail too. Gosh these details!! DD8

“It’s only natural, but I’ve gotten stronger…” hrmm, the manga had it seem like Deku was comparing his slow reaction time to Kacchan’s rapid moves, while also praising him out loud too. Now, the subs have Deku talking and referring to only himself…to which Kacchan responds with “What’re you smiling about!?”…so which pronoun is the truth. But oh shit!!! Yoooo, that ost begins! 8’DD

“I’m sure you’re up to something! That’s what makes me sick! I can’t tell what you’re thinking! No matter how much I beat you up, you stick close! Even though you were nothing, it’s like you’re looking down on me!” *gasp* Only now, does Deku finally register and hear those words. It’s the same thing Kacchan told him during their first vs match, how he felt Deku was always looking down on him. They didn’t stop to listen to each other, and couldn’t even accurately read each other’s signals, this whole time! “That attitude you have like you’re better than me, like you’re seriously gonna surpass me– It’s an eyesore!” Because yep, Kacchan just can’t understand Deku’s intentions either. Can’t read or fathom why on earth Deku would bother to keep coming back to him regardless of all his attempts to keep him away.

“Is…Is that what you thought?” (ah yes, and I notice how Kacchan is standing on both sides of the white line again) “I mean, normally, if someone keeps looking down on you, you won’t want anything to do with them anymore.” Ya Deku, because that’s the same thing Kacchan thought about you too, that he felt like he was also being looked down on, by someone who was perpetually and already deemed the weakest, so he tried to distance himself from the walking conundrum (the contradictory person he couldn’t understand: Deku) that incited those confusing and wary feelings. Avoiding Deku didn’t work, physically and verbally pushing him away didn’t work, because Deku always returned back to him. If Kacchan ultimately couldn’t do anything about it, then the only thing left for him to wonder, is WHY?!

“But like I said before, because I had nothing at first, along with the parts I hated about you, I saw vividly all the amazing things you could do!” UWAHH!!

There it is, the sub’s version of the ‘to the same extent as all of your unpleasant traits, your sheer amazingness at everything you do was so brilliant to me, it was blinding!’ :’))))) “You, who had so much that I didn’t have, were an amazing person much closer to me than All Might!” BAWWWWW!!! There it is! ;A; His ‘Kacchan sugoi!’ Comparing everything he admired in him to something much closer, reachable, and worth aiming for in his life than their far-off, distant idol, All Might. ;.; As the answer to Kacchan’s why: Deku had always chased and sought after him, because he was that personal source of inspiration. How Deku viewed the positives he saw in him was so important, it likely kept the hope of his aspirations afloat ever since he was a toddler, when Deku had otherwise nothing else to keep him going. Without Kacchan nearby in Deku’s life, it’s doubtful Deku’s spirit would have even grown as strong as it is today. Kacchan is that important to him!!

(Holy fuck this is only just the HALFWAY POINT of the ep!! ;A; They managed to cover THIS much content in 10 min, whewboi that’s impressive.)

Omgg there it is, Kacchan’s unhinged grin at seeing Deku momentarily gain on him with a solid hit he could not avoid. Hoho, perhaps he likes it. ;) Finally getting a worthy answer and challenge to play toe to toe. His game on literally flares at that! Bonus: his eyes finally have a visible shine returned to them!!!! ;A;

Ok omg wait no, THIS animated part looks more like Nakamura’s style! Improvising off the manga’s panels for a flashy new set of choreography with plenty of impact frames!! 8D Fav part, to no one’s surprise: the shot of Kacchan’s glowing/sparking palm. Oh fuk that’s cool. <3

Hoho, and it’s not just Kacchan’s game that’s sparked, Deku’s has been too, to the point he even starts channeling Kacchan’s more ill-mannered traits. “This is gross, so I can’t tell you to your face, but…” (omg wut, gross? Heh goodness, Deku’s that embarrassed by it. :P) “When my feeling of ‘I have to beat you’ is stronger than ‘I have to save you,’ I inadvertently start spouting more insults. That’s the part of you that I hate, but the image of ‘victory’ I have inside me is of you.” …!!!!!! Urggkgh ;.;

Deku’s inner confession time. When he wants to win just as badly just as Kacchan does, aka his ‘what would Kacchan do?’ moments, without consciously controlling it, he starts behaving just like him too, foul-mouthed and all. :’D Even taking on the parts of him he dislikes. Kacchan’s influence runs that deep, and he’s set that much of an amazing, winning example to strive for, that Deku pretty much unconsciously becomes the embodiment of him whenever he gets desperate too. Whew, let that sink in. For how much Deku values Kacchan. :’D

Hooo, love the shot of Kacchan leaping up, for the way it’s framed AND because his eyes appear to be glowing red. :’D Yuuus, adapting a manga panel so nicely!

“I’m not a nice enough guy to just go along with your stress-relieving fight.” Hoho! And yuus, Deku has his own backbone to fully stand up to him with his own strength. Omgg and the shot zooming in from afar with the camera doing a full rotation around them leaping at each other! Ahhh! So cool!

Deku’s not handicapped to stick to just his legs (that would be using only half his repertoire, which wouldn’t fly in an honest, all-out challenge vs Kacchan) “I want to beat you, the incarnation of victory!” ;A; “In order to meet the expectations of All Might, who chose me!” By delivering his classic, straight ‘smash’ punch!

Krhggh!!! The punch actually brings shine to Kacchan’s eyes too, at the moment he resolves not to lose. His trademark tenacity and resourcefulness are not to be underestimated! Omgg, the animation of his arm grabbing Deku’s sleeve! :O Flipping them into an explosive pile-drive right down to the asphalt.

Smoke clears, and AKLFHLGHGJHGJ?! It’s the pin where they’re both breathing and wheezing hard!!! (Truth be told, when I first saw this page in the manga, it left me going uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh for…what it almost looks like. :P) Fucking hell, animation team went even further with the tightening movements in the close up shots for each hold. ERMM 👀;;; Ahahaha wow, I can’t ignore how suggestive this looks, uh, and hears. Omg BONES pls. ;D

Yooo, and even though Kacchan won this, he’s not happy or gloating about it either. Rather he reproachfully questions Deku, while still taking heaving breaths over him, ahh and there’s less blood on his face than expected, that if he has All Might’s power, then what is he doing losing? “Even with that power…even if you made that your own…You still lost to me…Hey…Why did you lose?” Like Kacchan can’t believe it himself. Heck, even from the pained look on his face, it’s almost like he wanted Deku to win.

Speak of the devil! Because the man himself arrives, having heard the whole thing. Ayy, and we have both boys completing each other’s sentence upon seeing him too. :’)

Kacchan’s “It’s too late…” while looking away, in response to All Might apologizing for not noticing, has me pained. ;.; Now, fully asking All Might the same ‘why’ about Deku too, for a clear answer this time. ‘I thought you were strong as someone who could already compete; he was powerless but more heroic than anyone else, so I decided he should also be able to stand in the ring.’

“I’m weak, too, you know…!” ;A; Ah!!! Oh no, my heart. “I always wanted to be strong, like you! It’s because I’m weak…that I made you turn into that…!” Uhuhuu, oh no, my boy. <333 Ooof, and while the manga showed Kacchan’s pained, guilt-ridden face to All Might here, now the anime shows Deku’s astonished reaction to his line too. :’) Mmm, that moment of rare yet honest humility from Kacchan. Savor it, for the truth of how he feels.

Double oof and BAWWWW!! Animated Dad Might’s reassuring and comforting hug!! ;A; That none of what happened to him was Kacchan’s fault to begin with. Along with All Might’s regret that he overlooked how this would affect him, only seeing his strength from the outside, and ending up making him bear that kind of burden alone. (He’s still only just a 15/16yr old kid to be dealing with this! D:), Krgghhh aww man, Kacchan really needed this; he’s practically starved for it. Even if the softness received from his idol’s compassion and a sincere apology still hurts. The reality still stings. Uwah, that dejected slap away from his touch. ;.;

“After being a hero for a long time, I’ve seen that being fixated on victory like you, Young Bakugo, and wanting to save those in trouble like, you, Young Midoriya…If either of those feelings is missing, then a hero won’t be able to carry out the justice he wants to carry out. Like how you, Young Midoriya, admired Young Bakugo’s strength, and how you, Young Bakugo, feared Young Midoriya’s heart…Now that your feelings are out in the open, I think you both understand. If you both recognize each other and can focus on making each other stronger, then you can save people to win and win to save people, becoming the greatest heroes.”

DESTROY ME RIGHT NOW!!!! ;A; It’s…the iconic LINE! Bonus YES!!!! Animating their slow, softening expressions to become more open as the realization sinks in, just like in the manga’s split panels! ;A; AHHHHH all of my feels! <333 Because it’s just as All Might says: that by supporting and helping each other improve, especially in the specialized areas where the other’s lacking, their combined strengths can become much stronger together than they could only operating alone. Greatest hero duo foreshadowing! 8D

“You…had the strongest guy lay the groundwork for you. Don’t lose.” :’DDD That kind of humble encouragement from Kacchan to Deku, ahhh good.

Omg, All Might’s extra line, “I should be bowing and begging you to keep this secret. Just how much will I need you to be considerate for my sake…? Sorry, thanks.” !!!! ;.; I don’t remember this line put exactly like this, but it’s just…compared to what All Might’s already had to do, prostrating himself in front of others to keep his word, Kacchan is…well, when things are truly important, he’s probably one of the most honest and faithful guys there is. He keeps true to his word; he can be trusted. :’) “I’m not being considerate. It’s just too big a risk with too many drawbacks to spread this around.” Heh well, taking the smart and logical excuse then. :P And just like Kacchan can be trusted where things matter, All Might deems it worthy at this point to allow him the truth behind everything involving OfA and its history too.

Hoooo, I love how afterwards, when both boys are following All Might, on both sides of the road now, they’re also at the same equal distance back, side by side, without either falling behind. :’))) Ahh small symbolism for what’s changed in their dynamic. “Jeez, damn Deku, why’d you have to go and tell me for?” BECAUSE HE CARES ABOUT YOU, DUMBASS! And didn’t want you to feel like you were being tricked or lied to! ;A; (Yet...Kacchan still felt that way anyway) Agghh well, these hopeless fools. :’) Bonus soft Kacchan. <3

“But unlike what I’ve been doing until now, Deku– Like how you’ve been watching me and everything around you and absorbing it to get stronger, I’ll also make everything my own to go higher. Higher than even you, the chosen one.” :DD Yuus! Kacchan’s conviction not to cease his own aspirations, but rather to focus even higher than Deku, and now with a greater awareness on how to approach that mutual climb.

“The…then, I’ll go even higher than that! I have to get higher than you!” “I said, I’m gonna surpass you!” “And I’m saying that I need to go higher than that!” “What?!”

Ahaha, it shifts to their comedic bickering back and forth, as All Might muses how they’ve become more like proper rivals now. :’D Yuus, and now the secret behind All Might and OfA became a secret among the three of them. :’)))

Even more comedy seeing them both captured in Dadzawa’s tape! XD But what’s also so nice/fun about this is how they react like a pair of equally troublesome kids, both on the same page now. :’3

All Might gives his astute explanation, “Young Bakugo felt responsible for my retirement. He had to face the exam with those pent-up feelings, and in the end, his inferiority complex exploded.” Hmm, exploded quite literally. “It was because I didn’t realize and was negligent in his mental care…It was a fight brought about by the failure of adults…” :’)))) I’m glad All Might is humble and aware enough to realize and admit all of this. Tending for the students’ mental health, especially after a potentially traumatic event, and especially as children with no frame of reference on how to deal with any of this alone, is so important. Even the adult teachers learn how to do things better. It’s also heartwarming to see how All Might takes up the responsibility for causing Kacchan to fail his exam, reasoning Kacchan was too preoccupied with the pent-up feelings over his retirement that he couldn’t properly focus. Trading Kacchan’s responsibility of shouldering the burden, onto his own. Dad Might is so good. <3

Hooo, and yup, Kacchan owns up to what he did and admits he threw the first punch. :’DDD Oho, but Deku won’t run away from what happened either, “I also went in pretty hard.” Ayyy, slowly maturing boys. <3

AFTER CREDITS SCENE!! Of their house arrest cleaning!!! :’D Oh sweet, Uraraka asks if they’ve made up. :’3 Yes, she supports them getting along too! YESSS then the quiet scene of them vacuuming alone! 8D

“About my Shoot Style… How was it…?” *long nervous pause, from both their povs* “The motions when you’re preparing to do a move are too big.” *cue soft mellow ost!* “Even when you got faster, I was able to just barely react in time. It’s not good for a slugfest.” “I see...” “When you used it with your punch, it made me mad.” *cue Deku’s honest surprise, and WOBBLY SMILE* ;A; “I see…!”

HRGGHH yes, their newly soft, tentative, awkward, yet ‘normal’ interactions. :’D As tender as a band-aid freshly removed and the skin left to heal on its own. The awkward dorks are taking wholesome baby steps now. With Kacchan willingly offering Deku encouragement and fighting advice in his own way. ;A; (Heh, Deku’s mixed, overly telegraphed style made him mad when Kacchan actually got caught off-guard.) Boi I cry, especially when the ost finally started up, nurturing that collective awwww moment. They are good and learning boys, and this is just the beginning! :’D

100 Days My Prince, Ep.1

Suprisingly, that is one fast-paced episode. Like WTH show! We’re just at episode 1 and somehow, a lot of angst has already happened.

Kiddy-angsts.

I mean, what would a kid do?

He witnessed the mass murder of his puppy-love’s (calling it that coz they’re too cute!) whole family. Then his little body tried to stand up for the injustice in front of his eyes by trying to stop the killings with his tiny voice and even tinier fists. Only to be crushed by the fact that his own dad was behind these evil acts.

And then he was abandoned by mum. Left in the care of his now-hated father.

All in one day. The world sucks.

Now we know why Crown Prince Yeol has such a mean face every fuckin’ time. Poor kid.

Don’t be fooled though. He wasn’t always like that. Show blessed us with how he was pre-massacre. When he was just a smol bean..

Little Yeol is one cheeky kid. You’d never guess that the crown prince used to smile like an idiot - in front if his mum and his budding-baby-crush. And he’s sooo tiny. Yet sooo cheeky.

Even as a kid, he already has this air about him.

Royalty.

Arrogant and entitled. A total brat. And then..

WHACK!

He met I-Seo and this would be their first meeting.

One would call it fated.

I would call it - a preview of what’s to happen in their actual future. 100 days of it. LOL.

Now. Little I-seo is a wildfire. Wooden-sword-wielding-baby-girl-in a hanbok. Awesome right? She’s basically a bad-ass as a toddler. No Joseon pre-teen did that. And did y’all see how she manhandled little Yeol? She whacked and she threatened baby boy to submission. And all this just to protect her family’s boy-servant. DAEBAK.

16 years passed and little Yeol became the cold Crown Prince. While little I-seo became Hong Shim - oldest unmarried woman of Joseon.

Like most sageuks, Show reeks of palace intrigues and quest for power, which I like. We need these conflicts. What are the baddies motivation? Why kill In-seo’s dad.

And then we have a deja-vu-esque shot of prince and newish ommoner under the sakura trees.

This triggered a memory in him that he tried to run after her.

End.

D O is doing a great job as broody Yeol. His slight expressions and nuances when annoyed is golden. He’s so regal here.

And Ji Hyun, well, she’s always excellent. Hong Shim tearing up in front of her old house just breaks my heart.

Crown princess Soo Hee annoys me. Which means she’s doing a good job.

I liked episode 1. It’s quite interesting.

Also, why is Yeol clutching his heart ???

Toonami Weekly Recap 3/31/2018 - April Fool's Day Edition

Black Clover EP#16 - Friends (Dubbed): Yuno, Mimosa, and Klaus get close to the treasure chamber in the dungeon. However, a mage from the Diamond Kingdom named Mars gets in their way.

FLCL Alternative EP#01 - Flying Memory: A preview of the upcoming season of FLCL, with only English subtitles. Coming in June.

Mind Game: Nishi is a 20-year-old loser with dreams of becoming a comic book artist. One late evening he runs into his childhood crush, Myon, on the subway. Nishi declares he has always loved her, but she tells him she is due to marry someone else.

They go to her father's yakitori restaurant, and see Myon's father and her elder sister Yan (who runs the restaurant). Nishi also meets Myon's fiancee, Ryo. Two yakuza gangsters enter, Atsu and a senior yakuza whom Atsu calls Aniki (lit. brother. A term used by Yakuza to refer to each other). They are looking for Myon's father, who seduced and stole Atsu's girlfriend, and now hides cowering behind a corner. It is later revealed through flashbacks that the senior yakuza is actually the first boyfriend of the girls' mother, who was also seduced away by her husband during a disco in their youth.

As Atsu threatens Myon with a gun, Ryo steps in and tries to punch Atsu, but instead gets knocked out. Atsu then prepares to rape Myon, who calls out Nishi's name. Atsu turns on Nishi, who is rolled in a ball, terrified, placing his pistol against Nishi's anus. The gun goes off when Nishi suddenly moves, thus killing him instantly. The senior Yakuza, offended by Atsu's lack of control, shoots him dead, and then nonchalantly orders dinner.

Meanwhile, Nishi is in some sort of limbo where he encounters a being whose physical image changes every fraction of a second, Kami-sama (God). Kami-sama directs Nishi to walk into a red portal where he will disappear, but at the last moment Nishi runs for the opposite blue portal in order to return to life. Kami-sama becomes impressed by Nishi's sheer will to live, and so lets him escape.

Nishi returns to the moment just before Atsu pulled the trigger. This time, Nishi seizes Atsu's gun with his buttocks, and shoots him dead. He, Yan and Myon all pile into the yakuza's car, leaving the father and Ryo (still unconscious) behind. They speed off, followed by the massed yakuzas. The Yakuza boss rings (calls) Nishi using the yakuza's car phone and reveals that Atsu was a player on the Japanese national soccer team. Then after further chase the boss has his men force the trio in to a dead end on a bridge. However, Nishi steers the car off the bridge and they are swallowed up by an enormous whale.

Inside the whale, they meet an old man who was formerly yakuza and has been trapped in the whale for more than 30 years. (He is later shown through flashbacks to be the father of the senior Yakuza shown earlier). He shows them to the elaborate suspended house he has constructed over the 'sea' inside the whale's belly. Nishi attempts to escape the whale but he fails and they resign themselves to life inside the whale. Yan practices dancing and art, Myon practices swimming (a dream she gave up when her breasts got bigger), Nishi practices writing and drawing humorous manga and he and Myon finally become sexually intimate.

They attempt to leave the whale, again failing. And the old man reveals that the water level inside the whale is rising, and he believes the whale is probably dying. They concoct a plan to make a motor boat out using spare parts and fuel from the car they arrived in. On the day before the final match of the soccer World Cup, the whale returns to Osaka (their home town) and Yan, Nishi, Myon, as well as the Old Man, manage to escape.

As the four fly through the air, the film returns to its very first scene, with Myon running from the Yakuza, only this time she does not get her leg caught in the door of the train, and the Yakuza is left behind on the platform. This is followed by a lengthy montage, similar to that of the opening credits, showing the histories of the various characters. The movie ends ambiguously, with the phrase "This Story Has Never Ended" appearing before the credits roll.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders: Battle in Egypt EP#31 - Bastet’s Mariah, Part 2 (Subtitled): Joseph and Avdol try to get themselves detached from each other, facing all kinds of embarrassment in the process, only to wind up stuck on a railroad track as a train approaches. Thanks to Magician's Red managing to burn a hole underneath the tracks before they are run over, Avdol and Joseph escape their predicament and continue pursuing Mariah, who they believe has to keep a certain distance from them in order to maintain her Stand ability. Despite being weighed down by an increasing array of metallic objects, Joseph and Avdol confront Mariah in a pincer attack, but are caught in a trap as she sets off several loose power cables that are drawn to their magnetism. However, the duo manage to utilise their magnetism to their own advantage, crushing all of Mariah's bones with their combined weight until she passes out and relinquishes her power. Meanwhile, another Stand user, Alessi, sets his sights on Jotaro, Polnareff, and Iggy.

Hunter x Hunter: The Chimera Ant Arc EP#90 - Interest × And × Curse (Subtitled): The final duel between Gon and Knuckle begins. Just as he promised, Knuckle does not hold back and uses his special technique on him, forcing Gon to look for a way to defeat him as fast as possible. Meanwhile, Killua confronts Shoot, but he also gets himself in a pinch when his old habit to avoid stronger enemies is triggered.

Space Dandy EP#10 - There's Alway's Tomorrow, Baby (Subtitled): The crew of the Aloha Oe makes an emergency landing on Planet Betelgeuse, Meow's home planet. They are taken in by Meow's family for the time being while their spaceship is being repaired. That night, the calendar in Meow's house is struck by a wayward blast of Pyonium energy sparked from a battle between the Gogol and Jaicro Empires, causing the events of that day to endlessly repeat themselves in a time loop. On the 108th loop, the crew of the Aloha Oe finally realizes this, determining that they must tear out Meow's calendar to break the loop. The calendar proves virtually indestructible, so they turn to Meow's metalworker father for help, and he successfully rips off the date with his screw machine, breaking the loop. The crew of the Aloha Oe leave on the newly repaired spaceship, as Meow realizes how much he loves his home planet after reliving it countless times.

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG EP#20 (46) - IN: Confusion at the North End – FABRICATE FOG (Subtitled): Section 9 regroups from the firefight, and the body of their dead teammate is airlifted out of Dejima. Desperate for information on where Kuze's plutonium deal would go down, Aramaki pulls some strings and learns that the probable location for such an act would be Etorofu Island. Section 9 is dispatched to the island with the objective of stopping the deal while a request is formally made for a Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force security net to catch Kuze if he happens to evade capture. On the way to the island, Kusanagi explains that Kuze is very rapidly rising to power, and may eventually become a dictator of sorts if he is not stopped soon; she further explains that the refugees can see and feel what he experiences in real time, which helps him win them over. Upon arriving in Etorofu, Section 9 splits into three units. Batou, Saito, and two Tachikomas head to an abandoned Russian submarine base believed to be the site of the deal, Togusa and the Major go to see a man named Krolden who has helped Kusanagi in the past, and the rest of the team remains with the tiltrotor. Kusanagi discovers that Krolden has been killed by an attack barrier after diving and hacking into something he should not have seen, and when she calls up the records of his dive, she discovers a plan by the Russian mafia to sell plutonium to the refugees for 240 million yen. Kusanagi also uncovers evidence that the Cabinet Intelligence Agency may be pulling the strings behind the deal. Armed with this information, Section 9 sets out to stop the deal. Meanwhile, one of the refugees aboard the boat confronts Kuze over the death of Densetsu, a rapper who served as an inspirational figure to the refugees, at the hands of the Individual Eleven. The man intends to detonate a suicide bomb he has strapped to his body, which will kill Kuze and sink the ship, unless Kuze can explain the purpose for the refugees' trip to Russia. Kuze explains his plan, and ultimately wins over the young man, but when he leaves to conduct the plutonium deal, his group of refugees become involved in a three-way firefight with two SDA-issued armoured suits and Section 9's Tachikomas. Batou catches up to Kuze and the episode ends with him holding Kuze at gunpoint.
