the fact that cursed children can never truly escape the curse. the fact that both examples of 'survived' cursed children both isolate themselves and are described as unsettling by others. the fact that no matter what, they will still have the voice telling them that they are responsible for the horrible things that happen. that they are tainted and dirty. the fact that most cursed children don't even get to know that none of those things were true before they died. the fact that those children died thinking the world was better off without them.

“I have a favor to ask.”

Buck looked up in surprise. He’d been studying the menu, trying to distract himself from the sinfully beautiful man sitting across from him. But he couldn’t resist locking eyes with him, immediately feeling lost in Tommy’s gaze. Before he got too lost, he at least had the wherewithal to mumble an affirmative “hmm?”

“I booked a trip for this weekend, but I just found out it includes all this extra stuff I won’t be able to enjoy on my own. And I’d hate to miss out on the experience. I booked it months and months ago, before we — before I — well. Anyway. Would you want to go with me? It’s all inclusive, you wouldn’t have to pay for a thing. And, Evan, I know it’s last minute, so no worries at all if you can’t make it. I just thought, things have been going so well…” Tommy trailed off, looking down at his own menu. He seemed almost shy, and Buck couldn’t help but feel incredibly fond of Tommy.

Tommy, who was his friend. Who he was just friends with. Who he was on a friendly outing with, to the new Thai restaurant that Hen and Karen had been raving about the last time he saw them. He had decided to take his friend Tommy there. As friends. Because they’re friends. And this was just Tommy returning the favor, right? Sure, a weekend getaway was slightly less platonic than a dinner, but it could still be totally platonic. Friends go on trips together all the time.

Buck, ever the good friend, barely hesitated to cut in, “I’d love to, Tommy.”

Tommy smiled nervously and said, “yeah?” Buck was immediately flooded with the memory of Tommy reacting the same way when Buck admitted he wanted to get to know him. And Buck responded with a simple, “Yeah, of course.”

Tommy rewarded him with his crinkliest smile, and his gaze turned impossibly fond. Buck thoughtlessly started to follow the line of his throat down to the smattering of chest hair that was peeking out of Tommy’s shirt, that was maybe unbuttoned one too many buttons for a friendly dinner between friends, but maybe Tommy was planning to go out after they finished eating and let someone else unbutton the rest. The thought hit Buck like a bucket of cold water, and his gaze jumped back to his own menu. He vowed to keep his thoughts about his friend totally platonic for the entire trip, and save any jealous spiral for after.

Then Tommy started rambling, clearly excited, “This is going to be so great! I’ve always wanted to go there with someone, but I’ve never had the chance. I promise lots of good food and drink, and maybe we could even go dancing! There’s this place down the road that usually has live music and—“ And Buck zoned out, realizing just how screwed he was. And not even the good kind of screwed! Because they’re friends. Just friends.

bringing this back since i’ve been on tumblr for a month and i’m starting school in 2 days hahahahaha (slightly excited but also dreading the return)

anyway, small ramble ↓

i love tumblr’s tagging system so much omfg. My experience on here has been much better compared to other platforms. Before tumblr, i’ve mainly been using twitter (been using it for 3-4 years i think) but that's gone to shit. I only rarely open it to keep up with some artists who are still on there. And its algo kinda sucks. Just shoves whatever viral thing is happening on your dashboard bleh.

I never really got into Instagram. Or Facebook, for that matter. I'm not touching facebook at all...

Heard bluesky is ok so maybe ill go on it at some point?

But honestly, just having one or two social media to mainly use is good enough for me right now

Ok hear me out: Narilamb but they're both aroace and in a qpr.

I've been rolling around in my head for like a long long time this idea that Narinder and Lambert could both be aroace and (after like. A couple of centuries or so) end up in this like very comfortable very close relationship that neither of them define as anything specific other than calling it a "companionship". But on the other hand most of the cult thinks that they're dating in secret or something despite the fact that both of them have said they don't take lovers, because they are clearly very tight but maybe not super openly so, so maybe the cultists thing they're being secretive and hiding something or something like that. Idk but my aroace brain loves thinking about extremely close (mostly) platonic relationships and for some reason my brain decided hmm. I'm going to take this and throw it at Narilamb and see how I like it.

So then I decided to make a ridiculous joke comic about Narinder asking Lambert's hand in marriage specifically because he wants to get out of paying taxes. Because like, I know that spouse followers do actually still have to pay taxes in the actual game but. Hey Narinder and Lambert have presumably never married so they probably don't know that...? Honestly the only reason I made this was because the concept tickled me and I spent too much time on this for no one to see it, so. This comic and all it's absolute ridiculousness be upon ye.

While there's a tiny part of me that's been thinking about making this into an AU (which I'd probably call something like the "Strictly Platonic AU" or something), I know for a fact that I would blatantly not do anything legitimate with it so. It's an unofficial AU I guess?? But. Anyways. I thought this would be funny. Enjoy my ramblings and I hope you enjoy this thing that I spent. Actual time on. Lol

i know shit about wind waker and even less about fishing but PLEASE. takes your hand. we can't keep believing wind when he presents his hyrule as the idyllic seafarer's paradise. he doesn't know the DIFFERENCE. he's a child of the apocalypse just as much as any of time's successors he;s the heir to a kingdom of ruins!!!! there's no fish in his oceans. there's no life in his seas. his zora evolved into birds to get away from the water. does that not tell you something. the fishpeople learnt to fly. the population of the great sea is so SMALL and yet the fishermen still risk their lives searching for enough meat to feed their families because, as ganondorf says, "they are vast seas... they yield no fish to catch." nobody in the game ever gives link a fishing rod. NO FISHING ROD. in the OCEAN BASED ZELDA GAME. no fish motifs in the architecture no swimming for long periods no diving. wind has been born into a world that is unnaturally barren, and it's all but invisible unless you're trying to actually survive there, because the raw power of ocean remains. the tides rise and fall. the moon shines and the islands are peaceful and everything is dead. wind's timeline & the downfall timeline have a lot more in common than you might think. can you imagine the chain travelling to an ocean in another time and wind thinking he knows what an ocean is like. and he doesn't. these new strange oceans are full of fish, and coral, and strange creatures he's never heard of, turtles and dolphins and whales and seals and jellyfish. sharks and eels and stingrays and yabbies and clams and rockpools full of starfish and crabs and octopi. and this is what the ocean is supposed to be like?? hes a CHILD OF THE APOCALYPSE!!!!!! i want someone to take the awestruck wonder people give the downfall boys about fruit-bearing trees and shove it at wind
