summary: your favorite activity during the holiday season is to go look at the holiday lights. thankfully, Logan knows just what to do.

The holiday season can truly be a fun but overwhelming time for people with how much they can do. From ice skating to s’mores making and even movie marathons. Some people prefer to shop or explore. Your favorite part of the holiday season was the light shows. It was the least overwhelming thing. Being able to just go around and look at all the beautiful lights and see how people decorate. Especially light shows.

Like last year when you went to the Jones Beach light show in New York. You were visiting friends and you all had decided at the last minute to go see the light show. The five of you packed into the car and headed down to the beach, getting a bit lost but eventually found the line of cars and booths to pay, which you all laughed about because it was right there how you guys missed it, you don’t know. You pay per vehicle and slowly drive through seeing all the different designs. Some highlights you saw last year were Barbie, dinosaurs, Santa, and some animals through your drive.

Then halfway through you can stop and get out for the rest room and to see the snack area. They have popcorn, hot chocolate, churros, water and more. They have tables and thankfully it’s indoors so it’s warm. Outside they have a makeshift ice rink along with some bonfire stations for s’mores and a giant Christmas tree to take pictures which you and your friends took advantage of. Then you guys hopped back into the car, the sunroof opened (cause your friend insisted on sticking his head out like a dog) before it was over and you guys went off to Applebees for half apps and drinks.

It was a great night. You hope you can do it again sometime.

“Babe!”

“Coming!”

You finish applying your mascara and come downstairs. Logan is standing by the front door and breaks into a grin as you come over. Wrapping his arms around you, he gives you a quick kiss. “Ready to go?”

“Yep!”

“Do you have everything?”

Opening your bag you go through your checklist. “Phone, wallet, keys, portable charger, headphones and gum and since you won’t tell me where we’re going,” you tease, “I think I have everything for tonight.”

“I don’t think so. I think you’re forgetting this.” Logan holds up your coat and you laugh as you put it on. “Now we’re ready.” Pulling back, Logan takes your hand and leads you out.

The car ride is delightful. You get to control the aux and you switch between singing and yapping poor Logan’s ear off as he drives. Logan tells you to close your eyes about five minutes away from the surprise. You do and even cover your eyes with your hands as you start asking questions about the surprise. Logan just laughs and tells you that you’ll find out soon enough.

You keep your eyes covered when the car parks and Logan comes over to help you out of the car. You let Logan gently guide you as you can make out other people talking. It feels like forever when you two finally stop. “Okay,” Logan says, “open your eyes.”

You open your eyes and blinks to adjust for the change of lighting. You gasp softly seeing all the lights around St. Augustine that you can see while standing at the Bay front near Castillo De San Marcos. You turn to Logan, eyes wide in awe. “Logan.” You start, at a loss for words.

“Surprise!” Logan grins.

“Oh Logan, this is wonderful!” You start, “though why are we kind of far?”

“Well, that’s why.” Logan gestures to the red carriage coming forward. The carriage stops in front of you two and Logan quickly talks to the driver to confirm the carriage for them before he climbs in and offers his hand to you before pulling you up. You immediately sit, cuddling up to Logan’s side as you take in the carriage and notice the flowers decorating the back before the carriage starts with a slight jerk as you cuddle in a bit closer.

The carriage was a 30 minute ride. The carriage didn’t go over bridges and really focused on downtown but it gave you two the best view of the lights around St. Augustine. You happily ramble softly to Logan as you take in the sights of the lights. You glance at Logan from time to time, when he points out lights that you missed or any cute dogs he’s spotted on the tour, or just listens to you ramble with the warmest smile.

When the two of you arrive back at the Bayfront Logan helps you out of the carriage before tipping the driver. You wait for Logan before smiling as he takes your hand and starts leading you back towards the lights. “Oh Logan, this is amazing,” you gush as you lean into your boyfriend’s side, smiling up at him.

“Good! I’m glad you enjoyed it.” Logan kisses his forehead, “now come on, we have to snag some photos. I think I improved on my boyfriend's duty of taking photos.”

“You really want to make up for your horrible Thanksgiving post, don’t you?”

“Noooooo…” Logan glances at you and smiles sheepishly, “maybe.”

You can’t help but laugh and steal a kiss from Logan, “you’re so cute and you’re lucky I am feeling such festive joy that we can go take photos.”

Logan grins, “perfect.”

“It won’t do to have you so far from me,” Jonathan rebukes as he angles you through a new doorway. The vague scent of sandalwood tinges the are, “so I should have you close.”

He sets you on the bed, larger than your previous one, as you groan and reach to the strap of your sling. Your shoulder is at battle with your hip as to which can cause more agony. On that front, this man wins all. He has sparked in you a pain much deeper than the physical.

“Dear,” he brushes his fingertips over your forehead, “you are due for more painkillers. Perhaps tea and something to eat. You won’t do well to keep taking the pills on an empty stomach.”

You whimper as you try to shift yourself, your back at an awkward angle against the single pillow. He’s quick to bend over you once more, dragging over another pillow and adjusting you just so. You stop your squirming and relent to his control. You turn your face away as tears glisten along the rims of your eyes.

“You will be better, darling, but you need to relax. Let me take care of you,” he caresses your cheek, “did you ever have a man to do so?”

You bite back a retort. You wouldn’t need him if he hadn’t sabotaged you. You didn’t need any man before him, you’d shed the dead weight of your ex-husband happily. It’s only now, trapped with another, that you realise what a relief that had been.

“I understand, the pain overwhelms you,” he leans in to kiss your forehead, “let me fetch you your medicine.”

He struts away. You peek at his departure, seeing his lithe steps and well-forged shoulders strut away. He’s a finely built man, handsome, but something sinister makes him hideous. You knew from the moment you met him, he was too good to be true. As anything ever is.

You turn your head left then right. You take in the strange space. The decor is just as precise and refined as the rest of the house. You prefer the simplicity of your apartment. That morsel of security you’d built there. All the pretty things in the world couldn’t make this bearable.

A light catches your eye, the subtle buzz of vibration. You see your phone case, magenta with a plum trim, on the sleek white dresser. Your lip trembles as you tense. You pause and listen to the house through the open door.

You’re not entirely helpless. You won’t surrender this easily. You take several breaths, bracing yourself for the effort of rolling onto your side. You use the momentum to get your feet to the floor and lean on the nightstand to gain your balance.

Your leg buckles but you don’t fall. You grip your side and hobble a single step, swaying, collecting yourself before the next. Your heart beats faster and faster as your progress across the room is slow and faltering. You don’t have much time.

You nearly collapse against the dresser. You barely keep it from clattering against the wall loudly, the jewellery tray and lamp wobbling but not turning over. You pick up your phone and swipe up the screen. The lock’s been removed. Shit.

The notification is a system reminder to put unused apps to sleep. You swipe it away and tap onto your contacts. Andy’s number is gone and every message he spammed in the hours before your desolation. Good riddance.

Your mom’s number scrolls under your thumb. You haven’t seen her since the family Christmas before your divorce. She wasn’t happy about it. Somehow she took the dissolution of your marriage personally.

You don’t need friends, you just need the police. You bring up the keypad and a red icon blinks back at you. No sim. Your pulse thrums in your throat and temples. You’re fucked.

Your legs fold and you slip onto the floor. You’re once more helpless on your back, like a turtle in its shell. You clutch the gutted phone in your hand and stare at the ceiling. You hear his approach, the soft rattle of porcelain and pills.

“Oh, my,” Jonathan enters and there’s a clink as he sets down the tray in his hands.

You watch him numbly as he comes to you. First, he takes the phone and places it back on the dresser. Then he scoops you up and brings you back to the bed. He’s careful to pull the covers to your waist this time. He lingers to run his hands over your hair and straighten the shirt on your shoulders.

“I’ve made certain you won’t be disturbed in your recovery. Myself as well. I’ve spoken with the store manager and he will keep me updated with any urgent issues.” He parts and retrieves the tray, coming back to rest it on the nightstand. “You will have my undivided care.”

You cringe and let your vision blur. He takes the bowl from the tray and cradles it over his lap, stirring with the spoon.

“Soup, it should be light on your stomach,” he explains, “you do need to eat. You wouldn’t want to add to your troubles.”

You blink and say nothing. He sighs but doesn’t reproach you. That noise is reprimand enough. He raises the spoon before your lips and you open your mouth. You look above you, avoiding a glance in his direction. You let him feed you, wanting it to just be over.

There’s a dribble along your lip. He tuts and sets the spoon back in the bowl. He brings his thumb up to wipe away the soup from your lower lip, his touch creeping up as he dips inside your mouth. Your eyes widen and meet his as he delves further in, turning his hand to push your mouth snug around him.

“I know you’re not used to someone taking care of you. That you never had anyone who wanted to,” he says as he drags his finger back out, curling his fingers to brush his knuckles along your cheek, “it’s what you’ve always wanted. What you need.”

He retracts his hand and scoops up more of the soup, “it’d be easier if you just admitted it. Darling,” he brings the spoon to your mouth again, “if only you knew all the things I would do for you.”

remrom trick or treat!!!

So as my first trick or treater, you get a treat! I got a little carried away and hope you enjoy!

Remus was mad. Ok, he was just irritated, stuck in traffic and going to be late for his and Roman's weekly Halloween movie marathon. He was helping Janus and Patton move into their new apartment across town and he was oh so excited for them especially since they were the last pair of the couples to be living together, Virgil and Logan had been living together for 2 years, and Roman and him never lived apart. 

Although it was just his luck there was a minor car cash a little before he left. So, while sadly everything had been cleaned up, (sue him, he wanted to see the damage and maybe gore as payment for making him late), it resulted in an almost 45 minute delay to the normal afternoon traffic. He had already texted Roman, who replied that he'd wait to order the pizza and would continue to work on his plays. 

Remus' thinks back on how the tradition had started. They both loved Halloween growing up although for different reasons and their parents would allow one movie on weekend nights but that's not how this tradition started. This one started in college, even though they went to the same one and had similar majors that first semester their schedules hadn't aligned. They had already been a couple publicly, hence the moving across the country to go to college and both working jobs plus applying to any scholarship they could. 

So, by October, they just missed each other and decided to pick a day that week to bring back some happy childhood feelings. The perfect way was watch Halloween movies(at least one scary/gorey and one Disney) while bingeing on pizza and Halloween themes cookies cuddled up on the couch. This turned into a weekly thing that month which they continued every year in October. Logan and Janus had both asked why just that month each saying a different answer with Remus getting weirder each time knowing that the other wouldn't reveal the real reason that October was when a lot of their first happened usually cuddle together in a blanket on the couch with a movie in the background. 

With that last happy…explicit…thought Remus finds himself pulling into the driveway. Walking to the door purple and orange light is cast on him, Roman and he went all out on the decorations(Remus gets Halloween decoration control and Roman gets Christmas). 

Roman opens the front door dressed in purple with candy corn pj pants

"Oh, you're not the pizza man," he says smiling while shutting the door before Remus can get inside.

"Rude, I just had to sit in hours of traffic, least you could do is slam the door on me." Remus deadpans as he comes inside. "So how long till the pizza gets here?"

"Should be here in the next few minutes, according to the app" Roman responds.

"Perfect, I'm going to go change," Remus says walking past the living room noting that everything has been set up including their king size soft black blanket covered in bloody bats(an anniversary gift). 

While changing into his white with bloody hand prints pj pants, which he made himself, he hears Roman paying for the pizza. 

Coming back to the living room Roman has the pizza set out. 

"Have I mentioned that I love you?" Remus asks kissing Roman.

"Almost every day and I love you too but I am picking the first movie as an apology for you being late," Roman responds grabbing the remote

"You've picked the first movie since we were kids," Remus replies laughing cuddling up against Roman

"You're right. Now let's enjoy the movie," Roman presses start and This Is Halloween can be heard.

Troy Tempest the Captain of Stingray, ex-Captain Bradley Holden and ex-WASP oceanographer Gordon Tracy were drank in the corner of the Pub.

“You should be very grateful to Phones.”

Brad, who was drunk and a bit preachy, turned his attention to Troy.

Troy shrugged and looked Gordon as he asked help him.

“Certainly, it's probably thanks to him that those lovely ladies didn’t get mad at you.”

Gordon smiled mischievously.

“Come on , you guys are sooo merciless for me.”

Troy gestured as he surrendered to them, and reached for the fried fish.

“Haha, I gonna get water.”

Gordon got off the chair.

“Hey, I still not drank so much.”

Brad laughed cheerfully.

-Meanwhile in the control tower…

“achoo…hey, anybody taking about me?”

Phones sneezed, and Sub-Lieutenant Fisher who was playing chess by himself, jumped his shoulders in shock.

“Bless you.”

“Thanks.”

“I hope that person is not Titan.”

Fisher said, and he looked back to chess board.

“Yeah…I don‘t wanna see they found a rockabilly band and held the countdown concert in here.”

Phones sighed.

“Christmas is almost here.”

Gordon smiled happily.

They got off the pub and walking to Residential area. As they approached there, Christmas lights were decorated everywhere.

“By the way, does Spectrum also celebrate Christmas?”

Nobody knows Brad joined Spectrum, except few people including Troy and Gordon.

“Nah…our boss is very strict man. I will work that day, and hope I could eat Christmas cake.”

-Actually, Colonel White got angry because of troublesome guys in his organization including Brad aka Captain grey. But this is another story-

“Gordon, will you spent Christmas holiday with your families?”

Troy asked.

“Yes, I‘m looking forward to our family get together.”

“That‘s good! I hope you will enjoy. ”

“Thank you.”

“I hope The Aquaphibians will enjoying Christmas under the sea and we will spent peacefully this holiday.”

When Troy said that, Brad and Gordon smiled, because they remembered Troy‘s episode about he and Barry Byrne.

Captain Magenta came into the room just a little faster, it looks like he is an impatient man.

“Hi! Captain grey went our old workplace and he drank with friends after his job.”

“That’s too bad. However, I will in trouble if both of you get out of here, because you guys are relatively sane in this organization…”

The impatient Irishman scanned his ID, logged into the control room computer, and set up various apps 1.5 times faster than he could speak.

“You forgot Captain Ochre.”

“WHAT?”

Magenta opened his eyes and shook his head, as if to tell Green not to say that stupid thing.

“What's so sane about the craziest Guy in this organization? and I should educate him with Captain Scarlet‘s Opening Sequence.”

“What are you talking about?”

“No, forget it.”

Magenta looks cursing about Ochre, but Green smiled and took over the business because in fact, he understood Magenta trusts him and Ochre.

“You are going to off-duty aren‘t you.”

“Yes.”

“So you should go to the dining hall and you will found something you like.”

Monkey D. Luffy x gn!Reader

December 11th 2023 Words: 994 CW: modern AU, SFW, fluff, food, food fight, no seriously it’s just funny

You've been sharing an apartment with Sabo, Ace and Luffy for a few months now and you like it. And even though Sabo is always on the road because of his job and Ace stays with his partner most of the time, it's never been boring since you had Luffy. But there were days when the urge to throw him through a window was immense.

Life with the ASL brothers is great if you stick to one rule: Never mention food to Luffy unless you want to feed him, and feed him now. You were talking to your best friend on speaker about Christmas preparations while doing laundry. You didn't realize your roommate came home while you were talking about cookies and a gingerbread house your friend was going to bake. At least not until you heard an excited cry from the front door.

"GINGERBREAD HOUSE?!" You end the conversation just in time as Luffy lunges himself at you, smiling brightly. "Oh yes, let's build a gingerbread house!" His eyes sparkle with joy. You could never say 'no' to those big puppy eyes. Never refuse a request when he was so excited.

You sighed. "Okay, fine. We'll build one tomorrow, okay?"

"But why not right now?" Luffy nearly drooled on your shoulder.

"Because I have to go to the supermarket first." The sparkle in his eyes seemed to fade and you felt bad... "But how about ordering food from your favorite delivery guy tonight?"

"Yay, I can't wait!" Luffy jumped off of you and opened the delivery app as you sighed. You were glad that you had at least saved the day and made a list for tomorrow. You had a bad feeling, but it couldn't be that bad, right? This is Luffy we're talking about, so everything will be fine in the end, so you pushed your worries aside and enjoyed a nice evening on the couch with fast food and a happy roommate.

The next day, you were lucky enough to find Luffy meeting his friends for breakfast, so you were able to start preparing. After successfully gathering the ingredients and kneading them into a fairly stiff dough, you rolled it out to the right thickness and cut out the pieces you needed. You had prepared four wall sections and two roof sections. With the remaining dough, you cut out trees and stars. You baked everything and cut it again to get sharp edges before you let it cool completely and concentrated on decorating. You collected all the sprinkles, nuts, almonds, and candy you could find and then made a nice icing to glue everything together. When everything was ready, you took a moment to yourself and waited for Luffy.

Your moment didn't last long because Luffy seems to have a sixth sense when it comes to food. He announced his return loudly and stormed into the kitchen. You giggled and went into the kitchen yourself.

"Hey Luffy. I've got everything ready, so we can start right away," you said excitedly.

Luffy looked at everything you had prepared on the counter and his eyes sparkled. "Can I have a taste?"

"No." You slapped his fingers back from the gingerbread. "Just wash your hands and we can start."

He pouted, but walked over to the sink to wash his hands.

"You can have the leftovers when we're done, okay?" You sighed and made him an offer.

His pout immediately turned into a smile and you could start decorating the sections.

You were impressed how well Luffy could control himself. He didn't even nibble at the decorations. You had finished most of the house and decorations when the icing got stuck in the piping bag. You squeezed harder, but it didn't work, so you held the bag higher and checked the nozzle. Big mistake. When you were eye-to-eye with the nozzle, Luffy decided to squeeze the bag hard, and within a second, the nozzle separated from the bag and hit you in the eye. The icing splattered everywhere, on your face, on Luffy's shirt, all over the counter...

As if that wasn't enough, the door opened to reveal Sabo coming home from work. Your eye began to twitch with annoyance... How much bad luck can you have in one moment... Luffy threw his hands in the air and let go of the piping bag to lunge at his brother. Sabo just giggled and hugged him, even though his clothes were now covered in icing as well.

"I see we have a new roommate." Sabo joked as he looked at you.

You stared at him, wiping the sticky sweet goo from your eyes. Sabo was still laughing and hugging Luffy when you suddenly appeared right next to him. His reflexes were good, but not good enough, and a second later you were rubbing your face against his to share the icing. The whole thing escalated quickly, and after a decent icing fight, the three of you sat exhausted on the floor while Luffy licked the sweet, sticky stuff off Sabo's and your hands. You were all a little happy when you realized that the gingerbread house was on the floor. Your smile turned to a frown, and Luffy let out a small cry when he realized what you were picking up. His eyes filled with tears that threatened to overflow.

"Luffy... I'm sorry... We'll make a new one..." You were doing your best when Sabo interrupted you.

"We'll make it a tree house. Just like the one we used to have when we were kids! And you can make the flag, okay?"

Luffy's tears were gone in an instant, and he started gathering things for the flag. Sabo and you salvaged what you could from the broken gingerbread house, and you built a tree house according to Sabo's instructions. All three of you stood proudly around the counter as Luffy placed the flag on top and put on his trademark smile.

"This is the best gingerbread house we ever made." He said proudly.

"Let me just take a picture." You pulled out your phone when you heard crunching noises.

"Luffy! No!" Sabo and you shouted in unison, but it was too late. Luffy had already devoured the whole gingerbread house.

He looked at you with an innocent expression. "What? I was hungry from all the work and the icing battle..."
