Three Men Sentenced To Death In Saudi Arabia For Resisting "Displacements" In Neom Project.
Three men have been sentenced to death in Saudi Arabia for resisting "displacements" in Neom project site by Saudi Arabia’s Specialised Criminal Court (SCC), according to a report by ALQST, an independent human rights organization.
The organization reported that the three men, Shadli al-Huwaiti, Ibrahim al-Huwaiti and Ataullah al-Huwaiti, had been sentenced to death on October 2 after being "forcibly evicted and displaced to make way for the Neom mega project".
The $500 billion Neom mega project is currently under construction in the Tabuk Province of northwestern Saudi Arabia.
The three men were convicted on 2 October by Saudi Arabia’s Specialised Criminal Court for organizing against the forced eviction program of the local people who criticized the $500 billion Neom mega project and came into force to pave the way for its construction.
According to ALQST, "even before the April 2020 killing of Abdul Rahim al-Huwaiti, other members of the Huwaitat tribe had been arrested for refusing to be evicted from their homes, and others have been arrested since."
"Some have been sentenced to extraordinary prison terms: Abdullah and Abdulilah al-Huwaiti were each sentenced in August 2022 to 50 years," said ALQST.
The three men are members of the Huwaitat tribe, a tribe has largely given up nomadic lifestyle and live in villages.
"These shocking sentences once again show the Saudi authorities' callous disregard for human rights, and the cruel measures they are prepared to take to punish members of the Huwaitat tribe for legitimately protesting against forced eviction from their homes," said ALQST's Head of Events Abdullah Aljuraywi.
The organization reported that Ibrahim al-Huwaiti, one of the members of the group, was one of the local residents' delegation in Tabuk province that met with Saudi government officials in 2020 to secure the Neom land.
Ataullah al-Huwaiti's conviction is also reported to be the reason of being seen "in several videos talking about the misery his family and all the other displaced residents were facing as a result of the decision to evict them".
Repotedly, "Shadli al-Huwaiti is the brother of Abdul Rahim al-Huwaiti, shot dead by security forces in April 2020 in his home in Al-Khariba," the group added.
"ALQST categorically rejects the death sentences"
"What these examples all demonstrate are the arbitrary and despotic methods by which the Saudi authorities pursue their plans, with no respect for people’s rights to decent housing, and without those who wish to raise complaints having any recourse to justice. Not only are the authorities persisting in this course, but they are now going even further by sentencing to death those who object to their unjust decisions or complain about the consequences," said ALQST.
The group added that "ALQST categorically rejects the death sentences passed on Shadli, Ataullah and Ibrahim al-Huwaiti – and use of the death penalty in principle – as well as the lengthy prison sentences handed down earlier on Abdullah and Abdulilah, and it calls for pressure on the Saudi authorities to quash these unjust sentences."
"It also has grave fears concerning the increasingly harsh approach the Saudi authorities are taking toward members of the Huwaitat tribe detained for resisting eviction from their homes," added the group.
Saudi Arabia builds 170-kilometre-long mirrored skyscraper: The Line
A 100-mile-long (170-kilometre) linear city, known as The Line, is being built as part of Neom project in the Tabuk Province of northwestern Saudi Arabia which will incorporate smart technologies.
Alongside The Line proejct, another mega project, called Trojena, offers a series of facilities designed by world-renowned architects, including Zaha Hadid Architects, UNStudio, German architecture firm LAVA, global architecture firm Aedas, Australian architecture studio Bureau Proberts.
Currently, Saudi Arabian artist and photography company Ot Sky revealed a drone video from the construction of The Line.

Serbia’s Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Goran Vesic, has signed a contract with Affinity Global Development’s director Asher Abehsera on revitalizing the former Army General Headquarters in Belgrade, demolished by the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia in 1999.
Affinity Partners is Jared Kushner, former US president Donald Trump’s son-in-law’s, investment firm. It has $2 billion in funding from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, among other foreign investors, media have reported.
“We are very excited,” the New York Times reported Kushner as saying in an interview in March about planned projects in Belgrade and Albania. “We have not finalized these deals, so they might not happen, but we have been working hard and are pretty close.”
The former military HQ is in the Belgrade city centre, right across from the gvernment building.
According to the ministry press release, Vesic said the government had leased the premises for 99 years but did not specify at what price.
“The investor has assumed the obligation that, if he does not complete the investment within the period specified in the contract, he will return the land and what will be built until then to the Republic of Serbia without compensation,” Vesic said after signing the deal on Wednesday*.
The press release said the investor will also be obliged to build a memorial complex “dedicated to all the victims of NATO aggression” from 1999 on the plot.
“The memorial complex will be financed by investors and will be owned by the Republic of Serbia, which will decide on the program content of the complex and will manage it,” Vesic said.
The design of the memorial complex will be determined at an international architectural competition.
Abehsera said the project includes a unique aspect of cooperation in which Serbian architects and designers will be invited to submit their ideas for the Memorial Centre.
Kushner previously confirmed plans on X (former Twitter) to invest in this complex as well as in two locations on the Albanian coast. The samer New York Times report in March said that Kushner been working on the Balkan deals with Richard Grenell, who served briefly as acting director of national intelligence under Trump and also ambassador to Germany and special envoy to the Balkans.
According to the NYT, the investment in Belgrade will be a luxury hotel and 1,500 residential units and a museum. It also reported that Trump himself had showed interest in working with this complex in 2013, but Kushner claimed he did not know about this.
The former Yugoslav army HQ was severely damaged in two 1999 NATO air attacks, beween April 29 and 30 and between May 7 and 8. Part of the premises were demolished between 2014 and 2017 for security reasons.
Information that a US company will take over the demolished HQ was first revealed by the Serbian opposition in March, drawing criticism because of suspicions of corruption but also because of the damaged HQ’s architectural and cultural value. It was claimed that the land on which the HQ lies was being leased free of charge.
The building was constructed in 1965 and designed by the famous Serbian architect Nikola Dobrovic.

Taurus and Cancer are so compatible that they feel like soulmates.
These two are affectionate and nurturing and share many of the same values and interests.
As a water sign, Cancer flows naturally into the earth sign Taurus, to make one of the "strongest matches" in the zodiac.
6/My opinion on Rajwa:
I don't give myself the right to talk about her since I don't know her in person but I think 'judging by the pictures I've seen of her' that:
She is an extrovert and a chill person.
She is very sociable and well liked by her friends.
She is friendly and enthusiastic.
She is a free spirit ✨ and open to try new things.
She is carefree
I like her style, her shiny sneakers at her graduation, her messy half up bun hairstyle at work , her accessories , her dark nail colors and specially the way she wears her caps "backwards" 😂
Say what you want about Rajwa, but one thing 's for sure she is not your usual Princess....xD

UAC presents Su-75 Checkmate aircraft with a modified front
Fernando Valduga By Fernando Valduga 02/10/2024 - 11:38am Military
At the World Defense Show 2024, which took place from February 4 to 8 in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, United Aircraft Corporation presented an updated model of the light tactical aircraft Checkmate (Su-75). The project of a fifth-generation single-seater fighter is being developed at the Sukhoi Design Bureau.
The aircraft prototype was first demonstrated in July 2021 at the MAKS air show. The UAC states that the aircraft has undergone some changes and draws attention to the air intake.
Tumblr media
On the left the Su-75 presented at MAKS 2021 and on the right the model presented this week in Saudi Arabia. (Photo montage: Cavok)
The air inlet of the Su-75 is located under the fuselage. In the 2021 version of the project, it is divided into two channels and its bottom corner protrudes slightly in the direction of flight. In the model that the UAC brought to Riyadh, there is no such division, there is only one air channel without bulkhead in the inlet flow and the bottom of the air inlet is straight.
The configuration of the tail booms and the control surfaces with which they end have also changed, and the sing has also changed: the area of the flaperons has been significantly increased. Below are two videos with the details of the model presented in Saudi Arabia.
The Su-75 may become a platform for the joint development of an aircraft with partners from Arab countries, said Alexandra Mikheeva, general director of Rosoboronexport in Riyadh. "This open architecture aircraft is today the most relevant product for the construction of joint development projects of promising aviation systems in the Middle East region," he said.
He said that the design of Checkmate already includes the possibility of creating complexes from it with adaptation to solve various problems. Among other things, the concept of the Su-75 provides for the creation of an unmanned aircraft based on it.

Unmanned model of the Su-75.
The Su-75 Checkmate is positioned by the Sukhoi Design Bureau as a universal modular platform that allows you to radically change the functionality of the entire aviation complex, while maintaining the same capabilities of its base. The concept proposed by the designers involves the use of part of the aircraft fuselage as a basis for the creation of aircraft of various modifications, which are achieved by replacing the most loaded part of the on-board equipment - the front of the fuselage. The invention of the Sukhoi Design Bureau is protected by patent RU 2807558.
