So, me and the bestie @pinkhankie were chatting over Discord and decided to make a couple of silly ocs for fun, and I happened to be creator of this little Biospark loser: Beo. The other two are simply Waddle Doo and Armoria, by the previously mentioned person. Check him out!!!!!!!

Anyways, these three are a bunch of teenage besties who decided to form a rag-tag hero group consisting of a hyper orb, an exceedingly clumsy ninja in training, and a gullible robot who can't read. Surely nothing can go wrong?

STS fun: Generators for making coats of arms (plus a couple other generator mentions). Anyone have any to add? What are your favorite generators for worldbuilding?

This is the coat of arms for the Stewards of the Swords, the anti-eldritch bodyguards of the king and his family in our WIP audio drama, Songs of Decay. It's cool cuz the Steward represented there in the middle keeps the Swords (the king's family members) from being corrupted by eldritch influences and turning on the Crown. Read more about the Stewards here.

We used Armoria to generate and customize the coat of arms above.

Armoria actually connects to Azgaar's fantasy map generator! If you generate a map and click on a city, it will show you that city's emblem.

Similarly, you can also click on a city to edit its layout in City Generator by Watabou, a medieval fantasy city generator. All three of these resources are pretty dang awesome, and I love that they all work together!

This is the crest of the Haldane royal family of Imeuiad from our fantasy WIP, Outcasts.

We also use Draw Shield. Draw Shield even has resources on their website to learn about heraldry and related vocabulary. I loooove that it types up the term for each feature you add to the shield, so you can learn blazonry ("the art of describing or painting heraldic devices or armorial bearings") as you go!

Here are the emblems of the countries in my homebrew world, Nuria! I made these on a maker named Armoria, and I had lots of fun thinking what emblematic things represented the nations!

From left to right, top to bottom: Gluth, Gathiz, Devri, Dawn, Storm and Leronia.

The world is like earth, this is just like the northern hemisphere as a lot of the couthern is wildlands and dense forest after it was cursed by the predominant deity in the setting to be uninhabitable after the majority of the southern hemisphere started to rebel against the theocracies there. Peace is very very delicate in Nuria; not amongst man, most nations get on or are friendly rivals at present, (partly to keep things easier when the Gods are so angry,) but rather between the Deities and man. It's not wholly uncommon for, idk, Dave the blacksmith to disappear conveniently because someone overheard him blaspheme once too many times. Peace needs to be upheld in most nations at ANY cost because no one wants the same thing to happen to them as happened in the south.

This is the 'starting city' as it were, a huge city-state in the country of Storm! Storm is based onj old Viking culture and customs, only the country reaches from the very north to equator level so it's not ENTIRELY viking accurate, just a flavour kinda thing.

And this is the 'overworld' map of the section of Storm and surrounding bits. I do have a whole northern hemisphere map ready for exploration though! :D

I got bored and made a coat of arms for my favorite Fire Emblem: Three Houses character, Ashe Ubert! I used Armoria to create this. If you're interested in the nerdy nitty-gritty, click "read more" to see the full explanation of the symbols.

If you clicked to read more, I regret to inform you that you are, unfortunately, a nerd.

The first thing I'd like to address is the Crest of Lonato, which is in the upper left corner. I added this as a symbol of Ashe beating Lonato. This particular crest is based on the coat of arms for the actual city of Lonato del Garda, Italy. The real-life Italian flag features three fleur-de-lis on a blue field, a pair of crossed keys, and a lion. In my version, I made some variations:

Yellow Chief Area: The or [gold] chief area has a raguly line, showing that Lonato was in battle. This is also shown with the pair of red crosses. One of the three fleur-de-lis has been inverted and colored sable [black], alluding to Christophe.

White Fess Area: The argent [silver] fess is slightly lower than standard; I just thought it looked better. It is drawn cottised. The two blue fleur-de-lis are the last of the trio from the real life flag. The lion has been turned sinister, showing Lonato's betrayal.

Blue Field: The main field is azure [blue], and features crossed keys.

Anyhow, for Ashe's emblem, I used the Lonato crest in the corner, showing conquest. The golden border holds four etoilles, symbolizing radiance and faith. (Faith is also shown in the white cross ordinary). Green represents hope and love. The blue arrow is for Ashe's specialty, and the red crescent shows he's the second son of Lonato.
