Tim's parent's weren't abusive, they weren't neglectful, I think they just didn't know how to have a kid. Were they perfect parents? NO! But GOD DAMNIT THEY TRIED! You find out your billionaire next door neighbor is sending your kid out to find KILLER CLOWNS AND CROCODILES, PUTTING YOUR UNDERAGE SON IN BOOTY SHORTS AND ELF BOOTS TO GO FIGHT CRIME, AND YOU'RE NOT THE LEAST BIT CONCERNED??

Listen, they weren't perfect, but as someone with a busy mom, as someone who's had to go to boarding school, as someone who's had rocky relationships with their parents they've come back from, who's seen it with other boarding school (actually) rich kid friends, it's possible.

Tim Loved his parents, Tim loves his parents, Tim loves Bruce but Tim misses his dad, his mom, Dana. If you want to write fics where they're abusive? Fine, have at it, write what you want it's fan FICTION! But when you look at canon? What you have to know before writing anything? Tim loves his parents, he still does.
