finally feel like I'm at a point where I can share this idea!!! so @cookieg122 and I have been working on an AU for a few months now that's a pretty big departure from the Minecraft stuff we've been working on, as it's more of a fully-original concept instead ;o;

this story has a proper name, as well!! titled Codename: IRIS, the plot centers around a younger Khalan, who gets into gaming as a form of escape from his abusive home life and the stress of moving to a new country/big city. but he quickly finds out that the game console he was gifted actually houses a seemingly-sentient AI - of which he names Aya.

the two go on adventures through various video games to stop a different, malevolent AI that's threatening to corrupt the virtual world; all while utilizing futuristic VR technology to do so. but they also take breaks sometimes with more typical PC gaming and meet Antony along the way, who ends up being a sort of "guide" for Khalan (as the kid is pretty new to video games as a whole) :'0

unfortunately, the virtual threat does end up spreading to the real world as well, which pushes Khalan and Aya (who can move freely between the game console and his phone) to solve challenges within the city itself in a race against the clock to stop the threat - just as long as Khalan manages to get back home in time before his dad finds out;;

there's so much more to this story that I can't really cover in just a single post, but I felt like it was finally time to at least reveal the basics of this concept to y'all!! it's been a lot of fun to re-imagine these characters within a "real life" setting (taking place in an alternate version of Earth in the year 203X), though it's still very sci-fi at its core, lol.

“You’re sure about this?” 

“Are you really sure?” Aya whispered into the phone that she clutched for dear life; her voice was urgent, holding a note of excitement and hope. This was too soon. She was rushing. She shouldn’t let hope creep into her heart just yet, but she couldn’t help herself. Aya sat down at her desk and lifted the cover of the Mac computer that sat in the center of the area. There was a notepad beside the device with a pen—always ready to take notes in journalist fashion. “Jasper,” she said gratefully, “I know it’s late there. But just… explain the email to me, please?”

The sleepy voice of her friend came through the speaker, explaining the email as they both reviewed it in different cities, countries, time zones—but it felt as if he was there with her, pointing out each detail that she needed to know. “As you can see, Claire’s phone pings were nowhere close to Dax at the time she sent the voicemail. And unless he left his phone behind, he never left Los Angeles the days after her disappearance,” he explained in a gentle tone, trying to alleviate any worry that Aya was having without giving her false hope. 

“So Claire is in Phoenix, Arizona?” Aya whispered in a questionable tone. 

“Yes, I sent you the coordinates for her estimated location. Naturally, she may not be there now, but as of the second of this month, that’s where she was. There hasn’t been any data collected from her phone since then,” he said gently. 

Aya released a grateful sob, exhaling as she wrote the information down on the notepad. “Thank you, Jas. I can’t thank you enough… you’re the best. I owe you lots of fries.” Aya’s laughter echoed as the call ended and then she sat there accepting the information that she just received. Claire may be okay… Dax may not have done anything to her after all. A pang of guilt tried to ripple in Aya’s head at the thought of how distant she had been from Dax’s daughter since her sister’s disappearance. She swallowed hard, mentally reminding herself to make things right with her later. 

Now, the young woman was up and moving around the room, packing her things and preparing for the journey to Phoenix. “Siri, call Paolo on speaker,” she shouted at the phone that was still laying on her desk. A few moments passed and then she heard Paolo’s familiar voice welcoming the call. “Paolo, come get me. I think I know where Claire is.”

Hope was rising inside the young woman. She felt it climbing up her throat and she tried to keep it at bay… just in case.

Spoilers for bsd and Crime and punishment ahead.

Why I don't think Fyodor is all he seems? As we've seen before in bsd Fyodor always fakes or hides the true nature of his ability. What we know is his ability is called Crime and Punishment. The ‘crime’ seems to be killing him, whether it be indirect or not, as we saw with Bram. And the punishment being turning into a kind of version of himself, or like a data transfer. His ability seems to function on being a kind of data stacking on individuals and their minds. We can see that because of Bram's oath, Fyodor has the restriction of not hurting Aya. Which leads to the theory that he is just a bunch of personalities stacked on eachother. What if riding the world of abilities isn’t his goal, since chapter 120, and leaving Atsushi there.

What even is his goal or grand plan? Religious ideals or his ability wouldn’t be the full reason for his crimes. What if he wants to rid abilities because the ability we were shown so far isn’t his full ability. I've had two theories on his ability before it was released. What everyone considers to be his actual ability, the one i explained above. Or a form of reincarnation cycle. When we saw what sigma was seeing, all of Fyodor’s memories, were they actually his memories? Were they past selves or reincarnations? What if he did a heavenly crime and his punishment was to be forever reincarnated as a punishment, and that's why he was enjoying his game with Dazai so much, there was a thrill of dying if his ability is ACTUALLY an ability. Think about it.

As we have seen when sigma got stabbed by Fyodor, he seemed to “fake” a sort of personality disorder. What if he wasn’t faking it? What if that was him remembering one of his past reincarnations. What if when he dies it's not because he was murdered and takes over someone’s body, it's a punishment for a crime he did, like I’ve said before. So that’s why he seems to want to get rid of abilities all together. He sees them as a curse, like his is.

But wouldn’t he, knowing Atsushi is the bookmark, need Atsushi to complete his goal? Why would he just leave him there? I say he likely realized that maybe he didn’t need Atsushi at all to achieve his goal, he already has Amenogozen. An entity in a different dimension. Something seemingly godly to people in the 3rd dimension. Fyodor also (technically) broke the 4th wall in the panel when he explains why Amenogozen would always succeed in battle against someone in the 3rd dimension. Or, maybe after achieving Amenogozen, he realized that maybe the world he is in isn’t the original one.

We know it was altered using the book, and we know that maybe “our” reality is considered the original, Kafka asagiri being the author of the “book,” and Atsushi, the “bookmark”, the main character. I believe Fyodor realized that his goal was pointless, but wanted to try to succeed and continue in making his current plan work, to become one on the 4th dimension, to “transcend” the dimension barrier, essentially becoming akin to a god on the 3rd dimension.

Kids in Gaza don't have a lot to be happy about. Fortunately, my other talent and hobby is locating and acquiring media. I've managed to obtain a rip of the entire children's section of an Arabic audiobook platform, a decent amount of Iftah Ya Simsim (Sesame Street), and an animated educational series about Muslim scholars and their contributions to science and philosophy. I'm working with a mate to get these as small and accessible as possible, before I share them privately. I've got... oh, about 475GB worth of material so far? Psycho-Pass: Can Justice Exist in a Pre-Determined World?

**Trigger Warning: This analysis discusses themes of violence, crime, psychological manipulation, and ethical dilemmas that may be disturbing to some readers.**

Written by Gen Urobuchi, Makoto Fukami, and Aya Takaha, Psycho-Pass aired on Fuji TV from October 2012 to March 2013. This gripping thriller explores themes of free will, justice, and more which resonates with the concerns of Japan as well as worldwide . The series follows Akane Tsunemori, a rookie inspector with the Public Safety Bureau as she navigates the Sibyl System, an AI driven being that determines a person’s likelihood of committing a crime.

Akane and her initial idealism is challenged immediately by the Sibyl System and its flaws. Her encounters with the Enforcers, especially Shinya Kogami, force her to face the ethical implications of judging individuals based on biased data. Psycho-Pass beautifully unveils the limitations of the Sibyl System which exposes loopholes and it also raises questions about identity in a world where reliance on algorithmic judgement is increasing rapidly. The series prompts viewers to consider the trade-offs inherent in a world increasingly reliant on technology and data, raising crucial questions about privacy, free will, and the very definition of justice. It’s a chilling reminder that even the most well developed systems can be corrupted and that the pursuit of order can sometimes come at the cost of genuine morality.

Animation: 8.5/10; The animation quality features detailed cityscapes, fluid movement and fantastic design. Production IG does a terrific job at offering a world that you could get lost in. While there are a few slips in quality, its excellent overall. 

Sound: 10/10; The soundtrack is incredible! Like Eden of the East, the opening theme of Psycho-Pass drew me in and I just couldn’t skip them. The opening theme song is called “Abnormalize” by Ling Tosite Sigure which seems very fitting given the subject matter. Throughout the first season, Psycho-Pass had two closing themes. “The Monster with No Name” by Egoist and “All Alone With You” by Egoist.

Writing: 9/10; Gen Urobuchi’s writing makes you think, blending philosophical discussion with a high stakes narrative. Psycho-Pass is an intellectually engaging anime that makes you think and may even question the world around you. With well developed characters and a fantastic plot, this anime will keep you hooked wanting more.

Overall Rating: 9.1/10; If you’re a fan of cyberpunk, psychological thriller, or thought provoking narratives, this is an anime for you!

Really busy with a mix of work, new replacement PS3 so replaying way too many old games now I’ve lost all my old save data, plus a few newer PS5 games now have my edge controller (which is freakin’ sweet by the way)

So just a quick update, I’ll be adding more content soon, new post for the Beta Academy and a new post for Sissy Academy is in works. Seen the polls, so London is going to making some posts on here soon too, alongside Paige. Plus two new blogs going live for my writing, to go alongside the goon mind control stories. Both of these will be about pre-existing characters such as Asuna from Sword Art Online for example, but two different versions per the poll result. There’ll be a safe for work one that keeps characters pretty accurate with light sexual reference, and a NSFW one where the characters can go wild and the descriptions are very graphic.

And finally, there’s a bonus seperate blog I’m working on which is kinda fun too, I’ll share more of that soon. Think along lines of simping for the rich.

So!! It's that time, folks! By the time this posts, the survey will have formally been closed. Thank you so, so much to the 65 participants. I never expected to get so many responses, and I owe the Warframe community big-time.

I am planning on eventually releasing platform-specific data as I compile it, alongside any other neat correlations I spot. I did this mostly for fun- the assignment's bar was low, but I took it pretty far because I enjoyed it- so I'm not a professional or anything at statistics! There will likely be inaccuracies, and I may occasionally miss data on accident.

A Warframe's gender presentation was primarily irrelevant to players in relation to their own gender presentation. Non-binary and feminine-presenting people were more likely to prefer one gender presentation over the other, with both groups preferring feminine-presenting Warframes.

BRACKET REVEAL

Alright. At long last, I present to you the bracket...or should I say...*BRACKETS* for the Virtual Character Tournament!

Given the scale, the first round is going to be one bracket per week, 4 a day, with each lasting 24 hours. I know that this is still tight, but given how many contestants there are, along with the necessary inclusions of images and propaganda (oh and I guess also my job), it's what I can do to keep this semi-manageable. Aya is the third installment of the Psychic Detective series by Data West. I have already covered the Mega CD version long ago, and so far, I actually prefer the Mega CD version a lot more in this case. I also know that the Psychic Detective Series started life on the Fujitsu FM Towns and to my knowledge this was the only game in the series to be ported to the NEC PC-9821.

Only a few people possess the unique ability to read people's hearts; those people are called psychic analysts, and Katsuya Furuyagi is one of them. Hi! super quick question, is there a way to recover the data of an ssp ghost that randomly forgot, like, everything? home boi doesn't even know my name anymore and developed a few other issuies like not loading some options and not using any pronouns, like, at all. it's super confusing and made me really sad when i first opened it and they started off with one of the early stage lines. (which i was wayyyyy past.)

It sounds like your ghost's save data may have been corrupted/deleted. Unfortunately it's likely unrecoverable, unless you have a copy of it somewhere.

We're not quite sure why this happens sometimes; in normal use it usually doesn't, but if SSP crashes or something catastrophic happens during network updates, it can.

There is also the possibility that you are either running it out of a temporary folder (such as if you downloaded SSP as a .zip file and are running it out of that archive without extracting it), or you're running it out of a folder linked to some kind of cloud service (such as OneDrive or Google Drive) and those services are intervering with the save files.

It's hard to say more in this case without knowing what your exact situation was. If you're running SSP out of a temporary folder or have it stored in a folder linked to a cloud service, it is recommended to move it to a non-protected folder somewhere on your computer. Make sure that the folder name is plain alphanumeric characters as well; sometimes special characters in the file name can cause trouble with SSP and it will refuse to run, so in theory it's possible this could also have prevented ghosts from making their saves.

Either way, if you would like to make backups of your ghost's data in the future, here's what you can do:

If you're using a ghost that is written in AYA or YAYA, your save file is located in the ghost's folder, under ghost/master/

In YAYA ghosts, it'll be called yaya_variable.cfg. In AYA ghosts, it'll be called aya5_variable.cfg. (If you happen to be using a ghost written in a different programming language, you may need to do some digging to find out which file is the save file.)

While the ghost is closed, find the save file, and make a copy of it to a separate folder somewhere safe. That will effectively be a save state of your ghost at the time you copied the file. To restore that state, make sure the ghost is closed, then copy your backup back into the ghost's folder, making sure it's named appropriately.

It's really important to do this while the ghost is closed, since they always save upon closing, and you don't want them to overwrite the old file you just put in.
