Muhammad Hashim Premji founded Western Indian Products Ltd. in 1945. It produced soap with the brand name 787 and cooking oil with the name Sunflower Vanaspati. After his father passed away in 1966, Azim Premji returned from Stanford University and assumed control of Wipro. Wipro used to deal in hydrogenated oil, but Azim Premji later expanded the business to include hair care, lighting goods, baby toiletries, baking fats, and toiletries. Premji joined the technology field by producing minicomputers with the assistance of an American business, Sentinel Computer Corporation, in the 1980s after seeing the promising future of the information technology sector. hi c! as someone who was (until recently) a college student, what is your opinion on liberal arts universities in india (likes of ashoka, krea, azim premji, flames)? esp history programs, bc you took history, but otherwise too

i don’t know what the history programmes are like at krea or flames, but azim premji is fairly good and ashoka is doing really good things with history. it — or flame or azim premji for that matter — is also generally shaping up to be a good university, which is nice to see.

that's pretty much the only opinion i have. if there's a good program i don’t see a reason to not do it. there is obviously the class and inequality argument to be made here, but i don’t think it helps beyond a point because it’s not like we would always only have public universities or colleges. and it’s not like they’re free of similar problems.
