oh spirits, I have been busy since the last update on this monster

That's right, the Baneblade is completed!

This thing is so big it doesn't properly fit in my scuffed photo booth that is literally just a piece of A3 paper for a neutral background

Absolutely magnificent beast, I am so happy with this thing.

Wait, what do you mean this wasn't just a Baneblade...?

One of my favourite 40k details is that in a setting full of dark cursed artifacts by evil mocking gods, there is something called the “Baneblade”

Now, you’d expect something called “Baneblade” to be some sort of daemon infused sword, dark as night, thirsting for blood, the whole edgy 5 mile

But in reality the Baneblade is

and due to the way that vehicles and machinery in general work in 40k, it is a

I've long maintained that Citadel vehicle kits are about thirty percent smaller than they should be, so it's gratifying that the Rogal Dorn appears to be about thirty percent later than the Leman Russ.

It's still almost absurdly overgunned when assembled with all of its optional weapons, though, so maybe just go with the headlights instead of the bow meltas.

Sometimes when buying job lots or bits boxes for spares, you can run into some very odd things. This beauty was one such example that arrived half-done and in bits. After realising what was being made, I just had to finish off at least the basic structure. Fixing up some of the weapons, turret, and certain additions before stripping the original paint job and giving it a lead belcher coat.

I ended up naming this one a Super Baneblade in the same vein as how you have Dreadnought and Super Dreadnought battleships. It's no longer mine though, as I had to sell it on to cover some costs a few years back. I'm admittedly kicking myself a bit over that but, having worked on so many tanks for people over the years, I've never had any desire to have an armoured company from the Guard.

Now a drop company on the other hand...

First win with the Heralds in person

Unfortunately didn't get too many pictures, as I was trying to do 500 things at once during the match.

The match-up was against a a tank clumn of Astra Militarum. We rolled deployment A from the Leviathan GT set up with Terrain Layout 3. Ended up getting almost obliterated turn 2, before my reinforcements came in.

After that, it became smooth sailing, with Desolation Marines w/ Appothecary + Bolter Discipline killing a knight, and the Sanguinary Guard w/ Dante killing another, which ended up collapsing his assault and keeping him on the defense, which was perfect for the Sanguinary Guard to abuse with their movement.

Baneblade + Bloodreign

Another day, or rather night, of doing busy work- Baneblade had been loaned out for some decepticon grunt missions that no one else would pick up. But he didn’t mind, it gave him something to do. He could only sharpen his skills so much and meditate on what he’s ‘learned’ when nothing outside of his room happens much at all A swoop downward echoed the halls of the cybernetic castle as Bloodreign landed nearby, crouched and parting his cape with a grin as he rose to his true height. It was nothing compared to Baneblade, but Reign’s height was nothing to scoff at, it complimented his thin frame and long spindly limbs as an energon vampire. He sure had a spring in his step, claws drifting past Bane’s arm as he turned to face him and look up at his beloved thrall. “You did vonderful tonight, my dear.” His claws skating across the others rather proudly displayed chassis, a hollow autobot symbol over where the spark would be as Bloodreign held his familiar’s cheek. “Shall ve?” Baneblade nodded once down silently at his Master, Bloodreign’s sharp toothed grin growing as he turned and began to head towards their shared chambers. Baneblade keeping pace behind him without a word, he never did have much to say these days.
