Resurrecting the Barbie pics I took years ago for Pink Bow City Magazine with the help of Vestige Photography. “Barbie The Movie” makes it possible for me to have some part of the Barbie World action. 🤗🤗🤗💅🏾💅🏾💅🏾
I went to see the new Barbie movie, because I was in the mood for a light-hearted fun movie. As I love every occasion for some dressing-up I wanted to go with a kinda pink outfit too. I wore my patchwork skirt (bought ages ago at a fleamarket and since then repaired countless times) pulled up as a dress. You're meant to wear it as a strapless dress, but I don't like that look and would probably have to replace the elastic first before it would stay up one it's own. So I safety pinned the skirt-dress to a tanktop. I went with matching hot pink felt flower earrings and a hair flower as well. I felt very cute and had fun at the cinema!
[id]Picture 1: A close-up picture of a young fat white woman with glasses and long brown hair. She's smiling towards the camera and trying to show half a heart with her left hand. The close-up shot shows her hot pink felted flower earrings and the dark purple butterfly necklace. You can see her red sportsbra, pinkish/purple tanktop and the beginning of the patchwork skirt she's wearing as a dress. Next to her are some cheerful yellow flowers with brown centers.
Picture 2: A full body shot of a young fat white woman with glasses and long brown hair worn in two braids. She's standing on a busy commercial street, where only foot traffic and bikes are allowed. She smiles at the camera and holds up one side of her skirt, to show off the fullness of the skirt. The skirt is a patchwork skirt, made up with many colourful patches. The dominant colour is a dusty but intense pink. Many of the pink patches have yellow flowers. It's a very cheerful and summery skirt/dress (can be worn either way). The woman has safety pinned the skirt/dress to a light pinkish-purple tank top. Her accessoires (earrings and hairflower) are a bright magenta pink and her butterfly necklace is purple.
She's wearing shoes because she has to, but they are pretty too. Intricate strap sandals in a creme and light-brown colour with cut-out details.
Picture 3: A close-up of a full-body shot of the young fat white woman with glasses and long brown hair worn in two braids. She's giving the viewer a slight smile and forms a heart with her fingers to send positive vibes. In this picture you can see she also has a sandy-coloured crocheted shoulder bag with her, to carry her possessions. [/id]
i was thinking about that post comparing Jessica Rabbit as an asexual to Barbie and an asexual and then i thought of the Neil Gaiman post (was it a post?) about Crowley and Aziraphale being asexual sexless and then this happened.
anyways. thoughts?
sorry it took so long I meant to do this a week ago but my brain is full of rocks.
[Image ID a three sided venn diagram. the big circles show Margot Robbie's Barbie sitting in front of a mirror, Jessica and Roger Rabbit from the poster of Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and Aziraphale and Crowley from Good Omens standing back to back. Between Barbie and Jessica Rabbit it says "sexualised by society". Between Jessica Rabbit and Aziraphale and Crowley it says "Knows what sex is". Between Aziraphale and Crowley and Barbie it says "no reproductive system(?)". the center is the asexual flag. End ID]
Also i haven't seen the Barbie movie as of this edit so at least please tag your spoilers.
We're not appreciating the Weird Barbie enough. It's said in the movie that she helps everyone who need help while they always see her as someone who's not as good as them. She was friends with all dismissed Barbies and Kens, was there to offer support and safe shelter for everyone who needed it in Kendom, without her nothing in the movie would've been alright. When Stereotypical Barbie calls her "ugly and unwanted" she still helps her.
She was representing a woman in women's world who was pushed aside by other women because she didn't fit in but still had more wisdom and kindness than everyone who thought they're better than her.
Wolfie and Four friendship appreciation doodles! They're shared secrets besties! I hope Four's distrust of the shadow crystal doesn't drive anything between them. Wild found his way into this compilation with a force. It seems I can't draw Wolfie and not include him too!
