HAPPY 12TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY TO THE PRINCE AND PRINCESS OF WALES!
HRH Prince William Arthur Philip Louis and Miss. Catherine Elizabeth Middleton married in a religious ceremony on 29 April 2011 at Westminster Abbey in London.
Will and Cat were married by the Archbishop of Canterbury, while the Dean of Windsor conducted the ceremony and the Bishop of London gave the address.
Catherine wore a dress by Surah Burton of Alexander McQueen. The Royal School of Needlework's hand-made lace applique for the bodice and skirt incorporated the rose, thistle, daffodil and shamrock. She was lent the Cartier Scroll Tiara by her grandmother-in-law and gifted a pair of diamond earrings featuring acorns from Robinson Pelham by her parents for the special day. The bridal bouquet featured myrtle, lily-of-the-valley, sweet William, ivy, and hyacinth.
William doned on the red tunic of the Colonel of the Irish Guards uniform with a forage cap bearing the Irish Guards insignia and motto, "Quis Separabit?. He wore the Order of the Garter Star and Blue Riband to which his RAF Wings & Golden Jubilee Medal were fastened.
Upon their wedding they were conferred upon the titles of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Earl & Countess of Strathearn and Baron and Lady Carrickfergus by Queen Elizabeth II.
Following the ceremony in true fairytale fashion, the new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge travelled in the 1902 State Landau in a horse-drawn carriage procession to Buckingham Palace. They appeared on the Palace Balcony for a RAF Flypast and shared TWO KISSES to the delight of the crowd gathered below and my 11 year old self's.
The official wedding photos of the couple with their families and wedding party were taken by Hugo Burnand in the throne room of Buckingham Palace.
A Reception for the couple and their guests was hosted at Buckingham Palace by The Queen while the then Prince of Wales hosted a further private dinner. The couple'a guests had two wedding cakes to choose from - a multi-tiered traditional fruit cake crafted by Fiona Cairns & William's favourite chocolate biscuit cake.
William and Catherine drove to Clarence House following the lunchtime reception in a blue, two seat Aston Martin DB6 Volante which was originally a 21st birthday gift to the then Prince of Wales by the Queen.
William and Catherine have three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. The family of five they divide time between their official residence at Kensington Palace in London and their two private residences Amner Hall in Norfolk & Adelaide Cottage in Windsor.
They became The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and The Duke and Duchess of Rothesay after King Charles III's accession to the throne and were made The Prince and Princess of Wales by him on 9 September 2022.
As well as undertaking royal duties in support of The King, both in the UK and overseas, The Prince and Princess devote their time to supporting a number of charitable causes and organisations with some of their key areas of interest being Early Childhood Development, Mental Health, Conservation, Arts, Sports etc.

Personally, I've had enough of this circus. The monarchy does nothing to stop them and we end up wondering if there is not a double game on the part of Charles and the palace. Four years have passed and so many things that could have been done and nothing happened. The palace protects these two traitors and considers the public stupid. They could have taken away the duchy from them, demoted them to the rank of count and countess or worse, baron and baroness. All traitors.
Hi Nonny,
I think many people are feeing fed up with the Harkle antics and the lack of a firm response from the palace. I know I am. I agree that more could be done to minimise the Harkle damage.
I would start by making a very clear distinction between them and the rest of the royal family, in a way that would be understood by people in any country, such as taking Harry off the royal website. King Charles made a good beginning in his speech shortly after his accession where he spoke of William and Catherine as The Prince and Princess of Wales and referred to Harry as Harry, while wishing him well in his life overseas, but - he then didn't follow it up with any action to reinforce that distinction, so Harry was able to continue to imply that he was an important member of the royal family, and there was nothing to contradict this on the website or in his titles.
With respect to the titles, my understanding is they go together, as a group. The format is to have a Dukedom in England, an Earldom in Scotland, and a Barony in Northern Ireland (Wales is reserved for the heir to the throne). Prince William's titles upon marriage followed the same format (Duke of Cambridge, Earl of Strathearn and Baron Carrickfergus), as did Prince Andrew's (Duke of York, Earl of Inverness and Baron Killyleagh) and Prince Philip's (Duke of Edinburgh, Earl of Merioneth, Baron Greenwich). Prince Edward was unusual in that he was made and Earl, not a Duke, and promised the Dukedom of Edinburgh in due course (Earl of Wessex and Viscount Severn). He also held no Scottish or Northern Irish title until he was granted the Earl of Forfar for use in Scotland on his 55th birthday.
As the titles were bestowed together, to my mind they should be removed together, which would leave Harry as The Prince Harry and Meghan as The Princess Meghan (EDIT: Correction: The Princess Harry/Henry, not Meghan - my mistake, sorry). I would much rather have the HRH style and Prince title permanently removed from Harry, leaving him as the plain Duke of Sussex, or have all titles stripped from him, leaving him as Harry Mountbatten-Windsor. I would also be happy to see him vanish from the royal website. If both of those happened I would be very happy, as then Harry Mountbatten-Windsor could live his life with the privacy that he keeps saying he desires, with no public ties to the BRF. He could be on the same level as Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall, who have both managed to live without titles.

The royal wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton ♡
The wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton took place on Friday, 29 April 2011 at Westminster Abbey in London, England. One million people lined the route between Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace and the ceremony was viewed live by 162 million people worldwide, with a total of 36.7 million watchers in the United Kingdom alone.
The bride wore a dress designed by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen. The gown was made of ivory satin and featured an overlaid long-sleeved V-neck lace bodice and appliquéd full skirt with box pleats, as well as a nine-foot train. The motifs in the lace included roses, thistles, daffodils and shamrocks to represent England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Catherine wore the Cartier Halo Tiara, lent to her by the Queen, as well as custom-made diamond earrings given to her by her parents (the piece features oak leaves similar to the scrolls of the Cartier Halo Tiara and an acorn, in reference to the Middleton's coat of arms). The bride's bouquet contained myrtle, lily of the valley, ivy, hyacinth and sweet William.
The groom wore an Irish Guards mounted officer's uniform in Guard of Honour Order with a forage cap, as well as the star of the Order of the Garter, his RAF wings and Golden Jubilee Medal.
On the morning of the wedding, it was announced that William was to be created Duke of Cambridge, Earl of Strathearn, and Baron Carrickfergus, with Catherine becoming Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge after the wedding.

12: William’s investiture as POW to take place as part of Charles’s coronation ceremony.
Busted as of description in letters of patent. Private ceremony 😔🇬🇧
I disagree.
The letters patent for Charles and David have the same identical language, BUT:
Charles's LP was published in 1958 while his investiture was in 1969.
Edward/David's LP was published in 1910 on his 16th birthday, while his investiture was a year later in 1911. (Edit: Edward's investiture came a few weeks after George V's coronation which makes it more likely for William's investiture to come after Charles's coronation too. Maybe during this return visit to Wales that he and Catherine keep promising everyone.)
(See notes about the creations and investitures here.)
This suggests that the description is the traditional boilerplate language and is in no way a confirmation that there was an investiture. Therefore I do not consider it resolved and I personally won't, not until there are publicly available photographs or other solid incontrovertible proof.
If you click the link for Edward/David below, it will take you to a page that has all of the letters patent text for all creations of the Prince of Wales, and you'll see that the same language has been used since 1841/Queen Victoria. Edward VII probably did have the private investiture that the language was created for, which was then copied forward for the others. Why keep reinventing the wheel?
(Texts for William's, Charles's, and Edward/David's letters patent creating them as Prince of Wales are below the jump.)

William (and Harry) also retains their lesser titles until William’s are merged with the crown, so it will actually be (deep breath)
His Royal Highness The Prince William, Prince of Wales and Earl of Chester, Duke of Cornwall, Duke of Rothesay, Duke of Cambridge, Earl of Carrick, Earl of Strathearn, Lord of the Isles, Baron of Renfrew, Baron Carrickfergus and Prince and Great Steward of Scotland, KG, KT, PC, ADC (+ any other honours he’d get lol)
I assume William will be one of Charles’ first appointments as aide de camp so he’ll have both the queen and Charles’ cyphers for that, and that Camilla, Kate, and Anne will have Charles family order at least in time for the coronation if not sooner. Anyway, compare that ☝🏼 with 👇🏼 especially if the HRH are still not used
The Prince Henry, Duke of Sussex, Earl of Dumbarton, Baron Kilkeel, KCVO
Very deep breaths!
I can't wait for Catherine to wear both TQ's and Charles Family order!

I’ll defer to KP’s knowledge, but I thought C’s title was Lady Carrickfergus as the wife of a Baron, instead of a Baroness in her own right?
ahahaha the institution sometimes doesn't seem to know things they should. The palace, at the beginning of their marriage, used the "Lady" style when referring to Catherine but I guess it changed.
I remember there was an interesting discussion once on Twitter about this and several people were saying that by getting married, Catherine was adopting the female version of William's titles so she wasn't simply the wife of a Baron, so they concluded that it made sense for her to use the title Baroness because that's the female version of William's title and honestly, that makes sense.
