Character 1 Cassian Albrecht

Image crated using Recraft and ChatLLM with Claude 3.5 Sonnet
Description
A weathered warrior in his forties, Cassian Albrecht cuts an intimidating figure in his patchwork of trophy armor - each piece a dark memento taken from fallen vampire nobility. The elegant, obsidian-black plates bear ornate engravings typical of vampire craftsmanship, circular medallions and flowing Gothic patterns intertwining across the surface. His only flash of color is a crimson scarf, faded and battle-worn, tied across his chest as a proud declaration of his allegiance to the Crimson Vanguard. The mysterious Cloak of Ethereal Shadows flows around him, its dark fabric seeming to bend light and blur his movements, while the silver Talisman of Crimson Sight gleams at his throat, its hollow gem set in intricate silverwork occasionally pulsing with a soft red ethereal glow.
His stern face is framed by the lightest shadow of silver-peppered stubble and crowned with military-short grey hair kept precisely trimmed. Sharp, vigilant eyes constantly scan his surroundings, a habit born from years of hunting supernatural prey. His sturdy, athletic build speaks to a lifetime of combat, while his severe expression rarely wavers from its grim set. At his hip hangs the shimmering rapier Crimson Fang, its vampire-forged blade a bitter reminder of his enemies' craftsmanship. The overall effect is that of a man shaped by war and vengeance - a shadow among shadows, save for that defiant splash of crimson across his chest.

Character Sheet
High Concept: Last Duelist of the Crimson Rebellion
Cassian is the last surviving duelist of the Crimson Rebellion, a war that tore apart the kingdom of Eryndor and its people. Though his deeds were legendary, the world has moved on, and few remain who remember his name or his role in the war.
Trouble: Haunted by Those Who Remember
Cassian’s past actions during the Crimson Rebellion have left him with enemies—both human and supernatural—who seek vengeance or justice.
Additional Aspects:
The Blade Knows No Mercy
Cassian’s rapier, Crimson Fang, is a weapon of unparalleled precision and lethality, forged by ancient vampire blacksmiths. It is as unyielding as its wielder.
Tales of My Feats Are Whispers in the Dark
Stories of Cassian’s deeds are spoken in hushed tones, often exaggerated or distorted. His name inspires both awe and fear, but few dare to speak of him openly.
A Relic of a Broken World
Cassian is a living remnant of the Crimson Rebellion, a man shaped by a war that left the world in ruins. To some, he is a symbol of hope and resilience; to others, a dangerous relic of a past best forgotten.
Skills:
Great (+4): Fight
Good (+3): Notice, Athletics
Fair (+2): Will, Physique, Lore
Average (+1): Investigate, Provoke, Rapport, Crafts
Stunts:
Precision Strike
Once per scene, when attacking with Fight, Cassian can spend a Fate Point to ignore an opponent's armor.
The Fearsome Duelist
Gain +2 to Provoke when attempting to intimidate someone in combat.
Rapid Reflexes
Gain +2 to Athletics when defending against ranged or melee attacks.
Extras:
Talisman of Crimson Sight
Description: A silver amulet inscribed with ancient runes, glowing faintly when supernatural evil is near. This subtle red glow intensifies the closer the danger is.
Effect: Detect supernatural evil and gain +2 to Notice or Lore when actively searching for it.
Narrative: The talisman was a gift from Clara, a vampire who has loved Cassian since childhood. It not only allows Cassian to sense evil intent but also lets Clara know his location and emotional state at all times.
Cloak of Ethereal Shadows
Description: A dark, flowing cloak that shimmers faintly, creating the illusion of displacement. Cassian’s movements appear blurred and slightly out of sync, making it difficult for enemies to track him.
Effect: Enemies take a -2 penalty to hit Cassian unless they succeed on an opposed Notice vs. Athletics roll.
Equipment:
Weapons:
Shimmering Rapier ("Crimson Fang"):
Description: An enchanted weapon forged over a thousand years ago by ancient vampire blacksmiths. Its shimmering edge and unyielding quality make it a perfect tool for slaying supernatural creatures.

Standard Gear:
Holy Water Vials
Steel-Pointed Stakes

Background
The Crimson Rebellion and Its Aftermath
Cassian Albrecht was once a decorated general in the Crimson Rebellion, a war that shattered the kingdom of Eryndor and left its people struggling to rebuild. The rebellion began when Cassian uncovered a horrifying truth: King Aldemar, ruler of Eryndor, had allied with the vampire lord Kaelith Drazhar, leader of a shadow empire known as the Umbral Court. This unholy alliance sought to consolidate power at the expense of humanity, plunging the land into chaos.
Unable to stand by, Cassian turned against the king he had once sworn to serve, leading his forces in a desperate uprising. The rebellion was a brutal and bloody conflict that lasted for months, with Cassian fighting enemies on all sides—vampires, their mortal legions, and the loyalists of Eryndor. Though the rebellion ultimately succeeded in toppling both the kingdom and the Umbral Court, the cost was unimaginable. The kingdom was left in ruins, and nearly all who fought alongside Cassian perished. Now, only a few scattered survivors remember his name, and his deeds have faded into whispers and legends, spoken only in the shadows of taverns and the hushed prayers of the desperate.
A Man Haunted by Regret
Cassian’s greatest regret is not the rebellion itself but the years he spent serving a corrupt king. He laments the time he wasted as a pawn of the crown, following orders instead of forging his own destiny. In his darker moments, he wonders if he could have avoided the war entirely by retreating from society with his espoused and living a quiet life far from the corruption of the world. Yet such peace would never truly be possible, and now even the memories of his family—his wife and children—are fading. He carries no mementos of them, only the fragments of recollection that linger in his mind, growing dimmer with each passing year. Their faces are like ghosts, haunting him in the quiet hours of the night.
A Crusade Against Corruption
Cassian’s crusade is driven not only by his personal loss but by the suffering of countless others. He sees greed and the hunger for power as a corruption that infects society, though he struggles to articulate its true nature. To him, it is an insidious force that must be eradicated, no matter the cost. Cassian has become a relentless force of vengeance, striking down those who exploit and oppress others. His mission is not just for himself but for all who have suffered under the weight of corruption and tyranny.
The Enigmatic Clara Redtail
Cassian’s only true ally is Clara Redtail, a mysterious figure who has been by his side in times of need. Unbeknownst to Cassian, Clara is a vampire, though she possesses an ability that allows her to hide this truth from him. Clara has loved Cassian since they were children, long before he married and had a family. She watched his life from afar, unable to intervene, and now she remains close to him, offering her support in subtle ways.
Clara gifted Cassian the Talisman of Crimson Sight, a silver amulet inscribed with ancient runes. To Cassian, it is a tool that allows him to sense supernatural evil, glowing faintly when danger is near. What he does not know is that the talisman also allows Clara to track his location and emotional state, ensuring she can always find him when he is in need. Though her love for him is genuine, Clara lives in quiet dread, her devotion warring with the fear of what might happen if Cassian were to discover her true nature. Each moment by his side is both a blessing and a curse.
Enemies in the Shadows
Cassian’s enemies are as numerous as the stars. Among them is Lord Veylin, a former noble who betrayed Cassian during the rebellion and now rules a powerful city-state. Veylin has aligned himself with supernatural forces to maintain his power and views Cassian as a dangerous threat to his dominion.
Another of Cassian’s foes is Seraphine Kaelith Drazhar, the daughter of the vampire lord Kaelith. Seraphine survived the rebellion and now seeks revenge against Cassian for the destruction of her father and the Umbral Court. She is a cunning and deadly adversary, her hatred for Cassian burning as fiercely as his hatred for her kind. Her name is whispered among the remnants of the vampire legions, a shadow that looms over Cassian’s path.
A Stoic and Relentless Hunter
Cassian carries himself with an air of cold confidence, his stoic demeanor masking the pain and anger that drive him. He speaks little, his words sharp and deliberate. Though he despises all forms of authority from parental figures to shop keepers, he has a soft spot for children, seeing them as a beacon of hope for humanity’s future. He often goes out of his way to protect them, though he does so without fanfare or acknowledgment. To the people he aids, he is a grim savior, a man who appears from the shadows to deliver justice before vanishing once more.
A View of the Supernatural
Cassian’s hatred extends beyond vampires to all who serve them. He views their legions as an extension of the corruption he seeks to destroy. While he does not hate all supernatural beings, he has no patience for those who prey on humanity. His encounters with vampires and their thralls have left him with a deep-seated resolve to eliminate them wherever they are found.
The Crimson Vanguard
Cassian is followed by a small band of loyalists known as the Crimson Vanguard, remnants of the old Vanguard of Light who share his vision of a world free from corruption. Though their numbers are few, they are fiercely dedicated to his cause. The Crimson Vanguard maintains Ashenhold, a crumbling fortress that serves as a rallying point for their efforts. While Cassian rarely lingers there, the fortress is maintained by a handful of volunteers who see it as a symbol of resistance.
The Blade and the Cloak
Cassian wields Crimson Fang, an enchanted rapier forged thousands of years ago by ancient vampire craftsmen. The blade is unyielding, never dulling or breaking, and its shimmering edge makes it especially effective against supernatural creatures. Though it is a weapon of great power, its origins serve as a bitter reminder of the vampires Cassian despises.
He also wears the Cloak of Ethereal Shadows, a dark, shimmering garment woven from rare desert silk and infused with shadow magic. The cloak was claimed after a grueling siege on a lesser vampire lord’s keep. The cloak creates the illusion of displacement, making Cassian’s movements appear blurred and out of sync, which confounds his enemies in battle.
A Relentless Combatant
In battle, Cassian is a cold and efficient killer. Once a master of elegant dueling, he has abandoned much of his finesse in favor of brutal, overwhelming force. He rarelyt taunts or speaks to his enemies, focusing solely on eliminating them as brutaly as possible. His fighting style reflects the man he has become: relentless, unyielding, and utterly without mercy.
A World Rebuilding from Ruin
The world Cassian inhabits is one still reeling from the aftermath of the Crimson Rebellion. Vampires, while no longer the dominant threat they once were, still lurk in the shadows, preying on the weak. The name Cassian Albrecht is both feared and revered, with some seeing him as a hero and others as a dangerous relic of a bygone war. As he marches ever onward, Cassian remains a symbol of humanity’s struggle against the darkness, a lone duelist fighting to carve a better future from the ruins of the past.

The Making of a Monster
New blog post at the Wongery: The Making of a Monster
(Which is not so much about designing a monster, but rather about all the things I have to do before I can put monster stat blocks up on the Wongery. Sorry if the title is a little misleading.)

Carl is big on ao3. He has one fic and it’s a 125,542 word long novel that he updates weekly about his two gay ocs and their tumultuous enemies to lovers relationship.
It’s based entirely on Perry the Platypus’ relationship with Heinz Doofenshmirtz.
#he opens every update with a ridiculously long authors note complaining about his characters and how slow they are#like just GET TOGETHER ALREADY#Somebody comments ‘but aren’t YOU the one writing it? Just have them get together!’#if only it were so easy#if only#the fic has thousands of kudos btw#baljeet actively draws fanart for it and posts to a separate platform#everybody at OWCA is in on it#it’s basically a newsletter for them#Candace and Stacy both have roleplay blogs of the characters#monogram makes one appearance as a wildly self-centered sentient goat#phineas and ferb#perry the platypus#carl karl#heinz doofenshmirtz#perryshmirtz

Young freshly baked cookies still come out of the oven a bit soft (which is why baby doughs look like that). In order for them to rise crispy and strong, parents/caretakers have to put them out in sunlight, as that can harden their dough.
Basically, treat your baby dough as a plant.

Noon hit, and the sun was at its’ peak. Shining bright and heavy as he turned into the driveway to Margot’s house. He adjusted the USMC t-shirt he had worn on the way over there, and shoved his phone into his khaki work shorts.
He knocked softly on the door, ruffling a hand through his hair as he waited for Margot to answer. Once she did, he flashed his signature, shiny-teethed grin, the metal on his canines glinting in the sun.
“Hey, sweet. ‘M finally here.” He smiled softly, dusting his shoes on the “Welcome!” mat and stepping inside, his cowboy hat against his chest as a sign of respect for the lady.
“Nice place ya got. Lotta work to be done, but I can tell you ain’t helpless,” he smiled, setting his hat aside as he walked in. “Ya want m’ shoes by the door?”
@ride-sgt-rodeo
It was a lazy and hot afternoon, but it wasn't only the weather that made Margot restless or her palms sweat.
James was supposed to be there any minute and the thougtht alone was enough to have her pacing and fixing things around the house.
Pathetic, honestly, she thought as she laughed to herself, shaking her head.
She sat on her couch and patiently waited for him, trying not to sprint to the door as soon as she heard him knock.
Margot greeted James with a soft smile as he entered her house. "Hi, handsome," she said, her tone light and welcoming. She had always found his accent endearing, and his good manners even more so.
She watched him as he looked around the place, his eyes admiring her work. "Thanks. It's a work in progress but it's home."
Taking a look down at his shoes, she shook her head. "You can leave them on," she answered, leading him into the living room.
"Thanks for coming, hun. I really appreciate it," she said with a charming smile, closing the door behind him. It felt almost surreal to have him in her house, in her space.
"How was the drive?" She asked, crossing her arms over her chest.
