Eri’s Guide to Love and Dating

Love is in the air, and a trip to the Sapporo Snow Festival is the perfect time for Eri to spy—er, help her two favorite couples. Of course, she can’t set up cute cliché’d moments for Neshiki and Rindoka alone—she needs her trusty (and unwilling) sidekick Beat to help create a night of magic~

Though… who the magic ends up being for is another story entirely.

Started this in 2022… Glad to finally have gone and finished it!! It was nice to struggle less than I did when finishing this up compared to when I started it though, I made it prettier than it would have been otherwise~

Here’s a sneak peek at the BeatEri fic now that editing’s finally underway:

Yeah, that’s why they were here—to get snow in Shiki’s hair. ‘Cause what was more romantic in a setting like this than a guy gently cleaning it off, every bit of care going into each stroke as he stared at his one true love?

“But… I agree with you, actually,” she said, recovering as an idea hit her. “We’re gonna use your strength for this!”

“We are?” He let her drag him around the side of the sculpture, almost tripping over her when she stopped suddenly.

“It’s simple, really,” Eri said as she knelt down to scoop up a bunch of powdery snow. Standing, she showed it off to Beat. “They’ll be downwind from us in a sec, so send this into the air with your best flurry!” Eri threw the snow up in an example, letting the weak wind swirl it apart. She laughed as the snowflakes fell right back down on her, embracing the cold that seeped through her coat.

Though, she couldn’t embrace it very long. The shivers were back, and her teeth started chattering as she stammered, “L-like that, o-only on them instead!”

Beat shook his head. “You gonna get yourself sick if that sticks, yo.”

“Huh? What do you…”

Eri trailed off, her body locking in place as Beat’s hand touched her hair. His gloved fingers dusted off the snow, way more gentle than she expected given his usual strength.

“Damn, you got yourself good,” he commented. Not that Eri could reply. Her tongue was just as useless as the rest of her body, unable to even make the smallest noise as he worked to clean her off. Only her heart seemed to be functioning, the sound of her pulse throbbing in her ears as the seconds ticked by.
