There's just so many fantastic designs in Witch from Mercury that don't get nearly enough screen-time. And the Beguir-Beu is a great example.
I love the colors on this kit. The different shades of purple/lavender against the white are so striking.
And like the rest of the HGWFM line - there's no polycaps. This is a very solid plastic-on-plastic build. I guess maybe I'm a little worried about long-term wear from that? But right now, at least, it means a very solid and very poseable kit.
So, right off the bat, I'm annoyed by this head.
There's very unique clear parts - but they don't catch the light well. And there's nothing good to paint chrome behind those parts. There's some foil stickers, but I hate to put them over the clear parts.
I tried painting the underside of those clear parts chrome, but that didn't turn out great. I guess it's OK for now, but I'd love a better solution. Those clear bits don't pop nearly as much as I'd like them to.
The torso is just kind of one block. There isn't a separate waist section like you often see - although there is some good articulation in the middle, and you still get a decent ab-crunch.
There's a tiny little pilot seat under that clear bubble. There's no pilot figure, of course, since this is just an HG kit. But it's a nice little bit of detail. I don't think it's visible in this picture but I painted that seat black.
The arms and legs have the same shiny inset bits that I saw with the Michaelis - which just makes sense since that's a further refinement of this design. I think I mentioned it in that post... But this really looks more like it should be a Peil design than a Grassley one. It looks far more alien than the Dilanzas do.
Continuing the insect aesthetics... The backpack legitimately looks like a moth sitting on my desk.
Again I find myself somewhat annoyed by the accessories in this kit.
There's no alternate hands at all - just the two holding hands. And while we do get a weapon stand, which is fantastic, there's just one. So I can't display both non-kinetic pods at the same time.
I guess I'm just expecting too much from HG kits? I know they're obviously not going to contain as many bells and whistles as MG or RG kits... But I'd be willing to pay another couple dollars for two weapon stands in this box. Or an extra set of hands.
This kit is just straight-up striking. I don't think I've got anything else like it on my shelf.
The Michaelis obviously has a similar color-scheme... But this thing looks downright insectoid. The head and arms remind me of a preying mantis. The backpack looks like a moth. And then you pop off those non-kinetic pods and it looks even weirder.
As I mentioned - I'm a little annoyed that there's only one weapon stand and there aren't more hand options... And the feet are a little unsteady. It's clearly designed to be up on a stand. But those are really tiny little nit-picks.
It's a really fun, quick build that I can heartily recommend to anyone.

The Beguir-Beu, done and done.
while I do like the design and I absolutely love the blades ....I don't 100% like the color scheme. Something about the light purple I don't enjoy. I can see why people paint their kits. IF I ever reach that stage where I actually would start painting my models, this one will the first I'll redo.

CFK-029 Michaelis is a new model MS developed by Grassley Defense Systems that is equipped with the same "Antidote" Anti-GUND Format equipment seen on its predecessor, the CEK-040 Beguir-Beu.

My first time trying panel liners. It's a bit rough, but I think it works quite nicely to define detail in larger areas, especially the wings. They'd otherwise be featureless rectangles.

Do you think any amateur could handle a drink like this?
Amour-propre Effervesce | Fizz, Floral, Fandom
Suletta wouldn’t drink, but Guel Jeturk would despite, imo, probably not enjoying the taste of alcohol. However, there’s a classic cocktail that's PERFECT for that -- the Ramos Gin Fizz, which I retemplated to include both an interesting purple sweetener and several layers of floral flavors including rose, with a glorious fluffy crown worthy of the Dilanza’s feather. The floral layers and variety of aromatics feels distinctly appropriate in G Witch, especially for a character like Guel.
However, the Ramos Gin Fizz isn’t for the Miorines of the cocktail world; it requires some careful prep, and takes a lot of upper arm strength and time shaking. So much like Guel had some... mechanical assistance imposed on him, we’re going to use a great hack established by famous cocktail bar Death & Co. We are going to use a whipped cream dispenser and force-nitro the cocktail to emulsify and foam up, without the hellish amount of shaking. However, it’s important to follow these instructions carefully.
Note: Alternate creams/vegan foaming agents may not provide the desired effect, due to the importance of the proteins in both the cream and the egg white. If you want to make this a mocktail, you can use your favorite tea in place of gin and omit the creme de violette.
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT: A Whipped-Cream Dispenser and Nitrous Oxide cartridges(8grm). These don’t need to be industrial grade, iSi whippers -- As long as its not the style marketed as the “Easywhip” with the spout right on top, look below for an example of the shape it should be. These can be bought online, or at culinary supply stores, or your local tobacco/vape shop or adult novelty store. Please DO NOT POINT TOWARDS SELF OR OTHERS WHILE SCREWING IN THE GAS CANISTER, AND ALIGN THE THREADING ON THE CANISTER HOLDER CAREFULLY TO MINIMIZE RISK OF VENTING COLD GAS FROM AN IMPROPER PUNCTURE.
Step 1: Place serving glass in freezer.
Step 2. Place the following ingredients in your whipped cream dispenser.
2 fl oz or 60ml Gin
0.5 fl oz or 15 ml Lemon Juice
0.5 fl oz or 15 ml Lime Juice
1 Dropper Bittermens Orange Cream Citrate*
.75ml Old Forester Hummingbird Rose & Citrus Bitters [or 2 dashes preferred floral bitters]
0.33 fl oz or 10ml Creme de Violette
1 fl oz or 30ml Blueberry Puree Syrup (I used Reál)
1 Egg White or 20ml liquid pasteurized egg white
0.75 fl oz or 22.5 ml Heavy Cream
1 drop Orange Blossom Water
1 drop Rosewater
*You can substitute 1 dash orange bitters[Angostura Orange preferable] and 3 drops vanilla extract if necessary or just omit
Have glass ready to receive.
Add a couple ice cubes and screw on cap tightly. Take 1 8 gram nitrous oxide charger. Common brands include Whip-Its, Bestwhip, and Leland. Insert charger into holder and screw in until you hear it vent into the dispenser. Give it a few gentle shakes.
Add about half an ounce of chilled seltzer or soda water to the bottom of frozen glass. Turn whip cream dispenser so spout is directly facing down and gently -- GENTLY -- press the lever to release. It should take about a minute or so to mostly fill the glass.
After filling or mostly filling the glass, let sit for 2-4 minutes, ideally in freezer. Then make small divot in foam and slowly pour in about .5-1 ounces or so of soda water. The foam should rise and not collapse if properly made and a straw inserted should stand up straight.
Lastly, if you desire, as a little nod to Guel’s iconic look, use an atomizer or spray bottle to spritz Peychaud’s bitters on top of the foam. Serve with a spoon to enjoy all the foam.
Credit is due to Death & Co for originating the nitro-Gin-Fizz, David Wondrich’s Imbibe for all I could ever want or need to know about Fizzes, and this Cocktail Contessa Mocktail for the blueberry syrup inspiration.
