Only time yall will ever see me post about AI on this blog:
I'm glad that most people aren't treating Character.ai the same as something like Stable Diffusion. Online writers are way less protective of their work than digital artists. Maybe in individual cases there are exceptions, but by and large it is not the same at all.
With that said though, it always struck me as weird that fanfiction writers legally can not make money off their work, yet it *is* legal to use fics to train chat bots and then charge a fee to use those bots. Just incredibly weird.

video games....
#mine#i love my steam deck sooooooooo much im so happy i can actually play games again like a big proper library of them#and everything#everything on steam AND emulators is available to me. do you know how many games that is!#i started a new beegee3 playthrough on the HARDEST DIFFICULTY (!) today. which is also a single-save difficulty#and im in one of the most difficult parts of the game right now (level 4) and kind of nervous lol#but at the same time im really proud of myself for learning the game to the point i feel comfortable challenging myself in it#and im happy i get to at all :D i love you video games#and sooner or later ill come back to stardew valley cause there was that big update and i have some games on my wishlist too#and its not verified yet but i might play that pomeranian making the house dirty game cause it looked cute#oh and yakuza also because my friend got two of the yakuzas for me#YAYYYYY GAMES#also kind of sad though because tomorrow i pack and sunday i go back for babys last quarter of college#and im worried about how busy its going to be with classes and job apps and then of course actually graduating#and moving out and haivng a job and stuff#when all i want is to enjoy being able to play video games again.... sig#sigh*#WHATEVER...future mes problem#oh i almost forgot...one of the best parts of the deck imo is the versatility because with games like beegee3#you can play it in controller mode which has its pros and cons but you can also swap to computer mode#which also has its pros and cons so like. i can adjust as needed#when im just exploring or trying to loot an area etc i go controller#but when im in combat i go computer because the hotbar is REALLY helpful for decision making#its really nice to have the option to choose since no console players have that it seems#and the only pc players who can do that are the ones who have and are willing to connect controllers#and most of them dont seem to be into that#but im really glad to be able to do both#ok done yapping now

Finally found the art program for me it seems, even though Krita gave me some troubles at first, I got comfortable pretty quickly once I worked out the tools. :D I’ve been wanting to practice with reference images, as well as it helps cement my fursona’s design!  Still might tweak the colors to be a little more pleasing to the eyes.  Even than, Pig looks amazing in digital art now that I got a better grasp on their design!
Anyway, Pigment is happy because they woke up and remembered it’s pride the 1st!!! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈

In today's extremely competitive employment market, having a distinct and adaptable skill set can considerably boost your employability. Web design is one example of a skill that has grown in popularity across multiple industries. Whether you're a new graduate, a professional looking for a promotion, or someone trying to change careers, understanding web design can give you a significant advantage. Here's how web design talents may set you apart in the employment market.
1. High need for web designers.
The digital age has made internet presence an essential component for organizations of all sizes. This has increased the demand for experienced web designers who can construct visually appealing and functioning websites. According to the Bureau of Labour Statistics, employment of web developers and digital designers is expected to expand by 8% between 2019 and 2029, substantially faster than the overall average. Companies are actively looking for specialists who can help them maintain a competitive online presence, making web design a profitable career option.
2. Versatility across industries.
Web design is not just for the technology industry. Web design knowledge is required in nearly every industry, including healthcare, education, retail, and entertainment. Having web design talents allows you to work as a front-end developer, UX/UI designer, digital marketer, or even content writer. This diversity creates multiple job opportunities and allows for career flexibility.
3. Improved Creativity and Problem Solving Skills
Web design is a field that combines creative and technical problem-solving. As a web designer, you'll be responsible for producing visually appealing designs that are also usable and functional. This dual need improves your ability to think creatively and solve complicated challenges, which are highly valued in any job market. Employers need someone who can bring new ideas to the table and improve user experiences.
4. Increased Freelance Opportunities
For people that seek flexibility and freedom in their professions, web design provides numerous freelance alternatives. Many companies, particularly startups and small firms, hire freelance web designers for project-based work. This enables you to develop a varied portfolio, work with a wide range of clients, and determine your own fees. Freelancing also helps to develop entrepreneurial skills, providing you a distinct advantage in the employment market.
5. Increased digital literacy
In today's digital environment, being familiar with web design tools and technology improves your overall digital literacy. Understanding HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and design applications such as Adobe Creative Suite improves your technical skills as well as your ability to communicate and interact with other computer experts. This broad digital literacy is an invaluable tool in almost any work sector.
6. Stand out with a personal portfolio
Creating a personal portfolio website is one of the best ways to demonstrate your web design talents. A well-designed portfolio not only showcases your greatest work, but it also exhibits your skill to create and manage websites. It serves as a live presentation of your skills to prospective employers, distinguishing you from candidates who rely solely on traditional resumes. A portfolio webpage showcases your hands-on experience and dedication to your craft.
7. Keeping up with industry trends.
Web design is a dynamic field in which new ideas and technology emerge on a regular basis. By staying up to date on these advancements, you demonstrate to potential employers that you are proactive and constantly learning. This skill is highly sought in any business because it shows that you can adapt to change and incorporate the most recent best practices into your work.
Conclusion
In today's highly competitive work environment, web design abilities can provide a considerable advantage. They not only increase your appeal to potential employers in a variety of industries, but they also improve your creativity, problem-solving skills, and digital literacy. I talked about the problem of Windows system requirements being too damn high before, and how the windows 10 to 11 jump is especially bad. Like the end of Windows 10 is coming october 2025, and it will be a massive problem. And this article gives us some concrete numbers for how many computers that can't update from win10 to 11.
And it's 240 million. damn. “If these were all folded laptops, stacked one on top of another, they would make a pile 600 km taller than the moon.” the tech analysis company quoted in the article explains.
So many functioning computers that will be wasted. And it's all because people don't wanna switch to a Linux distro with sane system requirements and instead buy a new computer.
Like if you own one of these 240 million windows 10 computers, Just be an environmentally responsible non-wasteful person and switch that computer to Linux instead of just scrapping it because Microsoft says it's not good enough.
Edit: as have been pointed out multiple times in the replies. It's really not "all because people don't wanna switch to a linux distro." It's really Microsoft's fault for this form of planned obsolescence.
My original post was lacking in perspective at best. And of course, people who use computers for work are often made reliant on Windows by their job and employers and can't switch. Or lack time, resources, and information to make the switch. Which is also due to systemic issues, such as lack of education, and the culture of obfuscation about tech that tech companies create.
Edit 2: Making this unrebloggable: now I really know what reddit mods mean when they say "the discussion has run its course" Like there is absolutely no conversation anymore, just repeating of points already made and responded to, just endless repetition
To quote @mlembug
Source
If you can spend 5-10 minutes writing a reblog clowning on somebody, but you can't:
spend 10s to do a basic courtesy of checking the appropriate pronoun of the person involved
spend 30s checking the reblogs of a post to see if someone also decided to clown on the same person
spend 10s to click on OP's post to see if it was edited in the meantime (and guess what: the edits in OP's post does indeed blame Microsoft for planned obsolescence, which you decided to blame her for not doing in one of your reblogs)
THEN YOU SHOULD NOT BE MAKING A REBLOG. EVER.
