Didn’t mean to post that last post on this blog but I’ll keep it up. I’ve been against the occupation of Palestinian since I learned about the topic about 2-3 years ago. I’m against colonization and abuse in general✨. This is not hate against Jewish people, as Jewish people are not the oppressive government or it’s army that is claiming to doing a good. There are much smarter people than me on the topic, but I have tried to learn as much as I can.

I really recommend the Fateful Triangle by Noam Chomsky. Just reading the intros will get the point across, but the state of Israel is a power grab for oil and control of the east - not an act of care for Jewish people

Or listen to Palestinians who have lived through this or are living through this. My first introduction to what was going on, other than growing up in a Christian conservative household that acted like Israel was good and always there. Was a classmate in my history and colonialism class. He talked about how his grandmother still wore the key to her old house that had been bulldozed to make apartments for settlers.

This is not a new issue. It’s an on going attempt at genocide

I know that Kaycee and Ethan decided on public school for Emma. But with everything that keeps happening in schools over in the US, are they going to change their decision?

Oh, honey. You don't know how much this question made my heart sink. Don't worry - I'm not at all upset or offended by it - it's real, and it's honest - and you know I love real and honest. It's just so sad, pathetic... I'm out of words... that this is what the US is known for. It's a disgusting reputation and well deserved, that breaks my heart on a daily basis. The fact that we, "the greatest nation in the world" *cough* can't fix a problem that absolutely NO other country has boggles my fucking mind. This subject hits very close to home for me, and trust me... this is a real question that real people need to ask themselves daily. But enough of that... let me answer your question, and the answer Ethan & Kaycee would give is the same one I do.

They would not change their mind. They might consider it one night after seeing the latest carnage on the news, in a moment of fear and desperation, but in the end... common sense takes over. They will be all over school officials to make sure everything that should be done is done - knowing all too well that nothing is for certain. But, they made the decisions they made for good reasons, and they're sticking with it, and here's why.

When it comes right down to it, there are no safe places. Private schools are no safer (in fact, first-hand experience, sometimes they're far less safe) than public. And here is a list of just some of the places mass shootings have occurred in America: Elementary Schools * High Schools * Virtually any place of work * Hospitals * Movie Theaters * Malls * Houses of Worship * Forth of July Parades * Bowling Alleys * Supermarkets * Public Parks * Restaurants * Children's Parties * Mass Transit * Hair Salons * Sporting Events * Street Fairs * Yoga Studios * Doctors Offices * Homes * Concerts * Dance Halls/Clubs * Colleges * Holiday Parties * Banks * Bars * Hiking Trails * Post Offices * Nursing Homes... I could go on, the list is much longer, but I think you get my point. Unless they want their child to live a life that's so sheltered that it isn't much of a life at all, they have to do what they can... and the rest is up to fate.

Honestly, Ethan and Kaycee have the means that perhaps they discuss leaving this damn place and living someplace better. In the end, they would probably decide against that too, because their family & their friends are here. But I think they may be very tempted at times.

But the bottom line is - the only way to keep her truly safe would be to put her in a bunker and never let her see the light of day - and they would not want that for their child. So, yes, their decision absolutely stands.
