The thing that a lot of American vegans dont understand is that vegan food that tries to imitate meat(Impossible burger, veggie 'chicken nuggets') sucks because its NOT meat, it doesnt taste like meat, we all know this, but its till sold as being indistinguishable from meat(even though it totally isnt)
Vegetarian/vegan dishes are best when they arent pretending to be or taste like meat: Mushroom risotto, eggplant parm, falafel, grape leaf rolls, drunken noodles(yea they can be served with meat, but often arent), pretty much any paneer dish from india(yea okay not vegan). All delicious and not one of them is claiming to taste like meat(because they dont)

Superyacht in Heroism
Kanagawa, Japan
The most impressive and expensive superyacht in the world was the Shīarukadia, clocking in at hundreds of billions of dollars, nearing even a trillion. It was garrisoned by Miura Beach in Kanagawa. There was much to do in this astronomical-sized superyacht, and it was left to the heroes of the world, but most notably to those in Asia. Not to say that there aren't heroes from other places in the superyacht that aren't present in Shīarukadia, for Classic Order soldiers have gathered about as well, who are true heroes from America in Fumiko's eyes.
Of course, there were heroes from Japan, and those from China, India, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand. Even those from France, England, and America.
Shīarukadia was beautiful and astonishing-looking in every single way. The lights, overall aesthetic and design of it was a commission that Hiroshi Arai, who hosted this party, that he hoped to turn out most incredibly, and was a true success.
Meanwhile, in the dead center of Shīarukadia, where the dining room, arcade, coffee shop and tea stores were, Fumiko and her translator approached a young heroine from Long Island, New York, U.S.A. named Rowena Titterington, who seemed to be enjoying some water, sauteed mushrooms, fries and a medium-rare kobe beef ribeye by her own table in the dining room. Rowena grinned with utmost happiness upon tasting another bite of the kobe beef.
Tumblr media
"[sign language]: The Sawblade Maestro, I hope your meal has been immaculate~"
With the translations given, Rowena nodded with a grin of her own, although not quite as angelic as Fumiko.
"Yes! This is.. mmph!.. so good!.."
"[sign language]: That is wonderful."
Classic Order soldiers around her were having good small talk as a group, some heroes walked on by, and a waitress poured in some more water for Rowena.
Fumiko only hoped for the best for everyone in this party!

Some of My Scrapped Punkflower Fics Pt. 2
Exactly what the title says, but I don't want to let these go to waste
Hobie is exhausted.
He tiptoes, softly closing the door behind him, but a quick scan of the dorm room tells him he needn’t have bothered. Gwen isn’t in her bed — in fact, there are the faint sounds of water hitting tiles, coming from the washroom. Showering, then.
Not too bad an idea, especially after a grueling media ethics class. It’s already well into the evening, so he sets his messenger bag on his bed and calls, “Don’t use all of the hot water!” His roommate yells back a vague affirmative.
Hobie’s stomach growls, and he goes to check the fridge. Empty, as usual, save for a muffin from the dining hall. A search through the cupboards comes up with two cups of instant noodles.
It’s not exactly hearty, but it’ll do.
They eat on crisscross on the carpet, splitting the muffin. Gwen’s hair is dripping wet and smells like coconut shampoo. She spends most of it on her phone typing, probably the paper for their shared journalism class, one Hobie doesn’t even have a thesis for yet. It’s due the day after tomorrow. He might have to copy hers.
“Have the people next door finished moving in?” He asks instead.
She looks up. “Nope,” she says, popping the P. “I can’t believe they’re doing it in the middle of the year.”
Their dorm manager said one of them was an exchange student from India, like Hobie from England, and the other was simply moving campuses to be closer to home for the holidays. They would all have to start sharing the washroom soon.
He shrugs, deciding to leave it at that, all the while hoping for the best.
Later, hot water raining down on his lithe form, Hobie thinks he’s still a bit hungry. Frankly, it’s a familiar feeling — heavy limbs and a full-but-not-quite stomach — but there’s not much to do about it, other than mentally make a grocery list for tomorrow, dry off, then succumb to sleep.
The next day, Hobie is able to buy pasta, sauce, mushrooms, and milk. He has to forgo anything fancy, like olive oil or cheese, to not go over budget. He figures he’ll have dinner ready for Gwen when her psychology class ends in fifteen minutes. The pasta is boiling, and he’s jotting down his thesis when there’s a knock on the door.
He doesn’t know who he expects. Definitely not the cutest boy he’s ever seen.
And yet.
Dark curls frame wide amber eyes and a soft, curved nose. It’s slightly pink from the cold, even in the warm hall. Full lips, shiny with what must be spit, slightly part as if in surprise Hobie opened the door so fast. One hand rises in a tentative wave. Hobie immediately wants to hold it.
“I’m Miles,” the beautiful boy says. “We just moved in here. Figured we’d say hi.”
Only then does Hobie realize there’s another person. “Pavitr,” he introduces himself. In his hands are reusable grocery bags, packed to the brim.
“Brilliant. I’m Hobie.”
Pavitr peeks over his shoulder. “What’ve you got cooking, Hobie?”
“Oh. Um, just pasta.”
“Just pasta?” His eyes are lit with a fire difficult to name. “What about sauce? Vegetables?”
This strangely feels like an interrogation. “Mushrooms. And um…” What was it again? “Alfredo.”
“Is that it? We’ve got garlic and onions — let us help.”
Suddenly Pavitr pushes past him in the doorway, Miles close behind. “Sorry,” the latter says, not at all sounding like it, but the smile on his face dissipates all of Hobie’s qualms. “He loves to cook.”
That much is obvious in the way Pavitr moves about the kitchen, especially in one as small as theirs, confident and fluid. He skillfully eyeballs the amount of milk and olive oil — where did that come from? — in the sauce and readily makes use of both their groceries.
Miles is no different. Mincing the garlic and sautéing the onions takes him little effort. He tosses the delicately sliced mushrooms into the mix, and adds the finishing touches: shredded parmesan, basil, and spinach.
It’s easily the best thing Hobie has ever eaten. His hunger from yesterday is nothing more than distant memory, a near forgotten ache in lieu of rich cream, fresh herbs, and perfectly chewy fettuccine. He cleans his plate and Pavitr and Miles gracefully leave the leftovers when they retire to their own dorm.
Needless to say, Hobie is smitten.
This one I will possibly finish, but I got really hungry writing it
Both Hobie and Gwen are journalism majors

May 2023 Reading Wrap-Up
In the month of May I read 8 books and had 1 dnf. This month was fairly middle-of-the-road for me, with a couple of disappointments, and a couple good books. My average rating was 3.8/5 stars, and I read mostly fantasy, with 1 sci-fi and 1 romance.
1.The Mark of Athena (Heroes of Olympus 3) by Rick Riordan 4/5 stars. I continued by reread of the HoO series this month with book 3. Annabeth is honestly one of my favorite characters of all time, and the ending of this book is just the worst best thing ever. read on audio.
2.A Lady for A Duke by Alexis Hall, 4/5 stars. This is a queer regency romance with a trans main character. This book was delightful, sweet, and worth the 450 pages. I really enjoyed the premise and set up of this story, and I thought everything was handled and executed very well. Queer, regency romance.
3.A Marvellous Light (The Last Binding 1) by Freya Marske, 3/5 stars. This is a queer fantasy romance set during the Edwardian era England. I was a little disappointed in this, but I think I went into this book with super high expectations, and they weren't quite met. I feel very indifferent to the meta plot of this series, and I'm not sure I plan on continuing. Queer, historical fantasy romance.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
4.The Mimicking of Known Successes by Malka Ann Older (DNF) This was the only book I dnf'd this month, and while I don't think this is a bad book by any means, it just wasn't for me. This is a queer sci-fi Sherlockian mystery set on a colony of Jupiter. It leans heavy into the Sherlock vibes, and it just wasn't my cup of tea. I also didn't love the audiobook narrator. Queer sci-fi mystery.
5.Empire of Sand by Tasha Suri 3/5 stars. This was also a disappointment for me. I liked this story, but it was not what I was entirely expecting, and I felt like this book never lived up to what I wanted it to be. I was expecting something like The City of Brass but got The Wrath and the Dawn instead. Not bad, just not what I was expecting. Ancient India, fantasy romance.
6.Bloodmarked (Legendborn 2) by Tracey Deonn, 5/5 stars. This was my only 5 star book this month, and I liked this even better than the first book. Now that we got a lot of the exposition and worldbuilidng done in book 1, I thought this even better and this is shaping up to be a new favorite series. I can't wait to see what the next book brings!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
7.The House of Hades (Heroes of Olympus 5) by Rick Riordan 4/5 stars. This is probably my favorite book of the HoO series, and this has many favorite scenes. The Percy and Annabeth chapters of this are just *so* good.
8.Untethered Sky by Fonda Lee 4/5 stars. This is a fantasy novella about Ruks and their handlers'. This book is about loving something that can't love you back, and knowing that one day you will have to let that go. I think I'll enjoy anything Fonda Lee writes, and she manages to create an emotional, impactful, detailed story in under 200 pages. I really enjoyed this novella, and the world building, story, and craft that went into this story really shines. It's bittersweet, and I really felt the emotional impact of this story.
9.Entangled Life: How Fungi make our worlds, change our minds & shape our futures by Merlin Sheldrake. This was my nonfiction this month, and I enjoyed this book all about fungi and mushrooms. I learned a lot, but I also have many more questions, and a new appreciation for fungi.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next month I'm hoping to tacke and binge two series, as well as read the final HoO book.

To all muses:
What characteristics do you value the most in a romantic and/or sexual partner?
What would be a complete turnoff?
What is your favourite vegetable?
Ophelia thought for a moment, Running a hand through her hair. "I'm not exactly looking for anyone specific. If my heart falls to someone then that will be what happens. Though if they eat with their mouth open, that is a turn off." She offered softly. "Its strange you ask about vegetable, but it is pepper, specifically red pepper."
I like someone who can manhandle me and put me in my place. If you want to be sexual with me, you have to be willing to deal with a brat. Romantic wise, they need to go on adventures with me. Nilo had a playful smirk on his face. He knew what he was like in relationships and always thought it best to warn people. Turn off is if they brag about how good they are in bed and think they're like God. He didnt need to think long about the vegetable question. I like mushrooms. I enjoy foraging for them.
Chester raised an eyebrow at the question. "Are you trying to figure out which one of us is the one you'd suit. Avocado. Ideally I'd want a sugar daddy or mummy, but mostly someone who will look after me and understand me. A turn off is if they try to force me back to my old life or ignore my oral fixation."
"You wouldn't reach my standards. My sexual partners need to know their place. I'm not interested in a romantic partner. I have no need for one." Calix huffed like his time was being wasted. "A turnoff is asking too many questions and being too needy." He paused, eyes narrowing. "You don't need to know about my favourite vegetable. The above information is too much anyway."
Sonny was fiddling to a fidget toy, not really paying attention to what was going on when it became his turn. "Huh, what. Oh what I look for. Acceptance, silliness and fun in the bedroom. Turn off if you try to fix me. I'm not broken. I'm just different. Vegetable is asparagus cause its like a little sword. Or brocoli cause mini trees." He chuckled.
"A bit like Nilo, I want someone who will put me in my place and live up to the challenge. They also need some intelligence to them and can handle themselves when impressing my colleagues." Ronnie came out with as she looked up at the person. "My favourite vegetable is beetroot. Not sure why you're asking that though."
Georgie frowned as if trying to suss the questions out first. "I want someone to fill the void." She didn't offer any further explanation to that. "Someone into feet or only cares for their pleasure." Again no further explanation was offered. "Chilli pepper."
"If you are what I'm looking for you'll know. Same as if you're not what I'm looking for. But I don't know you so I'm not telling you." Fletcher grumbled before walking off refusing to answer the question.
Bea was smiling at the question, for her that was a rare thing to be asked. "Someone who is patient and understands my situation. I can't help being what I am. And being in a relationship with a Succubus isn't easy. It's a turn off if they only want me for sex and nothing else. I personally prefer fruit to vegetables but I enjoy cucumber."
India took a deep breath. "Sweetie, I'm married. I'm not exactly looking at anyone. Nor do I wish to discuss my turn offs." It was purely to protect her image. However she was looking for someone that made her heart flutter and was willing to show her more about the side of the bedroom she longed to explore. "Snap sugar peas, I like to snack on them between shows."
Francis shook his head. "Its a bit hard for me to find a romantic partner given that they will eventually pass before I do. Sexual wise, ah you see darling, it all depends on mood. Whether I was a sweet thing at my feet or a big powerful domiant to drive me crazy." He purred. "Are you you offering self, darling or just a little curious?" He leaned forward with a smirk. "To answer your last strange question, but hey each to their own. It is artichoke."
Robin smiled sweetly before looking up. "I like someone I can have fun with, feel all fuzzy when around them and makes me feel the most special someone." Robin took a deep breath. "Turn of is being like my first boyfriend. I will run the other way in fact." The final question was like he'd been sworn at and he had to do everything to not pull a face. "Vegetables are icky."
"I want my mate. I'll know who they are when I meet them, my wolf will know. As long as they are right then I don't care who they are. Sexually, I want someone who will have me as their pup." There was almost a romantic sigh as Timothy got lost in his thoughts then. "I like a carrot."

Benefits of permanent makeup and how it is different from Tattoo
Tumblr media
Eyebrows? Check, Lip blush? Check, Eyeliner? Check. And you are now photo ready for next 1 to 2 years.  Wait? What? Yes you heard it right. You just saved 40 precious hours on Makeup this year and still managed look better than ever 24*7. No Kidding, Permanent Makeup comes to the rescue for all the beautiful busy bees out there who can’t be bothered with putting makeup 3 times a day. You won’t lose your diva confidence after a sweaty gym session, a long date night nor you have to worry about pool parties. Permanent makeup has your back (I mean face). Spoiler Alert: Despite the name, The results last 2 to 4 years depending on skin type & lifestyle
PMU ie Permanent makeup is known by many names which are essentially its subcategories like Microblading for perfectly shaped eyebrows, Lip Blush for rosy looking Lips excellent to correct dark pigmented lips to a natural baby lip form, Semi Permanent Eyeliner, Lash Enhancement for the Kohl rimmed eyes etc. All the techniques involve application of medical grade pigments on the first layer of skin in a highly sophisticated manner so that it looks like part of your natural anatomy.
There is now a gradual rise of Studios & Artists mushrooming across the country, a few well trained but most others are questionable. One needs to be extremely careful and find extremely experienced artists, as it requires sophisticated training coupled with heavy duty experience, extreme clinical hygiene, and scientific tool kit set up to ensure safe and highly aesthetic work that you can cherish for years.
One such studio which is highly frequented by B-town celebs is The BrowMaster Permanent Makeup Studio by Ashmi Singhai. Ashmi is Diamond certified permanent makeup trainer accredited by American Academy of Micropigmentation (AAM), The highest global recognition for Permanent Makeup Trainers. Ashmi is 15 times internationally certified for diverse PMU procedures and has been awarded the best amongst the many PMU artists across India by Indian Leadership Conclave awards. You can know all about PMU treatments in more detail on www.thebrowmaster.net  or simply visit her droolworthy beautiful Instagram https://www.instagram.com/browmasters_studio/
Tumblr media
Does it Look like Tattoo??
According to Ashmi, Unlike the face tattoos in 80s & 90s that looked too obvious, lacked precision and aged in funny colours, well trained permanent makeup artists can offer hyper natural results. The Lip blush looks so natural that even if your friend touches and scrutinises your lips, they can’t tell that the secret is permanent makeup. ! How cool is that!!
The pigments used in Permanent makeup are not the ones used in tattooing and can stay truer to the intended colour like Browns or Blacks. Secondly many people believe that PMU is as painful as tattoos which is also not true, Tattoo is worked in the third layer of skin which is why it lasts a lifetime, whereas PMU goes only in the first layer. High quality PMU machines used by premium artists are much softer and gentler on the skin.
Is it Completely safe??
Ashmi Says : In the hands of highly experienced quality professionals, Permanent Makeup can be completely safe. Hence the most important factor is investing time in finding the best artist.
Are they certified?
Are they doing PMU for ATLEAST 2 years or more?
How many clients have they done?
Are there enough pictures on their instagram that look like their own original works?
Do they have a sterile clinical facility to perform skin deep procedures?
Are they giving you all the precare and aftercare instructions properly?
Zoom in &  Analyse their work pictures in microscopic detail and objectively observe differences in every artist’s style. For Example: Some artists make all eyebrows look similar with arches at the same position for all clients irrespective of their bone structure and make every eyebrow look very dark. Go for a versatile artist who can create a variety of work customised to their clients requirement.
Skip going to Hair Salons or Nail bars or Lash artists whose primary work is something else as they lack adequate experience, focus & knowledge required  for the safest PMU. Prefer finding a PMU exclusive artist whose work is only permanent makeup as they are highly likely to have best equipment, knowledge and intense experience in a focused field.
Is it Very Expensive?
When it comes to permanent changes to your face, do not price shop for a great deal as in the long term this can cost you your peace of mind with your face being compromised. With a reputable artist you might be paying a premium price but it would be something you would cherish  for many years whereas with the wrong one, you will have no choice but to regret & repent every day. The corrections, changes or removals of permanent makeup is neither simple nor easy or cheap  hence its imperative that you do it with utmost care instead of trying to save a couple thousands. Depending on your city and your artists experience, It can cost you anywhere between 15000 for a safe & decent job to 50000 for a luxury experience with the best customer service.
How to find good Artists:
A thorough hashtag search on instagram is the best way to begin your search for good artists in your country. Once you figure out a few best names, head over to their website to gather a sense of their depth in PMU.  It’s worth travelling to another city rather than settling with someone locally available to ensure a regret free experience.  If you can’t find a satisfactory level of work in your own city as PMU is still relatively new in India, you can consider travelling to your choice of artist in Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad where PMU is quite popular already. Do hashtag search on instagram like #microbladingmumbai, #lipblushindia, #permanentmakeupmumbai, #Permanenteyelinerindia  to browse and compare from the works of many artists.
The pmu procedures are average 2 to 3 hours long and usually dont require more than 2 sessions which can be scheduled in a gap of 1 to 2 months
What if it Hurts?: Pain is something that varies widely from person to person but pain management again boils down to choosing a rightly experienced artist. According to Ashmi at The BrowMaster Studio “Many of my clients doze off during the eyebrow procedure and some even snore loudly”. The good artists know how to work with topical numbing ointments for the best experience and results. You are bound to experience more pain in the hands of less experienced providers.
To put it as a friendly advice, When done properly with perfect precare & aftercare, Most women are absolutely thrilled with the results and it becomes one of the best decisions of their lives as they wake up to a gorgeous face in the mirror.
Futuristic Trends in PMU by BrowMaster Studio:
BrowMasters studio has taken one step ahead by introducing Areola Enhancement & Scalp Micropigmentation. Areola Enhancement- a very recent concept that aims at improving the appearance of nipples. For people who have irregular/fading/dark nipples, have scars /have undergone surgery or are not happy with the colour of their nipples – this is the perfect and safe solution. This technique can create or restore the nipples to an aesthetic-looking shape & colour with semi-permanent makeup.
Scalp Micropigmentation : a quick fix procedure to hide bald patches, or to create an effect of Buzz cut on someone who is completely bald. Hair Loss has a huge impact on people’s confidence levels. Getting a quick fix solution is a life saviour when you don’t have to wait for the results.

In this article, we'll take you on a tour through the diverse and delicious offerings of top Indian eateries, ensuring your next visit is nothing short of exceptional.
Appetisers: A Flavorful Start
Classic Indian Starters
A great Indian meal begins with an array of appetisers that set the tone for what's to come. At the best Indian restaurants near you, expect to find classics such as samosas and pakoras. These golden, crispy treats are filled with a variety of ingredients, from spiced potatoes and peas in samosas to mixed vegetables or cheese in pakoras. These starters are perfect for sharing and are often accompanied by a selection of chutneys, including tangy tamarind and fresh mint.
Innovative Twists on Traditional Appetisers
Many top-tier Indian restaurants elevate the traditional appetiser by adding a modern twist. You might encounter dishes like tandoori prawns, marinated in a blend of spices and grilled to perfection, or stuffed mushrooms with a spicy, herby filling. These creative variations not only pay homage to classic flavours but also introduce new, exciting tastes that keep diners coming back for more.
Main Courses: A Symphony of Flavours
Signature Curries and Main Dishes
The heart of any Indian dining experience lies in its main courses. At the best Indian restaurants, you'll find a rich selection of curries, each offering a unique flavour profile. Butter chicken and lamb rogan josh are perennial favourites, known for their creamy, spiced sauces that complement perfectly cooked meats. For a vegetarian option, palak paneer and chana masala provide hearty, flavour-packed alternatives.
Regional Specialties
One of the joys of dining at top Indian restaurants is exploring regional specialties. From the aromatic biryanis of Hyderabad to the spicy curries of Kerala, these dishes showcase the diverse culinary traditions of India. Be sure to try regional delights like Goan fish curry or Rajasthani laal maas for a taste of the unique ingredients and techniques that define Indian cuisine.
Breads and Sides: The Perfect Accompaniments
Artisan Indian Breads
No Indian meal is complete without a selection of breads. The best Indian restaurants often serve a variety of freshly baked breads such as naan, roti, and paratha. Whether you prefer a buttery garlic naan or a flaky, stuffed paratha, these breads are perfect for scooping up curries and soaking up sauces. Each type of bread offers a different texture and flavour, enhancing your overall dining experience.
Flavourful Sides
In addition to breads, Indian meals are typically accompanied by a range of sides. Raita, a cooling yoghurt-based dish with cucumber and spices, helps balance the heat of spicy curries. Dal, or lentil dishes, provide a comforting, protein-rich complement to main courses. Pickles and papadams add an extra layer of flavour and crunch, making every bite a delight.
Desserts: A Sweet Finale
Traditional Indian Sweets
To end your meal on a high note, indulge in some traditional Indian desserts. Gulab jamun, deep-fried dough balls soaked in a sweet syrup, and rasgulla, soft cheese balls in a light syrup, are classics that never fail to satisfy. Kheer, a creamy rice pudding flavoured with cardamom and garnished with nuts, offers a soothing, sweet finish to your meal.

Many fine dining Indian restaurants are also known for their innovative desserts.
