REVIEW: Is Wrestling Fixed? I Didn’t Know It Was Broken! - From Photo Shoots and Sensational Stories to the WWE Network - My Incredible Pro Wrestling Journey! and Beyond … (2015)
A Book by Bill Apter I know I just write blog recaps of local wrestling shows, but if there’s one thing I strive to do in this small sliver of the wrestling business, it’s to model myself after the legendary wrestling journalist Bill Apter. I’ve mentioned this a bit here and there, especially when talking with people in the business, but I absolutely despise so-called “dirt sheet” reporting. As…

I saw that Sheamus interview, and it's so dumb. They act like the Usos, and Roman haven't been busting ass in that company for over a decade. He's acting like the bloodline just always had all this time that was stolen from more deserving acts. No, Roman's PLE/PPVS weren't even main eventing when the TC gimick first started. Jey/Roman's HIAC was not the main event. Can you name any other match from that PPV? Nope. That's the point. They took the time and the spots they had, and they made it count. The stories were so good, the wrestlers so great that it got eyes on the product that had turned away from it for years, new eyescon the product overall and putting butts in seats, reflected in the rating, the sales and basically got WWE through the pandemic. They got the time because they earned the time. They get the time because the BL is what most people tune in for. So instead of bitching people should be thankful for how hot the product is, take advantage of the extra eyes the BL has brought to the brand and build something great as well with the time they have that catches on and earns that time too. Because id much rather watch a BL talking segment, then Theory and Sheamus again, and WWE knew that too.
Hayes speaking with Bill Apter during an interview a few years ago, said that wrestlers have to be able to do something that actors can't do, which is attract people attention in seconds.
Sometimes they have in ring promos, other times backstage promos, anyway, they don't last long but in that short time they have to do the impossible. It was like this twenty years ago, it is like this today and only now things are changing, they are changing because there are more channels to understand what wrestlers do outside the arenas, there are social, TV interviews, podcasts and all. But inside this business, the Bloodline made a revolution… nobody had more than ten minutes with a mic before Roman. And if now he stands there and talks for eight hours, his co-workers should honestly thank him. Not because it's him, lets be clear, but because maybe one day those young talents for which Sheamus spoked, will have the same chance. The big changes are also these, not only what people think are.
That man had dog food thrown at him until he was tired and the Tribal Chief was his last shot. He decided he wanted to explain who he was, that he wanted to give people more and within months he convinced everyone in WWE that it worked. He convinced them, not blackmailed them thanks to his family. His reign wasn't supposed to last that long, but he was so good to make them bet on him and buy anything.
With this power gained, he certainly had more visibility, more opportunities, but the unprofessional attitude, it's not his, but whoever blame him and his family, because the WWE doesn't build the other characters well. There are people, even young talents who are working hard to build their characters in very short time, week after week and who are getting reactions from the crowd. Roman was someone before the Tribal Chief run, maybe people hated him, maybe he had few fans, but he worked and hit rock bottom with something that the company had built for him. If one of his ideas is now successful for him and his whole family, one that is also opening a new chapter for wrestlers and wrestling, no one shouldn't blame him or claim to have the same just because that chapter now exists. Because when he was the Big Dog and like Sheamus says, no one wanted him because he sucked, I don't remember anyone complaining about wanting to tell their story… because back then the story was just banger after banger after banger after banger.

Roman Reigns should have a massive rematch against former WWE Champion, according to Hall of Famer (Exclusive)
Bill Apter wants Seth Rollins to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Night of Champions 2023 and then set up a rematch against Roman Reigns. While The Tribal Chief has stood tall over all the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship challengers, Rollins is an anomaly on the list. When The Messiah challenged Reigns at Royal Rumble 2022, The Bloodline leader refused to release Rollins from…
