Bill Cobbs was one of Hollywood’s most prolific character actor. He appeared in both film and television and stole every scene that he appeared in.

Born Wilbert Francisco Cobbs on June 16, 934 in Cleveland,Ohio. He passed away on June 25, 2024, at the age of 90 years young.

Before acting he in the United States Air Force as a radar technician. In 1970, at the age of 36, he left for New York to seek work as an actor. He supported himself with a multitude of jobs as he worked towards his dream, his big break.

He also played Lewis Coleman on I'll Fly Away (1991–1993), Jack on The Michael Richards Show (2000), and had guest appearances on Walker, Texas Ranger and The Sopranos. In 2012, he had a reoccurring role as George in the sitcom, Go On. The Color of Money (1986). Fast Eddie Felson teaches a cocky but immensely talented protégé the ropes of pool hustling, which in turn inspires him to make an unlikely comeback.

Paul Newman truly is That Actor - boundless charisma and an undeniable screen presence - he always delivers, and does so again here. He actually pairs really well both with Tom Cruise, who's playing the ingenue here in a kinda fun role reversal, and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, who plays a woman hungry for a life bigger than the one she's ended up with. It's got some great and tense action sequences too, and is just overall a pretty fun sports film. 8/10.
