Autumn must be round the corner as the berries are ripening on the Sorbus aucuparia (rowan, mountain ash) but fortunately there is a bit more summer to come as the pinnate green leaves have not started turning red or yellow.

The online pet store where I order food and stuff for my birds actually had these Christmas-decorated treat sticks and I had to get them... 8 sticks in total. Although I rarely give them sugary treats, today is an exception. 😌🎉

Making a vertical feature by this bench was the biennial Dipsacus fullonum (common teasel). The flowers are covered with tiny blue flowers that are popular with pollinators and the plant structure remains throughout winter making the seedheads attractive to birds, especially goldfinches.
