Red Sentinel
They are also called "crab apples". I love how small they are! They look like cherries! <3

Hello Tumblr! I'm not much for posting things, usually just explore the tags I like, but I do enjoy photography as a very amateur hobby. We got our first snow of the year yesterday and I noticed how beautiful our crab apple tree was, so I guess this will be my first post! All I have is a phone camera and binoculars, so whatever I rarely post won't be professional or even close to high quality for now, but I want to start somewhere and practice.
If you decide to follow me, do be warned, this is just a small hobby for the time being and I don't have a schedule for posting. The next post could be tomorrow or a few months from now. The name of my blog, TheRachiVerse, basically means that I haven't settled on a particular subject to post about, so it may change if I settle on something like photography. For now, I like the flexibility that the name has to offer.
Hope you enjoy :)
Edit: I now have a telefoto lens for my phone so the pictures will be better but still not very good. Think I've settled on photography, (mostly birds) as the subject for this blog. May or may not eventually change the blog name 🙃

Tavern’s Beauty
She stepped into view
And the men turned their heads
Their dates all but forgotten
They stared unabashed
Golden-brown hair tumbled
Out from its clasp
Skin a glowing brown
Cheeks a healthy pink
Undaunted by their stares
Her simple lined dress
Brought out her form
It swayed around her feet
It looked like she was
Floating on fog
Amongst the tavern no sound was heard
They all had stopped their talking
Saw behind her creep
A man who’s clothes
Contrasted her own
And they knew he was stalking
Stalking, stalking
They knew he was stalking their own
Out came the guns
And out game the knives
And out came the angry voices
The men of the tavern
Would rescue their own
The men would not leave
Their love alone
Their beauty stood still
Their beauty stood silent
As a knife flashed around her throat
She awaited the blow
That would let her go
Walk down glory road
Her crisp white dress
Of morning fog
Was stained by a drop of blood
As down fell crimson
Crimson, crimson
Down fell the crimson blood of their own
A shot rang out
And the man fell back
With a thud he hit the floor
But the tavern men
Couldn’t save their own
She fell with her stalker
To the floor
And died in her own bloody gore
Silver sliver in her throat
Her foggy dress did not float
As the tavern men realized
The stalker had stolen
Stolen, stolen
The stalker had stolen their own

let’s dance under the crabapple tree, to the hum of buzzing insects sipping nectar from the fallen fruits, that slowly soften in the sun. lesions darken on ripe skin. sour pulp squishes under our naked feet.
