BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War - The Separation episode 4 review
Gotta love how at the beginning of the episode Bambiette's girlfriends were trash-talking about her...such a 'lovely' friendship they've, wouldn't you agree?
Anyway, seeing Bambiette's maniac pleasure in destroying things and trying to destroy Shinji, Momo, and Sajin somehow made me smile. I don't know, but the fact she seemed to be so thrilled when her 'bombs' landed and how pretty those were? There was almost something poetically beautiful in that whole thing. Then again, Bambiette's reckless (stupid) nature is something I really dig as there is almost this murder-like child glee in her...
And yes! Finally! We got to see our handsome wolfman as a man! Though, just like Bambiette I felt a bit disappointed. After all, doggies (yes, I know Komamura is a wolf, but calling him 'doggy' isn't that far off, considering thanks to the evolution once upon a time dogs too were wolves...so, in a way, Komamura went backward with his new technique?) are much cuter~.
I kind of wish we would have learned more about the whole ordeal behind Komamura's clan. What exactly were his people (in the past?) do, that made it so, they had to live in shadows? Not to mention, the way Komamura's grandfather speaks, implies once upon a time they were all humans? So, what kind of 'sin' they committed, that made it so, they were turned into beasts? And it seems that cycle hasn't been able to break, because Komamura too was in his beast form... not to mention, I'm now wondering if given enough time, would Komamura one day turn out to be as big as his grandfather? Or, because he used Jinka Technique (basically used up all his powers), it's impossible. After all, before that he was a werewolf, but now he is just a small wolf...so yeah. A lot of questions, which I kind of hoped would have gotten answered or at least touched one more.
They really went with Komamura's Bankai 'this is GCI, take it or leave it'. Kinda impressive that they didn't even try to tone down that fact, but at the same time...I don't know. His Bankai looked okay in the manga, but now...it's an artistic style choice and easier to animate like that, I get it, but even so...it personally wasn't my cup of cacao. But at least the fight between Komamura and Bambiette was a very good one. I bet if they had animated his Bankai differently, doing Bambiette's flying attacks around it would have been trickier to pull. But at least now it went smoother till the end.
Bambiette's biggest mistake against Komamura was her fear that he managed to install in her. Then again...most living beings are scared of death, so it was somewhat natural Bambiette would freak out when she found out Komamura was like a dead-dead. I mean, aren't all shinigami technically dead? But because we see them walking, talking, etc. it gives this illusion of them being 'alive', but...they really aren't. They're like echoes of living that can bleed. Hmm. Then again, Komamura could be different, because he is a werewolf. Or not. Like, where goes the line between being shinigami and not being one goes? Does having an education that allows you to use Zanpakuto make you shinigami? Because Komamura's grandfather seemed to view Komamura as not being one of them, but in the end he was? Because of his "wolf spirit". So yes. Where does the line between being shinigami and non-shinigami (not soul in this case) go? After all, I feel like Komamura blurred that line and in the end owned both 'worlds' if we can talk about 'worlds'...
Even so, it doesn't make it any less sad Komamura turned into a tiny wolf in the end. He gambled it all and managed to take down only one Quincy. Now imagine his transformation had lasted much longer? Yeah, he would have belonged to those big threats Yhwach warned his Sternritters about.
Komamura's whole little arc was very emotional and I feel like despite the fact his grandfather 'helped' him, in the end, his grandfather also used Komamura. (This could explain why Komamura's grandfather is so big and old because by eating other werewolf's heart/revenge/soul, he manages to keep going on and grows bigger.) But like Komamura realized, the path of revenge will only lead to one's destruction. His lieutenant's words sounded almost hollow when he tried to reassure Komamura. But, maybe this truly is Komamura's clan's curse? The need for revenge, but against whom or what? Because Komamura's revenge was to avenge Yamamoto's death...and shinigami aren't above such things as revenge, so what made Komamura's clan so special they were consumed by the werewolf curse? Because they were willing to burn so brightly for their revenge?
Somehow, this whole episode was about Komamura, even though there were little parts about others here and there. Next time...hmm, I wonder if we'll see Rose and Kensei against that Superstar and those two 'mysterious' lights. Manga readers will know what those are~.
Oh my gosh, that ending! I just loved, loved that ending clip of Senjumaru waiting for Ichigo! She looked absolutely stunning, in the middle of her clothes, with a wicked smile on her lips.
My my. What does she indeed want about little Ichigo? ;D
Also, did Ichigo just become Soul King's spare vessel in case of emergency? ^^'

BLEACH: The Thousand Year Blood War Ep 17 Reactions and Thoughts
Overall reaction:
Tumblr media
I must admit, I don't have much to say about this one. There were only three main events, and two of them I really liked.
Highlights:
Theory confirmed!: it was a theory everyone and their mother had, but it was still nice to get confirmation. So, Ichigo got glimpses of Reio's past, and more or less showed he has the power/ability to become the next Reio. Considering that the manga more or less skips over Ichigo's development after the attention turns back to the Soul Society, this additional content is welcomed for me. I looked forward to seeing what he'll have to do with Senjumaru (I assume they'll have a scene with the two of them). MY GIRL IS BACK: and she has some awesome gifs of her:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After so many years, seeing Momo for more then a minute was so great! And of course, she can LIFT! I'll admit, i laughed the first time I saw her pick up Shinji and carry him off, but now, I'm glad a fandom headcanon about her being hella strong got confirmed. Sajin vs Bambietta: talk about emotional! This was a fantastic adaption, and one that reminded me of what I came to really like about Sajin. Back when he fought Tosen, he looked down on his former friend seeking revenge for the sake of another. Tosen sought revenge against the Soul Society for not giving justice for his dead friend and letting the killer walk away unscathed. He transformed himself, both internally and then externally with his Ressureccion form, which was essentially a power up. In doing so, he gained sight for the first time in his life, and ended up calling Sajin 'ugly' because of his appearance; however, in his dying moments, wanted to see Hisagi's face, but was unable to do so. In the current fight, Sajin went through both the same and the opposite. He transformed into a human, but it was at the cost of handing his heart over to his Great Grandfather. He gained a power up that allowed him to defeat Bambietta, but as he was dying, he transformed back into a wolf, but into the form of an actual wolf. As he transforms and begins to lose himself, he reflects on how this is where revenge for Yamamoto has led him. Both men were out for revenge, and both gained something and lost something in return. For Tosen, he gained sight and immense power, but lost his life in the end because of Aizen, the man he chose to follow to complete his revenge quest. For Sajin, he gained immense power and stayed alive, but he lost his humanoid and beast man forms, unable to ever raise a sword or fight for the Soul Society ever again. He still has Iba, who as we saw is loyal to him through and through, but they can no longer fight together as equals. If I'm also not mistaken, I think it was said Sajin eventually loses his memories of being a Shinigami and currently lives in the woods? Correct me if I'm wrong. Gotta admit though, for all of the emotions this fight gives, I still can't ever how he looks as a human:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What a badass design! Overall, another adaption done right, and another character we have to say goodbye to. Seeing this actually makes me wonder if this was why Rindo Atau was picked to be Seventh Division's next lieutenant. With affinity towards animals, maybe he's able to summon Sajin to the Seventh Division?
So next episode, we have the, uh...beating fight of Rose and Knsei vs Mask de Mascuile. If nothing else, at least we'll get to see Rose's bankai animated, and hopefully they'll include some extra moments of these two at least showing off a little.

7: Favorite actor of the year? Jacob Anderson. My mind was blown, seeing Grey Worm from Game of Thrones turn into THIIIIIIIIS sexy AF vampire, WTF?
Tumblr media
8: Game of the year? God of War: Ragnarok. Only been waiting FOUR EFFING YEARS for the sequel.

11: Something you want to do again next year? Go to an anime convention.
12: Talk about a new friend you made this year. I met a nice girl in my Greek class who’s super sweet. We study together and spend most of the time fussing about how much we hate Greek. XD
13: How was your birthday this year? I don’t even remember. My Halloween was lovely though.
14: Favorite book you read this year? The only books I read lately are for school, and none of them are what I’d call favorites.

17: Post a picture from the end of the year:
Tumblr media

22: Favorite place you visited this year? My mom’s is the only place I ever travel to.
23: If you could send a message to yourself back on the first day of the year, what would it be? Get more sleep, idiot, and put the Pepsi down.
24: Did you keep any New Year’s Resolutions? Not really U_U I didn’t get around to doing any Dragon Age or Cyberpunk stuff this year. And I only did a little bit of the Untamed gameplay. The most headway I made was with Bleach, but I didn’t even finish the Substitute Arc--I really wanted to get to the Soul Society stuff.
25: Did you create any characters (in games, art, or writing) this year? Describe one: I REcreated plenty of sims from a bunch of new fandom INSP gameplays, including: Bleach, The Old Guard, Critical Role, and Interview with the Vampire. I think my favorite has been Caduceus from Critical Role.
Tumblr media
I had a lot of fun making him and his CC with all the mushrooms, and the lot I built for him, full of plants and stuff. So rarely do I indulge in High Fantasy, because it’s HARD to do fanciful gameplay--especially for MEN, since everything’s female-oriented in The Sims 3 communitty--unless I make the CC myself--which I hate doing. But I really wanted Caduceus in my game, so, alas.

Thanks for reading!
Happy Simming, and Happy New Year!

However, keep in mind that VIZ Media and Disney+ will be releasing details specific to each territory or region. The situation is so confusing that many fans have claimed they’ll be turning to pirate sites. Crazily enough, Bleach Season 17 Episode 1 was leaked on torrent sites a day before the international premiere. The Bleach Hulu USA release date is at 8:30 AM PST/12:30 PM EST on October 10, 2022.For international fans wanting to watch Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War streaming, there is a Bleach Season 17 Disney+ streaming deal. This exclusive streaming deal represents a huge move by the House of Mouse to take over part of the anime streaming market. On September 30, 2022, it was confirmed that Disney+ Canada was listing “Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War: Season 1” in the TV release schedule of the Disney+ Star section. However, Bleach wasn’t confirmed for Disney + USA since the US version of the streaming app doesn’t have Disney+ Star yet.The Bleach Disney+ UK release schedule hasn’t been announced. However, the first episode was released at 4:30 PM GB time but nothing is confirmed about a weekly schedule. It’s likely that new episodes will be streaming weekly in GB on Mondays. They really waited last minute to show BLEACH on Disney+UKGreat marketing.— JaymesHanson (@JaymesHanson) October 10, 2022Similarly, the Bleach Disney+ Australia release schedule hasn’t been officially announced. Regardless, Australian anime news reporters like Yonkou Productions have declared that the episode has been released in Oz at 2:30 AM GMT+11 (11:30 AM EST) on October 11, 2022. That should mean the land of Oz will be watching new Bleach 2022 episodes weekly on Tuesdays. As of October 10, 2022, Anime Geek hasn’t been able to confirm anything concerning streaming Bleach on Disney+ France, Germany, Spain, etc. The lack of information has jumpstarted rumors on Twitter that are claiming that much of Europe will not be simulcast. On October 9, 2022, it was confirmed that Disney+ Brazil is streaming the episodes.Unfortunately, the majority of Disney+ Latin America has been left in the dark. On October 10, 2022, the official Disney+ Help Twitter stated, “We still do not have any update about this title’s availability for Disney+ Latin America. But don’t forget to follow us on social media to catch up about future [announcements].” VIZ Media hasn’t provided any updates regarding Mexico, Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Chile, Columbia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Venezuela, and other Latin American countries.READ: Bleach Disney Plus, Hulu USA streaming deal confirmed: What it means for uncensored blood, weekly episode release scheduleTVアニメ『BLEACH 千年血戦篇』ショートPV:護廷十三隊/2022年10月10日テレビ東京系列ほかにて放送開始Watch this video on YouTubeThis Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War trailer highlights the 13 Court Guard Squads. On September 30, 2022, Crunchyroll removed all of the old Bleach episodes all the way up until Bleach Season 16 from its website, so it seems to be confirmed that Crunchyroll definitely won’t be streaming Bleach Season 17.During Aniplex Online Fest 2022 on September 24, 2022, the Bleach presentation showed off a new PV trailer based on Episode 1. They even teased audiences by talking about Americans watching Bleach, but there was no Disney+ confirmation or any specific streaming plans mentioned!TVアニメ『BLEACH 千年血戦篇』ショートPV:現世/2022年10月10日テレビ東京系列ほかにて放送開始Watch this video on YouTubeHowever, VIZ Media has specifically stated that Bleach Season 17 episodes will be “simulcast”, which means they will be released internationally on a weekly basis rather than being reserved for binge-watching. If we look to Disney+ exclusive Summer Time Render as an example, Disney+ Japan has been streaming episodes weekly but other countries received their dubbed version at later dates. English-speaking countries still haven’t received a single episode as of September 2022 and it’s suspected that the two-cour Summer Time Render anime will be released for binge-watching in those territories.Additionally, some fans have spread unwarranted fears that having Disney+ streaming Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War means that the blood and gore will be censored. Disney+ is already streaming R-rated titles. As such, Disney+ should be streaming Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War uncensored. Some lucky fans living in Japan were able to experience Bleach Season 17 early. One thousand fans got to experience an early premiere of the first two episodes on September 11, 2022.Viz Media has licensed the new anime for an English-language release. The Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War English dub release hasn’t been confirmed yet.Bleach’s final arc was initially confirmed to be in production as part of the Bleach 20th anniversary project. Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 17, 2021 reported that Bleach Season 17 will adapt the Thousand-Year Blood War story arc from the Bleach manga series by creator Tite Kubo, which means the anime will finish adapting the Bleach manga’s ending.Official Trailer #1 | BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War | VIZWatch this video on YouTubeOn April 21, 2022, Kubo announced, “I’ve decided on the opening and ending songs for the Anime!!! Great!!!” While it’s unusual for any manga creator have any say about the theme song music selection, this announcement gives anime fans an idea of just how involved Kubo is in the production of the final anime series. On September 11, 2022, it was announced that the Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War OP theme song music “Scar” will be performed by Tatsuya Kitani, while the ED “Saihate” will be performed by SennaRin.In June 2022, Kubo revealed an update on the progress of the Bleach anime return. The Bleach audio dubbing procedure is now ongoing according to Kubo. Although he did not say how far the audio recordings have progressed, voice actors are usually the last ones to touch an anime because the booth recording begins only once the main animation is finished. So, since the team is already recording their lines, Bleach must have completed a chunk of its episode order.Key visual for the upcoming anime Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War. Pic credit: VIZ MediaOn December 16, 2021, the latest Weekly Shonen Jump news leaked out, confirming that the new Bleach anime will start its broadcast in Fall 2022. The Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War release date time frame received an official confirmation during Jump Festa 2022, which took place on December 18 and 19, 2021.Besides the Bleach Season 17 announcement, Jump Festa 2022 contained announcements for Spy X Family, World Trigger, Jujutsu Kaisen, Dr. STONE, My Hero Academia, Chainsaw Man, Platinum End, and many other anime.A Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War trailer preview video was also released during the Jump Festa 2022 event.TVアニメ『BLEACH 千年血戦篇』ティザーPV/2022年10月放送開始Watch this video on YouTubeOn September 11, 2022, VIZ Media confirmed that the Bleach Season 17 release date was on October 10, 2022.The original Bleach anime ran from October 2004 through March 2012, ending with Episode 366 of Bleach Season 16. Presumably, Bleach’s new season will be called Bleach Season 17 and start with Bleach Episode 367.The number of Bleach 2022 episodes has not yet been announced. However, the Thousand-Year Blood War arc is hundreds of chapters in the manga, so that’s why the Bleach 2022 anime is 4 cours.A “cour” is a three-month TV broadcasting unit based on the physical seasons, and anime seasons usually have between 10 to 13 episodes per cour. That means there will be 52 new Bleach 2022 episodes. 『BLEACH 20th ANNIVERSARY』PROJECT PVWatch this video on YouTubeThe main staff and animation studio producing the Bleach 2022 anime season were announced during Jump Festa 2022.Studio Pierrot produced the original 16 seasons. Since they’re well-known for producing long-running anime series like the Black Clover anime (see our article on the Black Clover Season 4 anime), it’s not surprising that the  studio is returning to to produce Bleach’s new season.Bleach character designer Masashi Kudo and music composer Shiro Sagisuo are both returning. However, the biggest change to the main staff is that director Tomohisa Taguchi (Akudama Drive, Kino’s Journey) is replacing the previous director, Noriyuki Abe. The new director will also be handling the series composition writing. What’s more, there was a Bleach 2020 project that animates the Bleach: Burn The Witch story arc. Directed by Tatsuro Kawano (animation director for a season of the Psycho-Pass anime series), the Bleach OVA episode is being produced by animation company Studio Colorido. This article provides everything that is known about Bleach Season 17 (Bleach 2022 anime/Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War) and all related news. As such, this article will be updated over time with news, rumors, and analysis. Meanwhile, let’s delve down into what is known for certain.Bleach 2020 OVA episode adapts the Burn The Witch manga one-shotAnime fans were hoping that the Bleach 2020 announcement would launch Bleach’s new season quickly. The good news is that the anime is coming back relatively quickly for a Bleach OVA episode.Studio Colorido is producing the new episode for a 2020 release. The studio is best known for producing Pokemon: Twilight Wings. The studio is a subsidiary of Twin Engine, which owns the anime licensing rights to big names such as the Dororo anime and the Vinland Saga anime (see our Vinland Saga Season 2 anime article).Director Tatsuro Kawano was the animation director for Psycho-Pass 2. He was also the director for the fourth opening of the Boruto anime series.Bleach: Burn The Witch was a one-shot manga chapter that Kubo released in Shonen Jump back on July 16, 2018. It was Kubo’s first new Bleach manga chapter since August 2016.Originally, it was announced by Weekly Shonen Jump in mid-August 2020 that the Burn The Witch manga would only have four chapters, but then it was announced a week later that Burn The Witch Volume 1 would be released on October 2, 2020. Typically, if a manga series is only one volume it will be listed without a number.Viz Media will be digitally publishing the official English translation of the Burn The Witch manga.Screenshots from the Bleach: Burn The Witch anime. Pic credit: Studio ColoridoThe two main Bleach characters for this story are named Noel Niihashi and Spangle Niniii. They will be voiced by Japanese voice actors Yuina Yamada and Asami Tano, respectively.Set 12 years after the Quincy Blood War, Bleach: Burn The Witch told the story of two witches working for the Soul Society in Reverse London. In this world, dragons are real, and in the ancient past, caused the majority of deaths in London. The modern residents of London cannot see dragons, so it’s up to the people in Reverse London to control the dragons and protect the people from a fiery death. The Bleach: Burn The Witch OVA episode will be released in Japanese movie theaters and on streaming platforms the same day. Pic credit: Studio ColoridoBleach manga compared to the Bleach 2022 animeThe anime is based on the Bleach manga series by artist and writer Tite Kubo. Published in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2001 through 2016, the Bleach manga ended Volume 74 with Bleach Chapter 686.The official English translation of the Bleach manga was released by North American publisher VIZ Media. The English Bleach Volume 74 came out back in October 2018.The anime followed the manga’s story up until Episode 64 when multiple anime original story arcs were introduced in order to give Kubo more time to create new manga chapters. These filler episodes continued until Episode 110, but then the anime continued to rely on filler multiple times over the years.Episodes 128 through 137, Episodes 168 through 189, Episodes 230 through 265, and Episodes 311 through 342 were all filler. Needless to say, this amount of filler content is unusual for an anime series so reading the Bleach manga is like a different experience. The Bleach Season 16 anime finished by adapting the Lost Substitute Shinigami arc, which was covered by manga chapters 424 through 479.Bleach Season 17 anime will pick up with the Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War arc (also known as the Quincy arc), which includes chapters 480 through 686. Presumably, the anime will not overly rely on filler episodes this time around. Therefore, assuming that Bleach’s new season adapts the entirety of the story arc, the anime could adapt the Bleach manga’s ending. But it will take multiple seasons since we’re talking about over 200 chapters, which is almost a third of the entire manga. The good news is that English-only manga readers can read ahead right now. The bad news is that Bleach’s new season run will likely be the ending of the anime series unless a Bleach manga sequel is announced. The Bleach 2020 announcement of Bleach Season 17 in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine.
