Clear Sky: "My kingdom, your REAL dictator is back! I laid my life on the line to free you from the guy I let into the Clan against all warnings. It was the 2nd or 3rd worst mistake I've made in the past year and I vow I will spend the rest of the afternoon atoning. Yes, all of you are permanently scarred with the tyrant's tattoo and one of you died horribly of illness, but I've learned a valuable lesson and Petal was a woman anyway, so are you ready to accept my unquestionable authority again :3 ?"

Fighting demons every minute of every day. (<- Debating reading DOTC)

Note
I've recently REALLY attached myself to Clear Sky and Thunder from DotC because I've been rewriting the arc, and all the while, I have been experiencing a lot of really stressful things with my own father. I also feel connected with a semi-oc character I've written as a fusion of Bright Stream and Storm: Bright Storm, which was originally inspired by Bonefall, along with a lot of the foundations of my changes.
In my Rewrite Clear Sky's dad went missing and was never found. This was originally a Bonefall-inspired change, but now I feel deeply connected to it as my own thing because it's happening with my dad right now. He's been missing for over two months, and so far we've found nothing. Ive written Clear Sky to be sort of crushed by a feeling that nobody else cares, like his dad was brushed under the rug and forgotten, and i can share that feeling with him for somewhat more justifiable reasons from people around me.
Also in my Rewrite, Thunder feels a lot of disdain for Clear Sky for what he did to him and his mother, but can't help but grapple to the fantasy of a Good Dad and Happy Family, especially after him and himself nearly dying in that fire. I feel this really hard, and I added those feelings as a way of projecting, but I especially connect to it now that I know my dad could be gone for good after so long of never seeing him. Second, I wrote Thunder being disabled, just as Bonefall did, and I find the change really really important on that surface-level message against ableism, but I also write it as an analogy for being queer, and how i feel about my identity as such. This is because I wanted to be able to keep that message of yk don't be fucking ableist, but also include symbolic messages of homophobia and transphobia, because I refuse to just summon the actual issue out of thin air and make it a thing in my Rewrite.
Anyways, when it comes to Bright Storm herself, she's a bit of an outlier, because i dont relate her to me, i relate her to my mom, who fought with her relationship with my dad for years, getting in and out of it for her, my, and my siblings' sakes'. She seemingly also grappled with the idea of the Happy Family American Dream. I've written Bright Storm near the beginning of the books as being in that stage of confliction that my mom was when I was young (hopeful yet broken, and somewhat desperate), and over the arc she'll move on and recover just as my mom has, growing into herself and her confidence, and accepting she doesnt need Clear Sky, and doesnt have to forgive him for any reason, no matter how much he changes, because he still hurt her and her kit regardless. I see my own mother in her, so I'm really attached, there, too.
Basically what I'm saying is that while I feel really cringey about it, this series, especially DotC, has grown to be something I find a lot of connection to on a deeper level, and hold really close to me, especially in regards to how I Rewrite it. That's my confession.

The Medics of the Clans
I’m planning a rewrite of warrior cats so I’m messing around with how they work, nothing too out there but I like what I got going on.
Ok so somethings I’ve changed is the hole thing of you are an apprentice until your mentor dies, that’s silly and I’ll get to that in a minute.
The second thing I changed is the name, medicine cat as it’s an appropriation of North American indigenous cultures.
A lot of people have changed the name to Healer but personally I don’t like it, nothing against I just don’t care for it. So I’ve changed it to Medic because so much of warrior cats is fighting and battles, it makes sense to me it wound keep with that theme.
Different titles
I’ve gone and made little “titles” for different types of medics. These are the most common titles.
First is Medic Apprentice could also be known as the Medic’s apprentice or Medic in training, it’s exactly what it sounds like, a cat that is learning how to be a Medic.
The Second Medic is a fully trained medic who, most of the time is the youngest fully trained medic, it’s custom for there to be at least two Medics in the clan, the second is to listen and help the head medic
The Head Medic is the one who is in charge of the medicine den and everything that is going on, in and around it. The Head Medic takes on the role when the previous Head Medic retires or dies.
Senior Medic the oldest, most senior medic in the clan. Is normally retired but not always.
Tumblr media
A chart of Leafpool’s history as a Medic, going from bottom to top, just to give you an idea of how this kinda works.
A Disgraced medic is a cat that broken the code severely and has been stripped of the medic title (even when that code is severely unfair).
Field Medic are warriors that have basic training in medicine and healing, they are normally sent on battle patrols or patrols that have the possibility to turn violent.
Tumblr media
Hollyleaf and Brightheart are examples of Field Medics!
Tumblr media
Also important to remember that Senior medic does not always mean their the head medic!
Example of this is while Goosefeather was the senior medic of Thunderclan, he was retired and Featherwhisker was the Head Medic who was in full control of the Thunderclan medic den.
History of Medics
Ok this is very much a work in progress/ has ver little done and I’ll definitely be revisiting this later with a more in detail post, BUT, until then this is what I got so far-
I dont like a lot of stuff in moth flight’s vision, so much of it dose not make sense like, why would you split up your young kids when you didn’t have to? Why did any of the other medicine cats agree to such a dumb rule proposed by a very young, new to this job cat?? Wtf is going on here??
I really like the direction bonefall’s going with their rewrite of moth flight, it makes sooo much more sense to have the kits be older and have training in medicine and that’s why they were split up. I still don’t know how I’m going to tackle moth flight’s vision tho, but moth flight will definitely have a lot of Importance in the clan’s history.
Such as below! After a cat finishes their Medic training they receive a Luna moth wing.
Tumblr media
I will be doing a post on Starclan so hopefully she’ll show up there.
The Medic role will be invented in dotc.
The no mate no children role may not be invented until later in the timeline?? Maybe??
At the end of oots/avos the clans are going to get a bit of a soft reboot and the no mate no children rule is going to fuck off, much to the dismay of a handful cats who think the code is a vital part of clan life
Which brings us to the broken code where shit is hitting the fan but that’s for another post
Like I said it’s really a work in progress but I’ll put a link down here when I post more stuff about it!

The Skyfall AU Masterpost
This post will be an archive of sorts for the information posts for the Skyfall AU.
The goal of this AU is to hammer out a solid timeline for warrior cats, emphasize the downfall of Skyclan and the aftermath as key drivers in the plot, and better flesh out the characters and clan culture(s)! Additionally, I hope to address some of the more problematic elements of the canon text to make a narrative that is more satisfying and lives up to the potential the warriors world has. I also want to pin down a setting (at the moment I am leaning towards SW Scotland) for the books in order to make the names and environment consistent and accurate.
This AU will focus primarily on the the time frame from the fall of Skyclan to the end of OotS, since those are the books I read as a kid/teenager and are the books I have the best grasp of. I stopped reading the series consistently several years ago, but have re-read TPB recently. As such, I probably won't do much work on anything post-The Last Hope. Perhaps later, but certainly not anytime soon.
I hope to tackle DotC at some point, since I got about halfway through that arc before stopping reading the books.
This project is roughly broken into a few categories that are subject to change:
History of the Clans and Timeline Work:
Timeline from The Skyfall to Modern Day [DRAFT]
Clan Culture:
Skyclan's Cultural Evolution
Clan Ranks and Structure
How to Become Deputy by Clan
Plot:
Skyclan's Downfall
Thunderclan Civil War (aka The Skyblood Conflict)
Disbanding of Skyclan
Characters:
ThunderClan Cats
ShadowClan Cats
RiverClan Cats
WindClan Cats
Ancient SkyClan Cats
Modern SkyClan Cats
Rogues, Loners, and Housecats
Family Trees:
Power of Five
Skykin Foundations
ThunderClan
WindClan
RiverClan
ShadowClan
Modern SkyClan
Clanmew Posts:
SkyClan Ranks in Clanmew
Geography and Ecosystems:
Flora and Fauna of SW Scotland
The Forest Territories
Allegiances:
Into the Wild: ThunderClan
Into the Wild: ShadowClan
Into the Wild: WindClan
Into the Wild: RiverClan
Skyfall Asks + Responses:
Can Clerics have mates/kits
Will I write this?
Goal of the rewrite
This AU is inspired not only by the canonical warriors books that I read as a kid/teen but also by the work of @bonefall and @cryptidclaw, both blogs I absolutely love reading through because the ideas in their respective AUs/rewrites are superb and get the creative juices flowing. In particular, I plan on using the clanmew language system developed by bonefall and @troutfur and drawing from the clan culture bonefall has numerous posts about. This is also inspired by other animal fantasy books I read in my childhood, including Tailchaser's Song, Guardians of Ga'hoole, and Wings of Fire.

I think my most controversial Warrior Cats opinion is that I actually really like the Cinderpelt-heart reincarnation plot. Or at least I would really love a version of it without all teh ableist implications. StarClan realizing that teh “no kits for medicine cats” rule is hurtful, and also that disabled cats are often pushed into roles they don’t want and aren’t suited for, and they reincarnate Cinderpelt for those reasons, not because a disabled life isn’t a full one. Cinderheart feeling pressure from teh clan, maybe even her family or even Lionblaze, to be a medicine cat when she finds out. It has potential idk.
I liked it at first, because... Admittedly, I read Po3 before I read TNP and before I finished TPB.
So Cinderpelt was this mysterious, not quite known character to me. I went and read TNP and thought "hmm. I wish it had been more 'this is happening because your life is going to be cut short now due to the move to the lake and that isn't fair because you were supposed to live a long time so go become your niece, really sorry about the badgers, xoxo PS sorry about your mom slowly starving to death in the forest'"
Instead it hinges on her having had "not a full life", which.... When I went EVEN FURTHER back and finished TPB.... She did. She loved Medicine. It was HER choice. The Erin's forgot, made a weird retcon that has become her entire character: "I loved my teacher and didn't tell him", and had Lionblaze be the... Reward for that?
I liked it, it was just done for a stupid reason. Another one of those "we wrote this plot point to make sure a character does xyz" instead of just... Writing it. Snowkit's death is the most egregious example of these writers pretending they have no control over these fictional cats.
I have some controversial opinions of my own.
The Lake territory is cool but also sucks. We need to either leave the Lake or start redoing things about it. It has no landmarks to hang out at or have what I call 'set pieces' whatsoever, and more importantly no threats (thunderpaths, snake rocks, gorge, the tree with a huge Owl, Carrionplace) and I'm pretty sure the writers feel this way too since we leave the Lake once an arc. I wouldn't mind moving territories again, to a more dangerous but still natural place.
Breezepelt should be a permanent Queen. I know it would mean seeing less of him (which I dislike) but him being a gentle parent and helping others raise their kits would be a PERFECT wrap up to his arc. As much as I desperately want Breezestar I think he would fit more as a perma-queen.
A trip to the distant future or past would be both good and bad. A whole new cast would be kinda cool but let's be honest, these writers suck. What is needed is a whole new writing team of people who actually LIKE the books.
I never really liked canon!Riverstar that much, we really didn't know anything about him because DOTC is less Dawn of The Clans and more "pwease like our power trip fantasy oc who knocks up a girl his son's age 🥺". I genuinely cannot remember anything River Ripple even does. He just... Isn't there. Maybe more prevalent in the last 2 books but I never got past the first 3 chapters of book 5 and never opened book 6 aside from looking at its last scene and rolling my eyes. Petal's death was where I drew the line, the narrative bending over backwards to make Clear Sky a poor sad baby crossed it.
• I've come around thanks to Bonefall but I genuinely hated Star Flower as a kid. The way she was described was uncomfortable, annoying and made it feel like the writers were trying to force you to think she's this gorgeous, perfect cat, it made her boring, bland, and anything with her in it a slog to get through because of the way Thunder spoke about her, going on and on about her beautiful she was, getting worse when Moth Flight's Vision described her with purple eyes to go with her star-shaped pupils... Also, I was really attached to Petal, who died suddenly when Star Flower entered the picture, and I was on the assumption Clear Sky and Petal were going to get together, while I didn't like Clear Sky, I just wanted my favorite to stay alive unlike every other female character. Starf also suddenly becoming a helples damsel in distress added to the annoyance so badly that I actually never finished DOTC, and it made me take a break from the series altogether. I really wanted her to be playing the long game. A sincere thank you to Bonefall for helping me reread who this character is, and while the way our 'Camera' describes hee is still annoying, I can at least look past that and see the roots of this character.
I love Leafpool, and Hollyleaf. Met a lot of Leafpool fans who seem to think Hollyleaf is this monster when she very much reads as someone who cannot handle their religious and emotional abuse based trauma and lashed out at the wrong person. What she did to Leafpool was awful but she was basically an irrational teenager. Just like apprentice does not always equal child, warrior does not always equal "grown ass adult who should get over it". Her own existence went against every single thing she believed in and was told by her own mentor to never ever question.
As sweet as the scene with Dandelionkit and Juniperkit in Starclan was... There was really 0 point in giving Squilf 2 dead kids, other than "the writers hate her". The only thing I can see a point for it is for a long-shot setup to Squirrelstar for some lives seeing as you just know they absolutely forgot about Squish's friends.
• I think Ivypool has somewhat of a right to be upset with Dovewing. HEAR ME OUT. She is allowed to be upset, NOT take it out on Dovewing. She also needs to learn that she helped drive her sister out, but the writers are allergic to that kind of thing in favour of "make character a background conservative. If female = mom. If mom = soft until politcal debate scenario." She is allowed to be sad and upset that her only sister is gone, she just needs to acknowledge she messed up, as well as lots of Thunderclan cats messed up.
It's time to kill Brightheart, Brackenfur, Thornclaw and Cloudtail. Enough is enough, start retiring cats who were full warriors when TNP started. Tawnypelt should be in the Elders den and Oakfur should be rotting in hell for what he let happen to Berrynose. On that same note, I hope Russetfur went on trial for that and her attempt on Firestar's life. I like her but good GOD, that was egregious, and looks even more pathetic when Yellowfang's Secret reveals she herself wasn't Clanborn.
Tigerheart's Shadow is a good book (aside from that one 'territory' bit, you know the one) and this series could go FAR if they embraced the mysterious mystical elements they set up, people are far too harsh on the experimental things.
Moonkitti makes good points sometimes but I need younger fans to stop taking everything she says as gospel and start thinking for themselves; case in point the recent Mapleshade drama that REEKS of "if I was Orpheus I wouldn't have turned around". The writers call the Moonstone the Moonpool every time we revisit the forest, do you really think they remembered The Bridge? Did YOU remember the bridge or did Moonkitti point it out? Also, with how cosmically doomed from the start the story was, the water probably would have overtaken the bridge and STILL swept them away. For every one good take Moonkitti has they seem to have more than a few bad ones.
My silly one. FERNSONG SHOULD HAVE BEEN NAMED AFTER HONEYFERN AND BEEN A HONEYFERN CLONE APPEARANCE WISE. No problem with him being named for Ferncloud but could they PLEASE acknowledge that Cinderheart is Honeyfern's sister too? Poppyfrost named her baby boy after Molekit and Lilyheart named her daughter Honeykit despite never having met Honeyfern, and those don't feel like coincidences.
I dislike the Tribe as its concept, but I like some of the characters that came from it, know what I mean? I like OG Stoneteller (though I always pictured him very differently. I saw him as gray tabby with white paws!) I think he is an interesting character, and Outcast was a huge letdown with having him be wrong. It would be a nice change in story if the Clan cats had tried to push their way, only for it to NOT work, for there to be a different way to do things, or a trick the Tribe used in the past that they "could give another crack at", and for the Clan cats to learn that their way of life is not a golden standard. Could you imagine Hollypaw learning this? I also really like Brook. I dismantled her and I know she is a play on the stupid "Indian princess" trope. I love how sweet she is, though I hate how it was painted against the Tribe. I plan to keep that wisdom and kindness, while also making The Tribes just as good a place to live.
I don't think Tawnystar would've been a good idea, as good as a name like that sounds. She, like Bramble, is too old, and the writers can't stand killing off Arc 2 characters in favour of killing off Arc 3 and 4, we would have been stuck with her and the writing for leaders atm SUCKS. Tawnypelt also just... Isn't that great. While I like her, I don't think she would be a good leader. Same goes for Mothstar, though I feel like they could have it done better if they do have it happen by making her not want the 9 lives. After the absolute Christian slog ASC has been about "non believers" it would be cool to see her prove that wrong and put this shitty arc's hinge point in the ground once and for all.
I'm tired of Med Cat protags. We've had one since TNP barring Dawn of The Clans when arguably it would have been the most beneficial from Pebble Heart or Dappled Pelt. Leafpool was cool because she was the first, Jayfeather was kinda cool still because of blindness and being part of the Prophecy, and while his POV in OOTS was a necessary evil, we did not need Alderheart. There is no reason to have Alderheart be the POV when Sparkpelt has the objectively more interesting setup and Alderheart's "anxiety" works better when we can't see through his eyes, as the authors don't know what actual anxiety is. Shadowsight and Frostpaw are alright, through Frostpaw's pov suffers around Nightheart and she does suffer from Camera POV Syndrome at times... Not helped by her being a Female Warriors Character with all the lovely things that come with it. Shadowsight was cool until the writers completely fumbled the bag and made him rude, argumentative, and dropped his epilepsy for no reason. All this is NOT helped by the new retcon that you're just "born different" with some kind of inherit special connection to Starclan, like it wasn't some kind of learned thing, hence Cinderpelt struggling with it as a lot of the time she was on her own!
Let Daisy retire and let Sorrelstripe take over the nursery. These new characters are in desperate need of personality, let Sorrelstripe be a feisty, confident midwife who won't let Queens be bullied into things.

The only things about DOTC that I like are the existence of Bumble and Star Flower, and even they got fucked over IMMENSELY
i want to thank bonefall for making the bumble scene more well known i hope the authors never recover from it and the fandom continues to give them shit for such an awful writing choice

Hi! Wanted to stop by for a chat. I wonder if you have any thoughts/headcanons about the three DOTC brothers (Clear Sky, Gray Wing, Jagged Peak)?
so as a general rule, im not huge on dotc. BUT i have a rewrite! so heres some stuff about everyone in warriors rewound, heavy inspiration taken from @bonefall :
clear sky:
Tumblr media
a cruel, vindictive cat too selfish to see beyond his own claws. he is the main antagonist, the driving force of the plot. it is his orders that stop bright stream from going after gray wing the wise, after an eagle catches him. this is the first death he is responsible for—that of his own brother.
he opposes shaded moss as the sun trail leader, and hates tall shadow even more. his continued mistreatment of the sun trail cats causes them all to split off. bright stream sticks with him, but not for long.
when clear sky casts out jagged sky—his own brother—and mauls bumble half to death, bright stream rounds them up to go to tall shadows camp. she leaves with a warning—his selfishness would be his downfall.
his daughter, thunder stream, learns of him through other sun trail cats. she decides to join his group, just to get to learn his skills.
when tall shadow banishes bumble, arguing that turtle tails death means she has no place in the group, bumble seeks help from a few former friends in clear skys group. clear sky discovers her and attempts to maul her again, but thunder stream hauls him away. they leave to found the rainstorm guild alongside jagged sky, lightning tail, acorn swoop, sparrow tail, and pebble tail.
this is ultimately what causes the first battle. tall shadow is upset to have lost warriors, and confronts clear sky. he escalates the situation. tall shadow looks to her ally, wind, for help, while clear sky kidnaps several river duchy cats as hostages. bright stream attempts to ease tensions, but fails.
though clear sky was defeated here, he continues to get more power hungry and cause more problems. he falls to a small group of assassins, star flower at their head. she takes all of his 7 remaining lives.
gray wing:
Tumblr media
the wise storyteller of the ancients, beloved by all but his brother. he died at the claws of an eagle clear sky refused to save him from.
his death leaves a gap in the lives of many. a true haunting of the narrative.
he appears only twice to all of the clans. once at the end of the great battle, after bright stream calls it to a halt, there to impart advice or warnings to each leader through his stories. he tells long tales to all but clear sky. all he says to his brother is that his selfishness would be his downfall.
he helps thunder stream, his beloved niece, by guiding her to what would eventually be thunderclan territory.
his final appearance is at the end of the arc, in all nine lives ceremonies but clear skys.
he is remembered both as gray wing the wise, and as silverpelt.
jagged sky (jagged peak):
Tumblr media
a scrappy young tom with a heart of gold. he idolized his older brothers, and left with clear sky to follow the sun trail because of that admiration.
his blind faith in his brother would stop him from seeing clear skys true colors, banishing him for his newly amputated leg. he lives alone for a while, before bright stream and a very injured bumble find him. they rush to tall shadows camp to heal the two, and find solace for the pregnant bright stream.
he and bumble become very close, and he is the one to play matchmaker for turtle tail and she. upon turtle tails death due to tom, he’s enraged. moreso when tall shadow banishes bumble. he screams at everyone, before rushing out of camp to find her, several cats hot on his heels.
he comes across thunder stream just after she protects bumble, and they flee and establish the rainstorm guild. jagged sky gets several good hits in on clear sky during the first battle, leaving scars that look like those an eagles talons would leave.
he eventually confronts bright stream for not standing up for bumble. he knows shes better than that! bright stream ends up trying to make it up to bumble. shes forgiven, but nothing is forgotten
he and bumble share the position of proto-deputy
he remains deputy when bumble becomes bumblestar after thunderstars passing.

On Settling into Different Territories
Tumblr media
The way that they set up the cats settling into different territories is so flat
When the narrative wants to make it clear that the cat will eventually become devoted to a particular Clan in the future, they get a magic feeling of "rightness." They can't really explain it, it just beckons to them. Sometimes they even display genetic adeptness towards their biome (ehhhghhh) from the get go, like when Clear Sky was able to leap clean up a tree in Sun Trail.
It's so cheap. You don't have to come up with reasons why they might ACTUALLY need to be there to try the area out, learn much about what really makes a particular biome unique or superior to another one, or show the cats shuffling around. Nope. Immediate attraction. Square peg meets square hole.
It reminds me a little bit of another trope that's one of my pet peeves. "Love at first sight." I hate the very idea. You can like things right away, but love is like a seed that grows. Love is learning, finding all the little quirks, discovering how it interacts with you, the sort of person that love makes you.
I've moved around a lot, and a different place... it really can change you. It can make you a different sort of person. You get to learn about yourself through what's now available to you. The best places I've ever lived weren't "sudden rightness," I made a home there and grew into it, and that was what was beautiful about it. In a way, a new place is like a new friendship.
I prefer feeling forlorn about wasted material like this though, rather than the boiling, itchy hatred that the Three Stooges make me feel though.
A lamentation about the fact that these books are not made with love, they're made by hitting a quota for justifying the status quo.

character everyone gets wrong BUT u can't say anyone from mapleshades vengeance (bc then it's too easy)
ARRRRRGH CURSE YOU ANON YOU TOOK THE OBVIOUS ANSWERS
okay uuuh. crowfeather for one. hes not this sad tragic emo guy bullied by the world hes a spiteful abusive asshole who decided to make his fridged “woman he liked” (NOT EVEN HIS GIRLFRIEND. IN THE GRAND SCHEME OF THINGS HE BARELY KNEW HER) everybody elses problem. i see comments all the time on crowfeather maps like “omg finally one that doesnt demonize him!” and im like WHERE. WHERE IS THE CONTENT DEMONIZING CROWFEATHER. I WANT IT FOR PERSONAL REASONS. the reason i hate this guy so much is that people worship the ground he walks on and wax poetic about how hes soooo complex and maybe he could be as a protag turned abuser but they also deny hes abusive so idk where theyre getting any goddamn complexity.
moonflower. i cant find the big analysis post i made about her but tl;dr shes more than bluestars dead mom. she was somebody who ended up with a schism in her family relationships due to grooming and her severed and strained relationship with her brother is genuinely tragic. the two siblings were basically set up to hate each other and its fucked up.
breezepelt. people are being more normal about him now but i still remember that comic where crowfeather ~adopts and is such a good dad to harestar~ and it opens with a joke about how both of his sons are ~crazy~ and how they ~unfairly blame him~ when crowfeather literally made his son feels alone and isolated through his emotional abuse, leaving him open to be groomed by the dark forest.
curlfeather. points at the wcrp forums. be normal about her Or Else.
star flower. you can thank @bonefall for opening my eyes to this one (seriously go check out ALL of their dotc analysis posts, theyre so good). she gets treated like shit and used by basically eveybody and then gets blamed for being a victim of abuse and grooming, even by the authors. its fucked up.
gray wing. hes basically ashfur with less murder. same spiteful woman hating asshole with a holier than thou complex and situational bigotry.

You knowww, every now and then I come across someone else's AU project and I see a little sentiment somewhere on the blog that they fear... not being creative enough, or borrowing too many ideas from me in particular, or something similar.
And then, in another post, they'll also be worrying that changing one element or another will spoil things, or that leaning into one character or concept being too bad will come across as "bashing" it, or for some reason they'll end up breaking things if they alter something
To both of those things I gotta say... break shit! Fuck it up! Destroy something and then have fun putting it back together! "How do I go forth and make a conlanguage?" Just do it! "What if it looks like I'm bashing Bramblestar?" If you end up bashing him, you can just put him back together in a way you like more later. "I have this cool idea but how do I make it work?" Figure that out later, commit to the cool idea now and write what makes you HAPPY!
The worst art is art you don't make.
This blog. I made it in the first place because I always wanted people to be able to come here, pick up an idea or inspiration, and go forth with it. It's why Clanmew's free to use and I made that clear with Trout when we first started. I had always made Better Bones, and the Bonefall Rewrite before it, with the idea in mind that I was a helmsman but I was writing it with the contributions, wishes, and musings of followers in mind. Collaboration at its core.
It wasn't all perfect to begin with. I've changed things-- I started BB!DOTC with Gray Wing surviving, and now he is the first pioneer death. It was a major change and I'm STILL altering old posts, but I promise! It's not that big a deal! You CAN just go back and fix stuff! Don't be so afraid!
YOU are you only person who can make YOUR art. You are the most unique tool in your own arsenal, with your unique tastes, interests, and thoughts. That is what makes every AU unique, given love and time. Trust your intuition, be critical but kind towards your work, and remember that passion is always worth the initial price of fear.

My phone won't let me open the rules and I'm pretty sure repetitive confessions are deleted but I also don't remeber if anyone's talked about him before so uhh yeah
I hate Gray Wing DoTC. I think it's an opinion sort of getting popular because of Bonefall maybe, but I hate him so much I've deliberately killed him and replaced his POV in my Rewrite simply to not have to expose myself to him, following suit with Bonefall in that regard. Obviously I know he isn't real so it's not that serious but he's just so controlling, childish, and arrogant while the people around him (and himself, and a lot of people irl) act likes he's so humble and sweet and angelic. He isn't compelling, and he comes off much more like an asshole pretending he's nice than anything else he's supposed to, and that's not what DoTC is about, so I had to lean the other way.
There was no way to please everyone with his character when he's practically two different people, so I let him be wise for awhile so the long-term sentiment of his self could stand, and then let his death symbolize something bigger for the whole of the arc.
Usually I let my characters be flawed and explore those flaws because characters are meant to emulate people (usually) but there's just something uniquely irritating about him and the way people percieve him that ruins even the idea of him for me. Even Clear Sky got better treatment than him in my Rewrite (as in I kept him alive to be involved, partially because he actually adds shit to the story)
Anyways yeah I hate him and I'd really like to know tbh what makes so many people like him so much? Not that I'm angry I'm just kinda confused, I guess? Is there something I'm missing?

so i've totally overhauled dotc in my mind, but i'd like an au where clear sky -- just an ordinary dick with a maxed out charisma stat, no nine lives -- demands to kill one of moth flight's kits as revenge for her fucking up treatment for one of his kits, clear branch. [tldr: worldbuilding in my au has all of clear sky's kits be called "clear -whatever" bc i was inspired(tm) by bonefall]
anyway, before clear sky can get away with killing any of moth flight's kits -- who are only just fully weaned btw -- she pulls a squilf and says that they're not hers. this leads moth flight to separate her kits among the three groups in forest.
instead of spider paw going to live by the river like in canon, moth flight ends up leaving and living by the river in proto-riverclan. [this is because she believes that healers shouldn't be allowed family period, so family can't be caught up in revenge-focused bullshit for your fuck up.]
also this is totally unrelated to the prompt but something neat i think i should let you know: in my au, clear sky's attempted child murder leads to his cult [long story there] throwing a coup and killing him.

Bonefall tackles the fatphobia in their rewrite and their blog!! They have this huge rewrite going one where they're putting in culture and stuff into warriors and it's so good! They dissect DOTC bit by bit and Bumble lives in their rewrite! But they haven't written it yet, it's still in the drafts phase. But check out their blog. I think you'll like it.
Oh yeah I've seen their rewrite of Bumble before, very enjoyable!

🔥 13 14 and 15!
13. worst blorboficiation
Gray Wing, full-stop. If you are doing it because you wanna remember him better, sure, go right ahead! But if you insist to me that canon!Gray Wing is anything but nasty, I'll redirect you to Bonefall's DOTC reading.
14. that one thing you see in fics all the time
I don't really read warriors fanfics nowadays but back in the day there was SO much LeopardTiger. It wasn't a huge ship back then, people just kept including that weird "Leopardstar was hoping Tigerstar would be her mate" bit and running with it.
15. that one thing you see in fanart all the time
Making Mollies thin and "feminine", while making toms look much more diverse but still quite "masculine". I'm glad we have recognized this, and you're allowed to make them look however you want, just... Please recognize that we have very much slapped gender expectations onto them? Draw everyone as femme or masc as you want, just... I dunno, address internal biases. Ivypool doesn't need to be masculine just because she is "tough and badass".
Draw Briarlight as a gym bro, she was canonically ripped.
